The Bharatiya Janata Party is launching a month-long nationwide pad yatra campaign from 1st of November to 30th of November to defend the SIR voter list exercise. The initiative aims to counter the INDIA bloc's allegations of vote chori as the opposition prepares for a rally at Ramlila Maidan. Key leaders including Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, JP Nadda, Yogi Adityanath, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Devendra Fadnavis will lead foot marches across various cities. The outreach aims to engage voters directly and explain that the SIR exercise is a cleanup drive to ensure only eligible citizens vote.

00:07The Bhartia Janata Party is organizing padhyatras already across the country.
00:11The BJP has found a strategy.
00:13It may be election season for a state or two ladies and gentlemen.
00:17But when you mention Prime Minister's father, expect the BJP to jump on it and how.
00:23The party will deploy top and most influential leaders for the event.
00:27Union Minister, BJP Chief Ministers have been assigned to participate in the padhyatras across the country.
00:331st of November, when India Bloc is organizing rally at Ramlila Maidan,
00:41the BJP is also saying, we will also defend the SIR.
00:45If the opposition or the Congress party is so strong on what they think is wrong with the SIR exercise,
00:53they want the CEC to be removed.
00:55The BJP is saying, we will do an awareness campaign.
00:59Yogi Adityanath will lead a padhyatra in Lucknow.
01:01Himanta Biswasarma in Simla.
01:03Rajanath Singh, JP Nadda, Devendra Padnavez expect all these top leaders to be leading padhyatras.
01:09The focus is, ladies and gentlemen, to defend themselves against the allegation of vote-choring.
01:14I want to immediately bring in Aishwarya Paliwal, she has all the details.
01:17Aishwarya, what is the reason of these padhyatras?
01:20And this doesn't sound like a rally.
01:23So this means they may go possibly door to door as well, reach out to people.
01:27But for what?
01:29Well, you know what, Pooja, what the BJP at the moment is looking at is to make sure
01:33that there is a full-blown counter-narrative attack that they come out with.
01:37And that's the reason why these padhyatras are being done.
01:39CBS has seen how the BJP, in fact, you know, over the past many years has been a big fan
01:43of organizing padhyatras which basically are footmarches because they believe this is
01:47the best way to connect with the people of the country.
01:50You know, the top union ministers, BJP chief ministers, all of them, in fact, have been
01:54assigned different paths across the country.
01:57These padhyatras will continue for a full month, for full 30 days from 1st of November
02:02till the 30th of November.
02:04Yogi Aditranath, in fact, will be leading a padhyatra in Lucknow.
02:06Hemant Vishwisharma will be leading one in Shimla.
02:09Rajnath Singh, JP Natta, Devinder Fadnavish, they will all be leading padhyatras across various
02:13cities of the country.
02:15Home Minister Amin Shah, he will be participating in one padhyatra in Hyderabad.
02:19This, on the 2nd of November, and one in Karnal, in Haryana, this will take place on
02:24the 5th of November.
02:25Additionally, the Sikh community across the state of Punjab, affiliated with the BJP, will
02:29also be holding events on the 1st of November against the Congress party.
02:33So, this is a coordinated effort, something which was in the making over the past few days.
02:38This is BJP's counter-attack to the way the opposition has been pointing fingers at
02:43the BJP and saying that SIR is nothing but just an exercise.
02:46So, Ishwara, should we say that, is this an awareness campaign by the government?
02:51Is this a campaign on the defense where they want to tell people that SIR is a good exercise?
02:56Because opposition is all guns blazing.
02:59They also are doing a rally right on that same day, on November 1st.
03:04Well, Pooja, you know, from what I understand at the moment, BJP will not be playing defensive.
03:11This is BJP playing offensive and this is aggressive reach-out to the people, the top leadership
03:16of the BJP, out on the streets, out on the ground, beating people and trying to dispel
03:21the notion that SIR is not something to which you will not be allowed to vote.
03:26This is just a clean-up exercise to make sure only eligible voters have the rights to vote
03:31when the country goes for election.
03:32So, this will be the BJP out on the offensive, the top leaders on the ground, just like we
03:37have seen the opposition leaders over the past few days out on the streets.
03:41All right, I can already see the headlines, ladies and gentlemen.
03:45It's going to be 1st of November, the India Block opposition rally at Ramlila Maidan,
03:501st of November, same day, the BJP is also sending out its top and best chief ministers,
03:57leaders for the Padhyatras across the country.
