00:00across a very very beautiful facial. It's called the gemstone facial and it is by a woman named
00:07Elizabeth Trattner. She's a licensed acupuncturist and doctor of integrated medicine. She does the
00:13acupuncture and she uses gemstones all over your body to aid in the facial process. So I decided
00:19that I should probably try this facial. So I reached out and I got the facial and I'm going
00:23to tell you all about it. I got my facial done here in the city at a place called Detox
00:29Market
00:29where she had set up shop on the second floor. Hi. Hi. Nice to meet you. So nice to finally
00:36meet you. Welcome. If you get the facial in Miami where she lives, it costs around $275 and then cheaper
00:45for the subsequent follow-up sessions. If you get it in a different city though, it goes up to $395.
00:51I'm so excited to give you your gemstone acupuncture facial. Are you ready? Yes, I'm so ready. Let's go. First,
00:57actually what I'm going to do is put some crystals around you.
00:59To get you relaxed. We're going to use this cobaltocalcite. Cobaltocalcite is what's in tongues. Next is a carnelian for
01:07digestion. Use citrine a lot on women. I think women today are under a lot of pressure. It's a great
01:14stone. I use it in most of my treatments. Minerals have been used in medicine for 5,000 years. And
01:19so this is part of the treatment that makes the gemstone facial so great.
01:23So now we're going to do the bottoms of your feet. This is to help ground you. This is blue
01:28aragonite and black tourmaline. Black tourmaline carries a negative charge. And we're using color therapy as well. Blue and black
01:34are part of kidney energy that helps ground you. Okay, are you ready? Ready? Oh, I'm ready.
01:38So the first stage in the gemstone facial is we do cupping. And what I do is I start at
01:45the chest. And we do the neck and then we go to the face. We're not going to be leaving
01:48any marks. This is why we use a lot of serum to help the cups glide. This is really sort
01:54of the secret area of the body.
01:55I have a bias towards, if you're new to this, to please not use glass cups. Because the neck is
02:02a really delicate area. This does not have a draggy motion. I do not want to pull the skin at
02:07the neck. It's just too delicate an area.
02:09Should I open your mouth? So we're going to just step down and close. This is very delicate tissue. And
02:15so I'm just kind of going in and giving a gentle squeeze. And then you can pull it out. You
02:20know, this isn't a treatment. This is how to build beauty from the inside out. This is a very pretty
02:25treatment.
02:26The basis of this treatment is all rooted in traditional Chinese medicine.
02:31We get to the gua sha part. Which, hey, we love gua sha. I love a gua sha moment.
02:37Okay, so we're going to add a little bit more serum. And again, you want to start at the chest.
02:41Make sure at all times you are dragging out toward the armpit. You never want to push in because what
02:46you're going to do is push length into the body and then you're going to puff up. You can see
02:50that I'm working at a really, really low angle and I'm sweeping out.
02:52So you're going to take the long side of the blade. That's this. And you're just going to gently go
02:57up and wiggle in. Yeah, this is not hard, correct?
03:00No, it's very gentle. And then you're going to use this groove here. I'm using my finger to hold the
03:05skin of the neck. And now this is a move that I really like. This is like a transverse move.
03:09So what I like people to do is remember, secure your neck. Take this nice small end of the blade
03:14and then go into the back of the neck.
03:16This is actually ironing out these folds that you're creating during the day.
03:22We're going to move into the face. And I think we have a clencher here.
03:26Yes, I am definitely a jaw glencher. Okay. As we go over the master, that's this big muscle right here.
03:31If you're hitting almost like a stop or a bump in the road, you can actually take the little bunny
03:36ear right here and give yourself a tiny massage.
03:38Really be gentle and kind to your eyes. And remember, you're going almost at a flat angle, like maybe zero
03:44to five.
03:45You're using more of a gentle pressure of the entire tool to pull the lymph out.
03:49So when you wash out your forehead, you're going to go a little bit into your hairline.
03:58You have a lot of tension in your forehead and the muscles of the forehead start back in the hairline.
04:04So we're going to needle inside the hairline to loosen that forehead up.
04:08You really don't need a lot. Your skin is perfect.
04:12Where we're really addressing on you is the sides of your face and the top of the forehead because of
04:17the tension.
04:18And also in your eye area because of your eye strain. And then we do have needles here for your
04:23clenching.
04:25To be really honest with you guys, I do get a little anxious before I get acupuncture.
04:29It doesn't necessarily hurt, but just the thought of having needles put into me just freaks me out a little
04:35at the onset.
04:36But once they're in, you really can't feel them and it's totally fine.
04:40So you should be feeling like a really cool tuggy sensation in your forehead.
04:45Are you feeling like the pull?
04:46A little bit, yeah.
04:47Inhale.
04:47Exhale.
04:48Good job.
04:49Inhale.
04:50Exhale.
04:51Good job.
04:59So here comes the gems. Obviously, these are energy centers of the body.
05:04Why these specific gemstones?
05:06You know, in Chinese medicine, our face is broken up into zones.
05:10The cheeks are the digestion.
05:11On your forehead, it's purple and clear.
05:15This represents yin tang, which is this point right here.
05:19It's a very good point for focus and concentration.
05:22Blue stones here to kind of quell hormonal acne.
05:26You don't have any.
05:27Your skin's really beautiful.
05:28But a lot of times that's what happens.
05:30Anyway, we're going to let you rest.
05:37So how are you feeling?
05:39So good.
05:40I think I fell asleep for a little bit.
05:41Oh, that's excellent.
05:42A lot of people fall asleep during this process.
05:44So we're going to actually start taking your crystals off and then we'll pull the needles.
05:57I'm using an aromatherapy to awaken the skin.
06:00Mmm.
06:01It smells amazing.
06:02It does.
06:03I'm going to do just a tiny bit of gua sha on you.
06:09And this is a probiotic cream.
06:11Mmm.
06:12It smells so good.
06:14Oh, it does smell really good.
06:14Doesn't it smell amazing?
06:15You've had ear seeds before, yes?
06:17Have I what?
06:18Have you ever had ear seeds?
06:19No.
06:19So this will help you with jet lag as well.
06:21We're going to put a couple of special points in your ear.
06:23How do you take them out?
06:25They're going to either fall out.
06:26If they bother you, take them out.
06:28We're putting these points on to balance.
06:30Your system.
06:31I know that you've got some-
06:32How do they stick on?
06:34There's a medical adhesive.
06:35It's clear.
06:36And so if you're feeling stressed, you can give yourself like a little squeeze.
06:40Some people want a picture.
06:41You know, that Instagram shot is what people, I think, brings people in.
06:44But you can't deny the studies that have been done on Chinese medicine and skin.
06:49Dr. Trattner's facial was very relaxing.
06:52I noticed that a lot of the puffiness in my jaw was really diminished.
06:55In terms of the gemstones, what I think that the gemstones provide is just a little extra
07:00layer of fun and luxury.
07:02What makes Dr. Trattner's facial special is that it does have that extra element of fun
07:08that makes you feel like you're really being pampered.
07:10You feel like you're just surrounded by these beautiful stones.
07:14And honestly, you get a really cute picture out of it.
07:16At the end of the day, it was a very unique experience.
07:19I will look back on these photos and be like, that was a cool thing that I did.
07:22So, yeah.
07:23I hope you guys enjoyed this video.
07:25And I will catch you guys next week.
07:28Bye!
