05:14Tonight, this episode, we're diving into a couple things that are in the news today.
05:17You know, it's been such a somber week with all the news that's been going on
05:20and all the difficult things in the world of professional wrestling.
05:23But today, got to address some more exciting things.
05:26One, people have been wondering what is going on with Sheamus.
05:29Well, his contract as of today has officially expired with WWE.
05:33He is now free to sign wherever he'd like.
05:36Now, the word is no formal discussions have taken place between Sheamus and AEW,
05:40but that there will be interest from AEW that he has many members of the AEW roster
05:46who are advocating for him to come into the company.
05:48And I'm going to say what nobody's going to want to say, but you know me.
05:51I shoot it straight with you guys.
05:52I say what's on my mind.
05:54In light of all the sadness that we have gone through as wrestling fans the last several weeks,
05:58Sheamus coming to AEW is a beautiful thing.
06:01It brings a positive vibe to something where we're trying to put best foot forward
06:06and really celebrate the business that has entertained us all so much.
06:10And a great way to do that is to let Sheamus come in and really throw down, and for no
06:14other reason,
06:15he's somebody who has a very personal connection with Ben Satterly, also known as Pac.
06:22Pac, I apologize.
06:23There's been a lot of that online today.
06:24People clarifying it's not Pac, it's Pac because his dad gave him that nickname
06:28because he had a six-pack as a child.
06:31I think Sheamus would do a great job going there at this specific time
06:35because of his close relationship with Pac and being able to really be inspired.
06:42When you're wrestling for WWE for as long as he was, you start to wonder if these guys still have
06:47the heart.
06:47I think right now would be a great time.
06:49He'll be super motivated in a way just in honor of someone who meant so much to him.
06:54If you didn't get the opportunity, you've got to look online.
06:57Find Drew McIntyre and Finn Balor's messages about Pac.
07:01I mean, wow, tear-jerking stuff, incredible stuff.
07:04These guys, it really is a brotherhood, a family, a fraternity.
07:09And Drew McIntyre said something that I thought was so poignant.
07:11He said, you know, when you look back years and years from now, when you look back at your wrestling
07:14career,
07:15do you want to look back and people talk about what a bastard you were?
07:18And I don't think he was using that in reference to Pac.
07:21What a horrible person you were, basically.
07:23Or do you want him to look back and talk about how great a human being you were?
07:27And he talked about how he wants to be that kind of guy.
07:29He wants people to look backwards and have fond memories of him and respect his career and appreciate his contributions.
07:36And I love that.
07:37And he kept referencing how that's what Pac was.
07:40Pac was amazing.
07:42So, again, don't want to get down a somber note today because we're in a best foot forward kind of
07:46situation.
07:46But I felt that that was necessary to bring up.
07:48I really did. It was beautiful.
07:49Like I said, there's been so many different things out today from different talents.
07:53AEW releasing a much more extended version of their talent responding to the passing.
07:58Check those out if you get the opportunity.
08:00It's good stuff.
08:02Tear jerking, but it's good stuff.
08:03Another silly thing from today's news.
08:07Goldberg's son, Gage, who is currently playing football for Colorado under Deion Sanders,
08:12who played football, oddly, for the Falcons with Goldberg back in the day when Bill Goldberg was an NFL player.
08:18Gage was asked about the potential to join wrestling when he's done with football.
08:24And he was like, absolutely, it's something I'd like to do.
08:26I think everybody is kind of surprised.
08:29He mentioned in his interview, and I apologize, I don't know who it was with.
08:32I got my information from F4W online through Dave Meltzer.
08:37But he made reference to the fact that they talked about how there was an MIL deal offered to Gage
08:44by Triple H,
08:45that Goldberg had him turn it down because he didn't think it was a high enough amount of money.
08:50Gage, at first, he mentioned that his dad was not on board with him being a wrestler early on.
08:54But then as his dad came back to WWE 2016 and when he finally wrapped up in 2025, the blockage
09:02or the wall started to come down a little bit about his father's acceptance of him going into the professional
09:08wrestling business.
09:09And I think at this point, it's almost like a foregone conclusion.
09:11Unless Gage finds a way to make it to the NFL, I think we really might see him in a
09:15wrestling ring sometime in the near future.
09:17I really do.
09:18And it sounds like, you know, obviously, he's fully committed to football right now.
09:21He'll probably give that as long a run as he can, finish up his college program.
09:26If he's fortunate enough, I'd love to see him go pro, but I don't know if that's going to happen
09:29either way.
09:30I think once all that's done, he'll probably, I suspect because of who Bill Goldberg is, he'll finish up his
09:36degree program, have something to fall back on, and then he'll give wrestling a go.
09:40Should be pretty exciting.
09:41I can't wait to see, you know, fans react.
09:44You know, sometimes second generation wrestlers get like a bad rap.
09:47This is a unique situation when it comes to Gage because Bill Goldberg is not known for being like a
09:52catch-as-catch-can wrestler.
09:53He's not known for being the most amazing ring technician.
09:57And Gage, for as much as he may not be as big as his father, right, he does have an
10:03athleticism.
10:04And perhaps because he has some fandom for wrestling because of his father, may even turn out to be an
10:10even better professional wrestler than his father.
10:12I mean, I almost don't know how he couldn't be.
10:14His dad wasn't, like I said, he wasn't, you know, Mr. Moves.
10:18He had more than WWE let him have.
10:20In WCW, you'd see him do some really good grappling moves and whatnot, but certainly not in WWE.
10:25So, we'll have to see where that plays out in the next couple years, but at least it's something to
10:29look forward to.
10:29But tonight, the thing I really wanted to get into is how excited I am for the NXT Women's Championship
10:34Battle Royal.
10:35The participants in the Battle Royal have been announced.
10:38And let's be honest, it's a great list.
10:41They mentioned that there were going to be main roster stars, NXT stars.
10:44There were going to be people from Evolve, AAA, TNA.
10:47So, let's run it down.
10:49From the main roster, Ivy Nile and Kiana James both appearing in the tournament or in the Battle Royal.
10:56From NXT, Ariana Grace, Chantel Monroe, Izzy Dami, Callie Armstrong, Layla Diggs, Lizzy Rain, Reina Vulcan, Skylar Rey, Thea Hale,
11:07and Zarya will all be in that Battle Royal.
11:10From there, WWE's Evolve brand, Adelicious, and Nikita Lyons, who used to be in NXT, now she's the Evolve Women's
11:17Champion, they will be in the Battle Royal.
11:19And from there, AAA, Lucha Libre, the current Reina, the Reina's Champion, La Catalina, and Lady Shani will be in
11:26the Battle Royal.
11:27And then here's where it gets interesting, TNA Wrestling, Indi Hartwell, Heather by Elegance, M by Elegance, and the TNA
11:36Knockouts Champion, Zia Brookside,
11:38all will be in this 20-woman, over-the-top rope Battle Royal to crown the number one contender to
11:43face Kehlani Jordan for the NXT Women's Championship.
11:46And listen, looking at the list of people who are on here, I'm not sure what they'll do, because let's
11:51break it down this way.
11:52If you look at the main roster stars, I would not be opposed to Keanu James winning.
11:56I'm going to pick a winner from each category.
11:58Keanu James would be a great main roster person to win this, because she's really not doing anything anymore since
12:04the separation from Julia.
12:05She's an incredibly talented performer.
12:07This would give her an opportunity to be in a major program for the NXT Women's Championship.
12:11Maybe she goes back to NXT to kind of refresh herself before coming back up to the main roster.
12:15I don't know.
12:16I'd be okay with that.
12:17In the NXT group, it's hard to argue with Zaria, but she's the NXT Women's North American Champion, so I
12:22don't think she'll get it.
12:24Reina Vulcan could possibly do it.
12:25She attacked Keanu James this week.
12:27I keep saying Keanu James.
12:28I apologize.
12:29Kehlani Jordan.
12:29She attacked Kehlani Jordan this week.
12:31That would make a lot of sense.
12:33Don't know how I feel about that.
12:34Izzy Dami also would make a lot of sense.
12:38Ariana Grace could be a shock surprise.
12:39If I was going to pick one person, though, I really feel like this would be one of those interesting
12:45times where you could give it to somebody like a Thea Hale who just lost to Zaria, but that could
12:50have been a loss to help propel her to a main event level feud for the NXT Women's Championship.
12:55As weird as that is, that's the way WWE books things sometimes.
12:58From Evolve, Adalicious is not winning.
13:00Nikita Lyons would be interesting, but I think if you're in Evolve, there's a reason you're involved because you're not
13:05ready to be in NXT.
13:05And if you're not ready to be in NXT, I don't see them booking you to be the NXT number
13:09one contender of the Women's Championship.
13:11From Lucha Libre, AAA Worldwide, I would not be surprised to see La Catalina win.
13:16I know that WWE would like to fast-track her to their roster and get her out of AAA sooner
13:21than later because of how incredible she is.
13:23I would not be surprised.
13:25But Lady Shani, not happening.
13:28She's not a well-enough established star.
13:30Even if WWE wanted to capitalize on the popularity of the AAA investment, they would still go with La Catalina
13:37over Lady Shani.
13:38Just saying.
13:38And when it comes to the TNA talent, I'd love to see Indi Hartwell do it.
13:42She was the NXT Women's Champion, got a Raw deal.
13:45All these other people could come to Raw and be Women's Champion.
13:48Kalani Jordan was there only a week ago in the run-up to Money in the Bank in a qualifying
13:54match.
13:54And she didn't have to give up her NXT Women's Championship to be on the main roster.
13:58But Indi Hartwell did.
13:59Oba Femi did.
14:01Other people, when you had Becky Lynch as champion, she didn't have to give it up.
14:04Other people haven't had to give it up.
14:05But I've always felt like Indi Hartwell got a Raw deal.
14:08She got to the main roster and never had any real plans for her.
14:10So if she won, I'd be cool with that.
14:12I really think that Zia Brookside winning would be huge.
14:18And here's why.
14:19If Zia Brookside wins, if this is a way for WWE to maybe entice her to coming to WWE again,
14:26she was there before, bring her back, now that they have birthright as a faction and her father
14:31was Robbie Brookside, a trainer for WWE, makes a lot of sense.
14:35I don't see them poaching another talent from TNA or else TNA really is going to pull the
14:39plug on this partnership.
14:40But she, of the people from TNA, I think she would be the most likely to win.
14:44Of all those people I said, what do I think they're actually going to do?
14:47I think they're going to give it to Reena Vulcan because it's easy, lazy booking, and
14:51that's what WWE does.
14:52But either way, it doesn't really matter to me.
14:54This list of ladies, now they could have done better.
14:56Obviously, they could have put higher level talent in here.
14:58I'm kind of surprised you don't see a Natalya in here.
15:01I thought she would be.
15:02Or just expand it.
15:04Why do 20 women?
15:04Do 30.
15:05Bring 10 more people in, and you could have had some real main roster stars.
15:10Because let's be honest, having Ivy Nile and Kiana James doesn't really make you feel
15:14like the main roster is represented very well, you could have taken people who are not at
15:19the highest.
15:20Roxanne Perez could have been there.
15:23Raquel Rodriguez could have been there.
15:24That way you get some Judgment Day influence.
15:26You could have had, like I said, you could have had Natalya be there.
15:30It would make a lot of sense.
15:31If you wanted to have a vision presence, Maxine Dupree would make a lot of sense because
15:36it wouldn't be shocking to see her get eliminated.
15:39So I'm not sure.
15:40I'm not sure how this is going to go down.
15:41Like I said, if I had to pick somebody, it would be Raina Vulcan just because she attacked
15:44Kalani Jordan.
15:45It makes a lot of sense based on that storyline and its easy, lazy booking, which WWE excels
15:50at.
15:51But we'll have to wait and see where it goes and see what they decide to do.
15:54It should be exciting no matter what they do.
