00:17When a wicked person turns from the wickedness he has committed, and does what is just and right, he will
00:26preserve his life.
00:30For I am aware of my rebellious acts, I am forever conscious of my sin.
00:39Hide your face from my sins, wipe away all my guilt.
00:47The sacrifices God desires are a humble spirit, O God, a humble and repentant heart you will not reject.
01:01Dearly beloved brothers and sisters, the scripture moves us in sundry places to acknowledge and confess our many sins and
01:10wickedness.
01:12We should not justify nor hide them before the face of Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, but confess them with
01:20a humble, lowly, penitent and obedient heart.
01:24To the end that we may obtain forgiveness of the same, by his infinite goodness and mercy.
01:35Although we ought always to humbly acknowledge our sins before God, we should do this particularly when we assemble and
01:43meet together,
01:44to give thanks for the great benefits we have received at his hands.
01:48To give him most worthy praise, to hear his most holy word, and to ask those things which are truly
01:57necessary as well for the body as the soul.
02:02Therefore I pray and ask you, who are present here today, to accompany me with a pure heart and humble
02:09voice to the throne of the heavenly grace, as we say together.
02:16Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
02:23We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts.
02:29We have offended against your holy laws.
02:32We have failed to do those things which we ought to have done, and we have done things which we
02:39ought not to have done.
02:44But you, O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable sinners.
02:49Spare those, O God, who confess their faults.
02:53Restore those who are truly penitent, according to your promises declared to mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord.
03:03Grant, O most merciful Father, for his sake, that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life, to
03:12the glory of your holy name.
03:14Amen.
03:18Grant, we beseech you, merciful Lord, to your faithful people, pardon and peace,
03:24that they may be cleansed from all their sins, and serve you with a quiet mind, through Jesus Christ our
03:32Lord.
03:33Amen.
03:38Our Father, who is in heaven, hallowed be your name.
03:43Your kingdom come, your will be done, in earth as it is in heaven.
03:49Give us this day our daily bread.
03:52Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
03:59Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
04:05For yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, forever and ever.
04:10Amen.
04:15O Lord, open our lips, and our mouths shall sing out your praise.
04:23O God, make speed to save us.
04:27O Lord, make haste to help us.
04:33Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
04:39as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
04:43world without end.
04:45Amen.
04:48Praise the Lord.
04:50The Lord's name be praised.
04:56Psalm 6
04:59O Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger.
05:03Do not discipline me in your raging fury.
05:07Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am frail.
05:10Heal me, Lord, for my bones are shaking.
05:15I am absolutely terrified.
05:17And you, Lord, how long will this continue?
05:22Relent, O Lord, rescue me, deliver me, because of your faithfulness.
05:27For no one remembers you in the realm of death.
05:31In shale, who gives you thanks?
06:01I am exhausted as I groan.
06:03God has accepted my prayer.
06:06They will be humiliated and absolutely terrified.
06:10All my enemies will turn back and be suddenly humiliated.
06:16Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
06:20as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
06:25world without end.
06:27Amen.
06:31Psalm 7
06:34O Lord, my God, in you I have taken shelter.
06:39Deliver me from all who chase me.
06:42Rescue me.
06:43Otherwise, they will rip me to shreds like a lion.
06:46They will tear me to bits, and no one will be able to rescue me.
06:51O Lord, my God, if I have done what they say,
06:55or I am guilty of unjust actions,
06:58or have wronged my ally or helped his lawless enemy,
07:02may an enemy relentlessly chase me and catch me.
07:06May he trample me to death and leave me lying dishonoured in the dust.
07:12Stand up angrily, Lord.
07:15Rise up with raging fury against my enemies.
07:21Wake up for my sake and execute the judgment you have decreed for them.
07:27The countries are assembled all around you.
07:31Take once more your rightful place over them.
07:36The Lord judges the nations.
07:39Vindicate me, Lord, because I am innocent,
07:42because I am blameless, O exalted one.
07:46May the evil deeds of the wicked come to an end,
07:50but make the innocent secure, O righteous God,
07:55you who examine inner thoughts and motives.
07:59The exalted God is my shield,
08:02the one who delivers the morally upright.
08:05God is a just judge.
08:08He is angry throughout the day.
08:11If a person does not repent,
08:14God will wield his sword.
08:16He has prepared to shoot his bow.
08:19He has prepared deadly weapons to use against him.
08:23He gets ready to shoot flaming arrows.
08:28See the one who is pregnant with wickedness,
08:31who conceives destructive plans
08:33and gives birth to harmful lies.
08:35He digs a pit and then falls into the hole he has made.
08:40He has become the victim of his own destructive plans,
08:45and the violence he intended for others
08:48falls on his own head.
08:52I will thank the Lord for his justice.
08:54I will sing praises to the Lord Most High.
08:59Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit,
09:03as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
09:07world without end.
09:09Amen.
09:11Psalm 8
09:13O Lord, our Lord,
09:16how magnificent is your reputation throughout the earth!
09:20You reveal your majesty in the heavens above.
09:25From the mouths of children and nursing babies
09:28you have ordained praise on account of your adversaries,
09:32so that you might put an end to the vindictive enemy.
09:37When I look up at the heavens which your fingers made,
09:40and see the moon and the stars which you set in place,
09:44of what importance is the human race
09:47that you should notice them?
09:49Of what importance is mankind
09:51that you should pay attention to them?
09:55You made them a little less than the heavenly beings.
09:58You crowned mankind with honour and majesty.
10:01You appoint them to rule over your creation.
10:05You have placed everything under their authority,
10:08including all the sheep and cattle,
10:11as well as the wild animals,
10:13the birds in the sky,
10:15the fish in the sea,
10:16and everything that moves through the currents of the sea.
10:20O Lord, our Lord,
10:22how magnificent is your reputation throughout the earth!
10:27Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
10:29and to the Holy Spirit,
10:30as it was in the beginning,
10:33is now, and ever shall be,
10:35world without end.
10:37Amen.
10:43The Book of Wisdom, Chapter 5
10:48Then the righteous man will stand in great boldness
10:51before the face of those who afflict him,
10:54and those who make his labours of no account.
10:58When they see him,
10:59they will be troubled with great fear,
11:01and will be amazed at the marvel of salvation.
11:05They will speak among themselves, repenting,
11:08and for distress of spirit they will groan.
11:12This was he whom we used to hold in derision,
11:15as a parable of reproach.
11:18We fools considered his life madness,
11:21and his end without honour.
11:23How was he counted among the sons of God?
11:26How is his lot amongst the saints?
11:30Truly we went astray from the truth.
11:33The light of righteousness did not shine for us.
11:36The sun did not rise for us.
11:39We took our fill of the paths of lawlessness and destruction.
11:43We travelled through trackless deserts,
11:46but we did not know the Lord's way.
11:49And what did our arrogance profit us?
11:52What good have riches and boasting brought us?
11:56Those things all passed away as a shadow,
11:59like a message that runs by,
12:01like a ship passing through billowy water,
12:05which, when it has gone by,
12:07there is no trace to be fed,
12:08no pathway of its keel in the billows.
12:13Or it is like when a bird flies through the air.
12:16No evidence of its passage is found.
12:19But with a light wind lashed with the stroke of its pinions,
12:23and torn apart by the violent rush of its moving wings,
12:27it passes through.
12:30Afterwards no sign of its coming or its going remain.
12:35Or it is like an arrow when it is shot at a mark.
12:38The air parted up closes again immediately.
12:43So that men don't know where it passed.
12:46So we also, as soon as we were born, ceased to be.
12:51We had no sign of virtue to show,
12:53but we were utterly consumed in our wickedness.
12:58Because the hope of the ungodly man is like chaff carried by the wind,
13:02and has foam vanishing before a tempest,
13:05and is scattered like smoke by the wind,
13:08passing by is the remembrance of a guest that waits but a day.
13:13But the righteous live for ever.
13:15Their reward is in the Lord,
13:17and the care for them with the Most High.
13:21Therefore they will receive the crown of royal dignity,
13:24and the diadem of beauty from the Lord's hand.
13:28Because he will cover them with his right hand,
13:31and he will shield them with his arm.
13:34He will take his jealousy as complete armour,
13:37and will make the whole creation his weapons to punish his enemies.
13:42This is the word of the Lord.
13:45Thanks be to God.
13:56Mary said,
13:58My soul exalts the Lord,
14:01and my spirit has begun to rejoice in God my Saviour,
14:05because he has looked upon the humble state of his servant.
14:11For from now on all generations will call me blessed,
14:14because he who is mighty has done great things for me,
14:19and holy is his name.
14:22From generation to generation he is merciful to those who fear him.
14:28He has demonstrated power with his arm.
14:32He has scattered those whose pride wells up from the sheer arrogance of their hearts.
14:38He has brought down the mighty from their thrones,
14:41and has lifted up those of lowly position.
14:44He has filled the hungry with good things,
14:47and has sent the rich away empty.
14:51He has helped his servant Israel,
14:54remembering his mercy,
14:55as he promised to our ancestors,
14:58to Abraham,
15:00and to his descendants for ever.
15:04Glory be to the Father,
15:05and to the Son,
15:06and to the Holy Spirit,
15:08as it was in the beginning,
15:10is now,
15:11and ever shall be,
15:13world without end.
15:15Amen.
15:23The Revelation of St. John
15:25Chapter 19
15:29After these things,
15:30there came to my ears a sound like the voice of a great band of people in heaven,
15:36saying,
15:37Praise to the Lord,
15:38salvation and glory and power be to our God.
15:43For true and upright are his decisions.
15:46By him has the evil woman been judged,
15:49who made the earth unclean with the sins of her body,
15:52and he has given her punishment for the blood of his servants.
15:58Again they said,
15:59Praise to the Lord.
16:01And her smoke went up for ever and ever,
16:04and the four and twenty rulers and the four beasts went down on their faces,
16:09and gave worship to God,
16:11who was seated on the high seat,
16:13saying,
16:15Even so,
16:16praise to the Lord.
16:19A voice came from the high seat,
16:22saying,
16:23Give praise to our God,
16:24all you servants,
16:25great and small,
16:26in whom is the fear of him.
16:29And there came to my ears the voice of a great army,
16:32like the sound of waters,
16:34the sound of loud thunders,
16:36saying,
16:37Praise to the Lord,
16:39for the Lord our God,
16:40ruler of all,
16:42is king.
16:43Let us be glad with delight,
16:45let us give glory to him,
16:47because the time is come for the Lamb to be married,
16:51and his wife has made herself ready,
16:54and to her it was given to be clothed in delicate linen,
16:58clean and shining,
16:59for the clean linen is the righteousness of the saints.
17:05He said to me,
17:06Put in the book,
17:08Happy are the guests,
17:09at the bright feast of the Lamb.
17:12And he said to me,
17:13These are the true words of God.
17:17I went on my face before his feet to give him worship.
17:21And he said to me,
17:22See, you do not do it.
17:25I am a brother's servant with you,
17:27and with your brothers who keep the witness of Jesus.
17:30Give worship to God,
17:32for the witness of Jesus is the spirit of the prophet's word.
17:35And the heaven was open.
17:37I saw a white horse,
17:39and he who was seated on it
17:41was named certain and true,
17:43and he is judging and making war in righteousness.
17:48His eyes are a flame of fire,
17:50his crowns are on his head,
17:53and he has a name in writing,
17:54of which no man has knowledge but himself.
17:57And he is clothed in a robe washed with blood.
18:02And his name is the word of God.
18:07The armies which are in heaven
18:09went after him on white horses,
18:11clothed in delicate linen,
18:13white and clean.
18:16Out of his mouth came a sharp sword,
18:20with which he overcomes the nations.
18:22And he has rule over them with a rod of iron.
18:25He is crushing with his feet
18:27the grapes of the strong wrath of God,
18:30the ruler of all.
18:32On his robe and on his leg is a name,
18:36King of kings, Lord of lords.
18:38And I saw an angel taking his place in the sun.
18:43He was crying with a loud voice,
18:46saying to all the birds in flight in the heavens,
18:49Come together to the great feast of God.
18:53This is the word of the Lord.
18:56Thanks be to God.
19:07Now according to your word, Sovereign Lord,
19:11permit your servant to depart in peace.
19:14For my eyes have seen your salvation
19:17that you have prepared in the presence of all peoples.
19:21A light for revelation to the Gentiles
19:25and for glory to your people Israel.
19:30Glory be to the Father and to the Son
19:33and to the Holy Spirit,
19:34as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be,
19:38world without end.
19:40Amen.
19:46I believe in God the Father Almighty,
19:49maker of heaven and earth,
19:51and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
19:55who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
19:58born of the Virgin Mary,
20:00suffered unto Pontius Pilate,
20:03was crucified, dead, and buried.
20:06He descended into hell.
20:09On the third day he rose again from the dead.
20:13He ascended into heaven
20:15and is sitting at the right hand of God the Father Almighty.
20:20From there he shall come to judge the living and the dead.
20:24I believe in the Holy Spirit,
20:27the Holy Catholic Church,
20:29the communion of saints,
20:30the forgiveness of sins,
20:33the resurrection of the body,
20:35and the life everlasting.
20:37Amen.
20:43The Lord be with you
20:45and with your spirit.
20:50Let us pray.
20:53Lord have mercy upon us.
20:57Christ have mercy upon us.
21:01Lord have mercy upon us.
21:08Our Father who is in heaven.
21:11Holy is your name.
21:14May your kingdom come.
21:16May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
21:21Give us this day our daily bread.
21:24Forgive us our trespasses,
21:26as we forgive those who trespass against us.
21:30Lead us not into temptation,
21:33but deliver us from evil.
21:35For yours is the kingdom,
21:38the power and the glory,
21:40for ever and ever.
21:43Amen.
21:48O Lord, show your mercy upon us
21:50and grant us your salvation.
21:56Protect and guide those in authority over us
22:01and mercifully hear us
22:03when we call upon you.
22:07Endue your ministers with righteousness
22:09and make your chosen people joyful.
22:15O Lord, save your people
22:18and bless your inheritance.
22:24Give peace in our time,
22:26O Lord,
22:28because there is none other
22:29who fights for us
22:30but only you,
22:32O God.
22:34O God, make clean our hearts within us
22:39and take not your Holy Spirit from us.
22:50Almighty God,
22:51who has knit together your elect
22:53in one communion and fellowship,
22:55in the mystical body of your Son,
22:58Jesus Christ,
22:58our Lord,
23:00grant us grace
23:01so to follow your blessed saints
23:03in all virtues and godly living,
23:06that we may come to those unspeakable joys
23:10which you have prepared for them
23:12that truly and unreservedly love you.
23:16Through Jesus Christ, our Lord.
23:19Amen.
23:27O God,
23:29from whom all holy desires,
23:32all good counsels
23:33and all just works proceed,
23:36give to your servants that peace
23:38which the world cannot give,
23:40that our hearts may be set
23:43to obey your commandments,
23:45and also that, by you,
23:47we, being defended
23:49from the fear of our enemies,
23:51may pass our time
23:53in rest and quietness.
23:55Through the merits
23:56of Jesus Christ, our Saviour.
23:59Amen.
24:04Lighten our darkness,
24:05as we beseech you, O Lord,
24:08and by your great mercy
24:09defend us all
24:10from perils and dangers
24:13of this night.
24:14For the love of your only Son,
24:16our Saviour,
24:17Jesus Christ.
24:19Amen.
24:23Almighty God,
24:24who has given us grace
24:26at this time with one accord
24:28to make our common supplications
24:30to you,
24:32and promises that when two or three
24:34are gathered together
24:35in your name,
24:36you will grant their requests.
24:40Fulfill now, O Lord,
24:42the desires and petitions
24:43of your servants,
24:45as may be most beneficial
24:47for them,
24:49granting us in this world
24:51knowledge of your truth,
24:53and in the world to come
24:55life everlasting.
24:57Amen.
25:00With the grace of our Lord
25:02Jesus Christ
25:03and the love of God
25:04and the fellowship
25:05of the Holy Spirit
25:06be with us all
25:09evermore.
25:10Amen.
