00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name. Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace, that they may be cleansed from all
03:26their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind.
03:30Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
04:39As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 98
04:59Sing to the Lord a new song, for he performs amazing deeds.
05:04His right hand and his mighty arm accomplish deliverance.
05:09The Lord demonstrates his power to deliver.
05:13In the sight of the nations, he reveals his justice.
05:17He remains loyal and faithful to the family of Israel.
05:21All the ends of the earth, see our God deliver us.
05:26Shout out praises to the Lord, all the earth.
05:29Break out in a joyful shout, and sing.
05:33Sing to the Lord, accompanied by a harp.
05:35Accompanied by a harp, and the sound of music.
05:39With trumpets and the blaring of the ram's horn, shout out praises before the King, the Lord.
05:46Let the sea and everything in it shout, along with the world and all who live in it.
05:54Let the rivers clap their hands.
05:56Let the mountains sing in unison before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth.
06:02He judges the world fairly, and the nations in a just manner.
06:08Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
06:12As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be.
06:16World without end.
06:18Amen.
06:22Psalm 99
06:25The Lord reigns, the nations tremble.
06:28He sits enthroned above the cherubim.
06:31The earth shakes.
06:33The Lord is elevated in Zion.
06:36He is exalted over all the nations.
06:39Let them praise your great and awesome name.
06:43He is holy.
06:44The King is strong.
06:46He loves justice.
06:47You ensure that legal decisions will be made fairly.
06:51You promote justice and equity in Jacob.
06:56Praise the Lord our God.
06:58Worship before his footstool.
07:00He is holy.
07:03Moses and Aaron were amongst his priests.
07:06Samuel was one of those who prayed to him.
07:09They prayed to the Lord, and he answered them.
07:12He spoke to them from a pillar of cloud.
07:15They obeyed his regulations and the ordinance he gave them.
07:20O Lord our God, you answered them.
07:23They found you to be a forgiving God, but also one who punished their sinful deeds.
07:30Praise the Lord our God.
07:32Worship upon his holy hill, for the Lord our God is holy.
07:37Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
07:44is now, and ever shall be, world without end.

08:04Enter his presence with joyful singing.
08:08Acknowledge that the Lord is God.
08:11He made us, and we belong to him.
08:13We are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
08:18Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise.
08:23Give him thanks.
08:24Praise his name, for the Lord is good.
08:27His loyal love endures, and he is faithful through all generations.
08:34Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning,
08:41is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
08:45Amen.
08:48Psalm 101
08:52I will sing about loyalty and justice.
08:55To you, O Lord, I will sing praises.
08:58I will walk in the way of integrity.
09:01When will you come to me?
09:04I will conduct my business with integrity in the midst of my palace.
09:09I will not even consider doing what is dishonest.
09:12I hate doing evil.
09:14I will have no part of it.
09:16I will have nothing to do with a perverse person.
09:20I will not permit evil.
09:22I will destroy anyone who slanders his neighbor in secret.
09:27I will not tolerate anyone who has a haughty demeanor and an arrogant attitude.
09:34I will favor the honest people of the land and allow them to live with me.
09:39Those who walk in the way of integrity will attend me.
09:45Deceitful people will not live in my palace.
09:49Liars will not be welcome in my presence.
09:53Each morning I will destroy all the wicked people in the land and remove all evildoers from the city of
10:00the Lord.
10:01Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
10:06as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
10:12Amen.
10:18The prophet Zechariah chapter 4
10:22The angel who talked with me came again and waked me, as a man who is wakened out of his
10:27sleep.
10:28And he said to me,
10:29What do you see?
10:31I said,
10:32I see.
10:33And behold, a lampstand, all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it.
10:38I did seven lamps on it.
10:41There are seven pipes to each of the lamps, which are on the top of it, and two olive trees
10:46by it, one to the right and one to the left.
10:50I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying,
10:54What are these, my Lord?
10:58The angel who talked with me, answered me,
11:01Don't you know what they are?
11:04I said, No, my Lord.
11:07Then he answered and spoke to me, saying,
11:09This is Yahweh's word to Zerubbabel, saying,
11:13Not by might, nor by power, but my spirit, says Yahweh of armies.
11:19Who are you, great mountain?
11:21Before Zerubbabel you are a plain,
11:23and he will bring out the capstone with shouts of
11:26Grace, grace to it.
11:30Moreover, Yahweh's word came to me, saying,
11:33The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house.
11:37His hands also will finish it,
11:40and you will know that Yahweh of armies has sent me to you.
11:44Indeed, who despises the day of small things?
11:48For these seven shall rejoice,
11:50and shall see the plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel.
11:54These are Yahweh's eyes,
11:56which run back and forth throughout the whole earth.
12:01Then I asked him,
12:03But what of the two olive trees,
12:05to the right of the lampstand and to the left?
12:08I asked him the second time,
12:10What are the two olive branches,
12:12which are beside the two golden spouts,
12:14that pour the golden oil out of themselves?
12:18He answered me,
12:19Don't you know what they are?
12:22I said, No, my Lord.
12:24And he replied,
12:26These are the two anointed ones,
12:27who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.
12:32This is the word of the Lord.
12:35Thanks be to God.
12:47Mary said,
12:48My soul exalts the Lord,
12:51and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
12:55because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
13:01For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
13:06because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
13:09and holy is his name.
13:12From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
13:18He has demonstrated power with his arm.
13:22He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
13:28He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
13:31and has lifted up those of lowly position.
13:35He has filled the hungry with good things,
13:38and has sent the rich away empty.
13:41He has helped his servant Israel,
13:44remembering his mercy,
13:46as he promised to our ancestors,
13:49to Abraham,
13:50and to his descendants for ever.
13:54Glory be to the Father,
13:56and to the Son,
13:57and to the Holy Spirit,
13:59as it was in the beginning,
14:01is now,
14:02and ever shall be,
14:03world without end.
14:05Amen.
14:11The Gospel according to Saint Luke,
14:13chapter 14.
14:18When Jesus went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees,
14:22on the Sabbath,
14:22to eat bread,
14:24they were watching him.
14:26And behold,
14:27a certain man who had dropsy was in front of him.
14:31Jesus answering,
14:32spoke to the lawyers and the Pharisees,
14:34saying,
14:35Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?
14:38But they were silent.
14:40He took them,
14:42and healed him,
14:44and let him go.
14:45And he said,
14:46Which of you,
14:47if your son or an ox fell into a well,
14:51would not pull him out on the Sabbath day?
14:56They could not answer him regarding these things.
15:01Then when Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honour,
15:05he taught them a parable.
15:09He said to them,
15:10When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast,
15:13do not take the place of honour,
15:15because someone more distinguished than you
15:18may have been invited by your host.
15:21So the host who invited both of you will come and say to you,
15:24Give this man your place.
15:27Then, ashamed,
15:29you will begin to move to the least important place.
15:32But when you are invited,
15:34go and take the least important place,
15:37so that when your host comes,
15:39he will say to you,
15:40My friend,
15:41move up here to a better place.
15:44Then you will be honoured
15:45in the presence of all
15:47who share the meal with you.
15:49For everyone who exalts himself
15:51will be humbled,
15:53but the one who humbles himself
15:55will be exalted.
15:59He also said to the man who had invited him,
16:03When you host a dinner or a banquet,
16:05don't invite your friends or your brothers
16:07or your relatives or rich neighbours,
16:10in order that you are invited by them in return
16:13and get repaid.
16:15But when you host an elaborate meal,
16:17invite the poor,
16:19the crippled,
16:19the lame and the blind.
16:22Then you will be blessed,
16:23because they cannot repay you,
16:25for you will be repaid
16:27at the resurrection of the righteous.
16:33When one of those at the meal
16:35with Jesus heard this,
16:36he said to him,
16:38Blessed is everyone
16:39who will feast in the kingdom of God.
16:42But Jesus said to him,
16:45A man once gave a great banquet
16:47and invited many guests.
16:50At the time for the banquet,
16:52he sent his slave to tell those
16:53who had been invited,
16:54Come,
16:55because everything is now ready for you.
16:58But one after another,
17:00they all began to make excuses.
17:03The first said to him,
17:04I have bought a field
17:06and I must go out and see it.
17:08Please excuse me.
17:11Another said,
17:12I have just bought five yoke of oxen
17:14and I am going out to examine them.
17:18Please excuse me.
17:20Another said,
17:21I have just gotten married
17:23and I cannot come.
17:27So the slave came back
17:29and reported this to the master.
17:31Then the master of the household
17:33was furious and said to his slave,
17:36Go out quickly into the streets
17:38and alleyways of the cities
17:41and bring in the poor,
17:42the crippled,
17:43the blind and the lame.
17:46Then the slave said,
17:48Sir, what you have instructed
17:49has been done
17:50and there is still room.
17:55So the master said to his slave,
17:57Go out into the highways
17:59and the country roads
18:01and urge people to come in
18:03that my house be filled.
18:07I tell you,
18:09not one of those individuals
18:10who were invited
18:11will taste my banquet.
18:15This is the word of the Lord.
18:18Thanks be to God.
18:20Amen.
18:29Now, according to your word,
18:31Sovereign Lord,
18:32permit your servant
18:33to depart in peace.
18:36For my eyes have seen
18:37your salvation
18:38that you have prepared
18:40in the presence of all peoples,
18:43a light for revelation
18:45to the Gentiles
18:46and for glory
18:48to your people Israel.
18:51Glory be to the Father
18:53and to the Son
18:54and to the Holy Spirit,
18:55as it was in the beginning,
18:57is now and ever shall be,
19:00world without end.
19:02Amen.
19:07I believe in God,
19:09the Father Almighty,
19:10maker of heaven and earth,
19:12and in Jesus Christ,
19:14his only Son,
19:15our Lord,
19:16who was conceived
19:17by the Holy Spirit,
19:19born of the Virgin Mary,
19:21suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
19:24was crucified,
19:26dead,
19:27and buried.
19:28He descended into hell.
19:30On the third day,
19:31he rose again from the dead.
19:34He ascended into heaven
19:36and is sitting
19:37at the right hand of God,
19:39the Father Almighty.
19:41From there,
19:42he shall come to judge
19:43the living and the dead.
19:46I believe in the Holy Spirit,
19:48the Holy Catholic Church,
19:50the communion of saints,
19:51the forgiveness of sins,
19:53the resurrection of the body,
19:56and the life everlasting.
19:59Amen.
20:04The Lord be with you
20:07and with your spirit.
20:11Let us pray.
20:14Lord, have mercy upon us.
20:18Christ, have mercy upon us.
20:22Lord, have mercy upon us.
20:29Our Father,
20:30who is in heaven,
20:32holy is your name.
20:35May your kingdom come.
20:37May your will be done
20:39on earth as it is in heaven.
20:42Give us this day
20:43our daily bread.
20:45Forgive us our trespasses,
20:47as we forgive those
20:48who trespass against us.
20:51Lead us not into temptation,
20:54but deliver us from evil.
20:57For yours is the kingdom,
20:59the power and the glory,
21:01for ever and ever.
21:04Amen.
21:09O Lord, show your mercy upon us
21:11and grant us your salvation.
21:17Protect and guide those
21:20in authority over us
21:22and mercifully hear us
21:25when we call upon you.
21:28Endue your ministers
21:30with righteousness
21:31and make your chosen people joyful.
21:37O Lord, save your people
21:40and bless your inheritance.
21:45Give peace in our time,
21:47O Lord,
21:49because there is none other
21:50who fights for us
21:52but only you, O God.
21:55O God, make clean
21:57our hearts within us
22:00and take not
22:01your Holy Spirit from us.
22:11Let us pray.
22:14O almighty and most merciful God,
22:17of your bountiful goodness
22:19keep us,
22:20we beseech you,
22:21from all things that may hurt us,
22:24that we, being ready both in body
22:26and soul,
22:28may cheerfully accomplish
22:29the things that you would have us do.
22:33Through Jesus Christ,
22:34our Lord.
22:36Amen.
22:44O God,
22:46from whom all holy desires,
22:49all good counsels
22:50and all just works proceed,
22:53give to your servants
22:54that peace
22:55which the world cannot give,
22:57that our hearts
22:59may be set to obey
23:00your commandments,
23:02and also
23:03that, by you,
23:04we, being defended
23:06from the fear
23:07of our enemies,
23:08may pass our time
23:10in rest
23:10and quietness.
23:12Through the merits
23:13of Jesus Christ,
23:15our Saviour.
23:16Amen.
23:21Lighten our darkness,
23:22we beseech you,
23:23O Lord,
23:24and by your great mercy
23:26defend us all
23:27from perils
23:29and dangers
23:29of this night.
23:31For the love
23:32of your only Son,
23:34our Saviour,
23:34Jesus Christ.
23:36Amen.
23:40Almighty God,
23:41who has given us grace
23:43at this time
23:44with one accord
23:45to make our common
23:46supplications
23:47to you,
23:48and promises
23:49that when two or three
23:51are gathered together
23:52in your name,
23:52you will grant
23:54their requests.
23:57Fulfill now,
23:58O Lord,
23:59the desires
24:00and petitions
24:00of your servants,
24:02as may be
24:03most beneficial
24:04for them,
24:06granting us
24:07in this world
24:08knowledge
24:08of your truth
24:09and in the world
24:11to come
24:12life everlasting.
24:14Amen.
24:17With the grace
24:18of our Lord
24:19Jesus Christ
24:20and the love
24:20of God
24:21and the fellowship
24:22of the Holy Spirit
24:23be with us all
24:25evermore.
24:27Amen.
