00:00Today in Berlin continues. You're watching the 2026 FIBA Women's Basketball World Cup on TNT Sports.
00:06Our third quarterfinal of the day features Belgium looking to get back in the semifinals for the
00:14first time since 2018, while Germany, the host country, is looking to add to the history books
00:21and looks to get to its first ever semifinals.
00:25Brandi Glasheen, Sarah Kustak, Emma Miesemann, the second leading scorer in this tournament.
00:29Well, she showcased all her abilities to find ways to the hoop.
00:33She has got size, she has got prowess, and she does not get sped up.
00:37You watch her in some of these plays in situations, it's all about the reads of the defense that
00:42adds to the compliments of her team.
00:45And take a look at this.
00:46Frieda Buhner, just 22 years old for Germany and has done so many great things for this group.
00:53She's got an ability to knock down threes at a really high rate, 50% her confidence.
00:59continues to flourish, and how she can get you from the outside and inside.
01:03Let's visit with our starting lineups.
01:05There's WNBA flavor on both of these countries.
01:09When you take a look at Belgium, the Julli pairing in the backcourt, Aleman setting more history
01:17with her assists, 111 assists all time in the FIBA World Cup.
01:21That's first all time in the ranks with Bird and Staley from the United States.
01:28Van Loo's been a sharpshooter.
01:30As for Germany, Phoebus has been doing it all, and Geisel-Süter brings size, so does Saboli.
01:37Off we go.
01:38Germany opens with the ball.
01:40They're wearing the black uniforms.
01:41Belgium in white.
01:47Eichmeier, the shot fake.
01:49Phoebus sprays it.
01:51Eichmeier on the drive.
01:54Grabs her own miss back up top.
01:59Germany can't capitalize from deep for the dob off the mark.
02:03We'll see Belgium for the first time on offense, the third most productive scoring offense,
02:08and they shoot 38% from three in the tournament.
02:11And that's a big part of it.
02:12And for Germany, they've shot the three ball in that play as well as they have the capabilities
02:18to.
02:18Can they add to that with their size?
02:21Miesemann directs traffic.
02:24Dallaire slides into the paint.
02:25A little congested right here.
02:27Miesemann tosses it up and in.
02:30There's those smooth-looking plays in the footwork by Emma Miesemann.
02:34Get it in the middle of the floor.
02:35She can survey it and shoot so well over the top of the defense with her size.
02:42Up top, Geisel-Süter.
02:45Strong from three Linskins.
02:49Falls on the miss.
02:53Miesemann's been filling it up, shooting the rock.
02:57Went for 22 points against Australia to wrap up group play.
03:01Count the hoop.
03:02Plus the harm.
03:03Miesemann has all four points in the first minute 20.
03:06And Belgium Surgical and how and where they're getting the ball to Emma Miesemann in the middle
03:10of the floor.
03:11Take a look at her going over Eichmeier.
03:13There's not a whole lot that she could do.
03:16You got a 6-3 size.
03:18She's really strong in her steps.
03:20And they just continue allowing her to operate in that single coverage.
03:2622 last game against Australia.
03:30In group stage play, the opener 27 against Turkey A.
03:34A near triple-double in two of the three group stage games.
03:39Fiebis wants to go to work.
03:41Wraps inside.
03:42Could not finish.
03:44The host country.
03:47Down 5-0.
03:53Julie Almond averaging eight assists per game.
03:57Linskens.
03:59And a late whistle against Germany.
04:03Geisel Suda and Saboli.
04:07Mystified.
04:13Take a look right here.
04:15Linskens uses some of her size.
04:18Yeah, you can understand.
04:20Maybe a little bit of a push off there.
04:21We talked a lot about the physicality that exists and the looseness.
04:27Not a shooting foul.
04:29It's loose ball.
04:32Eastman shot fake.
04:33Mid-range.
04:36Offensive rebound for Belgium.
04:38Miesemann gets Saboli in the air.
04:42Belgium leads 5-0 with the ball.
04:44Julie Van Loo.
04:45Here's Julie Almond with three.
04:47Fakes the sidestep.
04:49Linskens.
04:50Just fired in time.
04:51Offensive rebound.
04:52Miesemann.
04:54Antonia Dallaire.
04:55Dumps it inside for Linskens.
04:57Couldn't punch it in.
05:00See if Germany can get going.
05:05Here's Saboli, who's averaging 11 points per game in this tournament.
05:11Dob works around the pick.
05:14Back up top.
05:16Feebisch cans a three.
05:18What an extraordinary sign for the home team in Germany.
05:24Leone Feebisch is normally a lights-out shooter from three.
05:28She is underwhelmed and struggled from beyond the arc during the course of this tournament.
05:33If she gets going, it changes the complexion.
05:35Just 16% from deep.
05:38One three made per game.
05:41Four of 25 coming in.
05:4343% with the New York Liberty this year.
05:45And you see it right here.
05:47Excellent ball movement around the outside.
05:49And you know that at some point she's going to start to heat up.
05:52It's just a matter of when seeing one go through this early for a player like Feebisch is huge.
05:59And she impacts the game in so many different ways.
06:01But that's going to be a big part of it.
06:03As you have already mentioned, the disparity in numbers in three-point shooting this tournament between Belgium and Germany.
06:09Unrivaled basketball is back.
06:11The fast-paced, action-packed women's 3v3 league returns featuring Nafisa Collier, Paige Beckers, Chelsea Gray, and more.
06:18Season three begins January 2027 on TNT, True TV, and HBO Max.
06:26Unrivaled is heading to Philadelphia.
06:28That news broke earlier this morning.
06:32Alexis Peterson, one in the black uniform, drives in the paint, kick it, Saboli.
06:37Three is strong.
06:39Long rebound chase.
06:41Saboli hops on it.
06:43Floats it up.
06:44No.
06:45Box out Miesemann.
06:52Three ball, Van Loo.
06:55Great box out by Saboli on the other end.
06:59Feebash turns loose.
07:03Feebash, light it up.
07:05Second three for Feebash in the opening quarter.
07:09Extraordinary.
07:09And you can tell.
07:10She's got a pop.
07:11She's got a confidence.
07:12Penetrate and kick.
07:13But she's ready to start putting it up.
07:15That's all you need to see as a shooter for it to go through.
07:18Especially one that for her career, over 43% from deep in the WNBA.
07:25Feebash has all six Germany points.
07:27It's Miesemann.
07:28And that's her.
07:29Emma Miesemann has eight of Belgium's ten.
07:33Good scoring early for both of these sides.
07:36Got to make sure to get out on these shooters.
07:40Bigs that can stretch the floor for Germany.
07:43Feebash getting going.
07:44Massive.
07:45Just 25% three-point shooting for Germany as a country in their first three games of group stage play.
07:54And Goulish, the team captain, comes back with a mid-range jumper.
08:07And Goulish was someone that was used heavily during that game against Italy with her size.
08:20The winner of this quarterfinal faces France in the semifinals Saturday.
08:31Long range, Alamon.
08:39Both squads hot from the outside early.
08:44They've also been quick with their movements.
08:48Vilca left the three short, out of bounds.
08:50Belgium ball.
08:51The ball has been popping.
08:52They're cutting hard.
08:54Making sure they're setting their screens nicely, suited off these handoffs.
08:58And that's just a beautiful job by Linskens getting the pop-out.
09:03And that's part of the reason for a team like Belgium.
09:06Because they have three-point shooters, great passing ability, but also size.
09:11Frieda Buhner has checked in for Germany.
09:1420 in the black uniform.
09:16Three games and double figures out of the four.
09:18Took a qualifying quarterfinal win for Germany over Korea to get to this game.
09:26Feebisch prances the other way.
09:28Finds Vilca.
09:30In the pocket, it trickles off the iron.
09:37Alamon sets the table.
09:39Miesemek fed in the post.
09:41Fakes the reverse.
09:42Back to the other side.
09:43She swerved in there and comes up empty.
09:51Both teams combined, Sarah.
09:53Seven assists, zero turnovers in the first six minutes.
09:56It's been very clean.
09:57It's been clean.
09:58It's been organized.
10:00Teams have a very intentional idea of where and how they want to get the ball.
10:05Both to the inside.
10:06And if they're working the inside-out game, that is what opened up the three-point line.
10:11But we heard our studio crew talk about it.
10:14Lauren sent it out of the gate.
10:15This is going to be a tightly contested matchup just given the way that these assignment works
10:21and how they both play in many ways similar.
10:25Feebisch off on the three.
10:28Offensive rebound, Ghoulish.
10:30A slashing Peterson against the big Linskins.
10:34Guards like these matchups time to time.
10:37Pass in the paint.
10:38And Ghoulish with patience on the block.
10:41Patience and what a read.
10:44That's a tough play.
10:45She slices through the two.
10:47It almost looked like she was ready to kick it out before she realized she had a little lane to
10:52the hoop.
10:55Paint touch and a travel.
10:58Becky Massey.
10:59Too many steps.
11:01Belgium commits the third fewest turnovers per game at this World Cup, just 12.
11:06Well, Germany takes care of it the best.
11:0910.3 turnovers per game, the fewest in their home country.
11:17Yeah.
11:17There's comfort there, I suppose.
11:19There is a good session game, but also it needs to keep an eye on the offensive glass.
11:23Early on, some second chance opportunities for both of these sides.
11:28Peterson navigates onto the block and is fouled by Linskins.
11:33Legend number five.
11:35Nastya Johnson's first person is a foul.
11:38First team for the foul.
11:40Two three points for Alexis Peterson's foul.
11:43And a good job right there.
11:45Right there with the reach.
11:45Yeah.
11:46And for Alexis Peterson, we'll stop and go action.
11:51She's a veteran player who multiple stops.
11:55She won ACC Player of the Year as a senior at Syracuse, but a little bit of time in the
12:01WNBA,
12:01then Israel, Poland, Turkey, France.
12:03And you can see that in how she plays and the cadence that she brings to the table for this
12:12Germany group.
12:13And it's going to matter.
12:15Every one of these possessions and to your point of taking care of the basketball,
12:18all of that is significant in a game of this magnitude.
12:23Almond has not been shy to shoot it.
12:25Sandy Brondello, the head coach of Australia, is her coach in Toronto.
12:28She wants to shoot more.
12:30And they break free the other way.
12:33And knock it in.
12:34Thanks to Masi.
12:37Belgium's lead is fourth.
12:41The host, Germany.
12:43With a win, they'd be in the semis for the first time ever in just their second World Cup.
12:47Little dipsy-doo action.
12:50Vilkamp.
12:52There's something at the end of the dribble.
12:57Winner gets France on Saturday.
12:59We have all the coverage here on TNT Sports.
13:02One possession game with about two minutes to go in the first.
13:06Almond was cutting.
13:08Good idea by Linskins, but tossed it away.
13:12We had a feeling this one would be tight.
13:15At the edge-of-your-seat type of game, and that's what we've gotten so far.
13:29Both head coaches make a couple of substitutions.
13:32A few swaps.
13:35Full-court pickup.
13:40By Lissoua Umbaka of Belgium guarding the European experience of Pedersen.
13:49Vilka.
13:50A three.
13:51That one's clean.
13:53A couple big possessions by Vilka.
13:57The attack, the basket, footwork at the end.
14:00This time, the three-point shot.
14:05First lead for Germany.
14:09Post-touch Miesemann, a push pass.
14:13Count the basket for Lissoua Umbaka.
14:16Continuation awarded.
14:17Yeah, and that's the challenging part.
14:19Raven about Vilka, when she's on the offensive end defensively, this is a really tough play in possession.
14:25She nails the three, but then a response from Belgium.
14:30Is they have an opportunity to not only get to the line, but they make the basket.
14:35And those you need to be more careful of, despite the fact Belgian comes up empty on that free throw.
14:55Feebisch high post.
14:57Back and down.
14:58Fade away.
14:59Good!
15:00Feebisch is hot.
15:02Eight points for Germany.
15:05Yeah, and again, if Germany wants to make an impact in this one, it's got to go through Feebisch.
15:11She's done so much already for this group.
15:17But her knocking down shots and continuing to do all the other impact plays with assists and rebounding,
15:23it's all a part of what this effort will take.
15:26Yuener flicks it in.
15:28Back and forth we go.
15:30Final minute, first quarter.
15:32Van Loo the spin.
15:35Lissoua Umbaka downhill.
15:38Kick it.
15:38Massey.
15:41Lissoua Umbaka could not clean it up so close.
15:44Feebisch among the bigs.
15:47Out to Saboli.
15:48One player to beat.
15:50Saboli, a rack attack.
15:51Massey.
15:53Saboli.
15:57Three-point Germany lead in this quarterfinal.
16:02Feebisch.
16:03Feebisch.
16:04Feebisch.
16:06Feebisch.
16:07Feebisch.
16:08Feebisch.
16:10Feebisch.
16:11Feebisch.
16:11Julie Van Loo, sidestep three-pointer.
16:15One second for Saboli.
16:18First quarter in the books, one possession game.
16:21The host, Germany, with a huge run to end the quarter.
16:26Come back with us on TNT Sports.
16:30The quarterfinal.
16:31It was only a matter of time for Leone Feebisch to get going from deep.
16:34She gets it going early.
16:36And you can see there's just a smoother nature to how it seems like she's getting into these
16:40shots.
16:41She's struggled so far from beyond the arc through the course of this tournament.
16:44But now it has been lights out and Germany needs it.
16:48Germany's a team that's shot.
16:49It's 25% from three through the course of this tournament.
16:52They are a much better three-point shooting team than those numbers suggest.
16:56Just 20% in the quarterfinal qualifier against Korea.
17:00Feebisch is at her average for the tournament in terms of scoring.
17:03She has eight.
17:04Averages eight through four games in place.
17:07Saboli rampage inside.
17:09Walking foul Belgium.
17:11Miesemann hits the deck.
17:13That's her first.
17:15Geisel Suda, by the way, of Germany, picked up two quick ones in the first three minutes.
17:20Something to watch out for.
17:22Nierisaboli going right into Miesemann.
17:24Looks like there was maybe a little need of side contact.
17:28But this is where Nierisaboli we've seen.
17:31We see this from her often.
17:33But how aggressive she's been in attacking the basket.
17:37That was a huge part of how she set the tone early in that quarterfinal qualifier win against Italy.
17:47And you want to see her keep doing that.
17:52Folks, college football on TNT Sports Reserve returns Saturday.
17:56Washington State takes on Kansas State.
17:58The Big 12 catch all the action on TNT.
18:01True TV and HBO Max.
18:03Niara, the younger sister of Satu, who is not with Germany in this run.
18:08She's been shut down for the remainder of the season in the WNBA and at this FIBA World Cup.
18:13What a pass by Miesemann.
18:15Linskin slashed in.
18:16Couldn't finish.
18:17Saboli got knocked to the face as she grabbed the rebound.
18:22And you mentioned it when she grimaced on that last sequence offensively.
18:27Niara was battling a calf injury in mid-August with the Toronto Tempo.
18:34Returned to play.
18:35Ramped it back up to get on this big stage.
18:37Extremely important.
18:38And you mentioned it first when it comes to Satu Saboli.
18:41You think about her as an individual and a player.
18:46It's on tag of three.
18:49Germany unconscious from deep.
18:51Of course, you want her health to be at the forefront.
18:56But what a major significant loss for Germany to not have her and a player of her caliber here competing
19:03at this stage.
19:05Almond up top, Miesemann.
19:07Shot clock is down to five.
19:11Dallaire couldn't answer.
19:16Belgium led 13-8 with four minutes to go in the first.
19:20This game is turned on its side.
19:22Buehner banks it in.
19:25Ten-point Germany lead.
19:27An 11-0 run.
19:30Timeout Belgium.
19:31Doing an incredible job in continuing to work the ray around the basket.
19:36The passing is evident.
19:38The balance on the floor.
19:40And who else?
19:40Buehner.
19:41Put him up 10.
19:44All right, let's go.
19:45Come on.
19:47One, two, three.
19:48One, two, three.
19:49The great Mike Thiebaud is the head coach of the Belgian national team.
19:54He leads the Cats after a gold medal at 2025 Eurobasket.
19:59The former Team USA assistant who was part of the staff that won gold at the FIBA World Cup in
20:042022.
20:05Yeah, and Mike Thiebaud, one of the all-time greats.
20:09You have mentioned it.
20:10He also was the coach of Emma Miesemann, two-time WNB All-Star and a part of that championship Mystics
20:17team in 2019.
20:18Great love of familiarity, and you know that this group is going to stay composed through this run by Germany.
20:27Linskens, another try it goes.
20:3010 of Thiebaud's, 12 players on this currently constructed roster return from that gold medal at Euros in 2025.
20:38And that amount of continuity matters.
20:41Yes.
20:42Fiebaud's unconscious in the first half.
20:46Third three for Leone Fiebaud.
20:48Leone is unlocked.
20:51This is the shooter that we know her to be.
20:55And if you're Germany, keep feeding her.
20:59Fiebaud should hit just four threes in the first four games of this tournament.
21:03Three of them in the first half today.
21:08A little show and go.
21:11Box out.
21:12Saboli has been a monster on the glass.
21:15Hot hand.
21:16Fiebaud off one foot.
21:18Yes!
21:21Look out, Leone!
21:28High, low, reverse.
21:31Miesemann.
21:31A nice way to settle things in.
21:33A beautiful job.
21:33You got four up.
21:34Everyone's high.
21:35A wide open baseline for Miesemann to utilize that size.
21:40Fiebaud sheds her feet.
21:42P-check.
21:44And a foul.
21:46Assessed to Lina Zontag.
21:53Leone Fiebaud is coming off that pick down.
21:56Pick down.
21:57Quick turn.
21:58Pop.
21:58Squares her shoulders.
21:59And there is something to be said for understanding not only the moment.
22:05The moment here for Germany.
22:07Said it before.
22:09This home crowd.
22:10You can feel it.
22:11You can feel the energy.
22:13And especially as it starts to build.
22:14Van Loo.
22:16Van Loo.
22:17A long two is true.
22:20Nine point game.
22:21Six and a half to play first half.
22:23The winner plays France in the semifinals on Saturday here in Berlin.
22:28Dog.
22:29Trying to put the defense on skates.
22:32Out to Fiebaud's long three.
22:37Fiebaud's missed her last two from the outside.
22:4113 first half points.
22:45And you know what?
22:47She's feeling it.
22:48And that's exactly what you want.
22:49It doesn't matter.
22:50She can take as many as need be.
22:53Circles back to.
22:56The lower percentages were very uncharacteristic.
22:59He knew it was going to balance out.
23:01And balance out in a big way.
23:03France is next for one of these countries.
23:06Part of a doubleheader here on TNT Sports.
23:09We've got another quarterfinal after this between Australia and Spain.
23:13Miesemann.
23:14Lightwork.
23:1612 points for Emma Miesemann.
23:18It feels that way.
23:18She's just so methodical.
23:20And even the positioning of where she gets the ball on the floor and under the basket.
23:24With that size.
23:26Buhner got Linskens in the air.
23:28Short.
23:30Close out.
23:31Miesemann finds her fellow big Linskens.
23:34Leaks out.
23:35But could not convert.
23:41Dob into Buhner.
23:43And she got muscled down.
23:45We'll head to the free throw line.
23:47No, they're called travel.
23:57Knowing the importance of the game, but also how close these teams are in terms of their
24:03personnel, they might let a little more fly today in terms of the physicality.
24:11Seven-point game.
24:12Belgium with the ball.
24:13Down seven.
24:17Van Loup.
24:19Over to Miesemann.
24:22Shot clock down to three.
24:24Fall away jumper.
24:25Dallaire short.
24:30A strut the other way.
24:32Phoebus.
24:37Loose ball.
24:38And it's corralled by Van Loup.
24:42Now ball is circled back.
24:47Around the screen.
24:49He's sitting in.
24:58Peterson slows it down to the half court for Germany.
25:09Shot clock to five for Peterson.
25:11Hedges off the defender.
25:14And a foul.
25:17This is going to be a really important final four here to close out this half.
25:25The understanding of how you want to set the tone as you go into the halftime locker room.
25:30Germany did a tremendous job going on a run, being very effective from the three-point line.
25:36That's the difference that we haven't always seen through the course of this tournament for them.
25:40But for Belgium to resettle back in.
25:44Especially considering the fact that you are playing the host team.
25:47You are playing a team that's at home.
25:49And how that crowd will factor in as the game goes on.
25:53Baseball's biggest stars are in the race to the postseason.
25:57Watch the American League Division Series beginning October 3rd on TBS and streaming on HBO Max.
26:09Germany by nine.
26:11That foul was on Dallaire of Belgium.
26:14Her first.
26:16Niesemann's five of ten from the floor.
26:18Eleven in the white and black.
26:19The rest of Belgium, six of twenty.
26:23Osuwa Mbaka has fouled on her journey to the basket.
26:27She should get two at the line here.
26:30She's been really good so far here today, Osuwa Mbaka.
26:35Of being aggressive and being around the basket.
26:38Whether it's through some of these drives and takes or just her activity on the glass.
26:45Osuwa Mbaka has got a clear understanding of their roles, of what's expected of them, needed of them.
26:52A part of that is the fact that you've got a group that has so many of their roster players
26:59returning from having played at the Euros.
27:03She's not passing 31, so you've got to just come in and stop it.
27:06And when you stop it, the X will take the first and we have to X out.
27:10We can't let her get to the cup.
27:12That was Emma.
27:13We can't over-help on her.
27:15She can impact the game.
27:17I know it's possible, but if it's not possible, you've got to get in.
27:20The next one has to X out.
27:22Okay?
27:23You've just got to keep playing.
27:27Olaf Lang, head coach of Germany.
27:30It was only a year ago now when Olaf Lang was associate head coach of the New York Liberty under
27:36his wife, Sandy Brondello, head coach of the Australian national team.
27:41They brought in Emma Mieseman at the midway point of the season for the stretch run in the hopes they
27:47would make another run of the championship with the New York Liberty.
27:50There's so much familiarity.
27:51The degrees of connectivity between these two countries is fascinating.
27:56No question.
27:57And then, of course, Leonie Feebich, who is such a critical part of that championship run.
28:0713 in a game for Feebich.
28:08Don't get a certain point.
28:09There's so many of these players, the level of respect, the understanding, these coaches, the nuance.
28:15It becomes a very small world and just knowing and understanding the tendencies you have, the scouting reports,
28:23comes down to them executing here on the floor.
28:28And Soa Mbaka, the slashing score, does her job at the line to make it a seven-point game inside
28:36four minutes to go in the first half.
28:38Saboli puts the head down, drives.
28:39It's blocked by Mieseman.
28:43Huge defensive play.
28:46Now up to six blocks in the tournament to lead Belgium.
28:50Can Belgium take advantage of this, though?
28:54Linskens tees one up.
29:04Feebich drives out to Ghoulish.
29:15Van Loo dripped in.
29:19On the hunt, Mieseman.
29:23Mieseman sets the screen.
29:25Almond goes back to Mieseman.
29:26High, low, Linskens slashed to the cup.
29:28That's an excellent movement because Germany got entirely turned around and lost there on that side of the floor defensively
29:39because of the ball movement, because of the overloaded side.
29:43And that's what you've got to be more careful with because they are so good with their passing.
29:49Linskens, with the rebound on the other end of the floor, has been on the Belgian senior team since she
29:54was 19 years old back in 2015.
29:57Almond for three.
29:59Almond for three.
30:00One possession game.
30:02Belgium is rallied back.
30:07Wants a 13-point lead for Germany.
30:13Zamboli with an answer.
30:20The back and forth and continued responses of both of these scenes has been an incredible way to start this
30:26first half.
30:27How can you not be romantic with the game of basketball?
30:33And you see there in the three-point shooting, it's fairly same in the level of accuracy.
30:39It's more just the volume of shots from beyond the arc that Germany has taken.
30:44There is a huge block by Emma Mieseman on the defensive end of the floor.
30:50We talk a lot about what she's done offensively, second-leading scorer in this World Cup tournament coming into today.
30:57She's also averaging close to two blocks per game.
31:02Drive and kick, Lesoa Mbaka.
31:05Had a good look at a triple.
31:08Peterson the other way for Germany.
31:10Walk-up three-pointer.
31:11Leaned into it and drilled it.
31:14First three for Peterson and the seventh for Germany.
31:19They make about six and a half a game at this World Cup.
31:22They've already surpassed that.
31:25Mieseman is fed.
31:26Rises over Zamboli.
31:28Offensive rebound.
31:35Alamal.
31:37Start and go.
31:39Lesoa Mbaka drives and is fouled.
31:44As she's hoisted it up, free throws on the way for Maxuella.
31:48Lesoa Mbaka.
31:53Lesoa Mbaka keeps doing what she's been doing.
31:58We've talked about it.
31:59No, she is going to get to the front of the rim.
32:04There's aggressiveness in her drives and she understands the importance of putting pressure on the rim and on the defense.
32:10She's got seven points to then continue opening up the floor.
32:16She's got seven points.
32:19Mieseman leading the way for Belgium with 12.
32:21On the other side, Germany's Leone Feebisch has the host country in front by seven.
32:27In search of their first-ever trip to the World Cup semifinals.
32:32Turnover, Germany.
32:38Van Loo swings it.
32:40Lesoa Mbaka off the heels.
32:42Saboli boxes out.
32:44She's up to eight rebounds in this first half.
32:58High ball screen.
33:01Dysol Suda off the mark.
33:08Six-second difference game clock and shot clock.
33:18Four assists in the early going.
33:20Off a pair of screens.
33:22Mieseman.
33:23Spin cycle.
33:27Couldn't bank it in.
33:28Four seconds for Germany.
33:31Vilka from half court.
33:35Germany by seven.
33:38Hey, Rene was talking about popcorn a few days ago.
33:41Get it out now, crew.
33:43Lauren, Tina, and Rene are in the studio.
33:46This quarterfinal is just a seven-point game.
33:49We'll be right back in the studio.
33:53Leone Feebisch in Germany with a seven-point lead through the first half.
33:59Feebisch has turned the corner shooting the three today.
34:01Yeah, started cooking early.
34:02This is the Leone Feebisch that we have come to know through the course of her career,
34:06being able to knock down three-point shots with ease.
34:09She's had great movement off the basketball.
34:11And as you can see, really tightly contested battle.
34:14Big difference, though, for Germany has been how well they have shot in the volume of shooting from deep.
34:20Twenty-two of their 42 points from the bench.
34:23They get the most production from their bench in the FIBA World Cup.
34:27Emma Miesemann on the other side is doing all she can to help Belgium advance back to the semifinals.
34:34Emma Miesemann is doing it all.
34:35And you take a look at her shot chart, you know they want to get the ball in the middle
34:39of the floor to her,
34:40especially when she gets the depth of that position.
34:43She's done an excellent job in continuing to just play at her own pace, use her patience, use that height.
34:50They're going to need a whole lot more of it from Belgium.
34:52You ever do the Cupid shuffle?
34:54Emma's to the right, to the right, to the right.
34:57You know what?
34:58A lot of those shots to the right, though, you look at what Germany has done, and they've defended it
35:04well.
35:04Those shots on the right block, where she's been really good is when she's facing up.
35:09But Miesemann's an excellent player.
35:11These are both two solid teams that have been very formulaic in how they're going to attack.
35:17It's going to come down to taking care of the glass as well,
35:20because we've seen second-chance opportunities play a role.
35:23And the rest of Belgium is 8 of 25 from the floor.
35:29That's Fidesz, who takes a tumble.
35:32Van Loo with the arm bar trying to hedge the screen.
35:40You know, after they go to the right on the Cupid shuffle, then they go to the left, right?
35:46Yeah, we'll see if that happens for Emma.
35:48It's going to be difficult for the next 20 minutes, I have to think about that, Jim.
35:59We've got a great battle here, though.
36:01The winner plays France in the semifinals Saturday.
36:05Britta Daub takes the dribble handoff.
36:07Around the world in the paint, spinning left, fires, hits!
36:10That's a tough shot by Daub.
36:15First points of the day.
36:17Flashy.
36:19Germany's lead is 9.
36:22Albon bounces to Linskens.
36:25In and out.
36:28Biggest lead for Germany in that first half is 13.
36:33Feebush sheds off the defender, absorbs some contact, punched free.
36:37Geisel Suda cleans it up.
36:39And one.
36:40Geisel Suda got into a little bit of foul trouble early on this game.
36:45Has been fairly quiet so far.
36:48Those are first baskets here for Germany.
36:51And she's someone that if they can get her going, it'll be really important.
36:54She played just under six minutes.
