00:03And a bit of a north-west-south-east split with our weather through the course of the day today.
00:08Looking at the bigger picture, satellite imagery, this area of cloud across the north and the west
00:13in association with an area of low pressure, whilst high pressure sits to the south-east of the UK,
00:18meaning warm southerly airstreamed, but also increasing amounts of sunshine.
00:23We have had some rain though through this morning, pushing north and eastwards across England and Wales.
00:28Over the next few hours, this should clear out into the North Sea.
00:31Some showery outbreaks of rain, some cloud and stronger winds across the north-west of the UK as well.
00:36But you can see that sunshine moving in across England and Wales.
00:39So through the afternoon, plenty of hazy sunshine across England and Wales.
00:43There is the chance of a few showers across parts of Kent there.
00:46One or two of them could be on the heavy side, but I think most places staying dry.
00:50Cloudier skies across Northern Ireland, north-west England into Scotland.
00:54Some heavier rain developing across north-west Scotland, showery outbreaks for Northern Ireland as well.
01:00The wind's coming in from the south, but turning increasingly brisk around Irish Sea coasts up into western Scotland as
01:06well.
01:06We could see some gales developing in here.
01:08But the direction of the wind, it does mean we are importing some very warm air for the time of
01:13year.
01:14In the sunshine across England and Wales, the mid-twenties likely, and then up to around 27, 28 Celsius towards
01:20south-east England.
01:21Under the cloud, a little cooler, but still warmer than yesterday, reaching around 20, 21 Celsius for parts of Scotland
01:27and Northern Ireland.
01:28In the sunnier breaks between the rain, but add on the strength of the wind, it may just feel a
01:33little cooler than this.
01:35As we head into the evening time, a fine end to the day for much of England and Wales.
01:39These weather fronts just slowly slip south and eastwards as we move overnight, but generally fragmenting into showers as they
01:45do so.
01:47Behind it, clear spells and showers moving in for Northern Ireland and north-west Scotland, remaining quite breezy here.
01:53And this weather front will be the dividing line between some fresher air across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
01:58So temperatures overnight, generally in low double digits, and then mild across England and Wales, 15 to 17 Celsius.
02:05So quite an uncomfortable night for sleeping.
02:08And it does mean a showery, cloudy start to the day for parts of Northern England, Wales, south-west England,
02:13as this then band of rain slowly pushes its way south-eastwards, but really fragmenting into very little as it
02:19reaches south-east England by lunchtime.
02:21Just a band of cloud. Behind it, some sunny spells, but another band of rain pushing south-eastwards across Northern
02:27Ireland and Scotland.
02:28And then accompanied by some strong and gusty winds and showers as well across north-west Scotland.
02:33We could see 40 to 50 mile an hour gusts starting to develop through Monday afternoon across north-west Scotland.
02:38It could lead to some local disruption.
02:41Warm air holding on across south-east England.
02:43Temperatures again 25, 26 Celsius possible in the sunnier breaks, but a little fresher elsewhere.
02:48We're generally between 17 and 21 Celsius, so nearer to average for the time of year and feeling fairly pleasant
02:55in those sunnier breaks.
02:57Into Monday evening time, the band of rain across Northern Ireland and southern Scotland just pushes a little further southwards,
03:04but another area of rain likely to start pushing in from the south-west,
03:07which could give some substantial rain across parts of England for a time overnight into Tuesday morning.
03:14Blustery showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland to end the day.
03:17Very strong winds continuing across Northern Scotland.
03:21And it remains changeable through the week ahead.
03:24We'll see areas of rain and showers across the country.
03:27Perhaps Wednesday, a briefly drier day, before then further cloud and rain arrives again on Thursday.
03:33And temperatures for everyone, generally near average for the time of year, feeling a little chillier,
03:38where we do have those cloudier and rainier moments across the UK.
