00:00later today on True TV. The bottom of the bracket is what's coming up over these next couple of
00:05hours. Sarah, this game features two of the top scores in the field. We'll start with Gabby
00:13Williams. Yeah, leading the tournament in scoring, but doing so in a variety of ways. I think the
00:18most impressive part is you look at the numbers and the level of accuracy that Williams has had.
00:23She's a slasher. She's got size explosiveness to get to the basket, but she has been draining
00:28threes along with the rest of her French team. And on the other side of things, Hanshu, you already
00:35mentioned it. The size of Chyna is what is so imposing. She's able to make herself available
00:40for teammates, play with her back to the basket, attack the glass, but she'll also stretch you out
00:4650% from the three-point lining, including a clutch three to help Chyna advance. Here's a look at your
00:52starting lineups. Janelle Salon, Gabby Williams' teammate in Golden State, is averaging
00:5810 points per game. Went for 19 in the last group stage game for France against
01:04Nigeria. Leila Lacan averaging three assists per game. And for Chyna, Hanshu, the four double
01:13doubles are the most at the FIBA World Cup in 2026. Great to have you with us here at
01:19Berlin Arena. Chyna opens with possession. They've won three games in a row since their
01:28loss to the United States to open Group D competition.
01:34Barriam Batillon falls on the basketball. First offensive trip for France, averaging 102 points per game. Here in Berlin, 57
01:44% shooting, 49% from three, about 16 makes a game. A mid-range shot to start for Williams.
01:51She's a three-level scorer and showcases that and her ability to find pockets.
01:57Gabby Williams did that early on, too, in a handful of the tournament games and group play, settling into shots.
02:04We'll see. Early on, no French defense. We're gonna pick up and put pressure on the basketball.
02:13Williams, the newly appointed captain of France, says playing for France is the most important thing of her career and
02:19life. There's a different kind of pressure and pride with that role in representing her country.
02:26Went for 25 points against Nigeria. Lacan, the table setter. A dart into Williams. Fall away, Jay just crazes the
02:35iron. China ball.
02:39What's the path for China against this highly-volted attack of France?
02:44Well, highly-volted attack, I think you need to force, which they've done early on, despite Williams making that longer,
02:51too.
02:52Tougher, contested shots, handling the pressure. Don't give them extra opportunities.
02:58Young Shuyu is wrapped up inside and draws a ball.
03:02For as much as we can talk about France's offense, so much of it has been fueled by how they
03:08play defensively.
03:09Even this aggressiveness of spacing the floor, creating driving lanes, that France will try and turn you over.
03:17They'll pick you up full court. They'll get on the basketball. They're great getting in passing lanes.
03:21They have very good individual defenders to go along with the collective and how much synergy they have on that
03:28end of the floor.
03:29And for China, we talk a lot about their size. You're going to see it across the board.
03:35And that, though, includes an opportunity for them to then open up the floor.
03:40Because they've been a team that can knock down and hit three-point shots, but is being selected in that
03:46shot selection.
03:48Young Shuyu, team's leader in assists.
03:5113 points per game. Takes care of business out the line.
03:54We're tied at two.
03:56Badeon sets the screen. Williams finds her on the roll.
03:59Double dribble.
04:01Clunky 90 seconds to open.
04:04Dominique Molanga cheers from the sideline, the 20-year-old center.
04:10First size will be very necessary today against China.
04:15The fourth-leading rebounding team at this FIBA World Cup.
04:19Young Shuyu deep in the paint, flips with the left hand.
04:22Grabbed by Williams.
04:24Throws it ahead, Ayai.
04:27Three-time Olympian, Ayai.
04:31Lacan comes for the ball.
04:36Lacan for three.
04:37Oh, yeah.
04:39France picking up right where they left off.
04:42Numbers across the board for this tournament.
04:44First in points.
04:46Field goal percentage.
04:47Three-point percentage.
04:50Nearly 49 percent, and that's going to be key to continue to space China out.
04:58Young kicks it out, and the three ball to respond for China.
05:07Chang Man Man to tie the game.
05:10Lacan deep in the paint.
05:14You know, you mentioned France.
05:17We saw them last against Nigeria.
05:1922 three-pointers.
05:21A FIBA World Cup single-game record.
05:25Lacan gets them going.
05:26If China can hit threes, that's helpful.
05:29They make about seven a game so far here in Berlin.
05:31They make about seven a game.
05:32And that's an area, and sometimes it's tough to look at the numbers with how dominant France has been in
05:39all of their wins and the margin of victory.
05:41But that's been an area that they've not been quite as dominant.
05:44They've given up more three-point shots and more effectiveness from some of their opponents.
05:50Overall, though, the pace and how they dictate the tempo and the pace, so much of it, too, with what
05:56they do defensively, is going to be another question mark.
05:59Can they move and shift China around?
06:01Can they turn this into more of an up-and-down game?
06:05Lacan has five of France's seven points.
06:08China comes right back to tie the game.
06:12Shuyu's been great getting downhill.
06:16Young Shuyu, how they've been finding some of those areas within the context of this defense.
06:23The qualifiers was named an All-Star 5.
06:26Went for 15 last game.
06:29There's Williams.
06:34Two threes in the first three-and-a-quarter minutes for France.
06:43The winner of this game faces the winner of Belgium-Germany in the semifinals.
06:48That's going to be a good one.
06:51France in search of its first podium finish since the inaugural FIBA World Cup in 1954.
06:59Three-and-a-three.
06:59That still is stunning to say.
07:02Pour it inside.
07:04Ayai banks it in.
07:05So there's that push and transition.
07:07Some early offense.
07:09That's a great job by Williams in upping the tempo.
07:12But for Ayai, the footwork, the moves to be able to finish.
07:16Take away Williams.
07:20No surprise.
07:22The France captain has already got her fingerprints all over it.
07:28France averaging 32 points off turnovers through the course of this tournament.
07:33They get it going here early.
07:35The seven-point lead.
07:46Long Lu Ming, head coach of China.
07:50His second stint to this home country.
07:53They've got to find a way to slow down Gabby Williams.
07:56Seven of France's 14 points.
07:58We've seen her do it offensively and just how she's been able to square up and face the defense.
08:05See what they give her.
08:06She's been great at creating.
08:07But even a possession like that, a huge part of what she can do is get to with the picks
08:12and the steals.
08:14She'll bring a ton of pressure along with France.
08:16And because of that, they can gamble some.
08:18They've got length and they've got quickness.
08:21Williams is the World Cup's leading scorer.
08:24Second in total steals.
08:25Now up to nine with one theft in this first quarter.
08:28There she is again.
08:29Pokes it to Johannes, who just checked in.
08:33Hanshu takes flight.
08:34First bucket for Hanshu, who's averaging 18 a game.
08:41That slows the run, quells the enthusiasm slightly.
08:45Batty on.
08:46This is the mid-range J.
08:52Lua Xinyu floats it up and in.
08:55And what a job there by Lua.
08:58Just no one picks up the ball with much authority.
09:01And she just goes straight to the front of the basket.
09:054-0 run for China out of the timeout.
09:07Midway point, first quarter.
09:10Maureen Johannes has scored 17 points in each of the first three games.
09:14Williams off on the three.
09:20China sets up shot.
09:24Hanshu for three.
09:25Buries it.
09:27shooting 50% from deep in this tournament, her 10th three-pointer.
09:33That's huge.
09:34With how she can get you inside to be able to stretch and balance the floor at that level of
09:40efficiency.
09:43I said in that closeout game against Puerto Rico, she hit a huge step back three, under three minutes left
09:49to give China the lead.
09:51But I think some clutch plays, too.
09:55Johannes off to the races, scoops it home with the right.
09:58And that's what is going China's way.
10:01Mentioned three straight wins after the 30-point loss to USA.
10:05Another steal for France in the process.
10:07They played in close games.
10:10Two nail biters.
10:13In group play, end of the quarterfinal qualifier.
10:15Pauline Astier.
10:17Trickery doesn't get it to drop.
10:24Young Shuyu bank is open.
10:26A triple.
10:27China's first lead.
10:30Three-point line.
10:32Friendly to China.
10:32You said it.
10:33They're playing with a ton of confidence here.
10:37Seven points for Young Shuyu.
10:40Six in the white and red.
10:42Hit the brakes.
10:43Heat check.
10:46France on the run.
10:47Johannes, lob it.
10:49Salon, finish it.
10:52Track meet in Berlin.
10:55Both transition defense and limiting turnovers is going to be huge for China.
11:03That's one area that you've got such a narrow margin for error.
11:09Han Shuyu flicks it up and in, plus a foul.
11:13What a tough play.
11:15There's such a level of comfort by Han Shuyu as we've continued to see her evolve.
11:22Of course, a member of the New York Liberty.
11:24She's kind of one of her best seasons and you can see the, kind of how it translates here and
11:31how she's got such a bigger role.
11:33The numbers she's putting up, the movement, and at that size, at 6'8", though, she's got some really good
11:40lateral quickness in how she's able to get up and down the floor, but also her movements on the court.
11:49Han has been a member of the Chinese senior team since 2018.
11:54She balls out in the WCBA regular season MVP, two-time champion.
11:59And fresh off playing in Australia last offseason in the WNBL, defensive player of the year, all-second team pick.
12:07And what's really stood out is her efficiency, 50% from the field in New York this year, 40%
12:13from three.
12:14Johannes, her teammate in Brooklyn, recycled trip, and the clock needs to be adjusted after the offensive rebound.
12:24And so, we're talking a lot about Han Shuyu.
12:26She goes to the bench, in comes Chong Ziyue, 7'5", just 19 years old.
12:33She's already impressed, but China moves to a zone defense.
12:37And this is where there's a little bit of difference of Gong Lu Ming, of how he utilizes some of
12:43these bigs, and just the differences in their skill set.
12:46Both with a ton of size, but how that limits your defense, or in some ways, the ways in which
12:52you may play against this French team.
12:54It's the second day of a back-to-back for China.
12:57They played yesterday in their quarterfinal qualifier.
13:00Eked out that win against Puerto Rico.
13:03Beat Czechia in overtime.
13:05They had their backs against the wall.
13:08Johannes with four.
13:10Slithers into the paint.
13:11Oh!
13:11Show and go!
13:13Johannes!
13:15That's crafting.
13:17Woo-hoo!
13:18Because she realized Chong's under their waiting.
13:21She was expecting the dump off to Malongo.
13:24Instead of a clean look on the left.
13:41She'll have her hands full today against seven-foot-five.
13:45You know, Dong used to be the biggest player on the floor at 6'6".
13:48For Malongo, too, because Chong's got a little stronger of a frame.
13:54You see that beautiful play in Reed by Maureen Johanna.
13:58That's what she dug best.
14:00That's a smooth—that's a tough finish.
14:01She might have got hit onto the arm as well.
14:04For Malongo, though, up against Chong, and really say this against any—
14:07your work's got to be early.
14:10You've got to do exactly what she's doing here now.
14:12Push her off the block, off the positioning.
14:15Don't allow her the depth of being right around the rim,
14:18because that's where she's at her best.
14:21Ayai, a gallop.
14:23Feed to Malongo.
14:24Couldn't bank it in.
14:25Gets it back.
14:25And blocked by Chong.
14:28Still tend to shoot for France.
14:30We've been tied five times.
14:31Johannes skates off one foot, and Malongo was held inside.
14:38They also may have called a foul on the shooter.
14:43And it's on Josh Sacchi.
14:45And there you go back to that block of Chong and Malongo.
14:52And, yeah, I do think that initial call was on the shooter,
14:56as you see Johannes on the line.
15:01Green, Johanna, 17 points per game at this FIBA World Cup.
15:0456% from the floor, 52% from three.
15:08And an 80% free-throw shooting.
15:10And the quarter-finals of the 2026 FIBA World Cup.
15:40Turnover, Chyna.
15:42That's their fifth.
15:44Take a dead ball turnover or a live ball one.
15:48The possession game, though, is still.
15:50The possession game will become critical.
15:53And that's where France has been so good at turning teams over.
15:56Chyna commits the second most per game at this World Cup 19.
16:00Johannes sidestep three.
16:01She makes you believe in magic.
16:04She's amazing.
16:05Chyna, Johannes.
16:10Chyna, Johannes.
16:12Nine for Johannes.
16:15Off the bench in four and a half minutes.
16:18Chang Ziyu.
16:20Flick of the wrist.
16:21No good.
16:23Rebound Ayai.
16:25And it's held by Chen.
16:32You slow things down, because that's also where, if you have Chong that deep under the
16:38opposite basket to be able to then push and work the rim running, you see France getting
16:44excited there off the Johanna's three, sidestepper, and a kiss, the bang, he put a lot of those
16:54in this World Cup play.
16:55They throw multiple doubles, Chong Ziyu, the swat, runs the floor the other way, key stop
17:02for China, down just five, Chong Ziyu, at seven foot five, Malanga enforcing a held ball, the
17:12possession arrow points to France, there's no physical jump ball in FIBA.
17:17That's a really nice job by Malanga, first it was a block, what a battle, was there a battle
17:22from these two going at one another, Chong gets the best of Malanga to the other side,
17:27this time Malanga trying to get the rip, and overall that was a solid job by Chong keeping
17:33it high, so Johanna's couldn't come and get a strip off the help.
17:36Flair screen for late, a slick bounce to Malanga, three ball halfway down and out, shot clock is
17:42off for China.
17:48Wong sets up, averaging four assists per game.
17:53Chong, double, kick it, Wong, fake the pass, short on the three, Minya Toure, rips the rebound
18:03away, five point lead for France at the end of one, China's hanging around, multiple lead
18:09changes, multiple ties, one quarter into this quarter final in Berlin.
18:16In Berlin, Germany, home of the 2026 Women's Basketball FIBA World Cup, tight first quarter,
18:24five point edge for France, seven points off turnovers for France off six China giveaways.
18:30The characteristic of how they play, it's a huge part, we always know offense and defense
18:37go hand in hand, but more than anything with France and through the course of this turnover,
18:42that has been evident, they're gonna pressure you in multiple ways, they're gonna give different
18:47looks and different coverages, but one thing has been consistent, is that they all move in sync,
18:53they do a great job in their communication within it.
18:58Long see you, threw it inside, and then walked.
19:04Yeah, France threw three games of competition in Group B, the group winner, 32 points off turnovers
19:13per game.
19:14That's what, I mean, that's a significant, it is, it gives you the evidence to know why they've
19:23had such a large margin of victories, and these scores have ballooned.
19:27Johannes finds Valerie Ayani.
19:32Valerie Ayani of the Phoenix Mercury back in the WNBA after an 11-year hiatus.
19:39It's been a mainstay in the front court for the French national team.
19:45The pass intended for Wong, dead ball turnover, but China gives it back to France.
19:56More turnovers, it's gonna be, to me, one of the biggest things to continue monitoring.
20:03And as you see those scoreless last six-plus minutes, France is really locked down more defensively.
20:10Late gets downhill, and France gives it right back to China.
20:14China's committed 40 more turnovers than their opponent in World Cup play.
20:21Fourth game for China.
20:23They played a quarterfinal qualifier yesterday.
20:26So, Gong Lu Ming continues to be rapid with his substitutions, keep fresh bodies on the floor.
20:40Han Shoes in the ballgame, eight points to lead China.
20:46Chang Man Man, the point guard.
20:52Ayai almost stripped it from Han.
20:57And a reach-in foul by Ayai.
20:59That, though, is just an example.
21:00Look at how far extended Ayai in this French defense has China on the offensive side.
21:07You've got Han Sho all the way extended to that wing point.
21:10Some of those entry passes or the ability to really
21:15move and put the defensive rotations has been tough to do through the course of the end of that first
21:21quarter and start of the second.
21:24Plus, Han's a sharpshooter these days.
21:26Hey, you've got to get out at her.
21:30The range, she really is, though.
21:32I mean, to be shooting about 50% from three at that size with the rest of her skill set
21:40is really special.
21:43Another foul committed by France.
21:45I mean, to be shooting about 50% from three at that size with the rest of her skill set
21:54is really special.
21:55I mean, to be shooting about 50% from three at that size with the rest of her skill set
22:10is really special.
22:15Another whistle.
22:18Fouls have added up on this sequence against France.
22:22And Touré again, her second.
22:24And Touré is, she's doing her best.
22:27She's trying to push Honshu out, picks up the foul there off that block out.
22:32But even her trying to body up, be physical, not allow Honshu the inside position that she could be effective
22:42at.
22:42And that's where she's really good at just being strong, being physical.
22:45And now we've got another strong, physical, tall, big player coming in for Han.
22:51Touré's second person alike in college.
22:52Each player only allowed five personal fouls instead of six like you'll see in the WNBA.
22:58Fresh legs for Williams.
23:01After an excellent first quarter, skip it late three.
23:06Batty on did all she could against Honshu and thanks to that box out China ball.
23:11Well, you know, I shouldn't say four Honshu with Honshu.
23:14So now you're seeing both bigs as China doubles down on their sides.
23:18Have to take a count for both of them.
23:22Zone look by France and China cashes in Lua Xinyu from team.
23:31Lua Xinyu had 10 points in the Puerto Rico win to advance to this quarterfinal.
23:36Can Williams answer?
23:37Yes.
23:3810 points for Williams.
23:41Difference maker.
23:42Gabby Williams setting the tone early with some buckets.
23:46France just keeps settling in.
23:48That three-point line has been friendly for them.
23:52It's wild how efficient they have been.
23:56And a steal.
23:58Johannes, her first of the day, scans the landscape.
24:02Push pass late.
24:04A three ball.
24:05Right on cue.
24:07That's their sixth of this first half.
24:11And to go six of 11.
24:14The continuation to game after game, that's been consistent.
24:21Chung Ziyu.
24:23Low high with the pass to Honshu.
24:26Misses the jumper.
24:27Just the second miss for Honshu from the field.
24:33Williams to Johannes.
24:35Sizes up Honshu, her teammate in Brooklyn.
24:39Fake the shovel in, touch pass Williams.
24:43A flare to late.
24:47Ayai comes up empty inside.
24:50Chung Ziyu hit the floor, so it's four against five.
24:53But it don't matter for Chyna.
24:55Yangshuyu for two.
25:01Back to a nine-point game.
25:05Chyna in zone.
25:07They work it on the perimeter.
25:10Thaddeon just grazes the iron.
25:12Johannes in the right place.
25:16Johannes.
25:18Pass deflected.
25:20Check it off the fingertips.
25:22France turnover.
25:23And if you're Chyna, you'll take that.
25:26Because France has been pouring it in from the three-point line.
25:29They've worked the zone by getting a lot of those passing and the movement in it,
25:33even crashing the offensive glass.
25:37And that's where for Chyna, if you are going to be playing the zone,
25:40you have to be really mindful to find bodies and block out.
25:44550 to go in the first half.
25:51Gabby Williams has put on a show early on.
25:54So has her partner in crime, Marie Johannes.
25:59Who's got nine.
26:00Williams with 10.
26:0119 of the 34 points for France.
26:03Williams and Johannes have been putting on a show since this World Cup tournament began.
26:09And overall, it's been part of just the gelling and the chemistry you've seen overall for the group.
26:16Leading the team with nearly 19 points per game.
26:20Johannes was 17.
26:22Malanga Salah, you go down the list.
26:23And that's been a huge part of France's attack that has been so balanced.
26:28But they understand the moments and times when they need a go-to bucket, a go-to shot.
26:34And a lot of that has been on the start of Williams.
26:38Their chemistry's decent.
26:41Not bad, not bad.
26:44Young's pass picked off by guess who?
26:48Williams, Salon for three.
26:53France has already connected on 50% of their threes.
26:56Six of 12.
26:5749% about 16 makes from deep in this tournament entering today.
27:01Alley-o-konshu the catch and body control.
27:05Body, that's some good footwork as well.
27:08The mobility of Honshu continues to impress in her feel and movements on the floor.
27:17France once again looks to exploit the zone.
27:19Mid-range Lacan, book it.
27:24Seven points for Lacan.
27:27Plays for the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA.
27:30Second pro season, drafted 10th overall in 2024.
27:35She, though, is another player.
27:36You talk about the toughness she brings defensively.
27:39Yeah.
27:39And you can say that about so many players on this French team.
27:44Tong's jumper short, boarded by Leight.
27:51Go to Leighton.
27:52Coach Tupin has gone to his guard depth today.
27:55Early and often.
27:57Late Astier, even Lacan to run the offense.
28:03China foul.
28:04And you more than think about it, there are plenty of players for France.
28:09Even Johannes and Williams who can get them into their sets.
28:14Many orchestrators for Le Bleu.
28:18And with, we've talked about this quite a bit, a lot of experience in different spots playing different roles.
28:24So you're looking at a Pauline Astier that comes in, rookie year with a New York Liberty.
28:29Because of this injury of Sabrina Ionescu and some others, she got a ton of time,
28:34a ton of experience early on in her professional career.
28:38And all of that helps build into levels of confidence.
28:41Now playing here in this tournament and playing for your country.
28:45Batillon an offensive rebound.
28:47Now six of those for France.
28:49Up by nine with four minutes to go in the half.
28:53Salon rise in fire.
28:56Batillon is whistled for an offensive foul.
29:02A little bit of a push off to hunt that ball down.
29:14France has six turnovers in this first half.
29:20That's what's kept China in the game.
29:21They've come back down and capitalized.
29:30They're over the limit.
29:31So Han Xu heads to the stripe.
29:43China, the reigning silver medal winner at the FIBA World Cup.
29:48They fell to the United States in the gold medal game.
29:55Their 12th World Cup appearance overall.
29:58They've won the silver medal three times.
30:01And if you go back to that 2022 team,
30:05Lee Uru, who is not playing for China with a missing passport,
30:10cannot compete.
30:12Lee Uru had 19 and 12 in that game.
30:14Asia Wilson was the scoring leader for the United States.
30:18And yeah, very important to note that because Lee Uru would be a big piece of what China
30:25would be doing and is doing during this tournament.
30:27Spain, Astier, drills it.
30:32Seven threes for France in the first half.
30:45Lua's three off the heel.
30:49France wants to run.
30:51Lacan.
30:57Press break by the Chinese national team
31:01Down ten, three minutes to play
31:03First half of this quarterfinal
31:05The winner of this game faces the winner of Belgium-Germany
31:09That is next on True TV
31:14Lacan into the paint
31:16Solana sidestep triple
31:18Wee-wee from three, eight now for France
31:23Just pouring it on
31:25In all of these shots
31:27In the creation of them, it looks so smooth
31:32There's a lot of freedom
31:33In the looks that they can take
31:36But nothing feels forced
31:38It's all within the context and the flow of the offense
31:47Chung Ziyu's pass picked off
31:50Williams now three steals
31:52Drives and is fouled
31:54This is an important two-plus thing
31:57It's for China
31:58You could say for France as well
32:00But how this half is closed out
32:03Can do a lot to indicate
32:05Disapposition that these teams are going to be
32:08To start the second half
32:10Whether it's some turnovers
32:11Some open looks from three for France
32:14The fact that they pulled this double-digit lead
32:16A chance to extend it here
32:19To 15
32:21Or will China regroup a little bit
32:23Because they've had a very solid first half
32:25In many areas
32:26But you cannot give France
32:28Too much of a cushion in the lead
32:30Because that's a tough hole to dig out of
32:32With the way France plays
32:35Timeout China
32:36We'll step aside from Berlin Arena
32:38And come right back
32:41Williams 10-plus points
32:42In each of her 10
32:43World Cup games with France
32:48That's all time
32:48And wow
32:50She's been filling it up
32:51Filling it up
32:52And doing so in a variety of ways
32:54But a big part of it
32:55Has been what she's done defensively
32:57She's
32:59You've got a size and a length
33:00But more than anything
33:01Just an anticipation
33:03On when and how to take
33:04Some of those risks
33:05That's something that
33:07We've seen out of Williams
33:10Conversation for defensive player of the year
33:12In the WNBA
33:13She was all defensive first team
33:15Last year
33:16Also in 2022
33:17So that's such a huge part
33:20Of what she can do
33:22Along with her offensive prowess
33:35Now 163 total points
33:38For Williams
33:42Most by any French player
33:43Through 10 World Cup games
33:45That is her World Cup career
33:47For Le Bleu
33:49Back up 15
33:50Two minutes to go
33:51First half

35:26Louis Xinyu
35:28One of the up-and-comers
35:29For China
35:31Is on FIBA's five rising stars
35:34Leading up to the last Olympics
35:38In Paris
35:39They finished ninth
35:47They're hanging around in this game
35:48In the first
35:49Still a lot of time to play
35:51Of course

36:17Stain with the play
36:18For France
36:19You catch a break
36:21With
36:21Finally forcing a miss
36:23From the perimeter
36:25And they're coming at you
36:26In a variety of ways
36:28With waves

37:31This is a lot
37:32Of the dominance
37:33We've seen
37:33From France
37:34Early on
37:35With how they've been
37:36Shooting
37:37Doing so so
