00:06Structured shell tops can feel a little limiting and outdated,
00:09so today I'm going to make three outfits to breathe new life into the piece.
00:22This particular top is Rebecca Valens.
00:24It reads a little bit fancier because it's gold and textured,
00:27but let's see if I can mix it in with some pieces I already have in my wardrobe.
00:31So first I'd like to try this with a pair of ripped jeans to edge it out a little bit.
00:34So I'll try these, but just jeans and a shirt can be a little bit boring,
00:38so we're going to see if we can layer it with something.
00:40I think this one will be kind of a cool length to try and might make it more feminine.
00:48I love this first look as an alternative to the traditional going out top and jeans.
00:53The ripped jeans and heels keep it edgy on the bottom,
00:55but the pleated shirt underneath the gold shell top keeps it feminine and kind of Grecian.
00:59I love the mix of the outfit altogether.
01:04This first outfit was fun and for nighttime,
01:06but let's see if we can make this top work for the office too.
01:09We can put it with more traditional trousers, layer it over a button down,
01:14and see if we can make it work into a full suit.
01:20Here the gold top kind of takes on the third piece in a three-piece suit,
01:24and it's perfect for the office or a more tailored wedding look.
01:27I suggest though that if you're going to be wearing a short suit with shorts of this length,
01:31to wear a strapless, more feminine shoe to elongate the legs.
01:37So the first two looks played up the unusual layering that you can do with the shirt.
01:41For the third look, I want to do something super classic and feminine,
01:44so I'm going to pair it with a full skirt.
01:51Putting the top with a vintage skirt plays up its throwback vibe,
01:54except the top is super structured and the skirt is really feminine and flowy,
01:57which would be so fun to dance in.
01:59Pair it all with some kick-ass shoes and you've got yourself an outfit.
