00:00Jesse Minter is now hearing some pretty loud criticisms
00:04from people inside Baltimore, outside of Baltimore.
00:07They're 4-3.
00:08Their defense has given up the most points of any team inside the division,
00:12and we're hearing some comparisons to the Patriots
00:16where you don't want to be the man who replaces the man,
00:20meaning Harbaugh Belichick,
00:22and the one-year guy who comes in only lasts one year,
00:26and he gets blown out.
00:27What do you think of the future of Jesse Minter in the head coaching department
00:34in terms of the future for him in Baltimore?
00:37I think it comes down to one important or actually two important factors.
00:43Does the team continue to fight on a down-in-and-down basis,
00:47and does he still have the locker room when we're at week 13, week 15?
00:53If those two things are in question,
00:56then as an owner, you have to look at this and say,
00:58okay, were we wrong?
01:01Is this hotshot young coach really ahead of his time?
01:05Like, maybe he shouldn't be a head coach right now.
01:08He's awesome as – because the other thing apart of –
01:12we've been around talking about football for long enough
01:15where we've seen enough guys come out of the woodwork and say,
01:20okay, Brian Flores, Josh McDaniels, Steve Spagnuolo,
01:24you're just better as coordinators, and that's fine.
01:29Maybe you're not a leader of men.
01:31Maybe you're not a true head coach to be one of 32, and that's okay.
01:37Like, that's not a detriment.
01:38You could be an awesome freaking coordinator,
01:41and maybe head coach just ain't your bag, baby.
01:43That's fine.
01:44Again, there's a lot of people that are walking the earth right now, Peralt,
01:48and you know as well as I do,
01:49that are really, really good assistant managers,
01:52that are really, really good middle management and stuff,
01:55but they're not made out to be COOs, CEOs, the GM,
02:00the head honcho, the main voice in the room, the decision maker,
02:05and that's okay.
02:07So I think the things that we're not privy to behind the surface –
02:11like, under the surface, behind the scenes –
02:14those are the bigger parts or pieces that I think define Jesse Minner's tenure
02:18and whether he's a one-and-done coach.
02:21I highly doubt he probably is.
02:22He probably gets a second year just based off of all the stuff
02:25and Eric Acosta, like, you know, chaining his wagon to this young guy
02:29and saying, can you get it right?
02:30Can you grow into the role even if you stumbled out the blocks?
02:34So I think he at least gets year one, year two.
02:37But those are the important things.
02:39Like, because it's like, dude, if you're like Gerard Mayo
02:41and you just – you'd have no clue what you're doing
02:44or you're just – you're not that type of guy,
02:46you're not wired that way, and that's okay because not everybody is,
02:50then yes, that's the part where you say, okay, look, we made a mistake.
02:54You don't know who you hired and you don't know who –
02:56this all comes down to hiring 101, doesn't it, Peralt?
02:58You don't know anybody until you get them in the building,
03:01and then we're like a month or six months into a tenure,
03:04whether it's at a job or what have you,
03:06and then you find out who you're really working with
03:08outside of the job interview.
03:10So I get it.
