00:00Hello there, welcome to your latest forecast from the Met Office.
00:04Low pressure sat to the north of the UK at the moment,
00:07driving in some bands of rain and showers from the northwest.
00:11Some stronger winds developing, particularly across northern Scotland.
00:15Bands of rain pushing south and eastwards over the next few days,
00:19feeling more autumnal for many of us.
00:21Though today it has been warm and it continues to be a warm evening across the southeast.
00:26Showery rain across northern Ireland and Scotland pushes slowly southeastwards as we head overnight.
00:31Some of the rain could be heavy at times, but generally fragments into showers.
00:35The southeast largely staying dry.
00:37Behind us across northern Ireland and Scotland, a mixture of clear spells and showers.
00:42And some fresher air moving in up here, so temperatures around 12 or 13 Celsius overnight.
00:48Still mild, rather muggy across England and Wales, temperatures 15 to 17 Celsius.
00:53So a mixed start to Monday morning.
00:56A band of rain across northern England, Wales and southwest England will slowly push southeastwards,
01:01but fragment into just a band of cloud as it reaches southeast England.
01:05So here largely staying dry.
01:07Sunny spells following, but another area of rain developing across northern Ireland into Scotland,
01:12turning increasingly blustery here.
01:14And very strong winds across northwest Scotland.
01:16Guts of 40 to 50 miles an hour or so may lead to some local disruption.
01:21Fresh air here, temperatures around 14 or 15 Celsius.
01:24Still warm though in the sunshine across central southern parts of England and Wales.
01:29The low to mid-twenties highs around 26 Celsius across London.
01:34Into the evening time, the band of rain across southern Scotland and Northern Ireland will sink its way southwards.
01:39Another area of rain moving from the Atlantic across much of central southern parts of England and Wales overnight,
01:46turning heavy at times.
01:48Further north, a mixture of clear spells and showers.
01:50Showers blustery and frequent across much of Scotland, where it will remain on the windy side as well.
01:56And temperatures generally 10 to 12 Celsius in the north and a little fresher further south at 12 to 14
02:03degrees.
02:03So it does mean a wet start for central southern parts of England and Wales Tuesday morning.
02:08Blustery showers elsewhere.
02:10The rain slowly clearing away.
02:11And then most will have a day of sunshine and showers.
02:14Showers most frequent across the northern half of the UK.
02:17Some of them heavy.
02:18The risk of hail and thunder.
02:20And the wind's starting to change direction.
02:22More of a northerly airflow across the UK.
02:24So just feeling chillier out there for many.
02:27But in the sunshine towards central and south-eastern parts of England, temperatures around 21, 22 Celsius.
02:35So nearer to average, but feeling quite pleasant with lighter winds here.
02:38Chilly elsewhere.
02:39An extra layer may be needed.
02:41And a ridge of high pressure.
02:42Looks like it may build in for Wednesday to give a drier, brighter day for everyone.
02:47Some chilly nights to come, though, ahead of further rain on Thursday.
02:51And again, another drier day on Friday.
02:53So it is staying mixed as we move through the week ahead.
02:58And temperatures generally near average for the time of year.
03:00When the rain comes through, it will be on the chilly side.
