00:00We are turning the page to the Titans game here and the I'm actually excited about this game
00:05because I think I think lost in all of this is what is a pretty obvious thing for the Browns

00:12think about which is can we learn our lesson from the Jets game it is apparent that with the way
00:18the Browns attacked that Jets game they maybe came out of that extended by coming off the Thursday
00:24night football win over the Steelers feeling themselves a little bit here you could probably
00:29say the same thing could happen after a pretty big win in the division on Sunday so treating the
00:36Titans with the proper respect which means they're an NFL team that is coming off their first win of
00:41the season and they can beat you if you let them this feels like a good opportunity for the Browns
00:47to go ahead and show hey we have learned that lesson it's really easy to dismiss this Titans
00:51team Cam Ward continues to look awful they finally had some defensive help in the game this last
00:55weekend uh and and really the defense looked great Jeffrey Simmons looked awesome in that game but
01:00ultimately they had 186 yards of total offense like it's funny you know we talked about the
01:05Guardians and the Rays series and the conversation kept going back to well it's like the Spider-Man
01:10meme point you know the one one's pointing at the other they basically do the same things the Rays just
01:13do it better than what the Guardians do this is the same convo the Titans are trying to do the
01:18same
01:18things that the Browns do they just the the Browns just do it a little bit better than what the
01:22Titans
01:23do so they're gonna try to win defensively is the point they're gonna try to win uh sacking the
01:27quarterback and getting three turnovers like they did last week and they have no offensive identity
01:31in the slightest bet so while we are gonna get you ready for the Titans game starting today
01:36uh we do have a fair amount of sound coming in from the team with uh the party that was
01:40at
01:41Deshaun's house that we'll get to on today's show but we also heard from Jerry Judy today and
01:45obviously Jerry's coming off his best game in a minute here and his name has also been brought up
01:50in a lot of trade discussions anyone that uh that is reporting on names that are available are saying
01:56the Browns are either actively shopping or actively listening to offers for Jerry Judy and I you know
02:05there's the the the part of this of should they which we'll get to here but Jerry Judy was asked
02:11about
02:11these rumors today and I really like several of the things that he had to say about it I mean
02:16you
02:17see it around but you don't do nothing about it you just you see it but you can't do nothing

02:22you just keep continuing to do what you do every day so no talks with like A.B. or anybody
02:26in the
02:26front office about like where you stand having like come here and say like hey you want to keep you
02:30here you want to maintain like I still want to do it um I'm gonna keep that you know we
02:34just we just
02:36keep we just keeping it day by day man we're doing day by day any party you want to go
02:40somewhere where
02:41you have a bigger role um I'm focused on this week man I'm not I'm not answering no type of
02:46questions like that brother right that was a really funny I don't know if anybody else did it
02:50when I was listening to this because that's composite of three straight questions about this
02:54when he said I'm just I'm gonna avoid that question like that right now brother when he said that I
03:00genuinely smiled because it was like that's a great answer right like you didn't want to get tripped up
03:04yeah well but I mean the reason why you wouldn't want to get tripped up is because you've clearly
03:07already had conversations with Andrew Barry about being traded well yeah and it's also it's the
03:11understanding of um you could deny it but I wouldn't blame Jerry if after what is it now three and
03:18a half
03:18years two and a half years here in Cleveland he thinks to himself I don't know this is the right
03:23situation for me maybe I can go ahead and rejuvenate my career elsewhere so sidestepping that I think is the
03:30right way you don't have to lie but also you you go ahead and make sure you avoid
03:34the obvious answer that would get a lot of attention yeah he just didn't want to outwardly
03:37lie about it was my takeaway and then clearly they have had discussions now what I think is
03:41interesting is how they clearly have had discussions about what they would do with the trade and and I
03:46don't know how deep it's gotten or anything like that but they've talked about it and I just I don't
03:50find it coincidental that uh after this week Todd Munkin spoke the way he did in the locker room
03:57basically saying he was wrong about Jerry Judy and then also has just gone really hard on the pain of
04:02the
04:02idea that like they're a better team with Jerry Judy on it and he wants Jerry Judy around yeah
04:06obviously all this comes down to value and I think sometimes people might hear well if the Browns
04:12trade Jerry Judy that means they're sellers I think Andrew Barry comes from the Ivy League
04:18thinking and I'm borrowing from baseball on this the Guardians are never pure buyers or pure sellers
04:23there's they're always looking for value out there I think that's at the heart of the idea of Jerry Judy
04:28meaning he's probably not in our long-term plans here if someone's willing to give something of
04:34value in what appears to be a seller's market we have to listen I think that's the right way to
04:40approach it I'm a little worried that the Browns are just pot committed to trading him
04:44which to me would mean maybe that's maybe that's what his team is pushing for meaning the agents are
04:49pushing for sure yeah um I I'm open to hearing the value of Jerry Judy though pick swaps don't really
04:55do
04:55it for me uh you know turning a seventh rounder and a sixth rounder for Jerry Judy has no value
05:00to me
05:01in November but I I just come back to it and like to me the value for Jerry Judy is
05:07not just he's
05:08coming off his best game in over a year to me the value is it is apparent that he is
05:12having a role
05:13in the development of Casey Concepcion and Denzel Boston while also being great insurance for if those
05:19guys get hurt there's just a big part of me that goes all right the value has to be pretty
05:24immense
05:25to take Jerry off this roster because I think he does have value here beyond did you put up 50
05:31yards or more this you can make an argument that uh four and two can easily be two and four
05:36if Jerry
05:36Judy's not on this team the Steelers game and then obviously the game this last week those are two
05:40uh primo catches that he made in those spots that if he doesn't come down with those footballs again
05:44in those in those two games specifically you're not winning those games so like you can point to it and
05:49there's all sorts of other things that I can point to as far as his value this year uh he
05:53has in
05:54about 10 fewer catches right there neck and neck with Casey Concepcion as far as production is
05:59concerned like like he is he's mattered on this team and so I'm with you like it's got to be
06:03and
06:04I don't know what that compensation is maybe that's what we need to discuss is it a third rounder is
06:07it
06:08a fourth rounder where do you where do you draw the line on where you're willing to get rid of
06:11Jerry
06:11Judy because a fifth rounder isn't it for me and a sixth rounder isn't it for me I think it's
06:15got to
06:15start somewhere in that third fourth round territory and I don't know that a team is going to give that
06:19up
06:19for Jerry Judy yeah I and I think that's the other part of this if you if you you trade
06:23him for
06:24anything less than a fourth rounder and I know you can get around this because of pick swaps but even
06:28if you turn a sixth rounder and a fourth rounder I'll still look at that and go I think he's
06:33worth
06:33more to this team than that and to me again I I put this more on the the clubhouse stuff
06:39like my biggest
06:40concern last year is it felt like whatever Jerry was going through was bleeding into the clubhouse
06:46it does feel like that is kind of cleared itself up and that Jerry's been a very positive influence
06:52for these young guys I think you're going to need him more than ever from a leadership perspective and
06:57again insurance at the wide receiver position uh late in the season I think you're gonna need him
07:02a hell of a lot more in the second half of the season than you even need him right now
07:05I know but
07:05the other part of this is that Jerry Judy is he is a gamble he is a season-long gamble
07:10in that right
07:10now everything's going great and we talked to Denzel Boston before the season got underway and he
07:14talked about how much he's helping him and how much that that connection is there but we did
07:18witness it last year with Jerry Judy we have seen it in stretch of him being in a Browns uniform
07:22when
07:22things go south they go south fast so that in and of itself is a gamble 216-474-0092 you
07:28heard from
07:28Jerry Judy today I thought it was a very human response I but players sometimes can say things we
07:34don't like but if they approach it from the human side of things which is I'm going to keep this
07:39between us but yeah I see that stuff I think that is something that I can appreciate from the Jerry
07:45Judy side of things Andrew Filippone was on with the modern boys earlier today and talked about
07:51the Steelers heading into the deadline and a move they could make they've got to add if they're winning
07:56like this the schedule has opened up for them they're favored to beat the Saints they're going
08:00to be favored against the Browns here the following week that would make them six and two at the buy
08:05if they take care of business maybe get a wide receiver Jerry Judy possibly at the trade deadline
08:10and away we go to a season that should end in double-digit wins for the Steelers now it should
08:14be noted that's some world-class trolling there from Andrew Filippone talking about this but uh that
08:21does call back to something Aditi said when joining Pony in Pittsburgh yeah the PM team that uh that that
08:28Andrew Barry would not have a problem dealing within the division including making a deal with the
08:33Steelers so it might be informed trolling by Pony what Aditi had used last week was the idea of Joe
08:39Flacco and so I I want to explore if there's differences here there's obvious on the on the
08:44surface differences Joe Flacco was a dinosaur in a million years old and Andrew Barry was went up to
08:49Joe Flacco and basically said do you want to be traded we want to keep you but if you want
08:53to be
08:54traded we'll trade you because you're you've been around the NFL for so long it's almost like a
08:58uh uh Jeter nephew tip of the hat respect thing that was going on there like does he does he
09:03owe
09:04Jerry Judy that same line of respect no I don't think you're trying to and that what that that
09:09sounded that might not have come out right uh Jerry Judy's owed a fair amount of respect for what he's
09:14done in the NFL and who he is I just think like respect meets value and that's different respect
09:20means value when you're not in the middle of a of a deadline where you're going to be going up
09:28against teams that you're battling for the division or battling for a playoff and agreed I mean so the
09:32other part of this though and this is I'd love to know if Andrew Barry's mind has changed throughout
09:36the season on this Aditi was making the claim though that Andrew Barry would feel comfortable
09:40if it came down to a trade with the Steelers interdivision because she doesn't believe or didn't
09:45believe at the time again this was a week ago though that Jerry Judy would be missed by Andrew
09:50Barry and the Browns yeah as if his value wasn't good enough and so like oh go ahead take take
09:54Jerry Judy I'm not really worried you're gonna you're gonna really make me rue the day I got
09:58rid of you I wonder if that's changed in a week and the problem with that logic is then what
10:03is the
10:03what are the Steelers giving up value wise to necessitate you trading him when you don't feel
10:09like he has value well that's yeah for sure you're not going to get anything you know that's really
10:14great but it's funny how in even just a week it feels like that conversation around Jerry Judy
10:18has changed even yourself and myself sitting here talking to people on the you know the radio if
10:23you if we did this convo a week ago or two weeks ago I don't think either one of us
10:27would say fifth
10:27or sixth round and he's gone but would the value be anywhere close to what we've been discussing or
10:32what we think Jerry Judy can do for this this ball club no that's a really big game he had
10:37on Sunday
10:37and I do expect the Browns to find ways to to try and build Jerry more opportunities so that you
10:44can
10:44try and keep that value up just in case somebody out there decides his value supersedes what your
10:49value is I just would draw the line with the divisional opponent this year like the Joe Flacco
10:54thing you were oh and four when that happened and he would bench Joe uh that's a little bit different
10:59that that was a season to nowhere if you were to trade Jerry Judy to the Steelers in the midst
11:04of a
11:05time where you're both good enough or at least a position to be in a playoff run I that would
11:10that
11:10would genuinely infuriate me well the Steelers need wide receivers like they're going to be
11:14shopping around for wide receivers and so I mean they're they're gonna they'd have a probably one
11:19of the better price points on Jerry Judy than anybody else and we know that Andrew Barry is
11:23such a value proposition GM I I don't know that he would shy away from it I really don't especially
11:28if he believes now it all matters as to what he whether or not he's changed his opinion on Jerry
11:32Judy if you think Jerry Judy is a cancer to the locker room like he was last year or maybe
11:36not the
11:36greatest teammate last year and he thinks that Jerry Judy the what we've seen in the first six
11:40weeks is a mirage and not real maybe he wouldn't be so against the idea of trading interdivisionally
11:45now while we are reacting to what people have to say from Yenzerland Bryant McFadden was on CBS Sports
11:52and talked about this Browns Titans game on Sunday this is a gotta have it game for Cleveland if you're
11:58a different ball club if the culture has changed there you win this ball game you win this ball game
12:03by any means necessary I can care less about weather I can care less about conditions this is a gotta
12:08have it game and one thing that I really agree with what I heard Aaron Rodgers post-game pressure
12:14he identified that last week that game against Tampa was a must win because of who they were
12:19playing against and who they had a quarterback now Cam Ward has more experience than a Jalen Daniels but
12:24he hasn't been playing good their offense hasn't been playing good so if you're Cleveland with or
12:28without Mason Grimm who I don't know if it's going to be in the lineup you go win this ball
12:32game give
12:33me the Browns point blank you get it you get it done so it's interesting I think I think there's
12:38a
12:38lot to what he's saying and it's so funny that we're talking about this with a one-win Titans team
12:43but yeah I think this is in I think the don't screw it up games are equally important in the
12:48NFL because
12:49especially to the Browns because you are on fraud alert from the rest of the NFL so beating the Titans
12:56might not prove that you're real but it staves off uh a some sort of significant culmination to
13:02the fraud conversation right well and they they fumbled in the what was considered the only other
13:07previous trap game we've had in the Jets and now with the argument that's going to start to develop
13:12if they lose this game it's not going to be uh anything other than well there's like seven
13:17different areas we could take it but the reality is is people wonder why they can't do it away from
13:20home yeah and like why why then do we struggle on the road now you have the win against Tampa
13:24on the
13:24road obviously but like the theme will be why do you score fewer points they're averaging 15 points
13:29a game on the road why do you let lesser than opponents beat you on the road like what's going
13:33on that you only can really get take care of the job at home with home cooking yeah and here's
13:38the
13:38other thing um you just got to keep the winning going like we are in you know with games against
13:44the Saints coming up with games uh after that you got the Raiders coming up afterwards we'll see what
13:49they look like a couple weeks from now like there there are some tougher games up there with the
13:53Steelers and the Texans and there are some easier games too so stack wins when you can right and
13:59that's how you go from a nice little story here fraud alert all this kind of stuff too I don't

14:05a rat's ass what anybody outside of Cleveland says because you're in the playoff hunt six weeks from
14:09now agreed but the fact that we're taking this game seriously is is part of the problem with this
14:13Browns team right now for a lot of people like this shouldn't be that tough of a game Cam Ward

14:18play the position right now like Carnell Tate had a really nice week but like Cam Ward is not good

14:23football their their defense up until this last week hadn't done much now this last week it looked
14:28really good they had three turnovers they were able to get the job done but I like this this is
14:33not the
14:33game you sweat over but we have to take it serious the Browns have taught us through their lack of
14:37offensive prowess that we have to take it serious so yesterday we get into the conversation about
14:41where's the buzz for this Browns team at four and two and the myriad of reasons why there might not
14:45be
14:46I heard the morning show also I followed up on that conversation this morning and what's interesting
14:52is I'm I'm going to be screaming into the wind about this Titans game because I cannot convince
14:59Browns fans of the importance of this game I can't right you either you either are excited about where
15:05the Browns are right now and just open-minded to where this can go or you're gonna look at this
15:10and
15:10go well hey if you lose this game I'm gonna be furious at you and say I told you so
15:15and there's
15:15really nothing to gain when to win right that being said like I think it's an important game for Deshaun
15:20Watson because I think you I think Deshaun should have a much better game this remember Titans are one of
15:26the the best games he's had in a Browns uniform a couple years back uh he he also terrorized them
15:32when
15:32he was uh with the Houston Texans way back in the day as well and so you add that to
15:37the fact of well
15:38yeah you move to five and two and all of a sudden I I do think at five and two
15:42the playoff conversation
15:43has to move to the forefront here because five and two it it is a long fall to falling out
15:50of the
15:50playoff spot from there I mean it's all about moving to five and two yeah that's what it's all about
15:54but your your read on it is correct I don't think even if they get the job done on Sunday
15:59people are
15:59going to be waxing poetic about what a great victory that was if you take care of Tennessee it's just
16:03it's
16:04just not that good of a team they're allowing 44 percent of scoring drives to end in points
16:09that's insane that's an insanely high number like if if Deshaun Deshaun has another 150 yard performance
16:16and you're just kind of meandering offensively throughout this game yeah the canary in the
16:21coal mine is there now I do think if Deshaun has a big game meaning like a 250 yard game
16:26couple
16:27touchdowns even if there's a turnover in there and you win comfortably I do think it's going to be
16:33interesting I think it's not going to get the national respect I think that's I don't know
16:36that there's a lot of uh schedule or games on the schedule to earn the national respect in the next
16:42uh six weeks for the Browns from the national crowd but do I think a commanding win and a really
16:49nice Deshaun performance a really nice offensive day at the park do I think that could excite some
16:54Browns fans yes because at some point if it's fun to watch offense people do get excited we haven't
16:59seen it we haven't seen a commanding win you know like I mean every one of our wins is by
17:04what fewer
17:04than four points they they haven't done that what you just described right there they haven't done
17:08but even a close win that's why it'd be nice to see a close win with a 27 point performance
17:12from
17:12the offense I think might stir uh it might get the blood pumping for some Browns fans uh does a
17:18win
17:19make the Browns legit uh Brian McFadden saying this is a gotta have it game for Cleveland it is an
17:25oddly
17:26important matchup for the Browns when they're four and two and the Titans have one stinking win
