00:00 Take the game in the middle of the afternoon early evening hours yesterday DRS.
00:07 For an example, Purdue, the number two team in the country, taking on 11th ranked Gonzaga.
00:13 And it was a dandy.
00:14 The Boilermakers have a huge second half after they were down by five at the break.
00:18 The Boilers come back and win DRS by 10 points, 73-63, covering as a five and a half point
00:26 pregame favorite.
00:27 Purdue now has covered in three of their four games this year.
00:31 The Boilermakers yesterday DRS outscored Gonzaga by 15 points in the second half.
00:37 And the big man, the reigning national player of the year, Zach Eaddy, 25 points, 14 rebounds,
00:44 three blocks.
00:45 Donnie, it wasn't his best night from the field, only shot 50%.
00:49 And yes, that correlates to Zach Eaddy not having his best offensive performance, but
00:53 he was 9 of 10 from the free throw line.
00:56 There's not many seven-footers in the history of basketball that shoot 90% from the charity
01:00 stripe.
01:01 That's what Zach Eaddy did last night.
01:03 Yeah, that's such an advantage to have because you don't have to remove your player for a
01:06 hack-a-shack tendency saying, "Hey, we need to steal possession.
01:09 Just go hack Zach Eaddy.
01:10 He's going to break two free throws here."
01:12 You got to defend them honestly because if you continue to foul him, he just goes to
01:15 the free throw line and makes his shots.
01:16 By the way, in this tournament here that you're right, moving off of Maui to the Big Island,
01:20 the one interesting part that many people were bringing up on X yesterday, which I thought
01:24 was valid.
01:25 I love that small gym atmosphere in Maui.
01:27 The rims were forgiving.
01:28 The team was getting up and down the court.
01:30 It wasn't like, "Hey, interesting backgrounds here."
01:32 It was almost like you're back at home in a glorified high school gym and you can really
01:36 get your sights and get your foot down.
01:38 You see these games yesterday, 73-63 in that game against Gonzaga.
01:42 Stays well under the total.
01:43 And also, take a look at the three-point shooting in that game.
01:45 4 of 17 for the Boilermakers and Gonzaga 6 of 32 overall.
01:50 So maybe that's something to look forward to and say, "Okay, maybe the rims aren't as
01:53 forgiving as what we used to see off of the Big Island in Maui."
01:57 But that's a really good win for the Boilermakers.
01:59 And when you take a look at these games, if you lose them, again, as you always say, it's
02:03 not that big of a deal here.
02:04 But you want to measure yourself.
02:05 You want to put yourself in some adversity before you get into your conference tournament
02:09 play because when you look at these games, you're down 5 on the road.
02:12 "Hey, you know, it's nice in Maui.
02:13 We lose this game.
02:14 We'll go to the beach tomorrow."
02:15 No, you fought back and got that victory and you're going to play another really good basketball
02:19 team after that.
02:20 So it's nice to get that measuring test to sort of assess where your team at is in November
02:24 and December.
02:25 And then once you get to conference play, then you can say, "Okay, we're battle-tested.
02:28 Let's go and let's see if we can put the grind on here and win a national championship."
