A week of comforting Scottish family dinners brings together rich homemade-style favourites, quick midweek meals and classic fish and chips. Cheryl shares seven days of tea, from beef and Stilton stew with creamy mash and carrots to individual chicken pies, then a bubbling baked macaroni with beef, tomato soup, mushrooms and cheese.

The week continues with chicken burgers, beef noodle stir-fry, nduja ravioli and a familiar Sunday plate of battered cod, chips and peas. Find easy UK family meal ideas, dinner inspiration and practical dishes for a varied weekly menu, with recipes linked for the chicken pies and burger pasta.

00:05well hello there folks how are you it's lovely to see you again as usual and i hope that i
00:10find you
00:11very well so welcome back to what's for tea for our week of family meals we call it tea
00:17you might call it dinner it's just the main meal of the day and i'll just show you what i
00:22made
00:22starting off on monday through till today which is sunday and if i've got a video and anything
00:28that you see here i'll always leave it linked down below so as you can see on monday we had
00:33stew so
00:35this was a beef and stilton stew this was amazing the flavor of this was so rich and intense and
00:42i
00:42have filmed this for the channel so i will be uploading that shortly so i've got some creamy
00:48mashed potato on the side we've got some lovely steamed carrots as well and that's that lovely
00:54stew it was so thick and rich and full of flavor you don't need to add the stilton cheese to
01:01this
01:01and it doesn't make it you know it doesn't make it taste cheesy it just makes it taste very rich
01:07and deep highly recommended you give that one a go when i pop this up so i reckon it's going
01:12to be
01:13a couple of weeks before this one is up i've got a couple in the queue already but yeah do
01:18keep an eye
01:18out for this one ever so easy to make as well and obviously it all just gets done in the
01:24one pan so
01:24yeah just delicious and then moving on to tuesday we had wee individual chicken pies and i do have
01:32a video recipe for individual chicken pies and i will leave that down below in the comment section
01:39just in case you want to go and give these a go for yourself because i know this kind of
01:44thing
01:44isn't common everywhere in the world i know it's a very british thing a pie but yeah they are just
01:50lovely so it's short crisp pastry on the bottom puff pastry on the top and a lovely creamy chicken
01:56stew and side with some potato croquettes and tender stem broccoli on the side we do like tender stem
02:03broccoli just it's a wee bit different to your standard broccoli it's got a different texture
02:08well i think so anyway and then moving on to wednesday one of our favorites and one
02:14we make quite a lot and so many of you have gone on to make this now i do have
02:19a video recipe for this
02:21one again i'll leave it down below but lots of you really enjoy this one and i've gone on to
02:26add it to
02:27your rotation as well so it's just macaroni tomato soup mushrooms onions ground beef cheese and it all
02:35just gets you all obviously cooked and combined popped into the oven to go nice and bubbly on the
02:42top and this is it here just out of the oven oh it's just wonderful one of my absolute favorites
02:47and then moving on to thursday we had chicken burgers and you will have seen these burgers if
02:53you watch my shopping unbagging yesterday these were the bird's eye chicken quarter pounders and these
02:59have got such a lovely texture on the outside it tastes almost like rice crispies on the outside it's
03:05just lovely so i've got a toasted brioche bun garlic mayo a couple of slices of cheddar cheese that's
03:11that burger there they are so good and then some more cheese and then just a few slices of tomato
03:17and
03:18the top of the bun of course and then just a few chips on the side these are the mccain
03:24home fries
03:25which are really nice done in the air fryer and that's a mini buttered corn in the cob which i
03:31just
03:31keep in the freezer and they're just so handy to have you know just to add to this kind of
03:36thing i
03:36think they're about eight or ten in the bag so they'll last a while and then moving on to friday
03:41we had a stir fry and these were the ingredients from the waitrose shopping that i'd done the other
03:47day so it's just the stir fry beef the noodles it's the chow mein sauce and then the colorful vegetable
03:55mix and this was lovely as well but i thought it was quite expensive for what you actually got
04:01for the four ingredients it was eight pounds and it really you know it serves two people at a push
04:07so yeah it's quite pricey as far as stir fry goes but everything was fine the beef was lovely
04:14but the veggies the sauce and the noodles are just the same as anywhere else what i think you know
04:19does make the difference is the beef the beef was really nice not sure i would get that again but
04:24it was nice for a wee change and what was worth the money was this ravioli again you will have
04:31seen
04:31this if you watch my shopping and bagging this was the induja ravioli so it's stuffed ravioli
04:38and then the induja sauce just mixed through and this was amazing it actually tasted restaurant quality
04:46yeah so highly recommend both of those if you get them an offer as i did i wouldn't have paid
04:52you know
04:52full price for these but these were on offer we've got a parmesan the top and basil so well worth
04:58it
04:58in my opinion and then moving on to today we had good old fish and chips not a sunday roast
05:05in sight so
05:06we had the fish and chips it's just what we fancied sometimes i'll make beef or chicken you know during
05:11the week or at the beginning of the week i don't keep that kind of thing to exclusively a sunday
05:17but as
05:18a lot of people do but it's just not something that we do so we had fish and chips we've
05:23got the chips
05:23the garden peas we've got some tartar sauce at the front and then some dusted cod fillets at the back
05:30with a couple of lemon wedges as well and this was really tasty again one of my favorites i could
05:37eat
05:37fish and chips more or less every day of the week i think i just love it so that was
05:42everything that i made
05:43this week so thank you so much for watching if you're still here and a huge thank you as usual
