00:00Just continue to make sure that what they want to get and where they want to get it to in
00:05the paint is something that has been evident.
00:07And we know that Korea is going to rely on those three-point shots, but the fact that there's not
00:12a ton of difference in how they've been able to capitalize has been huge.
00:16And Ghoulish, Buhner, because Buhner has been great this whole tournament, have been the go-to players.
00:22Ghoulish had at least eight points in all three group stage games.
00:26Ghoulish has accelerated her role today and has taken advantage of some of Korea's limitations in the paint.
00:37And she's 6'5", and so Germany came into this knowing exactly what they wanted to get.
00:42Right back to work, Geisel Suda gets a turn.
00:48And Niera Saboli has done a really nice job in being on the attack.
00:52Think about how many times she's put it on the deck, penetrated, and either made a play for herself or
00:57for a teammate.
00:59It's now 30 points in the paint for Germany.
01:02Korea has 29 points total.
01:06Leakout.
01:07Saboli runs the floor so well.
01:10Geisel Suda pounds the ball into the ground and lays it in.
01:17Authoritative, Luisa Geisel Suda.
01:19Authoritative in Germany has just been a machine in how they've been automatic of where they want to get the
01:26ball to, right at the front of the rim.
01:29That's exactly the two, that last possession.
01:31She had a wide-open teammate on the corner from three, but their intentions are to get it in the
01:36paint.
01:39Quick on the turn, realizes that not only had a little height advantage, but a physicality in her frame.
01:47That's a power move.
01:53Foul committed on the other end, so Esau Kang gets a pair at the line.
02:04Germany lost to France in the quarterfinals at the Paris Olympics, and here they are, just their second-ever World
02:11Cup, both times as the host country, playing here at Berlin Arena.
02:16They finished 11th back in 98, their last appearance, and 4th in 1967, and they identified as the East German
02:24team.
02:25So they're on the brink of some history, should they continue to light it up like this.
02:31Dobbs streaking in the paint to float it home.
02:35Back up 21.
02:42Park to E, step through on, couldn't scoop it home.
02:48Saboli's handle, Sarah, back on display.
02:55Feebush displays patience.
02:57Germany wants another paint touch.
03:02Taub, couldn't lay it home.
03:05Nice take, though.
03:06Germany's getting pretty much anything they want in how they're getting to the hoop.
03:13Swing on the perimeter, skip pass, E.
03:19Rebound, Geisel Suda.
03:21And Brandon, think about, we haven't seen a lot of clean looks for Korea, especially from the three-point line.
03:26Germany has been staying attached defensively.
03:30It's not been the same type of Korea team that they've been able to have them scrambling.
03:37E. Bish missed the jumper short, and it's reeled in by Park.
03:41And the Los Angeles Sparks has played a 33 games for Los Angeles this year.
03:46On a good look at one.
03:47There it is.
03:49Tee it up.
03:51But that's going to be a part of it for Korea.
03:55To get some cleaner looks from three.
04:01Can they move Germany around enough?
04:03Can they get them to scramble?
04:04And also, the inability to get stops, it slows the game down.
04:08They're taking the ball through the net, so they haven't been able to get out in the open court
04:11as much as they would like it play at that fast tempo.
04:16And there's the foul.
04:20As Choi reaches across against the arm of Feebisch.
04:28Geisel Suda.
04:29Touch pass to Feebisch for three.
04:32That could get her going first triple for Leone Feebisch today.
04:36That's all it takes.
04:37That's all it takes for a shooter of the caliber of Feebisch.
04:41Just 15% in group stage competition, which is now over.
04:46We're in the quarterfinal qualifier round.
04:48The winner faces Belgium Thursday in the quarters.
04:52Nifty flick by Kong.
04:54Nice try and take by Kong.
04:56Yeah, and I think for Germany, even Feebisch herself, we've already talked about it.
05:01She has an impact in so many different areas on the floor.
05:06And you don't worry about her eventually getting that rhythm going.
05:11However, if you're Germany and you're thinking about, yes, today, but also as you move further
05:16in the tournament, you're going to need Feebisch to start making some three-point shots
05:21if you want to continue to advance.
05:24So I think that's just a positive sign in general for the group.
05:30You mentioned her three-point sharp shooting in the WNBA, a career 43% three-point shooter.
05:43And that's the same clip she has this season.
05:46Limited action with the Liberty.
05:49Feebisch has been limited due to some injuries, battled the left foot, returned to play prior
05:53to the FIBA break.
05:54So those last couple of games with New York served as a tune-up for this.
06:02It's great to see her out there.
06:04Already without Satsu Saboli, now her new teammate in New York.
06:09Skip pass to Peterson.
06:10Buhner back to Peterson.
06:12Slick crossover.
06:13Shot clock to three.
06:14Buhner separates.
06:16And took her time with the right to shovel it home.
06:19Again, another beautiful seal, this time by Buhner.
06:23On the inside, the low block creates enough room.
06:25And those passes and entry passes into the post, especially from the top of the key,
06:31have been on point, leading right to buckets.
06:37Korea already four team fouls in this third quarter.
06:43Earlier today in quarterfinal qualification action, Hungary beat Japan.
06:49So the United States knows its opponent for Thursday.
06:52Dorka Yuhasz of the Minnesota Lynx gets to face Nafisa Collier.
07:05Buhner's posting up.
07:07Geisel Suda missed the reverse.
07:12Korea loves to run.
07:13Fourth highest scoring team in group stage play.
07:16Kong tracks down her own miss.
07:23Stop and start by Hiyo.
07:28And there's a lid on that rim right now for Korea.
07:31Yeah, even some of those looks around the basket, quicker, shorter shots.
07:36And part of that, too, sometimes you get a little rushed and deterred with the length that Germany has presented.
07:46And Germany's bigs run the floor very well.
07:49They've got great mobility.
07:50They run the floor.
07:52Normally they rim run.
07:53Many of them, including we continue to see with Sabley, how she can get it and go and be on
07:57the push.
07:59And you've said it all game, it's also just their ability to keep movement on the defensive end.
08:07I think coming into this one, you expected maybe a little bit more of a scrambling nature or Korea being
08:14able to take advantage with their quickness and the movement.
08:16And that has not been the case here early on.
08:20Here's the first adjustment of Korea.
08:22Ghoulish into the game for the first time in the second half and immediately doubled.
08:29Korea, though, over the limit.
08:31Ghoulish fouled and heads to the line.
08:33Now up to 15 points.
08:36Former 12th overall pick of the Phoenix Mercury in 2018.
08:40Starred at Oregon State.
08:42And then went on and continues to progress as a pro overseas.
08:48Particularly now in Australia.
08:5323-point lead for the German national team.
08:57Long two trickles off the iron into the lap of Peterson.
09:03Korea shooting just 32% from the floor.
09:06Germany 49%.
09:07A bulk of their points in the paint.
09:13Ghoulish.
09:23Long rebound, Buhner.
09:2511 points today.
09:29She got caught on the wrist.
09:33Frieda Buhner of the Portland Fire heads to the free throw line.
09:4236 paint points for Germany.
09:46Just 14 for Korea.
09:50And not to mention, Germany has done, as you have shown, a nice job of getting themselves
09:57to the free throw line.
09:59Already shooting their 13th and 14th free throw attempt here with Buhner at the line.
10:05Meanwhile, just two so far for Korea.
10:08And that's been a part of what's been kind of going on with them through the course of this
10:13entire tournament.
10:14They were the fewest in group play.
10:16And a big part of it is because of how they play in shooting those three-point shots.
10:20But that's another area you point to that there has been a disparity.
10:28Still Korea ball.
10:31Showed Buhner's numbers.
10:3213 points at 19 against Japan.
10:3521 against Mali.
10:36So three games in double figures for Frieda Buhner.
10:42Just four points in the opener.
10:44Portland Fire folks are really excited about what they've watched.
10:50in Berlin.
10:52And what Buhner can bring to the table.
10:56The hard work she's put in.
10:58It's going to help their group down the stretch.
11:02Some of the staff on site, they've curated plans for all their players.
11:07Never mind who plays for each country.
11:08And that's the neat part, too, of seeing some WNBA folks at the two arenas in Berlin, Germany,
11:14to see how they can maybe take what they've done to sacrifice for their respective countries
11:18to bring it back for the second half of the year.
11:20I think that's the amazing part that we always love to see in World Cup play, in Olympic,
11:26any time individuals are playing for their national team.
11:29And sometimes, to your point, showcase different roles, different skill sets, what that does,
11:35and their evolution and their growth.
11:37And you need different things at different times.
11:40But overall, having those types of opportunities for the players themselves,
11:44and also for opportunities as you look down the line in your career.
11:49Heo's pass is deflected and stolen.
11:53Petersen's had a great nose for the ball today.
11:56Behind the back dribble.
11:59Germany in complete control.
12:01Winner plays Belgium on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
12:04It's looking like the host country, undoubtedly, right now.
12:10And you mentioned roles.
12:11I think that's for us, too, you know, as you watch.
12:13What, our roles?
12:15In the booth?
12:16Oh, okay.
12:17Sorry.
12:18I don't know.
12:19Are you trying to tell me I'm talking too much?
12:21No, no, no.
12:23But even we see with USA, so sometimes your roles are expanded with how you play
12:29and what you're doing with representing your country.
12:32Sometimes, I don't know if limit is the right word,
12:35but you need to let, there's so much talent on that USA roster
12:38and just fitting in exactly what you need, how you need it,
12:41what that complements.
12:42And that's where the building of chemistry comes into play.
12:46It sounds easy, but provide what each game demands and needs.
12:55There's E for the jump shot.
12:57E's had a nice day from the field.
12:59Absolutely.
12:59The fun of the rhythms of input.
13:01We came into this one.
13:02Okay, who's going to be able to impose their will
13:04and how they want to play the style, the tempo.
13:08What does that look like?
13:09Germany clearly has been able to do that,
13:11but stylistically so many of these teams come in in different ways,
13:16and so the matchups in many cases become predicated on how that looks
13:22and as the tournament continues on, what effects that will have.
13:28This was Ghoulish who got hit by E on the shoulder.
13:33Ghoulish two for two at the line, 16 points to lead Germany.
13:40In pursuit of a place in the last eight.
13:43Belgium awaits the winner.
13:53And again, all quarterfinal games are on Thursday.
13:58There's another pair of quarterfinal qualifiers tomorrow for the countries that won their groups.
14:08Got a couple of days off.
14:09That was the reward.
14:13On, zips it out to E.
14:18So he, E, short on the three.
14:2162-38 Germany.
14:24Rimrun, Ghoulish, outlet.
14:27Buhler missed it short.
14:36G.M. Park finds Kahn and cleared by Ghoulish.
14:47Gledges two points in the first quarter, 15-6.
14:51Coming off the bench with a spark.
14:56Buter had it poked from behind.
15:01Germany tries to catch up with Korea.
15:03And they do to settle in the half court.
15:09Anzla pass is picked off.
15:12Korea up to 11 turnovers.
15:14And just seven for Germany.
15:17And that was another area where you wondered if Korea would be able to take advantage,
15:21create some turnovers to generate offense, points off of it.
15:26And Germany has taken care of the ball really well.
15:28And if anything, that has been a formula for them.
15:32It's a tight window.
15:35Buter tried to toss it into Ghoulish.
15:37There was contact by Korea.
15:41Ghoulish back to the free-throw line.
15:47We talked about the size of Germany.
15:50Not to get too far ahead, but Belgium being next.
15:54Miesemann is a handful under Mike Thiebaud.
15:57I'm curious how their bigs battle against each other.
16:02Should that be the matchup?
16:03That's a fun thing to start to begin to look at and what that looks like and kind of the
16:09balance of it.
16:09Because I do think there's some similarities for both of these teams and how they can play the matchups.
16:15You can look at some of the perimeter play and guard play where Miesemann, a key part of that.
16:20But also overall, their ability to shoot the three-point shot and get it in the paint.
16:32For Germany, I think you see them continue to improve as this tournament has gone on.
16:37So right now, the way the score sits, we've still got a little more than a quarter left.
16:42The way the score sits, it's one about closing out this game, but also how are you using this to
16:49continue to build on the rhythm you have,
16:51the momentum that you have, and how you're preparing yourself for later in this tournament.
16:58And a turnover for Korea, plus the combination of the Julies, Almond, and Van Loo.
17:05That's that perimeter play.
17:07Three-point shooting, playmaking, how they share and pass the basketball.
17:12I mean, if it does get to that point, that's going to be a fun one to see.
17:21Final minute, third quarter.
17:27Nice idea by Bielefeld.
17:33Deflected out of bounds.
17:41There's a foul there.
17:51I'm sure while Germany would prefer the rest, again, Spain won Group A, they came in first.
17:56Germany did go 2-1.
17:57You do get an opportunity again to fine-tune.
18:01Of course, you've got to win the game because it's a knockout game.
18:04But just to give them a little boost going into Thursday.
18:08See, it's a catch that rhythm.
18:10I do.
18:10I think that matters.
18:12I also think in some capacity, just put yourself in this position with that type of pressure
18:18and being a knockout situation, how they came out and played has been very impressive.
18:31Sontag sends it upstairs.
18:35Gian Park, the rebound.
18:38Shot and game clock.
18:42Close, but a second difference.
18:46Park swerves and hits nothing but net.
18:55And Park's first basket after an 0-for-5 start.
19:01Three quarters in the books.
19:02Germany's lead is 28.
19:0513-4 run.
19:06They have been all over Korea, suffocating defense, leading to offense.
19:12Fourth quarter coming up.
19:14Our schedule this week on TNT Sports, we have another quarterfinal qualifier.
19:20Taking place on HBO Max first at 11.45.
19:23And then at 2.45, we'll have Australia and Italy, who put some fright in the United States.
19:31Ooh, they certainly did.
19:33Earlier in the week.
19:35We'll get our first up-and-close look at Australia, led by Sandy Bondello.
19:39Plenty of WNBA flavor on that squad.
19:41So stay tuned for Wednesday coverage, day six of the FIBA World Cup.
19:51Vilka set the feet.
19:54This is the three-pointer.
19:56There was a foul after the fact.
19:59Germany wins.
20:01They're facing Belgium Thursday in the quarterfinals.
20:03This is the first two-pointer.
20:06This is the first two-pointer.
20:07Olaf Lang, born in Berlin in 1972.
20:11First time as Germany's head coach.
20:16This is his first major international event as the head man.
20:20Yeah, he started his coaching career in 1995 when he guided the U-20 men's team in Germany
20:27and then the Russian women's national team along the way.
20:30And we know you've mentioned the husband of Sandy Bondello, the head coach of the Toronto Tempo.
20:36He's the associate head coach, but he's also been on staff in San Antonio, Chicago, New York.
20:42So just a wealth of experience, of knowledge, and obviously got to be fairly happy, I think, with this group
20:50so far in this game.
20:53Without a doubt.
20:56And just taking a look at the bracket on our end of things here.
21:00I don't think there's a way for Sandy and Olaf to meet unless they get to the gold medal game.
21:06They're on opposite sides of the bracket.
21:09The winner of Italy, Australia, takes on Spain, which won Group A.
21:16The Group Germany, the host country, is featured in.
21:20But I'd be for it.
21:21Olaf against Sandy.
21:23It'd be fun.
21:24Olaf used to work with Sandy as the assistant.
21:27That's a lot of corporate knowledge.
21:29No one would talk about a chess match.
21:34Bragging rights back in Toronto.
21:38Sabali, a member of the Tempo, and she got held on the arm.
21:41One at the end, one.
21:46Sabali was really important to set the tone in this game early on.
21:49Huge, huge.
21:50And I mentioned it early.
21:52There was a forcefulness and intentionality by Germany to do exactly this.
21:56What they've done this entire game, getting it in paint, getting the post, the front of the rim,
22:00already 38 points in the paint to just 16 for Korea, and Sabali a huge part of that.
22:08And also just showcasing the ability, which we've seen.
22:11You've mentioned this with a lot of the rim running bigs, but to get it and push, to be able
22:15to play, make, and create,
22:16show her facilitation ability.
22:19It's a solid team, and I think they're starting to come together at a time when you want to.
22:27We mentioned just their second appearance in the World Cup.
22:33German's men's team won 2023 FIBA World Cup, which was then, and then the Eurobasket in 2025.
22:42Obviously, you've got a chance to see a handful of those German players in the NBA.
22:48This is Dennis Schroeder in attendance the other day to support Germany.
22:55The Wagner brothers.
22:57It's a similar trajectory on the women's side.
23:02Just the growth, the growth, yeah, that men's team fourth place in the 2025 Olympics,
23:07and that also just goes to us continuing to talk about this World Cup,
23:11this FIBA Women's World Cup tournament, the talent across the board,
23:15and the growth overall for so many of these countries.
23:21Geisel Suda and Sabali, the two starting bigs, are on the floor right now,
23:27and then they just handed the baton to Ghoulish and Buhner,
23:31who are the leading scorers, who is 19 and Buhner with the 13.
23:35What a great point.
23:35Which is the depth that has been showcased here, top to bottom for this group.
23:39And it's been...
23:41Tuffco, Korea, you know, they showcased some fight.
23:46They're doing their best.
23:47They're trying to battle here, but it's not been enough defensively and offensively.
23:51We just haven't been hitting the threes in the same manner that we've seen.
23:55They've been tremendous through the course of this tournament with their level of efficiency.
23:59Second behind France at 43%, I believe, 44% for the tournament.
24:08And today, just 27%, sixth of 22.
24:12And if it's going to be that circumstance, it's tough to compete against this German team,
24:18as you can see in the score.
24:20Yeah, France at near 50% after their performance yesterday.
24:24Oh, my goodness.
24:24Wow.
24:27They have been locked in and ready.
24:32111 points, the World Cup high in 2026.
24:37The FIBA World Cup record, 145 by the United States back in 2022.
24:46So we approach seven minutes to play, fourth quarter.
24:50Brendan Glasheen, Sarah Kustak.
24:57So he, Park, thought about the three.
25:00So he, Park, thought about the three.
25:00Geun Park, hit the brakes and bank it in.
25:03Geun Park.
25:07Geun Park, the ninth leading scorer in this tournament entering today.
25:12Nice depth piece for the Los Angeles Sparks.
25:16They look to retool after what's been a really bumpy season.
25:24No, Kelsey Plummet, this FIBA World Cup.
25:31Plummet was traded to the Phoenix Mercury.
25:33Saboli powers through the defense to lay it in.
25:4176-49.
25:52Kang, no.
25:54Boarded by Feebush.
25:56Feebush now has 10 rebounds.
26:00Pulled in nine of them last time out against Mali.
26:04She'll fill up a box score.
26:05We see this with her importance.
26:08That New York Liberty team.
26:10See it, that's where she plays.
26:12Just a little bit of everything.
26:13And there you go.
26:15There's the bracket.
26:16See what the bracket looks like for the quarterfinals.
26:20Again, we've got these quarterfinal qualifiers over the next two days.
26:24Australia, Italy at the top of your screen.
26:27They'll face off tomorrow.
26:29Same can be said for Puerto Rico and China.
26:32Earlier today, Hungary beat Japan.
26:35So that's why we know the USA matchup.
26:39And then we'll be down to the last eight, as they call it.
26:42Let's go.
26:53A couple of substitutions by Olaf Lang.
26:59Everyone getting minutes for both countries, and especially for Germany.
27:03Looks to bolster its depth.
27:06Feebush.
27:08He's bottled up there and somehow got the shot away.
27:11And you're reminded Feebush is north of six feet as a wing.
27:16Talks a lot about their bigs, their posts.
27:18Feebush right there with them.
27:20Yeah, I mean, in the high release points, 6-3, she's got a strong frame on her.
27:25Beautiful-looking shot.
27:28We already mentioned that about the rebounds.
27:30And for her to, it was just an uptick.
27:33And she's, even, we've talked about the three-point shooting,
27:36which has been a little bit lacking, still averaging more than eight points a game
27:39through the course of those first three games of this World Cup tournament.
27:44So while shooting has been down, or efficiency has been down,
27:47from the eight rebounds per game, nearly five assists, playing almost 30 minutes.
27:52What she does defensively is extremely, extremely impactful.
27:57We'll step aside from Berlin Arena and come back for the home stretch.
28:01Germany is tasting the quarterfinals.
28:05And we're back in Berlin.
28:07The host country has a couple of bigs off the pine that were ready to play today.
28:12They were, and they did a great job, not only in how they were finishing around the rim,
28:16but you look at this passing, there's spacing, there's balance,
28:19and just a really nice job of being methodical in where and how they want to get the ball to.
28:24Look at that.
28:25It's just four-out set, and they went to work on the inside.
28:28There wasn't a whole lot that Korea was able to do against them.
28:32Look at those numbers for a Ghoulish and a Buhner,
28:34who everyone understands their role in getting some of those moments.
28:38Buhner has been excellent through the course of this entire tournament.
28:41And Ghoulish relied upon heavily here today, and she has come through.
28:46Tournament high for Ghoulish, without a doubt.
28:50Previous high was 11.
28:52Buhner had a 21-point performance against Molly.
28:58Phoebus, the defense.
29:00Second swat for Leone Phoebus in the ballgame.
29:04Defensive prowess using that length.
29:07We talked about the size she presents.
29:09She's got a quickness.
29:11So much of it is her timing and feel.
29:15Maybe the touches.
29:16She tries to save that.
29:20Heads up play.
29:21Phoebus, one of six, New York Liberty,
29:23participating at the FIBA World Cup.
29:26And you want to talk role acceptance,
29:28understanding what your country demands and needs of you.
29:32You are watching Raquel Carrera with Spain.
29:35Marine Johannes coming off the bench for France.
29:41They're used to that in New York that has championship expectations.
29:49They won the title in 2024.
29:51Phoebus was on that squad.
29:52So was Johannes.
29:53Huge part of it.
29:55It's a bit crazy to think, too.
29:56As you look at expansion, Vilka cans a triple.
30:01And now with the new collective bargaining agreement in the WNBA,
30:04you can't keep everybody ultimate sacrifice in the dollars
30:08for some of their marquee players.
30:10Then you look at the role pieces,
30:11such as Johannes and Phoebus,
30:13what they bring to the table.
30:16I would imagine that's really beneficial
30:19to have that idea in the summertime
30:22to then carry it over to your country.
30:32Phoebus chooses the ball screen.
30:33No option on the roll.
30:35Geisel Suda swings it.
30:36Peterson.
30:37Got it.
30:39Alexis Peterson.
30:41Seven points.
30:43Smooth looking shot.
30:44In the previous highlights we showed
30:46of how much Germany was getting the ball on the inside.
30:49What you saw was everyone around the perimeter.
30:52And because they still have shooters,
30:54some very good shooters from the three-point line,
30:57those that can hit on the intermediate,
30:59that's where you still, as a defense,
31:01and what Korea needed to do was still stay out on them
31:03and respected them
31:04because they did enough to vary up
31:06hitting from the perimeter to open up that paint.
31:14Phoebus going to become the fourth,
31:21rather fifth,
31:23German player to edge double figures today.
31:26Two more around the rim by
31:28Hyron Lee,
31:31the game-leading scorer for Korea.
31:35Now has 21 points.
31:39So that's a strong take there.
31:43Nine points in the quarter as well for E.
31:46We'll step aside and come back to Berlin.
31:49Germany is tasting the course.
31:51A place in the last eight
31:54and just putting on the finishing touches
31:57to an outstanding performance.
31:59They really feasted in the painted area.
32:02Berlin Arena holds 17,000,
32:04the primary home of this tournament.
32:06Second time Germany hosts.
32:08And you go back to 1998.
32:10They were bouncing around in city to city.
32:13Seven different cities in 98
32:15when Germany last hosted.
32:22Belgium awaits the German national team
32:24for Thursday's quarterfinal.
32:26And we talked about Korea.
32:29They're sharpshooting.
32:31They just hit five threes today.
32:35Six threes that they depart in this ball game.
32:38Seven threes in this knockout round.
32:41But it just hasn't been enough.
32:43They also have been unable to turn Germany over.
32:47So the cadence and the tempo of this game
32:50has benefited Germany in a big way.
32:53There's not been a lot of extra opportunities.
32:55So you look at some of the areas where for Korea,
32:59we probably hope to take advantage of some points off turnovers
33:03or getting it out in transition,
33:04going in the fast break.
33:06And none of that has been the way this one has went.
33:12Here we go, one shot.
33:14Here we go, one.
33:20Buehner has been terrific.
33:26Just 22 years old, has lived up
33:31to the billing on this big stage.
33:52Buehner, the catch and the lay-in.
33:55What a beautiful job.
33:57That's a great feat.
33:57And Germany, every time there has been a switch,
34:01they've tried to take advantage of that
34:03with some of these ball screens against Korea.
34:06And you get it on the inside with that size
34:09and the finishability for Germany.
34:11It's led to a lot of confidence
34:16and big-time breakout here.
34:23Germany ball.
34:24Buehner had nine first-quarter points,
34:26six in the fourth quarter.
34:27Part of the big day.
34:29Set the table.
34:31And as Germany awaits Belgium,
34:35talked about Miesemann,
34:36even Linskens provides.
34:39A depth piece in the middle at six-foot-three.
34:42And that's where it is.
34:43That's where the size,
34:44it'll be fun to watch
34:46what that looks like
34:47in terms of having those complimentary pieces.
34:53Kiera Linskens competes with the Phoenix Mercury
34:56and the WNBA.
34:57Led the way for Belgium at the quarterfinals.
35:00And banking in and one.
35:04Vilka hit the deck
35:05and still went window shopping.
35:08And that she did.
35:10A lot of window shopping here.
35:12Yeah.
35:13Club going on.
35:13A lot of Tuesday.
35:14A lot of Tuesday.
35:20Germany's motor has not stopped in this one.
35:28It's scored 83 points against Molly
35:30to wrap up group stage competition.
35:34It is a tournament high,
35:3692 points with a minute to go.
35:47The chants haven't stopped.
35:50How can you not be romantic
35:52with the game of basketball?
35:56And that's a great defensive possession.
35:58The chants have not stopped.
36:00And that's where I think you give Germany
36:02credit for how they've continued
36:04to build on this lead.
36:0517-point lead at the half.
36:08But it has been very businesslike
36:10in their approach of continuing
36:12to keep up that type of resistance
36:15and knowing the performance
36:17they wanted to put together as a whole.
36:25Germany had 30 baskets,
36:2826 assists last game.
36:3031 field goals.
36:3329 assists.
36:37Here today in Berlin.
36:42Bessoir cans the jumper.
36:4938-point lead.
37:01Still guarding their yard.
37:04That will do it.
37:06Germany is off to the quarterfinals.
37:27The host country gets to keep cheering
37:31on their squad.
37:33First time ever Germany heads to the quarters.
37:36They'll take on Belgium Thursday.
37:38It's a really dominant performance
37:40by this Germany team.
37:44Offensively, defensively,
37:45they came in with a very distinct game plan
37:48of how they wanted to attack,
37:50the way in which they expected to defend
37:53a hot three-pointing shooting team in Korea.
37:58And they nailed it in all different areas.
38:01And they got to feel good about the situation
38:03where they're at.
38:04An opportunity to continue playing
38:06in front of this home crowd.
38:08Let's take a look at our assist of the game
38:10presented by AT&T.
38:11Connecting changes everything.
38:13BU mentioned a 29 assist on the day for Germany.
38:17This was a beauty.
38:18Peterson collapses the entire defense.
38:21She finds a cutting big in Ghoulish
38:23who had an extraordinary day today
38:26in her movement off the basketball,
38:29working the paint,
38:30and paints the picture
38:32for what this bracket is going to look like
38:34moving forward.
38:35Quarterfinal Qualifier Tuesday is in the books.
38:38We've got two more of those quarter qualifiers tomorrow.
38:42We'll have you covered for Australia and Italy.
38:45We know USA faces Hungary Thursday.
38:48It's Belgium-Germany in the quarters.
38:53This is coming up Thursday morning,
38:555.30 a.m. Eastern Time.
38:56USA, Hungary, Nafisa Collier, Dorka Juhasz.
39:01They go head-to-head a couple of blinks.
39:02Pancakes ready.
39:03Actually, don't even go to sleep on Wednesday night.
39:07Let's ride this out and let's let it rock.
39:10I'm holding you to that, Sarah Christophe.
39:11Not us.
39:12Not us.
39:13We need to have our minds working deep.
39:17Four Germans in double figures
39:20led by Ghoulish and Buehner.
39:22They combine for 36 points.
39:25Germany, 94, Korea, 56.
39:28Germany is up to the quarterfinals
39:30for the first time
39:31in their women's basketball history
39:34at the FIBA World Cup.
39:35For Sarah Kustak, Brendan Glasheen
39:37saying so long.
39:38We'll see you tomorrow
39:39for Australia and Italy.
39:44Hooray.
