00:00All right, on the phone right now is a man who's going to be here March 3rd at the Strawberry Festival.
00:04He is a Texas boy.
00:05He started out, I'm telling you, riding around in his truck, playing gigs, you know, spending more money in gas than he was actually making on these gigs.
00:14And now he's got one of the sweetest tour buses of all time.
00:17And there's a few of them, by the way.
00:18This guy's rolling deep now, and he's absolutely killing it.
00:21Give it up for Parker McCollum!
00:23Parker McCollum!
00:25What's up, dude?
00:26Heck of an intro. Heck of an intro. Thank you.
00:29We are here for you. We roll the red carpet for our guests, especially a Texas boy.
00:33Man, I remember seeing you play at venues like Whitewater Amphitheater, selling out three nights.
00:39Now we're a national act. You're going with Morgan Wallen on dates and George Strait.
00:44I mean, good Lord, man. You are absolutely crushing it. Congratulations on everything.
00:49Oh, yeah. Thank you, man. It's been great. We're very blessed.
00:54You know, we just had a really good chunk of time off, and we're already back to it on this tour.
00:58So, if you ain't working, it's probably not going well. We're blessed, man.
01:03Doing good. Well, this current single, Burn It Down Right Now, love it.
01:05Love this song, Parker. So good.
01:07Thanks, guys.
01:08I mean, you're happily married, but you write a song that is absolutely about just letting it rip and just letting it go down in flames.
01:17Does the wife ever look at you and go, where did that come from? We good?
01:22No, I think she's well aware we're great, man. She's as good as God can make them.
01:28So, her and I are always 100% on that front. I think she kind of likes some of the sad, heartbreak, love songs.
01:35You know, you sneak one in there for her every now and then. Well, she's got a whole song with her entire first name as the title.
01:43So, you know, I think she's good on that front. She likes the sad songs.
01:48Has she ever given you any ideas of her own for songs that you've used?
01:53Well, there was one time I wrote this song. I wanted to cut it on my last record, but it's called Hope That I'm Enough.
01:59And I wrote it one night. She was on the couch, and the dog was breathing on her neck.
02:03And I was playing guitar, and she said she was talking to the dog, said, I can feel you breathing on me.
02:08And so I started this song with, you know, I can feel you breathing is the first line of the song.
02:15So, she's showing the dog has worked its way into a few of them.
02:18I love it.
02:19Thank you to the wife. Thank you to the dog for that. We appreciate it so much.
02:23Talking to Parker McCollum right now, March 3rd, going to be at the Strawberry Festival.
02:27Dude, this is a fun time. People come out for this, and they're going to be excited to see you.
02:32Tell me about your experiences playing in Florida.
02:35Florida's always been really good to us, man.
02:38It's crazy how good it's been to us and how little we've actually played there.
02:41You know, we actually have had, I want to say there were two different weekends of shows during COVID that we had booked.
02:52And so it's, you know, I feel like we're just now, last year and this year, kind of making our way over there.
02:57And really, you know, we did a Country Thunder out there last year, and we love Florida, man.
03:02That's like the Texas of the East Coast, right?
03:04Has he ever played our amphitheater? I mean, he played our guitar pole.
03:07Right.
03:08You said you did Country Thunder. I don't know if he's ever been at the amp, have you?
03:11He has not been at the amp, and I don't think he, and he obviously hasn't played at the Strawberry Festival before either.
03:17Wow.
03:17So here we go. We're christening you in Florida.
03:20Yeah, I would agree with you. I moved here from Texas.
03:23So yeah, I'd say there's a little Texas here in Florida, no doubt about it.
03:26Yeah, it's a little wild out there, too. You know, Texas is a little loose.
03:29You know, it's a little loose.
03:31It's a little loose out here, too, man.
03:34Yeah, Florida's loose. Yeah, I'm a Florida fan.
03:38Well, we appreciate it, man.
03:39Well, I've got to say this before we let you go.
03:41You know, you've got such a unique voice.
03:43It's one of those things where when you start singing, you know who's singing right away,
03:46which is the sign of any great artist.
03:49What do you say your hardest song to sing live is?
03:52What's tough for you?
03:55Stoned, probably.
03:56Stoned?
03:58Yeah, it's kind of towards the end of the set.
03:59And so night, you know, once you're the third, fourth night of the week singing in a row,
04:05and you got stoned, like, I think it's six, five or six songs in the last five or six songs of the show.
04:11So, you know, you're feeling it by then.
04:13And then that song, the bridge, the until I get, until I get, until I get over you.
04:21Oh.
04:23It's real hard to, I have to, like, be ready for it and, like, get in the right bodily position and, like, flex my cords.
04:30You really, you know, you can't be running around throwing guitar picks during that part.
04:34He's got the X's on the stage.
04:36This is where I'm going to stand during Stones.
04:39Very nice, man.
04:40And what's your pause?
04:41Some nights it sounds good, some nights it doesn't.
04:43Yeah.
04:44Well, Parker McCollum, I'm going to be at the Strawberry Festival on March 3rd, brother.
04:47We appreciate you so much, and we will see you soon, all right?
04:51Thanks for having me on, guys.
04:53Appreciate y'all time.
04:53All right, Parker.
