00:00So after the Washington Commanders got their win, all the power rankings came out,
00:05and most of the organizations moved them up in the power rankings.
00:12ESPN has Washington at number 25.
00:14It's not like it's great, but that was up four spots.
00:18They were down to 29 before their win against the Eagles.
00:21CBS Sports, for example, moved them up two spots.
00:24Pro Football Talk moved them to number 24, which is up six spots.
00:29So they were being considered one of the worst teams in the NFL, like ranked 29th, 30th.
00:34Sports Illustrated moved them up to number 22.
00:39But there is one guy from Sports Illustrated, Connor Orr,
00:44who's now calling the Commanders his favorite to win the NFC East.
00:50Because?
00:51Just looks at the Giants, looks at Philadelphia, looks at Dallas.
00:55Dallas, he believes Washington can still win this NFC East.
00:59Do you feel that way?
01:02I mean, it's certainly possible, but that Giant game in two weeks is going to be massive.
01:07The Giant game is massive.
01:08Yeah, that's the big one.
01:10Can they beat a bunch of teams on their schedule?
01:13Of course.
01:13I mean, look at their schedule.
01:15Rams coming in tough.
01:16All right?
01:17Giants on the road, very beatable.
01:19So, Bengals, problem with the Bengals is they've got two freaking Hall of Fame receivers.
01:25Let's just say, hopefully, though, can they beat one of the two?
01:28Let's try to be optimistic.
01:29You mean the Bengals or the Rams?
01:30Yes.
01:31Can they get one of those two?
01:33And then you assume you kind of, I mean, if you want to be relevant at all,
01:35you have to beat the Giants.
01:36You want to talk about a must-win?
01:37You have to beat the Giants.
01:38You've got to beat the Giants.
01:39Right.
01:40So, hold on.
01:40That would put them, let's just say they split with the Bengals and the Rams.
01:44So, that gets them three.
01:46Win the Giants.
01:46That gets them before.
01:48So, now you're 4-4-1.
01:50Is that right?
01:50Or 4-5-1?
01:51If you win two of those three?
01:53Yes.
01:53If you win two of those three, you'll be 4-5-1.
01:56No, you'll be 4-5-1.
01:574-5-1.
01:58Hold on, hold on, JP.
01:59Let's do the exercise because the schedule does change as people get hurt.
02:03All right?
02:04So, you know, you're asking, can they do it?
02:07All right.
02:07So, then, you've got to beat a team like the Cardinals and the Titans,
02:11and I'm sorry, even the Texans.
02:14Those are the kind of games you just kind of have to win if you want to make a run.
02:17I mean, I know the Texans aren't having a great year, but they're still,
02:20they've got players.
02:21I'm not saying that they're trash.
02:22And they've got receivers, and they've got a quarterback that can beat you,
02:25and they've got defensive guys.
02:27Listen, anybody can beat us.
02:29But let me just be optimistic, okay?
02:31So, that's 4-5-1.
02:34That's 5-5-1.
02:356-5-1.
02:36Now, you're up to 7-5-1 if you beat them.
02:38Now, you beat the Falcons.
02:39I don't have much regard for them.
02:41I mean, 8-5-1.
02:43Okay, let's say you lose to the Texans.
02:45So, you're 7-6-1.
02:48Vikings will be tough.
02:50Yep.
02:50Jags will be tough.
02:517-7-1.
02:52Jags will be tough.
02:53Cowboys, I mean, hopefully.
02:54So, I mean, you're looking at potentially 8 or 9 wins.
02:56Will that be enough?
02:57I don't know.
02:58I don't think 8 will.
02:591-800-636-1067.
03:01Do you agree with Connor Orr from Sports Illustrated
03:05that the Commanders can win this NFC East?
03:08He's picking them to win the NFC East.
03:10Here's what I look at.
03:11I look at the New York Giants.
03:13I'm not buying it.
03:16We watched them against Washington.
03:19They're not that good of a team, and I don't believe in J.J. McCarthy.
03:24He had one good game.
03:26I'll give him credit for that.
03:27But I think there's a reason why Minnesota and their quarterback whisperer coach
03:33moved on from J.J. McCarthy.
03:36I don't think he's that good.
03:37You guys...
03:38Look, I don't think Cam Scadaboo's a bum, but I don't think he's that good either.
03:42I think he's a mid...
03:44I feel like they're a middle-of-the-road team.
03:47They're going to be 500.
03:49They absolutely are.
03:51You know, I like their coach.
03:53I think they'll get the most out of the talent on that team,
03:56but I'm just not overly impressed by them.
03:59They lost their best defensive player in Brian Burns.
04:01They do have other guys, but they have a middle-of-the-road defense,
04:05a middle-of-the-road, at-best, offense.
04:07We saw them head-to-head against Washington.
04:09I feel like Washington's a better team, and they have the better quarterback.
04:14I don't know.
04:14And I think J.J. McCarthy...
04:17We'll see.
04:18He can disprove all the critics, but I think that J.J. McCarthy could slide back,
04:23and then all of a sudden...
04:25Look, there's a reason why Harbaugh is calling teams for players.
04:30He wants this team to get better, and including at running back.
04:33They don't believe in what they necessarily have there.
04:37I don't either.
04:39I think they're going to...
04:40So to me...
04:41Look at all the injuries Washington's had.
04:43I get that you went through the schedule,
04:44but I feel like Washington's better than a team with a third-string quarterback.
04:48He was...
04:49And I'm calling him a third-string quarterback because he was a third-string quarterback,
04:52J.J. McCarthy.
04:52Yeah.
04:53We already talked that up as a dub.
04:55I'm not going through the schedule.
04:57I'm just saying I don't believe in the Giants.
04:58They might even get a win this week.
04:59You still have to get a requisite number of wins to win the division.
05:03That's why you have to go through the schedule.
05:04The Cowboys, to me, on paper, have the best team.
05:09They fall apart all the time.
05:10There's something wrong with them.
05:12The head coach...
05:14We're talking about Brian Schottenheimer.
05:16He just might be one of those guys that is just meant to be a coordinator his whole life
05:20and is not a good head coach.
05:21There are holes everywhere in all of those teams.
05:24But the commanders are suffering big-time injuries to starters.
05:29Those teams have big-time injuries, too.
05:31Okay, but it's not...
05:31Yeah, but they're already behind these teams.
05:33So, then they're going to suffer more.
05:37Kinlaw's not the last injury they're going to have.
05:40So, I think they should add something before the deadline.
05:44I really do.
05:46Because when you're sitting and you're looking at the schedule
05:48and you've got to play teams like the Jags and the Bengals
05:53and they're not going to obviously add anything before the Rams game.
05:57But you've got to score more points.
06:00I just don't know if they have enough right now healthy guys
06:03to score enough points to win the division.
06:05I think what happens this week maybe determines whether you add
06:09and give up a draft choice, for example.
06:111-800-636-1067.
06:13They don't necessarily have to beat the Rams.
06:16I wouldn't give up a high draft.
06:17I would look at what the Giants do.
06:18If the Giants beat the Eagles handily, they're playing in Philly.
06:22Yep.
06:22I don't have the odds in front of me.
06:24I'm guessing the Giants are favored.
06:27But if they beat the Eagles,
06:28now you're talking a three-game advantage in the division over Washington.
06:34Then I probably don't buy.
06:36But let's say the Giants lose.
06:37Let's say the Commanders lose.
06:39But then I would be interested in Jason's path
06:42because a one-game turnaround if you beat them head-to-head
06:46with all those games left.
06:48And I just don't believe in the Giants.
06:50I believe in their coach.
06:51I think they have a good coach.
06:52I think they're going to get, if they have an advantage,
06:54they're 4-2-1.
06:55They'll probably get to eight or nine wins.
06:58But they're not a 10-win team.
07:00They're not an 11-win team.
07:01Who are we talking about?
07:02The Giants.
07:02No, I agree.
07:04I don't think any of these teams are.
07:05But that's why you answered it yourself.
07:07That's why you have to go through the schedule.
07:09So can they do it?
07:10They've got to get to the requisite number of wins.
07:12They've got to get to at least nine.
07:15I don't think you have to get to nine.
07:16So you've got to figure out how you're going to get to nine.
07:17I think eight could win the division.
07:19It could.
07:20I would bet against it.
07:21I would bet against it.
07:23Because I think the Giants will get at least four more wins.
07:27Okay.
07:28So that puts you at eight, eight, and one.
07:29Then it might go to head-to-head.
07:30It might.
07:32I said at least.
07:33I think they could get to five.
07:36I just think that there are some crucial, crucial games in the next three weeks for Washington.
07:41The Giants' schedule actually is pretty back-loaded.
07:44It's pretty scary for them.
07:46I mean, okay, they have the Eagles this week.
07:48That's easy.
07:49Let's assume.
07:50I don't think that's going to be easy.
07:52Well, okay.
07:52But they're banged up.
07:54Yeah.
07:54But let's assume relatively easy.
07:56It's way easier than you thought.
07:56I mean, they are favorites.
07:57They're favored by three.
07:58Let's assume the Commanders beat them.
08:00But yeah, they still have the Lions, Seahawks, and Niners on schedule.
08:04The thing that scares me about Washington's schedule is this week, Cincy, Minnesota, and
08:12Jacksonville on the road, and then that Cowboy game.
08:14The Cowboy game in week 18 could be massive.
08:17Do you believe in the Cowboys?
08:19I don't.
08:20But it could be massive because you have to, like Eric is saying, you still have to beat
08:23teams.
08:24Yeah.
08:24Just because you don't believe.
08:25Do you think the Cowboys fans believe in the Commanders?
08:29No.
08:30You think the Giants fans believe in the Commanders?
08:32They don't.
08:33They might be a little scared of the Commanders because they know that they trailed by 14
08:37in the fourth quarter and were lucky.
08:39Yeah.
08:39But they still came back and tied it.
08:41Now they got a different quarterback.
08:43Giants fans are very confident.
08:44Yeah.
08:45Trust me.
08:45Let's go to the phones.
08:461-800-636-1067.
08:49All right.
08:50Let's go to Sean in D.C.
08:52Sean, what's up, man?
08:53You're on with the junkies.
08:56Sean, are you there?
08:57Hey, what's up, guy?
08:58Hey, buddy.
08:58What's up, man?
08:59How y'all doing?
09:00Doing great.
09:00How are you?
09:00It's LAP now.
09:01LAP.
09:02L-A-P.
09:02LAP.
09:03Okay.
09:03What's up, man?
09:04Well, how y'all doing, man?
09:05I ain't talking to you in a while.
09:06What's up, Lurch?
09:07How you doing?
09:07What's up, man?
09:08What's going on, man?
09:09What's up, bro?
09:10Yeah.
09:11I think they have a chance.
09:15Only thing I'm really upset, I'm just mad about that tie, bro.
09:18I just think if we'd have won that game, because the schedule, I knew the schedule was brutal.
09:23You know what I'm saying?
09:24You said the schedule was brutal from the jump.
09:26I just thought we could have had more wins in the first half, but we're here now, so we've got
09:31to do it.
09:32I just don't think that Dan Quinn, if you had a really good coach, I think some of those coach
09:36games like Philly, 49ers, and the Giants, I think we would have won those games with a better coach.
09:42I just don't trust Dan Quinn.
09:43He's a suspect to me.
09:44He looks scared out there.
09:45He looks like he never coached in his life.
09:47I know, but you said you still have faith.
09:52Yeah, I still have faith just because the division is bad, and then secondly, man, we've been in a lot
09:57of those games.
09:58I mean, that Dallas game could have went differently if Jaden didn't get injured, but these guys got to play,
10:03man.
10:04We can't.
10:04Ain't nobody feeling sorry.
10:07Well, that's for sure.
10:08The Eagles now, look at last year when we were injured, and they didn't care about us.
10:12Yeah, that's for sure.
10:13So now they're injured.
10:14You know what I'm saying?
10:14Nobody don't really care, so we got to win, man.
