00:00Hello there. After a record-breaking summer, we now move into meteorological autumn.
00:07The day ahead looks fairly mixed. An area of low pressure sat to the north of the UK will bring
00:12weather fronts to Scotland, Northern Ireland,
00:14and then a further weather system moving in through Tuesday night and Wednesday to give a spell of rain across
00:19central swath of the UK in particular.
00:22So the week ahead remaining fairly unsettled, but it does turn increasingly humid as the week moves on.
00:28A wet start this morning across Scotland. Some strong winds here too as this weather front slowly pushes south-eastwards
00:35through the day.
00:36A bright start elsewhere with sunny spells. Scattering of showers across parts of Wales, the west country, these slowly pushing
00:42eastwards through the day,
00:43but much of south-east England remaining dry. The weather front bringing cloud and shallery rain into Northern Ireland,
00:49Northern England through into the afternoon with sunshine and blustery showers following on in Northern Scotland.
00:55Fresher here. Temperatures 16 to 19 Celsius for most, reaching the low 20s. 22, 23 Celsius possible across south-east
01:05England in the best of the sunny spells.
01:07And generally overall, humidity levels a little lower than the last few days, so a fresher feel, particularly in western
01:13areas.
01:14Frontal system where the rain is across southern Scotland, Northern Ireland, Northern England remains here through the evening time,
01:20only to be replaced by thicker cloud and outbreaks of rain during the early hours moving in from the Atlantic.
01:26So a wet end to the night across parts of Northern Ireland, western parts of England and Wales.
01:31Clear skies across Scotland. A northerly breeze here introducing some cool air, so temperatures dipping into single figures,
01:38but generally elsewhere with a lot of cloud around and the outbreaks of rain. Temperatures around 15 or 16 Celsius.
01:43Clear breaks across south-east England could give one or two mist and fog patches.
01:48So a wet start across Northern Ireland into southern Scotland, Northern England, Wales, the Midlands through Wednesday morning.
01:55The heavy rain pushing its way eastwards could lead to some tricky travelling conditions at times,
02:00with showers following on behind across Wales down into south-west England, but brightening up here too.
02:05A blustery south-westerly breeze, but drawing in some warm and humid air here.
02:09So temperatures lifting in any brighter spells, 23, 24 Celsius possible.
02:14Under the cloud and rain, Northern Ireland, Northern England, southern Scotland around 20 degrees and still quite chilly,
02:19despite a dry day and sunny spells across Northern Scotland, 15 Celsius as a top temperature here.
02:26Into the evening time, we'll see showery outbreaks of rain continuing to pull away,
02:30and then over the next few days it does remain rather warm and humid across England and Wales on Thursday
02:35and Friday.
02:36Some sunny spells, but the risk of some rain pushing through at times too.
02:40And then in the weekend, there are signs of high pressure starting to build in from the south,
02:45which may settle the weather down for a time, and temperatures just dropping nearer to average as well.
