07:58when this

07:59song came out but from the time that i can remember anywhere between five and on up it was

08:05always on the radio um wherever whether it was at a party family house in the car i just know

08:14the record

08:14joy and pain just from listening to it and it is a very captivating song and then something interesting

08:21happened in 1988 mr rob bass and dj easy rock they went ahead and did their uh take on it

08:28so we even

08:30had it from the original with maze and then it even extended it extended it you know when i was

08:36like

08:36eight years old so that's like a whole decade of understanding and knowing what this song is

08:43and you know how we do it here so i'm gonna go ahead and flip it um and just speak

08:48about life

08:49because life definitely is like joy and pain and i'm gonna break down these lyrics i haven't done this

08:56in a while but when i tell you that the old school folks when they used to write records it

09:03was so simple

09:04it's not it's not as complicated as it is nowadays with some of the the music the way they put

09:11together

09:11a song and i'm gonna spend a little time on this just just because who it is frankie beverly

09:17um but just the simplicity of it it's the some like if you go back to stevie wonder

09:23all of those it's the simplicity in the lyrics but man do they really hit

09:29the simplicity in the lyrics but do they really hit so we speaking about joy and pain and of course

09:37in this record frankie is speaking of you know a relationship but i'm just gonna turn and just say

09:45life in general can bring you joy and pain it doesn't matter what time of day it is what season

09:50it is who you are white black puerto rican it doesn't even matter we are all going to experience

09:58some joy and pain in life so let's go through these lyrics how come things that make us happy makes

10:05sad there you go right there check joy and pain are like sunshine and rain love can be bitter so

10:14i'm

10:14gonna change it and flip it and remix this whole thing as we go down this so life can be

10:18bitter

10:19and life can be sweet

10:25sometimes devotion and sometimes deceit

10:31don't assume we go through life going up and down how many of y'all can relate to in your

10:35lifetime

10:37and life in general you go through ups and downs it could be like a emotional roller coaster like vivian

10:42green seems the things that turn you on turn you around so something that turns you on something

10:51you're so excited about something that you go after will end up turning you around and sometimes can turn

10:56you upside down and if it ain't one thing it's another that's one of the one of the most memorable

11:02parts of the song that i remember growing up if it ain't one thing it's another and isn't it

11:08so true in life sometimes when things are going good and one aspect it could flip around and be

11:14going so wrong and another aspect and i have to do it i wasn't going to do it tonight but

11:18i have to do

11:19it my girl mary j blige she has a song called press on life has a way of making you

11:25live it sometimes

11:26taking it or you be giving it do you fold or do you play on and the next move always

11:31depends on you

11:32if your work is good then it's trouble at home what how many times do you go through life and

11:40everything is good on a job but then you go home and everything just falls apart or when you get

11:45everything going so well at home all of a sudden something on the job falls apart can they all be

11:51in

11:51unison and in sync at one now let's go back to this record there will be sorrow but you will

11:59endure

12:02where there is a flower there is sun and the rain so check this out so wherever there is a

12:08flower

12:08there has to be sun and rain because all those three like that none of them will be able to

12:14exist

12:14without the other and it's just life and with that i started to think about faith evans

12:20offer to keep the faith album she has a song called keep the faith released in 1998 and she basically

12:27two scriptures in it and it's just an amazing song still to this day i guarantee you to listen to

12:34if you're going through something if you you're going through a battle you're trying to fight you're

12:38trying to break through listen to that keep the faith by faith evans reminds me of psalm 30 verse 5

12:47weeping may may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning and then of course faith also puts

12:54in

12:55psalm 37 verse 25 i have been young and now i'm old yet have i not seen the righteous forsaken

13:05nor his seed begging for bread so as we go through joy and pain as we go through life as

13:11we go through

13:11ups and downs just know that if you know who your father is and therefore you know who you are

13:20and you

13:20have chosen because we all have this choice to either go left or right but you have chosen to

13:27take the righteous path take the right path which he has laid out for you

13:34you will not be forsaken and if you know who your father is it says it right here nor his

13:42seed

13:43begging for bread so if you do the right thing financially with what he has given you and you

13:48decide to take the righteous path with what he has given you it says it right here in the word

13:55will not be forsaken nor will you be begging for bread now and i'm gonna get off of this sometimes

14:04as we go through this joy and pain in life as we go through these ups and downs and we

14:08think and

14:09sometimes we swear that it's always somebody doing something to us the rhetorical question i have to ask

14:15each and every one of you out there because i had to break it down and ask myself as well

14:19before i sit

14:20here and beg and cry and plead god please get me out of this why did i how did this

14:25happen who did

14:25this what did this i have to look in the mirror and say what role did you play in this

14:30did you do

14:31everything that you were supposed to do to set yourself up financially for success did you tithe like

14:36you were supposed to did you put that money aside and do what you were supposed to do in the

14:40first

14:40place before you decided to go ahead and do you and i'm not talking about the song from fantasia did

14:48you do everything you were supposed to do before you decided to go ahead and do you did you give

14:52god

14:52his portion did you store something away did you count up the cost before you decided to go and spend

14:59and do all this extra things if you follow that righteous path if you follow that right path

15:05death you will not be forsaken and if you know who your father are who your father is if you

15:13know

15:13who he is therefore you know who you are you shall not be begging for bread song of the day

15:39i tried to do a little justice actually let me take that word back see i messed up already i'm

15:43gonna

15:43have to go ahead and give myself the game over

15:49because we didn't try anything the word try and hope around here on the form one podcast we removed

15:55that out of our vocabulary but i'm glad that i caught it because sometimes when you do and say

16:01something that you don't mean to say if you catch it right away you delete it catch it right away

16:05you

16:06delete it and that's okay because we're human but it's when you don't catch it is when you're all caught

16:12up in it and what you say what you speak out of your mouth becomes reality because words have power

16:19and i'm on it i'm on my i'm on my thing right about now um i'm on this spiritual moment

16:28right now

16:29this spiritual error right now and it's obviously going to transition into uh 2027 but i'm preparing

16:38already so trust and believe that if you want to elevate to new heights if you want to see things

16:45and hear things that you have never seen and heard on a form one podcast or from me in general

16:51stick

16:52around because i am preparing and i am focusing on something bigger and greater for the new year

17:00i encourage you all to start preparing now um in a couple more months bells will be ringing so we

17:06already know what that is we should have been focusing on in in july to focus on bringing it

17:12through so that we're not struggling financially during these times frames when the uh folly days

17:17start i know i'm going in i'm gonna have to uh take a a drink and and sit down somewhere

17:23because i'm amped up

17:25but get ready uh ladies and gentlemen because the state of the world and everything that we're in

17:32it ain't gonna get any easier so you have to be spiritually suited up and armed and ready to

17:37fight this battle because ain't nobody gonna do it for you but the power of your mind is just so

17:46amazing and so powerful and such a beautiful blessing once you understand and you become the

17:51master of your own mind it's better off that you master your mind versus somebody else mastering it for

17:56you are you the slave or are you the master now do you master your own mind or does your

18:02mind take

18:03you on trips and journeys and take you in the dark places where you can't get up and you can't

18:07get out

18:08i don't know who i'm speaking to i'm only speaking from real life experience from real life experiences

18:12but i know full well that i wasn't in control of my mind for majority of my life it wasn't

18:18until recent

18:19until i unlocked the door and saw a new path and said oh okay so this is what this means

18:27here this

18:27is how this works so i am in control i don't have to suffer and i don't have to repeat

18:32these same

18:33patterns and play these same sad broken records over and over again and oh by the way the things that

18:38you

18:38said to me the things that you said about me and the evil terrible things that you spoke over my

18:44life

18:45you know what i have to say to that absolutely not i'm in control of this here today i am

18:53the star

18:54of this show here today this is my movie and i'm directing this thing right here today that's how

19:00you have to defeat your enemy and some of us out there that's how you have to defeat yourself because

19:06the biggest battle is with self not worried about what somebody else thinks or says about you

19:14anyway i'm gonna let me get off of that because i'm gonna get off of it and we're gonna go

19:19ahead

19:20and get on with this show i had no idea that i was gonna take it to that level but

19:24i'm gonna take me

19:25a drink and then calm myself down and in the meantime we're gonna go ahead and reach out to mr

19:58oh that's good i feel the same way i'll tell you that um this fall fall has arrived here in

20:09new jersey

20:12must be nice

20:15well i mean if you like 50 degree weather in the morning where you got to put the heat on

20:19then

20:20i guess so no i mean hey uh let me see what i see diana she had to go and

20:27have a cataract surgery

20:29yesterday when we walked outside at 6 30 it was 8 80 degrees now see i love that i love

20:40that oh and then

20:41you know i went to the park it was like 97 98 took me a little walk got me a

20:48little sweat in

20:50came home man slept mostly all day because hey i don't usually get up that early man you know my

20:55days normally start at 11 o'clock in the morning man okay i feel you on that one and then

21:03the day

21:04she had to go back for a checkup and um it was hot it was actually 100 where we was

21:13at

21:14yeah that's what i'm talking about that's what i'm talking about you know we uh oh it's gone and

21:19you know it like last week not all the last week but a few days last week because of the

21:28rain it

21:28actually had dropped down to 85 you know and that felt that felt real strange because guess what

21:37after that it was back up in the it was like 97 98 99 so

21:44that's what we're having for our fall beginning of fall well it starts off

21:52cold not cold but chilly that's a good word let me not exaggerate it starts off chilly in the morning

21:58where you need a hoodie or a sweater or something like that that makes sense but then

22:05by the afternoon is 80 degrees yeah so now you peeling off layers and all this stuff and then

22:13by the night time it's happening all over again oh yeah nope not a fan of it

22:25so real quick before we move on i've realized that i have ran my mouth a lot today and i

22:32don't think

22:33i'm done because when you speak about a group like maze i just have to ask you what's your opinion

22:40oh maze was the jam you know uh like i said hey if you was in the music or even

22:49if you wasn't in the

22:50music maze was he was one of the top you know entertainers you would want to either go see or

22:59just

22:59listen to on the radio or if you had his music at your home okay so now have you ever

23:07had an

23:07opportunity to see them live no i haven't okay me neither but um let's talk about some of the

23:18records that that were classic so joy and pain was one of them what was one i can't say your

23:23favorites

23:24but just let me know what's some that come to your mind oh man um see when you hear joy

23:31and pain my mind

23:32just went blank after that one well well i know the classic one that everybody knows before i let go

23:42yeah you know that one before i let go yes there's so many of them that i know by ear

23:48but i don't

23:49necessarily know the titles of them but i do know before i let go joy and pain you always knew

23:55his tune

23:56though because it was totally different from all the other performers tune and that's what that's

24:03what i i liked about it yeah that's a classic one before i let go that will always um

24:11i think that'll just live on i don't know how many years but it'll be curious to see when they

24:17ever

24:17stop playing that song they won't i didn't think so i didn't think so because man that from ever since

24:26i was young oh yeah you talking about four decades at this moment you know um you know i mean

24:39i mean he

24:39had he had some he has some classics you know that's all you can say he has some he has

24:45some classics

24:48i know a lot of i'm gonna get off of this i know a lot of people got upset

24:52i just remembered him hearing not getting upset but just feeling a certain way about it

24:57when it went from maize then it went to frankie beverly featuring maize

25:01i remember people talking about and they felt some sort of way about it well it it went that way

25:11because

25:11he was the lead singer and that's how everybody related to them and you know back then a lot of

25:21groups

25:23did that um i think motown was the only one that didn't really have that many groups like

25:31that everybody if whatever group you was in you know they had a few they had a few that you

25:38know

25:38like martha reeves uh smoky robinson miracles motel was one of the few that would not allow

25:48that to go on like the temptations when um oh david david ruffin he wanted to call it david ruffin

25:58the temptations and they said no because first of all you didn't start the group and but david ruffin

26:06said yeah but i'm the one that's making the hits and they was like but you didn't start you didn't

26:12put this group together you was invited in now yeah there was a back and forth it was a back

26:20and

26:20forth plus david ruffin had issues too you know we all know that now you're gonna make me want to

26:26go

26:26back and listen to some david ruffin but go ahead but yeah well yeah no don't get me wrong man

26:34he the

26:35man you know he could jam he could jam you know i enjoy listening to all the songs that he

26:42actually

26:43you know he led on then you know he went solo too and i think that's why people people was

26:50like

26:52why you had to change it to frankie beverly amazed yeah he was always the one singing

26:58tune that had a lot to do with it you know you know yeah just like the common doors they

27:06didn't

27:07say lionel richie and the common doors or walter orange in the common doors they just kept it as the

27:13common doors because actually believe it or not some of the songs that you hear that you may think is

27:19lionel richie is not lionel it's walter orange singing it i'm gonna have to go back and pay

27:27attention to that uh i read his autobiography lionel i was surprised that but i had heard that too

27:35that allowed us there was you know songs that all of them was like either they wrote it

27:41or they actually performed it and it wasn't just him you know being the lead singer

27:49yeah i was just just curious to see because i remember uh as a kid sitting around the table

27:55listening to the old folks talk and they definitely were speaking about that and they there was a big

28:00debate when it happened that was a big debate so all right now i didn't ram my mouth in the

28:09beginning

28:10and i do enjoy speaking about music that's one thing that i can't not do when i come out here

28:16so it is

28:17what it is with that so we just gonna get into tonight's assignment and um we go on to uh

28:25carolina so um you ready i'm ready let's see all right so miss uh monique says

28:38my name is monique from charlotte north carolina and i am 41 years old six months ago i received

28:45what i thought was the best news of my career i was promoted my salary was increased and for the

28:51first time in a long time i felt like i could finally breathe so i did what a lot of

28:55people do

28:56when their income increases i upgraded my lifestyle i moved into a nicer apartment i replaced my 10 year old

29:02car i started eating out more i booked vacations i had been putting off i even increased some of my

29:08subscriptions because i told myself i can afford it now and technically i could until i couldn't

29:15last month my company eliminated my position i wasn't fired for poor performance i wasn't warned

29:21there wasn't some big financial mistake i made at work my income simply stopped that's when i realized

29:28something uncomfortable i had prepared my lifestyle for my new income but i hadn't prepared my finances

29:35for the possibility that my income could disappear i had less than two thousand dollars in savings my car

29:42payment is six hundred and eighty five dollars my rent is two thousand one hundred and fifty dollars

29:48then there are utilities insurance groceries credit cards and everything else that seemed manageable when i was

30:02receiving a paycheck every two weeks now every bill feels different i'm embarrassed because people

30:08around me still think i'm doing well they remember the promotion they see the car they see the pictures from

30:15my vacation they don't see that i'm sitting at my kitchen table calculating how many weeks i can survive

30:20i've started applying for jobs but i've also realized that finding another position isn't the only problem

30:27i need to change how i think about financial security i thought making more money meant i was

30:33financially secure now i understand that income and security are not the same thing i wish i had built

30:40an emergency fund before increasing my lifestyle i wish i had asked myself what happens if my paycheck

30:46disappears instead i only asked what can i afford with my paycheck so my question is how do you build

30:53financial security when everything is going well before life gives you a reason to what do you have for

31:01monique first of all you know we we all have made that mistake when you get that raise you decide

31:10to do it

31:11what they call an upgrade lifestyle creep yep and sometimes it goes against you because companies are so and they

31:23companies always have been shaky but they're even more shakier now than you know they was in the past

31:33you know and i can understand but if she had a vehicle and she had had it for 10 years

31:43and it wouldn't wasn't giving her problems

31:46you would you would think somebody would have told her why don't you keep the vehicle until

31:54you had put enough money aside to make them moves to get you another vehicle i know i this is

32:06something i was

32:06always told whenever you're working for a company and you up and you get a new car or you start

32:15dressing

32:16a little bit better you better watch out because it's some eyes that's on you and you know they they

32:27will

32:28you could lose your job and you don't even know why and i can i can say it has happened

32:36to me on a couple

32:38occasions where i gotta i gotta it went it went it went it went a brand new car but it

32:44was new to me

32:46and you know somehow come to work and all of a sudden it all these negative stuff start coming about

32:56and it's all it is is jealousy because of the fact that they say oh he must have got an

33:04increase in pay

33:08um and people people just that's the thing about it jealousy runs

33:14a thousand different ways and people get jealous when they see you doing better

33:22than what you had been and i think that's what she was trying to do and i noticed all these

33:30people are

33:30always trying to impress other people instead of being you know content with them and saving up until

33:41things get you know until they feel like okay i got this much saved so now little by little you

33:51know

33:51like maybe move to a nicer place not right away and then later on you know get your car a

34:01nice car

34:03car because i mean i said well yeah her car note i was like man you know i was telling

34:08my son that i was

34:09like man you know what i remember when car notes you know i remember car note was like like when

34:17i was in

34:17high college my car note was 63 dollars is a brand new car now that that's interesting because when i

34:24was

34:25younger i remember people i wasn't able to drive but i do remember saying that their car payments were

34:32like 200 a month not i remember i remember hyundai advertising 99 a month so then by the time when

34:41i was getting close to driving it was 200 a month but by the time i actually got a brand

34:47new car

34:48i actually remember my payment was 317 a month right and i'm i'm like wow man you know you know

34:57because it was my dad and he the one got the vehicle he said so you can have in college

35:03and you can come

35:04and visit us and you know you can get around on campus or when you need to go pick up

35:10things you

35:10don't have to always come home or they don't always have to come up there to bring stuff to me

35:15and i remember those days and i'm like wow man you know it seemed like it seemed like every two

35:24years card notes are higher and higher and higher and you know it's not just the card note it's the

35:34length of the card note now i remember it went from two years to four years to six years now

35:41it's

35:41almost like eight to ten years yeah and by the time you get done paying that car off it ain't

35:47gonna be worth nothing and you better hope that it still was you'd be ready to get another one

35:51exactly and i just think you know she wanted to prove which we all do we want to prove to

35:58everybody

36:00that we're doing well and that you know um things are going smoothly things can go be

36:07be going smoothly you don't have to do all of that and and like i said i just think that

36:14she didn't get she didn't get no advice from anybody who's been through

36:20them terrible times or she had seen them but she didn't know how they got it because like i said

36:26nothing and especially jobs nothing is guaranteed anymore nothing in life is guaranteed even in a

36:33relationship yeah exactly because you know like i said i i mean on my dad he had a job and

36:39he worked

36:40there for until he retired him and mom both and they spent like what 25 26 27 years at one

36:49company

36:50and you know what if a person can get five years out of one company nowadays they doing good

36:58wow so i just think that that she she really

37:05was trying to keep up with the joneses as we all say she was trying to impress the wrong people

37:13instead of impressing just herself and herself only even though she was saying wow i thought that now you

37:20was trying to impress and that's always the key you know i'm gonna let them know yeah i'm doing good

37:26i'm doing this i'm doing that and sometimes that's not the best thing to get out there and showcase like

37:34that because it will come back and haunt you wow you you said a lot of things in here that

37:43make so much

37:44sense but you reminded me about showing off trying to keep up with the joneses but doing it down on

37:50the

37:50job i know a lot of people that do it down on a job and i remember when i first

37:56got into retail

37:57management they said laren we want to go ahead and make you a manager and we're going to give you

38:04x y and z i think at the time i was making like i don't know five somewhere between five

38:11and

38:12six dollars an hour so they ended up doubling it i'm making 12 close to 13 an hour fresh out

38:22of high

38:23school and what happened what did i do i ran down there and got me a brand new car and

38:29went to the

38:30job and told the boss look at my new car he comes outside looks at it starts it up smelling

38:39the fresh paint

38:41complimenting saying everything's good i turned the car off i shut the door and he looks at me and he

38:46goes now i got you i said what i said i said what yeah he said now i got you

38:57yeah and

39:02at that moment i didn't understand what that meant but his attitude towards me changed because

39:08before i was treated like a king yeah i'm gonna give you this promotion you know sitting down he

39:16even had the district manager come out there and talk to me shake my hand everything's great

39:22once i started flexing and showing a new car and everything and the new clothes and the sneakers and

39:27all this extra stuff and he made that comment now i got you he did because his attitude was disgusting

39:33after that and he actually taught me and made me push myself to want to be a general manager

39:42so i could treat people better yeah and i think that he was actually the person i i don't fault

39:50him

39:50because he only knows what he knew and he only learned from the people very old school they would

39:56you know yell at you and be very disrespectful and you're gonna do it this way or my way of

40:01the highway

40:02type managers but he i actually remember saying wow one day when i get in his position i'm gonna know

40:08how

40:09to treat people with respect so but yeah that thing that you said about when you get down on a

40:15job

40:15things can change people can treat you different people lose jobs and all types of stuff yeah i know

40:22exactly what you mean with that part it's funny you mentioned what happened i had a similar situation on

40:30a job i was i was working at it as a a ca drug counselor and what happened was the

40:40other

40:41you know counselors they was like wondering why they hadn't you know they said why you're not a

40:48counselor i said that's a good question well come to find out it was because the school i went to

40:54was

40:54non-accredited which has kept me from getting a lot of high-paying jobs that i should have had

41:02and i explained to them and they was like well and i started showing them all the different certificates

41:10that i got from previous jobs so they was like okay dude so they would they said we are gonna

41:16since you

41:17relate so well to the clients we're gonna start a position just for you gonna be different you still

41:29gonna be working with them you know counseling them and everything and i was like cool and i had you

41:38know like the vehicle i had was it was an old grand prix it got me back and forth so

41:44then i decided

41:45i seen a little you know at that time was a nissan stanza with the moon roof ain't man you

41:54know

41:55i went and i got it and i traded in and boy and then my way and then my dad

42:03passed away so when i came back

42:08the soup the um supervisor that was over us she said you're acting different now

42:15and i said well i just got back from burying my dad and i left my mom in texas and

42:25i'm worried about her

42:27and i said so therefore yeah i'm not maybe i'm not the same as i once was before i left

42:36and next thing i know man all kind of accusations start coming up and i'm like where is this coming

42:43from

42:45and then finally you know the the head man he kept he called me in the office one day and

42:52he said look

42:53here this is this is what's that uh brought to me and it was brought to the the corporate people

43:01and you have a choice of either quitting or we can fire you and i'm like oh man i said

43:11okay

43:11you know so i said look i'm gonna go ahead and quit because i don't need that on my um

43:15you know

43:17work record and he said okay and then he did he made another little sly comment that i really didn't

43:24like and i looked at him i looked at him real sideways then then i started to say something

43:33but i didn't i said i'm gonna walk out of here with you know without all of this so i

43:42went and i looked

43:44for a job somewhere else it was a drug counselor but it was the the company was a little bit

43:50farther out

43:51and so they you know they hired me and i said i was working there and all of a sudden

43:58they called

43:58me in the office and and the gentleman said hey he said i um need to ask you a question

44:05about something

44:05i said yeah go ahead and then the lady she was the nurse she was she was a nurse for

44:12all the drug

44:12treatment centers in the area and she came up and she said they just started saying that she said i

44:20don't know what the deal was she said but they started lying on him for whatever reason it was

44:28and he said okay he said hey man he said you get ready to get your own office we can

44:32get you the keys

44:33and then you know my mom she was telling me how hard it was for her and i said okay

44:41i'm going i'm

44:42going back to houston you know but you know that was i went through the similar thing and what's so

44:50bad about it it wasn't a brand new vehicle but it was new to me like i always may not

44:58be brand new to

45:00everybody else but it was new to me because i'm just not on it and i had a car note

45:06don't don't get me

45:08wrong i came back here man and i had to take a less paying job but i needed some type

45:15of income

45:16coming in to at least try to help my mom pay child support you know i paid pay for this

45:25vehicle

45:26and amen it was a struggle right that you know that's why when i read this it made me think

45:35i'm

45:35like well see what she messed up as she got a new vehicle she got a bigger a more expensive

45:41place to

45:42stay in um she taking vacations she's doing going out to eat more when you start doing that

45:49it's somebody that's looking at you and it could be a co-worker that you call a friend that's jealous

45:57and they will go into that office and they would tell them all kind of things and next thing you

46:06know

46:07you out on the streets but they have their job but you don't know who it was until maybe somebody

46:14else

46:15know it and they tell you this is the person that was doing it because that's what happened

46:22when um this job at the drug treatment center it was it was another person and i'm like how can

46:30they

46:30get us mixed up i'm six four and a half this guy here was like five eight

46:39you know and and i was like okay so you know i i never looked back

46:48i think i did use them for a reference one or two times but really i just kind of just

46:54dropped

46:55it and i and my mom she said what did your dad always tell you when you got your when

47:00you got a

47:01car she said when you got the car it was new for you but not for them she said but

47:07still there was some

47:09jealousy she said somebody in that company was jealous and they went back and just made up a bunch of

47:16stuff and i'm like yeah i uh somebody asked me about uh they were like laryn did you uh write

47:23that

47:24book yet um and i told them that i'm working on it i'm gonna get the right person and the

47:30right setup

47:31to make it work right but uh oh yeah all of that stuff is going to be in my book

47:35because i'm going to

47:36take um the my work life because let me tell you i've seen some things and then of course my

47:44personal

47:44life and then you wrap it up and that's a whole nother story but the title title of my book

47:50and

47:50we need to do a segment about you know workplace issues but um after all the that i've been through

47:56is there going to be the title of my book oh man yeah well we are up against the clock

48:07here i'm

48:08gonna try to sum this up real quick so you can go ahead and let us know what you got

48:11going on this week

48:12but this is a prime example of lifestyle creep when again i this is only my opinion i can't tell

48:19you what to do i'm only a financial coach but what you should avoid is increasing your lifestyle when

48:26your paycheck increases the name of the game is to have more coming in and going out you don't want

48:34it to be 50 coming in and 50 going out because you have no buffer and emergency funds is when

48:40you save

48:41up anywhere between three and 12 months of your expenses because if anything happens during that

48:48time frame three months you're at a high risk six months you're a little bit better nine you're better

48:55than the average 12 you're set you don't need to save more than 12 there's steps to do after you

48:59say

48:59save the whole year salary but that gives you enough time that if your boss or anybody decides

49:05to look at you sideways tell you one thing or the other you have 12 months to get your act

49:10together

49:10to find something else when you don't save and you don't have that buffer for that emergency fund

49:15that joseph fund you're setting yourself up for fan for issue when there is famine so please be careful

49:24out there and when it comes to cars and housing and all your expenses when you start to spend more

49:31than 30 percent of what you have coming in you're at risk when it comes to your your housing so

49:36be

49:36careful with that and the car payment that's a whole another situation if nothing nothing was wrong with

49:42the car in the first place maybe you didn't need to replace it if it was breaking down and giving

49:46you

49:46issues that's one thing but again is it new to is it brand new or is it just new to

49:52you what type of car

49:53did you get so that's a whole nother story and i know we up against the clock so bird man

49:58go ahead

50:33and other than that man you know um i finally got my video program up but now i'm having issues

50:41with

50:41my youtube channel all all my videos when i pull it up when i try to add a video it

50:52don't show up

50:53none of my old videos show up so i got i gotta need to contact them i got my new

50:58video program i started

51:00doing um new videos with the poetry i have so that that's good um i'm getting good i already um

51:09then

51:09laid down a couple uh bass tracks for this song and see which one she likes the best

52:08new stuff i know she got a couple of my videos there and other than that i'm cool i'm good

52:16i'm good i'm

52:18almost finished with my 17th poetry book which i i i still just just did 15 but like i i

52:25told you i'm

52:27always putting stuff together not a number of them so that when next time i want to go ahead and

52:33release

52:34it it it's already taken care of so now i'm almost done with number 17 and hopefully within

52:44the end of the year i'll be starting on number 18 just just to keep me busy i know that's

52:50right

52:51that's good that's amazing congratulations on that yeah that is a big accomplishment

52:59all right well we are going to go ahead and get on up out of here um i do appreciate

53:07on i was just thinking we are definitely uh right in history here with all the conversations that we

53:13have uh speaking about financial awareness and just the core of it too like uh the music that we speak

53:22about every week the names that we speak about um it'll be just curious that when my grandkids can

53:30listen to this and be like wow look at those people that they were talking about and they can actually

53:35go back and do research on that oh yeah and by the way these financial principles that we speak about

53:43they'll be able to do some research on that too because everything that we speak about here

53:49remember history doesn't necessarily repeat itself but it often rhymes so same scenarios that people

53:58go through time and time again your parents your great grandparents their parents have all been

54:06through it through some sort of a cycle one way or the other it just continuously repeats itself

54:11but now we got computers now we got now they're gonna have robots and they're gonna have all those

54:17extra things and ai and you know flying cars and stuff but it will be the same exact thing so

54:24yeah and you

54:25know so funny is we talk about numbers and you know what i hated math math math and english i

54:35hated it and guess

54:37what i'm i'm i'm using using it every day now exactly same thing i've math please but i love it

54:45i love it

54:46when it comes time to uh calculating you know you know bank accounts and stuff oh yeah

54:55but it's

54:56no no no but now oh yeah i've my calculator be clicking right away every single week

55:04and oh yeah i bet you do
