00:00:42Stewart hasn't dealt with it and a very touch of egg.
00:00:47And Rangers surely have secured the points now.
00:00:51A strike Zidane would be proud of.
00:00:55And Aberdeen hit back quickly.
00:00:57Zach Shapsford put United back in front.
00:01:02And it's 2-0 St Mirren.
00:01:05This is sparking a Dundee comeback.
00:01:08But the windwork comes to St Mirren's rescue.
00:01:14The home fans can celebrate.
00:01:16Horrible afternoon for Kilmarnock.
00:01:20Daughter meets Tottenham at East of Rhodes.
00:01:23What a start for Hedernian.
00:01:26Critical from Camilo Duran.
00:01:29It's another home defeat for Aberdeen.
00:01:34And it's their star man Claudio Braga.
00:01:38The rarest of away victories.
00:01:43Good evening.
00:01:44It's not often we get all 12 teams playing at the same time in the Premiership.
00:01:49But that's exactly what happened tonight.
00:01:51The best of the action is on the way.
00:01:52Analyzed by Scott Allen.
00:01:54And we begin at Tyne Castle as Derek McInnes returns for the first time as Rangers manager.
00:02:01Plenty of subplots to this one.
00:02:04But the main storyline is that both these sides need a victory if they're serious about being part of a
00:02:10title fight this year.
00:02:11It's a mouth-watering encounter on one of Scottish football's most atmospheric stages.
00:02:19And they knew what awaited him here despite taking Harts so close to the title last season.
00:02:27Harts are still coping with a lengthy injury list, but Laurel Mondi is deemed fit enough to start.
00:02:33And after a goal-scoring cameo on Sunday, Calvin Miller is also restored.
00:02:39Kingsley and Wilson take their places on the bench.
00:02:43Derek McInnes might have been tempted to go with the same XI that started the route of St Johnston,
00:02:49but instead opts to bring Giri Gisama back in with Buonani the player to make way.
00:03:03Calvin Miller prepares to curl in the corner, dealt with by Kelsey.
00:03:09Comes out to Caryota, he'll curl it back in and all the way through.
00:03:14Neither Braga nor Fagan Walcott could reach it.
00:03:24Well, no playing return for Cammie Devlin and Laurence Shatlin just yet.
00:03:37Fernandes up towards Nadiri, they bring it under control, it's a good touch.
00:03:41Not sure the back heel was the best option though.
00:03:46Here's Kelsey.
00:03:50Can't find a teammate.
00:03:52Sluice though, it's Kevin Kelsey for Nadiri, back to Kelsey, chance here for Rangers!
00:03:57There's the opener!
00:04:00Kevin Kelsey once again!
00:04:03A double at the weekend against St Johnston!
00:04:06And he's off the mark once more!
00:04:12Well, this was loose in the midfield from Mondi,
00:04:17and Nadiri again providing the ammunition for his strike partner.
00:04:22And Kelsey coolly rolls it beyond Bo Rouse.
00:04:28And Rangers have the advantage just after the quarter hour.
00:04:45Sterling though has lost it to Braga.
00:04:48McPeak takes it on.
00:04:50Away from Fernandes, down he goes!
00:04:53Free kick right on the edge of the box.
00:04:55And a yellow card for Manny Fernandes.
00:05:00Now Sterling got himself into trouble there.
00:05:03And Fernandes ultimately having to pay for it.
00:05:09This time in the challenge.
00:05:16Who will prevail here?
00:05:23It's Altena who goes for it,
00:05:24Mandir gets plenty behind it though.
00:05:33And out to McPeak.
00:05:36Magnussen continued his run, Dan Neal takes him down.
00:05:40Will do well to avoid a yellow card.
00:05:43Dan Neal, yet again, Rangers conceding free kicks in.
00:05:47Their own defensive third.
00:05:51They're just trying to make sure the line is rigid.
00:05:55As Altena leaves it to Miller to send it in.
00:05:59Back across goal, must be, there's the equaliser.
00:06:01Claudio Braga has Hearts level right at the start of the second half.
00:06:08Claudio Braga, as he did on the weekend at Firth Park,
00:06:12gets on the score sheet.
00:06:14Back across goal by Fagan Walcott,
00:06:18and bundled in by Claudio Braga.
00:06:22And Hearts will feel that is a deserved equaliser at last.
00:06:34Minsu.
00:06:36Just overdoing it and losing it.
00:06:40And now Braga.
00:06:42Still he's going, Claudio Braga, scurfs the shot,
00:06:45he's going to come for Calvin Miller!
00:06:47And Hearts have turned the round!
00:06:54Minsu.
00:06:56Losing out.
00:06:58And Hearts punishing him to full effect.
00:07:02Braga's shot wasn't particularly well hit but it fell kindly for Miller.
00:07:09And Hearts punishing him to full effect.
00:07:11He's going for the castle.
00:07:13Within 12 second half minutes.
00:07:18They have got themselves in front.
00:07:24Forward for Kelsey.
00:07:26He's going to come to Buenani.
00:07:27What can he make of this?
00:07:29He goes for a goal, it's a good stop from Rouse.
00:07:31Byrnes.
00:07:33Romans...
00:07:35..swings it back in.
00:07:38Buenani's here again.
00:07:54That's lovely from McPeak, that's lovely from Braga, now he goes for a goal.
00:08:04And he's disappointed in himself, having done superbly against Fernandes to wriggle away.
00:08:20Buenani finds Dan Neal, he's going to go for a goal, straight at the keeper and he just manages to
00:08:26gather that before Kelsey pounces again.
00:08:29Well, we know what Dan Neal can do from distance.
00:08:42Makanya, a little flick from Raskan, Kelsey gets out to Buenani, a chance here for Rangers looking for an equaliser,
00:08:50Kingsley though stands firm.
00:08:55And here come Hearts, looking for a third goal, they've got four on two here if they move it quickly
00:09:02enough.
00:09:03And it's wide of target from J.J. Williams, that would have done it.
00:09:10This could have finished Rangers once and for all, Williams taking it on first time.
00:09:23Rangers getting a free kick there, and as Curtis got there just before him there is a slight knock on
00:09:31the foot there, as Buenani stands over this free kick.
00:09:35The delivery needs to be good.
00:09:39In comes the header, and it's in!
00:09:41Rangers level late on!
00:09:44It's Makanya with the first Rangers goal!
00:09:48It's a brilliant header, good delivery from Buenani.
00:09:52Makanya's still got plenty to do, but Borows can do nothing to keep it out the back of the net.
00:10:00And with just a minute left to play, it's two apiece.
00:10:11Fernandes clips it up towards Buenani, Kingsley does well, Sterling steps in, Raskan.
00:10:19Here it comes to Curtis.
00:10:25Finley Curtis stands it up.
00:10:27Oh, that should have been a goal!
00:10:30That should have been a winning goal from Dujon Sterling in the final seconds.
00:10:39It's more or less the last act of the game.
00:10:43It finishes 2-0.
00:10:49And Dujon Sterling left to Roux.
00:10:55This miss, a golden opportunity.
00:11:01Just needed tapped into the back of the net.
00:11:05It's no easy coming here.
00:11:06I've got a really young team.
00:11:07The top end of my side there, very young.
00:11:11And sometimes they need to come through these types of games, these types of atmospheres
00:11:14and all the rest of it.
00:11:15But you have to say, we didn't play to a level tonight.
00:11:20But the spirit of the team, the resilience of the team to keep going.
00:11:23I thought we were a team that looked as if we had an equaliser in us.
00:11:26And even after that, as I said, we could have went on and won it.
00:11:29Which would have been unfair in the hearts, but we would have took it, of course.
00:11:31And I love that about the team, that they never feel as if they're beat,
00:11:36let goals or assign a good team.
00:11:39But the part before half-time and the part after half-time has to be better for us.
00:11:45Because then we could maybe just make those three points tonight.
00:11:49Yeah, actually you lost two points.
00:11:50I think we deserved the win today.
00:11:53We played a really good first half.
00:11:55We made a little mistake and cost you a lot at that moment.
00:12:00But afterwards he made up with the performance.
00:12:05Then we came back out really good.
00:12:07And then you have to take the three points there.
00:12:10But okay, for me it was never fault.
00:12:13I don't know why we broke the whistle.
00:12:15Because for me I don't think it's fault.
00:12:17But again, it's a shame because they deserved it today.
00:12:21And they didn't, they rewarded themselves, but not enough.
00:12:25So Rangers leave it late to rescue a point at Tyne Castle after a largely lackluster performance.
00:12:30Scotty, Kevin Kelsey and Naderi combining just like they did at the weekend for the first goal.
00:12:36It was a good goal, good combination play between the two strikers.
00:12:39Yeah, and you can see they're certainly striking up a really good partnership over the last month or so.
00:12:44It actually comes to a really slack bit of play from Hearts that ball into the middle of the field.
00:12:48Mendy really careless with a touch, but Rangers go and punish them.
00:12:51Lovely one too.
00:12:52Naderi presents a mind to find his fellow striker.
00:12:55And Kelsey makes no mistake, tucks it through the legs.
00:12:57It was a good start to the game for Rangers.
00:12:59It was just after that, you're wondering.
00:13:01The performance just wasn't there for Rangers and they really struggled at the time.
00:13:04But the two of them together is a real bright spot for them.
00:13:07Yeah, it is.
00:13:08I mean, when you're strikers, I mentioned it on Saturday, when you're strikers are scoring goals,
00:13:11it makes your job as a manager a lot easier.
00:13:14You know, obviously, Lauren Shankland was at the game tonight.
00:13:16He'll be back, I think, training in December.
00:13:19Does he come back when he's fit in to the side in front of one of those two?
00:13:24Well, I think you have to work your way back into the team,
00:13:26especially if strikers are scoring goals.
00:13:28You know that yourself, Tom, if you're scoring week in, week out,
00:13:31and seeing a partnership forming.
00:13:32If it's best for the team, then you have to stick with that.
00:13:34It'll be up for Lauren Shankland to come back fully fit and ready to go again.
00:13:37Braggart and Calvin Miller, then they had Hearts ahead.
00:13:40Deservedly, it has to be said.
00:13:43Poor defending from Rangers probably for both goals,
00:13:46but Hearts had real ascendancy in the game at this point.
00:13:49Yeah, I thought the reaction to going a goal down,
00:13:50Hearts were outstanding, especially in that first half.
00:13:53The players had touched on there.
00:13:54Calvin Miller, Josh McPake.
00:13:57That's the delivery from Calvin Miller.
00:13:59Just puts into an area.
00:14:00But Fernandes, again, caught sleeping at the back post.
00:14:02Fagan Walcott does really well to keep the ball alive,
00:14:04puts in an area.
00:14:05And Claudio Braga, always on the move,
00:14:07seen at the weekend against Motherwell.
00:14:08Gets goal side and tucks it away.
00:14:11They are a dangerous team from set plays, though, Hearts.
00:14:15And then the second one, again, a mistake this time.
00:14:18It's Minsu in the middle of the pitch, giving the ball away,
00:14:21and Hearts punished him.
00:14:23That's the last thing you need at Tyne Castle under that sort of atmosphere.
00:14:26Minsu just gets caught on it.
00:14:28Magnussen jumps on him.
00:14:29All credit to him.
00:14:30And off he goes.
00:14:31Bragge again in that pocket.
00:14:33I just love the drive about him.
00:14:34Listen, it's fortuitous how it ends up at Calvin Miller,
00:14:37but it's not an accident how Calvin Miller, again,
00:14:39is in at the back post and tucks away to put Hearts in front.
00:14:42And, you know, his goal contributions and assist contributions,
00:14:45Calvin Miller, this season for Hearts, have been brilliant.
00:14:48Just like for Falkirk last season, but on the score sheet,
00:14:51and he's always a threat.
00:14:52Yeah, I think he's actually grown as a player.
00:14:54I think under a bit of a ranking, yes,
00:14:56John McGlynn has been outstanding for him,
00:14:58but you've seen him in different positions.
00:14:59At times he's in that ten tonight,
00:15:01and there's different parts of his game being asked of him.
00:15:03But what I would say, it always affects it.
00:15:05You put him in an area, put a cross in,
00:15:06he'll get his head up, try and find a teammate.
00:15:09And as I say, he's fallen in at the back post
00:15:11to sign any good player.
00:15:12Yeah.
00:15:12McCann, you've got the equaliser on 89 minutes.
00:15:15This is some header,
00:15:16because he's under real pressure,
00:15:17sandwiched in between two Hearts players.
00:15:19Yeah, well, Boone and Annie came on and had an impact for me.
00:15:22I think, for me, he's got to start from the get-go for Rangers.
00:15:25Yeah.
00:15:25What a fantastic header.
00:15:26It's a looping one.
00:15:27Still has a lot to do.
00:15:29And at that time,
00:15:30I just felt that the substitutions for Hearts
00:15:32really took the stinger.
00:15:33I mean, you've got to give them the benefit of doubt.
00:15:35They've had three really difficult away games.
00:15:37And they're missing a lot of key players through injury.
00:15:38And they're missing a lot of key players.
00:15:40But there's lots to like about Hearts,
00:15:41and you've got to give credit to Rangers and Derek McInnes,
00:15:43because they stayed in the game.
00:15:44And it took a great header from McInnes to get them back in.
00:15:47And then, of course,
00:15:47they've got this chance coming up right at the death
00:15:50for Dijon Stirling.
00:15:52You were saying, why does he jump?
00:15:53He doesn't need to jump.
00:15:54I don't think he does.
00:15:55I think he's just got to arrive and let it hit off.
00:15:57I think actually jumping puts him off.
00:15:59Obviously, he sees it coming over the player's head really late.
00:16:03What a ball in it is.
00:16:04It's a fantastic ball in from Curtis.
00:16:06But if he doesn't jump,
00:16:07he just takes it on the chest and he'll probably knock it in.
00:16:09It's a tough one,
00:16:09because it's caught right in between them.
00:16:11When Hearts have got a full squad to choose from,
00:16:13can they push the top two teams this season?
00:16:17I think the key question is,
00:16:18can they stay in touch when you look at all the injuries they have?
00:16:21Because they've got injuries from two players
00:16:22who would be in the start of the 11th.
00:16:23But what a ranking for me has done really well.
00:16:25He's actually used his squad really well.
00:16:27The only thing I would say, I felt tonight,
00:16:29the substitutions did impact him getting into the latter stages of the game.
00:16:32OK.
00:16:33Celtic take on Dundee United now,
00:16:35who haven't won at Celtic Park in their last 51 attempts.
00:16:41Celtic have lost five of their last eight games.
00:16:44They're out of the League Cup,
00:16:45second bottom of the Europa League,
00:16:47but still setting the pace in the Premiership.
00:16:50Dundee United have climbed up to fourth place
00:16:52with only one defeat in their last seven league games.
00:16:56Can they maintain momentum?
00:17:00Celtic are unchanged from the team which won Easter Road.
00:17:04Alistair Johnston returned in that game.
00:17:05Now he's injured again.
00:17:07Cameron Carter-Vickers stays on the bench
00:17:09and goal-shy Kasper Hu keeps his place up front.
00:17:14Just the one change for Dundee United from the team which beat Aberdeen.
00:17:18Daniel Benny drops out.
00:17:19Neil Ferruja takes over.
00:17:21Another outing for their much-admired midfield three
00:17:24of Cameron, Tate and Iqbal.
00:17:31Bauer down the line for Tierney.
00:17:35Randle tries to stay close but he concedes the corner kick.
00:17:43Bauer with the short corner.
00:17:48It's a great ball in!
00:17:49And the flashing header from Scales goes wide.
00:17:53Big chance for Celtic to go in front.
00:17:56Top delivery this.
00:18:02Excellent with a dangerous pass in field.
00:18:06It's Camilo Duran and it's a good block.
00:18:10The danger not yet over for Dundee United.
00:18:14Osmond with the crossbow back in from Negrin.
00:18:17Cushioned down by Kasper Hu.
00:18:20And it's that man Camilo Duran again.
00:18:24It's well built up by Celtic.
00:18:26The Osmond crossbow firstly Negrin.
00:18:28Then that lovely touch from Kasper Hu.
00:18:31And Camilo Duran wasn't going to miss.
00:18:40Zidane Iqbal.
00:18:43Out wide for Ferruja.
00:18:45It's a great ball in.
00:18:46And what a chance for the equaliser.
00:18:49And Jesse Randle sees his shot beaten away by Sam Johnston.
00:18:55Well, opportunities for United might not come much better
00:19:00than that one.
00:19:05Cameron in.
00:19:06Murray away.
00:19:10Duran wins it.
00:19:16Negrin.
00:19:18Osmond.
00:19:20Kasper Hu with the touch.
00:19:23And you add your money on Benjamin Negrin.
00:19:26Adding to his already impressive tally.
00:19:29Eight goals already in the campaign for them after 21 last season.
00:19:35And they were looking for that one in the top corner.
00:19:37And that after United have got themselves this big opportunity.
00:19:43And Jesse Randle had to do better than that.
00:19:48Iqbal.
00:19:50And Cameron.
00:19:55Lyle Cameron's crossbow.
00:19:57The glancing header.
00:19:59And one-one.
00:20:00Zach Sapsford.
00:20:03Scored the winner against Aberdeen at the weekend.
00:20:06He's at it again.
00:20:08And Sapsford places this header perfectly.
00:20:13And it flashes past Johnston.
00:20:21And that's a foul on Zidane Iqbal.
00:20:25Camilo Duran could have just left him alone.
00:20:28And it just gives United the chance to get the ball back into the box.
00:20:34Cameroon's delivery.
00:20:36Dangerous again.
00:20:38Dundee United have turned this around.
00:20:41In double quick time.
00:20:44It was a floated delivery.
00:20:47But Celtic were never really in charge of that.
00:20:51Defensively.
00:20:51And when the ball broke clear.
00:20:53It was Neil Ferruja.
00:20:56Might have taken a nick on its way in.
00:20:58But it will be Ferruja's goal.
00:21:01Dundee United have now got bags of encouragement.
00:21:06Colby Donovan came flying in.
00:21:09Again, Zach Sapsford.
00:21:12Yellow card.
00:21:14For the 20-year-old Celtic right back.
00:21:22Rollins.
00:21:25Given away by Scales this time.
00:21:28And one back convincingly by McGregor.
00:21:31Through for Jota.
00:21:35And looking to put that either side of the goalkeeper in the end.
00:21:39It's straight at Walton.
00:21:44McGregor with room to manoeuvre.
00:21:51Hassan full of tricks.
00:21:53Can he find some end product?
00:21:55Great hit.
00:21:58That's the first real menace we've seen off the bench.
00:22:02From the Egyptian winger.
00:22:08It's Hassan's cross ball in.
00:22:10And that's a really important header.
00:22:14Dangerous delivery from Hassan.
00:22:17Now Jota.
00:22:19That's another good ball in.
00:22:20Scales with the header.
00:22:222-2.
00:22:25Real quality about the swerving, dipping.
00:22:32And Scales sticks it away.
00:22:37Hassan.
00:22:40Dinks it back for Bauer.
00:22:42What saved by Jack Walton.
00:22:46Lovely bit of football from Hassan to set that up.
00:22:56Here goes Abdullahi Yoro for Dundee United.
00:22:58This looks really promising.
00:23:00And the shot beaten away by Johnston.
00:23:03And the follow-up effort from Lockie Rose is well off target.
00:23:09There's still a threat about Dundee United.
00:23:12Even though it's been Celtic who've been pushing for the fifth goal of the game.
00:23:19Can Celtic summon a late, late show against Dundee United?
00:23:24In from Hassan.
00:23:26Headed straight back to him.
00:23:31On to the left foot, Fizdain blocked by the goalkeeper.
00:23:36Big shouts from the stands for a penalty.
00:23:43Spilled points for Martin O'Neill.
00:23:47And Celtic.
00:23:48But it's a draw that Jim Goodwin will be absolutely delighted about.
00:23:54Celtic tried everything.
00:23:56But have to settle in the end for a two-all draw.
00:23:59The goals that we conceded, I think if we think about them we could do a wee bit better.
00:24:03But you're always going to look at goals that you've conceded and you think you can do better.
00:24:07But yeah, we can work a little bit better on some of the things that we did today.
00:24:12I thought that sometimes we could just give the ball away in important positions.
00:24:18And it was just that final ball coming in.
00:24:21Although having said that Hassan has caused havoc in the second half.
00:24:24He's crossed some great balls as well too.
00:24:27We should be getting in the end of one or two.
00:24:28Of course, there's an air of disappointment in the dressing room that we weren't able to hang on and take
00:24:35all three points.
00:24:36It would have been a historic victory had we done that.
00:24:38But I think I've got to credit the opposition.
00:24:41The changes that they made at half-time brought a real spark to their team.
00:24:44They made us suffer for large periods of that second 45 minutes.
00:24:49But we did have two or three breakaway chances that maybe we were a little bit disappointed we didn't do
00:24:55better with.
00:24:55But I can't have too many complaints about the end result.
00:25:00Massive credit to Dundee United to show their quality with and without the ball.
00:25:04A frustrating night for Celtic, it has to be said, Scott.
00:25:08Camilla Duran, yet again, putting Celtic ahead.
00:25:12It's a brilliant goal, this, actually. Brilliant teamwork.
00:25:15Yeah, listen, Essilink, who's been absolutely fantastic for Dundee United of late, actually plays a really sloppy one in the
00:25:21middle of the park.
00:25:22And Celtic just pounce on it.
00:25:24And then, as you said, that bit of quality then comes from Celtic in the attacking days.
00:25:28Oswin puts on a fantastic ball, there's bodies in the box.
00:25:31Negan picks out Kasper Hu.
00:25:33And it's a lovely deft touch, isn't it?
00:25:34To just allow Camilla Durante to come on.
00:25:36Yeah, I love the header though, the cushion header back across the six.
00:25:40It's deliberate and that's what made it a really good goal.
00:25:43Obviously, you're attacking players involved.
00:25:46And after that, you think you're going to go and take control, but it wasn't to be that way.
00:25:49Well, it wasn't to be. Let's look at that.
00:25:50I mean, United played some great stuff.
00:25:52A lot of really good football and created opportunities in that first time.
00:25:56They played with a bit of a swagger, which you don't often see teams doing at Celtic Park.
00:26:01Composure would be the word I would define it with.
00:26:03I thought, since Dan Iqbal was at the heart of that, so was Dylan Tate, so was Lyle Cameron.
00:26:09And having three footballers in there who are all in the same wavelength.
00:26:12When you're playing at Celtic Park, you have to have guys who can stay on the ball.
00:26:15And what I like about them all, they're not in a hurry to move the ball.
00:26:18Happily just to wait for the pressure to come, move it one side to the other.
00:26:22Listen, at the same time as United just moving the ball, the pressure from Celtic has got to be a
00:26:26lot better.
00:26:26Especially in your defensive for their pitch.
00:26:29But from a Dundee-Nightie perspective, they were really brave.
00:26:32Showed great quality throughout that first half.
00:26:34It was a fantastic ball in from Lyle Cameron.
00:26:36And Satchford, again, not to dissimilarly the goal he scored at the weekend.
00:26:38Very like his goal from the weekend.
00:26:39Getting across Liam Scales and it's a fantastic finish.
00:26:42But this man here, Iqbal, they were just so fluid in the middle of the part.
00:26:45I thought Celtic actually find it really hard to see who's...
00:26:47The space they've got on the ball.
00:26:48But it wasn't by...
00:26:50It wasn't as if it wasn't by design.
00:26:53Jim Goodwin obviously went there with a game plan.
00:26:56And he definitely carried that out.
00:26:58And then you obviously get the free kick.
00:27:00Listen, Faruja first to react.
00:27:02Dane Murray and Liam Scales both challenging the same ball.
00:27:05And that's the wee bits of Celtic's game where they look really vulnerable at this moment in time.
00:27:09And Dundee United, especially in that first half, deserved to earn the lead for me.
00:27:12I really like the look of Iqbal.
00:27:14He's so composed on the ball.
00:27:15And you're right.
00:27:16I mean, we've spoken about it a couple of times on the show.
00:27:19And I heard it mentioned earlier on in the radio as well.
00:27:21The midfield three are really, really important to the success that Jim's had over this last wee period with the
00:27:27team, with the results.
00:27:29They're as good as anything in the league for me at this moment in time.
00:27:32And I think that just comes down to that word, as I said, composure.
00:27:35Willing to stay in the ball, attract pressure, giving each other the ball under pressure.
00:27:39And that allows for you, when teams then come out, you can spin it in behind, because they have got
00:27:42a bit of pace there.
00:27:42And Jim Goodwin and Dundee United over the last kind of six games that is now unbeaten.
00:27:47They've been fantastic.
00:27:48Yeah, agreed.
00:27:49Liam Scales, we've seen him do this on a number of occasions.
00:27:51He's such a danger and threat in the air in the opposition box.
00:27:56Yeah, what changed the game for Celtic in the second half was definitely Hassan and Jota coming on a lot
00:28:01more direct with balls into the box.
00:28:03I think we'll get to the conversation about should Casper Hu be on in the second half when you're then
00:28:07pushing it.
00:28:08Liam Scales attacking this like a striker.
00:28:10Fantastic ball in from Jota.
00:28:12That puts it by Jack Walton.
00:28:14And then Celtic after that, you're saying, can they go and win the game?
00:28:17They had lots of chances in the latter stages of the game.
00:28:20But Dundee United, they were in the trenches in the second half.
00:28:22Yeah.
00:28:23I mean, they had attack after attack.
00:28:24Celtic, they were relentless, but they couldn't get that second going.
00:28:27I suppose the kind of argument to that is Casper Hu taking off at half-time.
00:28:31We know that he's suffering confidence-wise, but that certainly isn't going to do his confidence any good.
00:28:35And then in the second half, when you're putting those deliveries in, where your main striker's meant to be in
00:28:41the middle of the sixth
00:28:42and the amount of balls that come in there, would it not have been wise to keep him on and
00:28:45try and get his confidence up,
00:28:46he might have got the goal.
00:28:47That's where he's probably at his best in that sixth-yard box.
00:28:50I think so, and especially where the flow of the game went.
00:28:53As soon as Celtic got the equaliser, it was, listen, Dundee United got compact and had to defend their box.
00:28:58And you're just wondering if Casper Hu is in or around that 18-yard box,
00:29:03the deliveries come in from Jotan Hassan.
00:29:05It was a lot better than it was in the first half.
00:29:06We take out his goal.
00:29:07Well, he's got the presence.
00:29:08Kobe Donovan booked for this challenge by Stevie McLean.
00:29:11We saw a similar challenge which VAR intervened with on Saturday at Ibrox,
00:29:17and a red card was given to Kai Fotheringham.
00:29:19What's your thoughts on this one?
00:29:21Listen, for me, it's very similar to Kai Fotheringham's for St Johnstone at the weekend,
00:29:27albeit I don't think he makes the same amount of contact.
00:29:29I think he does nick the calf.
00:29:31I think a lot of Dundee United fans especially will be asking for a bit of consistency,
00:29:35but I don't think he catches him with the same momentum.
00:29:37I suppose all the principles of the challenge are exactly the same though,
00:29:40and if VAR intervened on Saturday, why didn't he intervene there?
00:29:43I think that's probably a question that certainly Kai Fotheringham would be asking.
00:29:46Do you think it's...
00:29:48I'm looking at it probably because the contact isn't as...
00:29:51Yeah.
00:29:52Because Kai Fotheringham's full boot was on the leg and I think Kobe Donovan just gets away with one there.
00:29:56OK, let's move on.
00:29:59Both Dundee and Kilmarnock lost at the weekend.
00:30:02The sides met tonight at Dens Park.
00:30:05Steven Presley has made Dens Park a fortress this season,
00:30:09a venue where only struggling Hibernian have claimed the spoils.
00:30:12Kilmarnock arrived here having lost four of their five away matches in the league,
00:30:16shipping three goals at Falkirk just four days ago.
00:30:20Nillowen Bevan in Presley's back line tonight.
00:30:22He's replaced by former Kille man Joe Wright.
00:30:25Bradley Fink has four goals in his last five games.
00:30:28A Kille debut for German goalkeeper Nico Mantle
00:30:31in what Neil McCann says is a tactical decision.
00:30:33Robbie Dee's also brought in for Eric Ring.
00:30:36And Aaron Tishbola fit to start after a knock.
00:30:40Dens Park remembers a fallen giant.
00:30:42The late Jorginemstadsie, one of the glamour names in such a memorable period here in Dundee.
00:30:57In comes the corner.
00:31:00Bodies flying everywhere in the Kilmarnock box.
00:31:05Dundee reload through Forrest.
00:31:08It's a dangerous ball for Fink.
00:31:10Mantle saves and Fink can only probe it onto the post.
00:31:15Dundee striker in white-hot form should have broken the deadlock.
00:31:24Dundee have lost just one of their eight home matches this season.
00:31:28Strangely enough to struggling Hibernian.
00:31:30Here's Hamilton striding forwards.
00:31:33Bevan onto the left foot.
00:31:35Gerald Bevan for Dundee.
00:31:39That's what he does.
00:31:41A firecracker in the Dens Park attack.
00:31:45And Dundee do have their breakthrough.
00:31:48It's trademark stuff from both players.
00:31:50The driving run, the penetrating pass from Hamilton.
00:31:53And Bevan's fifth of the season with a chop and finish.
00:31:59Kilmarnock have shipped 23 league goals this season.
00:32:02Most of any club in the Scottish Premiership.
00:32:04Under pressure again.
00:32:06And Hamilton should have made it too.
00:32:10Where was the Kilmarnock defence?
00:32:12Who was marking him?
00:32:21Dundee going long early.
00:32:23Something we've seen a lot of in this match.
00:32:25Steven Presley's tactics.
00:32:27But Kilty over the top for Hugel.
00:32:29Going to get the shot off.
00:32:31Incredible stop from Goodman.
00:32:35Joe Hugel head in hands.
00:32:37And wondering how on earth
00:32:39Goodman contorted his body
00:32:41to beat this clear.
00:32:45Oh, that's an awkward one at the front post.
00:32:48Samuels hits the deck.
00:32:50Duncan Nicholson, the referee,
00:32:51unmoved for the time being.
00:32:56Tussling at the front.
00:32:59Samuels and Tyrese John jewels.
00:33:01It's clumsy from the Kilmarnock forward.
00:33:03Is it enough for a spot kick?
00:33:06No.
00:33:16That's better from Kilmarnock.
00:33:18Hugel gets onto it.
00:33:19Hugel again.
00:33:21And Goodman equal to it again.
00:33:24A compelling tool between Kilmarnock striker and Dundee stopper.
00:33:32A deep delivery.
00:33:34Again, a body on the deck.
00:33:35And the referee has pointed to the spot.
00:33:39Stanger, who has spread-eagled on the turf.
00:33:43Dundee defense perplexed.
00:33:45Not a huge amount in that.
00:33:47But enough for Duncan Nicholson to award the spot kick.
00:33:54It's a little nudge in the back, a tug on the jersey.
00:33:59And up will step Joe Hugel.
00:34:01He's got a terrific record in this fixture.
00:34:03Three in his past two against Dundee.
00:34:06And it's another.
00:34:09And Kilmarnock square this game up.
00:34:12And give themselves a chance at a precious away victory.
00:34:18Goodman went the right way, but this time it's Hugel who claims the spoils.
00:34:29It's a foul by Tish Bola.
00:34:32Dundee have been handy with these deliveries, but they've gone quickly instead.
00:34:37Ashley Hay at the back post.
00:34:39And it's an immediate response from the Dens Parkside.
00:34:47Cahill McCarthy caught under it in the middle.
00:34:50And Hay on the spot, at the back post, to put this one home.
00:34:56Which body part has it struck, though?
00:34:59This is going to be given as a factual overturn for a handball by the goalscorer.
00:35:04And you can see it's the left arm of Hay.
00:35:09Drey Wright picks up against John Jules.
00:35:12A tangle of legs.
00:35:14And the decision is corner Dundee.
00:35:18Kilmarnock pretty aggrieved at that decision.
00:35:23Is there a twist in the tail?
00:35:26Hamilton, vicious action on the corner.
00:35:29Mantle the debutant out to clear.
00:35:32Hamilton and Drey Wright keep this alive.
00:35:35Kilmarnock have to bar up here.
00:35:37Tish Bola half away.
00:35:39Ashley Hay in the box.
00:35:44Forrest having a crack.
00:35:46Again, Mantle looking for it.
00:35:49Hamilton nudged out of the way.
00:35:51Another hopeful cry for a penalty.
00:35:54Pressure unrelenting on the killie box.
00:35:57Forrest's deep delivery, and Ashley Hay this time!
00:36:00It's going to count!
00:36:06Three minutes after his goal was disallowed.
00:36:09Ashley Hay soars into the Dundee sky.
00:36:13And plants his header beyond Nico Mantle.
00:36:16It's 2-1.
00:36:22Kilmarnock fans beginning to head for the exits.
00:36:26And Dundee may not be finished yet.
00:36:28What's Mantle doing?
00:36:29Where has he gone?
00:36:31What has he done?
00:36:33Ashley Hay on the money again.
00:36:37And the three points will remain in the City of Discovery.
00:36:44It's a heinous moment for the Kilmarnock goalkeeper.
00:36:48He's misjudged it horribly after the defenders were caught under this ball.
00:36:54And Ashley Hay saunters into the box and seals the victory.
00:36:59I thought we were good in the first half, but Kilmarnock had their moments.
00:37:04But again, the momentum was with Kilmarnock when they scored the equaliser.
00:37:10And it would have been easy to feel sorry for ourselves because it was a dubious penalty.
00:37:16But we didn't.
00:37:17We responded in the way that I see these players respond every time they have a setback.
00:37:23And that's why I'm exceptionally proud of them.
00:37:25I felt the second goal they get, I felt that John Joes is fouled up in the corner.
00:37:31Duncan gives a corner kick and then it's his second phase.
00:37:35But yeah, there is a lot to be positive tonight in terms of the performance.
00:37:40I thought we gave Dundee loads of problems tonight.
00:37:43And on another day, I think we could have been walking out here with three points if not one.
00:37:49Dundee continue to impress.
00:37:51And despite some positives for Kilmarnock in the performance this evening,
00:37:56they are really struggling, Scotty.
00:38:00Joe Bevan got the first on 32 minutes.
00:38:03All the goals defensively from Kilmarnock are so avoidable.
00:38:07So avoidable.
00:38:09I know Neil personally.
00:38:11Had him as a manager, he will not be happy with how soft they look defending the moments.
00:38:16Listen, Ethan Hamilton picks a good pass and Bevan goes through and tucks it away.
00:38:20But if you're watching that back after the game,
00:38:22it's nowhere near the appetite you want from your defence trying to stop goals when you're already leaking goals.
00:38:27Yeah, I think that's the thing.
00:38:30After losing three goals last weekend against Falkirk,
00:38:34you would want to go up to Denns Park tonight and remain really solid defensively.
00:38:38And to give a goal away as cheap as that, you know, it can't be due to the confidence of
00:38:44the players any good either.
00:38:45You're looking around you for blaming people when you're in those situations as well.
00:38:48Yeah, I think for me, the foundation has got to be that you look good behind the ball and not
00:38:53allow teams in opposition to cut through you so easily
00:38:56and give opportunities away that they did tonight, especially when you've done some good things going forward.
00:38:59Because they did come on.
00:39:00But if you don't have, especially in the defensive box,
00:39:04if you're defending that with that appetite and real desire to go and block shots and put pressure on your
00:39:08opponents,
00:39:09then you're going to win for a long season.
00:39:10Yeah, Kelly did equalise from the spot. Elvis thought it was a bit soft, dubious, I think he said.
00:39:16But then Ashley Hayes started causing absolute havoc.
00:39:21He's been fantastic since he came back from injury.
00:39:24I think you speak about Hartsey's injuries, Dundee have hidden in the areas of the park as well,
00:39:28but he just finds great areas.
00:39:29Listen, this one obviously gets ruled offside, but it's just...
00:39:34It's for a handball, isn't it?
00:39:35Yeah, it's for a handball, but it's the peeling away when he knows the delivery's coming in.
00:39:38On the blind side of the Kilmarnock defender, I think it's McCathery,
00:39:43and he's got no idea where he is, and he's just unfortunate that he comes off his arm.
00:39:46But, listen, he more than makes up for it.
00:39:48Again, you're looking at Dundee, first on the second balls, Forrest keeps it alive.
00:39:54Listen, he was a bright spark all night for Dundee, constantly asking questions,
00:39:57putting balls in the box.
00:39:59Again, Kilmarnock trying to get rid of it, don't get uptight enough, it lands at a Dundee player.
00:40:03And that's the things that will really be just frustrating Neil McCann on his side.
00:40:07But this is a fantastic delivery from Alan Forrest, and what a leap that is from Ash Hay.
00:40:12You'll love that one, Tom, by yourself, being a striker.
00:40:14Well, the delivery ends brilliant, but I think what he does is get up so early
00:40:18that he doesn't give the defenders an opportunity.
00:40:19What about chasing his own flick on?
00:40:21Aye, I never did that.
00:40:23Yeah, I mean, that's just about as calamitous as it gets from Kilmarnock.
00:40:28You know, how concerning is Kilmarnock's form?
00:40:31I mean, just eight points from 11 games now.
00:40:34Apart from the glaringly obvious defensively, what are the main issues for Kilmarnock?
00:40:40I think defending as a team. We always talk about defending and players do get isolated
00:40:44and get asked to defend in individual moments, but I just think collectively
00:40:47they're not getting behind the ball quicker.
00:40:49And then when they do have a chance to get back in the game,
00:40:52they shoot themselves in the foot and give cheap goals away, so they need to fix that.
00:40:55OK, a big game for Aberdeen now as they welcome in-form Falkirk to Pataudry.
00:41:02Aberdeen haven't beaten Falkirk in the top flight since 2010.
00:41:06A stat that sounds impressive, but it was only four meetings ago.
00:41:10What that really means is that the Doms couldn't beat newly promoted Falkirk last season.
00:41:14Will that change this evening?
00:41:17Steven Robinson changes two from the narrow loss to Dundee United on Saturday.
00:41:21Dan Happy returns from illness.
00:41:22Lewis Smith replaces Connor Ronan.
00:41:25Meanwhile, Falkirk keep an unchanged 11.
00:41:28Hardly a surprise after the 3-0 win against Kilmarnock at the weekend.
00:41:32Ben Crowhouse comes back from an ankle injury to be named among the sups.
00:41:39Falkirk are looking for their first back-to-back away wins in the top flight since 2009,
00:41:44and they're in behind here. It's Merle.
00:41:47And he puts it wide.
00:41:49Decent opportunity that, really, for the American,
00:41:51the second, who is in fine form.
00:41:56Pretty easy to run between the two centre-halves, you have to say.
00:42:02McCann swings in, headed away by Guinness-Walker,
00:42:07and Aremu is able to bring it up the pitch for Aberdeen and gets away from Ethan Ross,
00:42:12finds Malua.
00:42:15Armstrong into the middle, there's Nisbet, it's blocked.
00:42:18Headed back by Caden and gathered by Bain.
00:42:21Well, that was a big opportunity for the Dons.
00:42:24Brilliant pick-out from Armstrong.
00:42:26Kevin Nisbet from there.
00:42:28You'd normally back him, but it was too central.
00:42:32And well blocked in the end by Falkirk.
00:42:40Malua chasing Liam Henderson.
00:42:42He puts him under pressure, he might come away with the ball as well.
00:42:44Big chance, Malua, and saved by the legs of Scott Bain.
00:42:50Well, should Aberdeen's number nine do better here?
00:42:53Does really well to put the pressure on Henderson.
00:42:56Don't think there's a foul there.
00:42:59But not enough venom in the finish.
00:43:03Spencer.
00:43:06Looking for Merle and he can find Owen Eames.
00:43:13He's away from Caden.
00:43:15Oh, he's away from him again.
00:43:17Owen Eames still going.
00:43:18It's blocked, Mike dropped to Barbrook.
00:43:20There's another deflection on the way through.
00:43:22And it brings it to Marius Muller.
00:43:26It's a lovely play from Owen Eames.
00:43:28Coming to a bit of form, the Falkirk loanee.
00:43:31And that's unlucky for Barbrook.
00:43:36Chance is at a bit of a premium in this first half.
00:43:39But this could be an opportunity for Falkirk.
00:43:41Ethan Ross.
00:43:42Marius Muller makes the save.
00:43:45Ethan Ross who started his career at Aberdeen.
00:43:49Keen to get a bit of vengeance.
00:43:52And he got a fair bit of whip onto that shot.
00:43:54It was far too easy for Falkirk to have the opportunity in the first place.
00:43:59An easy enough save for Muller.
00:44:03Headed away by Kevin Nisbet.
00:44:06I think back there.
00:44:08Ross whips in.
00:44:08There's the header again.
00:44:11And it's a good save for Muller once more.
00:44:14He is keeping the game goalless single-handedly right now.
00:44:20Brilliant header from Melnix.
00:44:24Steven Robinson was encouraged by his side's display in that 3-2 loss to Dundee United.
00:44:30Not happy with the defending though.
00:44:32That's better for Maloua.
00:44:34And Cadden is just over the bar.
00:44:36And it's taking a deflection on the way through as well.
00:44:39Brilliant play from Ayud Melua.
00:44:41To tee up the Aberdeen right-back.
00:44:44Bit of ingenuity.
00:44:45And again it's desperate Falkirk defending.
00:44:50That blocks Cadden's shot from going goalbound.
00:44:55Armstrong.
00:44:58Half dealt with by Falkirk.
00:45:03Armstrong scurrying and lofting it in.
00:45:07Might drop for Guinness Walker.
00:45:09Oh, there's a player down.
00:45:11Another player down.
00:45:12And the ball's over the bar for Maloua.
00:45:15Well, Grant Scott, the referee, has pointed for a goal kick there.
00:45:20I wonder if we'll have a further look at this.
00:45:24Two Aberdeen players hitting the deck.
00:45:26Dan Happy the first of them.
00:45:28And then next to Guinness Walker.
00:45:30I think the ball might have been away already before Maloua lifts it over the bar.
00:45:36Two decent chances for him in this first half.
00:45:43Nicky Devlin making his first league appearance of the season.
00:45:47Replacing the injured Chris Cadden.
00:45:53Well, that's a strong challenge from Findlay Marshall.
00:45:56And play goes on.
00:45:57It is an advantage to Falkirk.
00:45:59Owen Eames lifts it into the middle.
00:46:01And it's cleared away.
00:46:04I think that's Melnix who's still down struggling.
00:46:09Spencer.
00:46:10Out to Eames again.
00:46:12He curls for goal and Jack Milne heads into the sky.
00:46:15Muller.
00:46:15Oh, he's punched that.
00:46:16This might be a chance for Crowhouse.
00:46:19Huge opportunity for Falkirk.
00:46:21The chance still alive though.
00:46:22Strain into Crowhouse again.
00:46:25And Falkirk finally make the breakthrough.
00:46:28And it's the substitute Ben Crowhouse.
00:46:34Marius Muller cuts a frustrated figure.
00:46:37It was his flat that gifted that chance to Falkirk.
00:46:45Aberdeen never did enough to get that away.
00:46:48And Strain with the pick-out.
00:46:50Crowhouse just stabbing it in to the bottom corner.
00:46:53And Falkirk, good value for the lead there.
00:46:59What a result this would be if they could take three points back down the road.
00:47:06The on loan Brentford man with the goal.
00:47:12Armstrong out to Nisbet.
00:47:16Devlin cuts it across.
00:47:18Bain gets a touch.
00:47:18Might sit for Lyons.
00:47:19Oh, it's blocked by Strain.
00:47:22Huge opportunity for Aberdeen to level.
00:47:25How have they missed that chance?
00:47:29And it's Falkirk who will try and come away with the ball.
00:47:32Well, desperate defending from John McGlynn's side.
00:47:35Scott Bain almost gifting that to Lyons.
00:47:38He's got to be more clinical from there.
00:47:43You have to score that.
00:47:50The full-time whistle goes.
00:47:53Callum Scott brings it to an end.
00:47:55And the boos rain down at Pataudry.
00:47:58A huge win for Falkirk.
00:48:01The run goes on.
00:48:03John McGlynn has never lost a league game to Aberdeen.
00:48:06That run continues.
00:48:08A huge three points for Falkirk.
00:48:10Could take all the spoils at Pataudry.
00:48:12It finishes Aberdeen nil.
00:48:14Falkirk won.
00:48:16We rode a luck a little bit of times in the second half.
00:48:19Some clearances on the shots that maybe you're thinking they're going to score.
00:48:23But our boys showed a great attitude.
00:48:25They worked exceptionally hard.
00:48:27Ben Cross has taken the goal really, really well.
00:48:30The work rate, the commitment, it was so pleasing on the eye.
00:48:35When you pass the ball a bit better, you'll take the result.
00:48:38Because we had to battle and we fought and go to give our players credit for all that, yeah.
00:48:42I'm just wondering, just personally, Stephen, how much pressure you feel you're under even at this early stage in the
00:48:47season?
00:48:48I don't make those decisions.
00:48:50So, I just get on with my job.
00:48:52I've experienced in what I do.
00:48:54But, ultimately, you have to get results.
00:48:56Otherwise, you know they're inevitable.
00:48:57And how confident are you that you will be able to get things turned around and get the team moving
00:49:02in the right direction again?
00:49:04Well, I believe that we can.
00:49:05I believe, given time, we will.
00:49:07But, time's not something you get given a lot in football.
00:49:12Aberdeen booed off at Pataudry.
00:49:14Has Falkirk won yet again?
00:49:16Aberdeen had a lot of the game today, but it's another game they haven't won.
00:49:21They've won three of their eleven matches so far this season.
00:49:24And that is not good enough for Aberdeen Football Club.
00:49:27No, not for the expectations.
00:49:29I think, coming in at the start of the season, you would expect them to be looking at that top
00:49:32six.
00:49:33They're just really struggling to find any sort of consistency.
00:49:36One week they look like they're scoring goals, then they get their home game,
00:49:38and you just see a completely different performance.
00:49:40So, I think you can tell in an interview there with Stephen Ross how frustrated he is.
00:49:43And he'll probably go away and look at himself, how we can maybe try and get them going in the
00:49:47right direction.
00:49:48But, at this moment in time, the fans at Aberdeen aren't happy at all.
00:49:51The fans at Falkirk are enjoying themselves.
00:49:53Three straight wins, back-to-back clean sheets as well.
00:49:56I mean, the only goal of the game came in 73 minutes, courtesy of Ben Crowhouse.
00:49:59They've probably played better than this, Falkirk, but it's another game they've won.
00:50:03And that's down to that man John McGlynn.
00:50:05What an operator he is.
00:50:06Obviously a new squad, just starting to bed together.
00:50:09You talk about the games that they've just won there, three in a row.
00:50:11Ben Crowhouse coming off the bench, definitely made an impact.
00:50:14All these wee bits of the games that John McGlynn, when he's on the training pitch, he's probably talking about
00:50:19the football side of it.
00:50:20But it's a fantastic pick-out from Ryan Strain and a great finish.
00:50:23The pace is on the ball and he just guides into the far corner Crowhouse.
00:50:27And listen, after that they did have to defend at times, but I thought they were excellent.
00:50:31I thought they deserved it on the night and John McGlynn is just doing it all again.
00:50:35Yeah, massive game this weekend for Aberdeen, the League Cup semi-final.
00:50:41It feels as though a game really needs to win it.
00:50:43They'd go a long way to getting some favour back with the Aberdeen fans.
00:50:46Yeah, that would help, especially against Rangers.
00:50:48A chance to get to a final at Hampden.
00:50:51But as I said, I just think they're very unpredictable at this moment in time.
00:50:54It's hard to see what sort of performance is going to come from Aberdeen,
00:50:57but they have to start winning games and none better than the Rangers if you're Aberdeen.
00:51:02Yeah, and to give Falkirk even more clear, I think at the start of the season a lot of people
00:51:05said,
00:51:06with the players that they'd lost and the turnaround of adding 17 or whatever it was,
00:51:11new faces, that it would be hard to replicate last season.
00:51:14But they're already, after a slow start, starting to show that they're well capable of doing that again.
00:51:19Yeah, they were always going to have a slow start.
00:51:22I think John McGlynn spoke about that at the start of the season and how he had to bed his
00:51:25ideas.
00:51:25And the way he plays, I think you have to give it a bit of time.
00:51:29What he's done when he hasn't maybe had it slick as he wants it, he's managed to win games.
00:51:32Guys are now coming into their own.
00:51:34He likes to go down south, take the younger players, give them opportunity
00:51:36and they're certainly paying him back just now.
00:51:38They are backed.
00:51:40Tim McDermott Park and St Johnson face the Motherwell side,
00:51:42who have lost six consecutive games.
00:51:46Despite the defeat of Ibrox, St Johnson have settled back in to the end
00:51:49and around the top six in the Premiership.
00:51:50The number six is less so good for Motherwell.
00:51:54Simo Balacani makes three changes from Saturday with Todd, Holt and Payton
00:51:58coming into the play, Smith, Cotterell and Campbell.
00:52:02I think Johansson insists his team are going in the right direction despite the form.
00:52:07The side are unchanged from the weekend, there is encouragement as well
00:52:09as Regan Charles Cook and Lucas Feiringer on the bench.
00:52:15It's the wayside's worst run since Terry Butcherday back in 2003.
00:52:21Looking to try and pick this one back up here.
00:52:29Here's Longolo, he's taking a little deflection inside in the turn.
00:52:45Longolo, Holt and the one-two working really well here.
00:52:49It's a dangerous ball across, and Stuart there once more.
00:52:53And before this round of fixtures, Mo says 44 in the Premiership, Stuart,
00:52:59and another good moment there for him.
00:53:03Stephen out here for Fowler.
00:53:05St Johnson, first real big for A forward.
00:53:07Fowler across, pulls another hand in there.
00:53:10It's only half away.
00:53:13Gullin back to Fowler wide.
00:53:15Gullin back to Fowler wide.
00:53:17Couldn't feed again.
00:53:18Flank through here, Stephen!
00:53:20Goal, St Johnstone.
00:53:23First big moment of the match they've had.
00:53:26His first late goal of the season.
00:53:29And it's the same story for Molywell here.
00:53:31All the possession, couple of good chances but they're behind.
00:53:36And took that so well, didn't he?
00:53:39That second phase from the first chance.
00:53:48Mixing ball up here to Palmer Holden.
00:53:51Motherwell again back in the rhythm, but still looking for that goal.
00:53:56Longlow with arm up, but here's Saeed!
00:53:59Oh, keeper and toast!
00:54:02Very good try from Ibrahim Saeed.
00:54:04Very much stung those fingertips.
00:54:09See my back Harry's side, picking up points nicely.
00:54:12Only two defeats in the last seven, and those defeats came against old form.
00:54:17Gullin with the cross, it's Fowler in there with the header.
00:54:21Very good.
00:54:23Ball in, Poulsen with the stop.
00:54:27What a curling ball that was!
00:54:33Arthur Johansson has talked about time and patience.
00:54:38Longlow to Saeed.
00:54:41Still going, Saeed.
00:54:43Still going, still going!
00:54:46Fantastic goal from Ibrahim Saeed!
00:54:5011 minutes before the break.
00:54:52Marwell do have that equaliser.
00:54:55And the wee fans have something to celebrate.
00:54:58He just kept on going, kept on going.
00:55:00Waiting for the foot to go down for Finlayson.
00:55:03And bang!
00:55:04For 1-1.
00:55:05It's a tremendous goal.
00:55:11Quick corner.
00:55:13In here towards Maswanese.
00:55:15Trying to get a quick fire, second here, the wayside.
00:55:20Good ball in.
00:55:22At the speed of shooting and turned it.
00:55:23Quick connect with it though.
00:55:29Another different routine here from Motherwell.
00:55:32Good ball in!
00:55:33That is a stunning save.
00:55:37Maswanese up there.
00:55:39And the hand away by Stewart.
00:55:49Durrud Reich.
00:55:53Good stuff, Alex.
00:55:55He found this in and also up to bother.
00:55:56Here is Maswanese!
00:55:59The forgotten goal scorer is back.
00:56:01Only second of the season.
00:56:03Is this a catalyst for Motherwell?
00:56:05They lead in Perth.
00:56:09Not great defending at all, but Maswanese uses strength.
00:56:12And slotted it home so well.
00:56:14So prolific last season.
00:56:17Back amongst the goals.
00:56:18Through the legs.
00:56:21Great feet.
00:56:23Looked up.
00:56:24And slotted home.
00:56:29St Johnson's starting to try.
00:56:32Find something.
00:56:34In and around there.
00:56:35The mix.
00:56:37Was Peyton but.
00:56:39Fairly comfortable there.
00:56:40With Fowler in there.
00:56:41Once more trying to get.
00:56:42Something in there.
00:56:46There's Fowler again.
00:56:48Goodness me.
00:56:49How do you not get these studs onto that?
00:56:52Subline cross from Todd.
00:56:54Right across the face of goal.
00:56:57And just not the taker.
00:57:06Good stuff off from Charles Cook.
00:57:07Great to see him back on the pitch.
00:57:09Sparrow.
00:57:11Hodge takes it on.
00:57:12There is space.
00:57:13There's too much space from a St Johnston point of view.
00:57:15But.
00:57:16It's beaten away by the goalkeeper.
00:57:20Motherwell.
00:57:21With chances.
00:57:22Haven't put them away.
00:57:23St Johnston.
00:57:24Still looking.
00:57:28Point to Chalmers.
00:57:31Good Bowen.
00:57:32Can't ball.
00:57:35Sensational.
00:57:36St Johnston have got themselves an equaliser.
00:57:38Josh Campbell's first.
00:57:40In this launch spell for the club.
00:57:42And the same old sinking feeling.
00:57:44For Motherwell.
00:57:47What a cross in my Chalmers.
00:57:49What credit he should get.
00:57:50Super better.
00:57:52And it's going to be a point apiece in Perth.
00:57:57So small margins in this league.
00:58:00So important.
00:58:01If you are losing.
00:58:04Stay in a match.
00:58:04Stay in a match.
00:58:05Stay in a match.
00:58:05You will get your chance.
00:58:06And we got our chance in the end.
00:58:08And I think we deserve it at that point.
00:58:12But it tells more the character and personalities of our players.
00:58:16How they want to push.
00:58:17They want to compete.
00:58:18And that's kind of the main thing.
00:58:21They never gave up today.
00:58:23They never gave up today.
00:58:24You know.
00:58:25So they pushed until the end.
00:58:26And we got our point.
00:58:28No.
00:58:29It's an extremely sore end.
00:58:31To this game for us.
00:58:33Yeah.
00:58:34Obviously that's very, very tough.
00:58:36Given the fact that I think we again play a quite good game.
00:58:41And probably again should have scored more than two goals.
00:58:47The two goals that we scored today.
00:58:51But to finish it off like that.
00:58:53Yeah.
00:58:53It's very tough.
00:58:54And it's a little bit the story of our performances right now.
00:58:59That we can't seem to close off that box good enough.
00:59:06Heartbreak for Alfred Johansson.
00:59:08As Saeed throw away the chance to win.
00:59:10For the first time since the 2nd of September.
00:59:13Scots.
00:59:13Johnson took the lead.
00:59:14But it was a great response from Motherwell.
00:59:17Saeed and Mats Winise with two good, well-taking goals.
00:59:21Certainly we take into account the run that they've been on.
00:59:23And you always knew this was going to be a difficult game for them going up there.
00:59:26But Saeed.
00:59:27That is what you want to see from him if you're a Motherwell fan.
00:59:29Doing what he does best.
00:59:30Getting out of the pockets.
00:59:31Getting on the half turn.
00:59:32And squaring guys up and getting at them.
00:59:34And showing that bit of quality that Motherwell have been missing.
00:59:36Especially in the attacking areas this year.
00:59:38And he absolutely slams at home.
00:59:38What a goal that is.
00:59:39I mean he is so dangerous.
00:59:41But you know he doesn't have that final wee bit often enough.
00:59:44Not consistently enough.
00:59:46What that gives you.
00:59:47I'll do him the world.
00:59:48The world of good scoring a goal.
00:59:49Of that calibre.
00:59:50But Motherwell as a team need more from him in the attacking areas for me.
00:59:54In this one listen.
00:59:55It's a decent ball in an area.
00:59:57What Mats Winise has is pace.
00:59:59Defending from a St Johnstone point of view.
01:00:01And some of the goals we've seen defensively all night.
01:00:03It's not been a great play for the defenders.
01:00:05But listen.
01:00:06He gambles on it.
01:00:07He makes no mistake.
01:00:08And slides it under the goalkeeper.
01:00:10With his left foot.
01:00:11And at this point you're just wondering.
01:00:12Can Motherwell hang on?
01:00:14Yeah.
01:00:14That means St Johnstone have got to do better.
01:00:16One of the two of them has got to deal with it.
01:00:18Josh Campbell.
01:00:19He rescued a point.
01:00:21With another really good header.
01:00:22We've seen some good headers tonight.
01:00:24We have.
01:00:25And we've seen Josh Campbell score many headers like that.
01:00:27Yeah.
01:00:27Because what he does really well.
01:00:28Josh Campbell is attacks the box really well.
01:00:31And I imagine there's some Hibs fans wondering why he isn't still involved in their team over in Leaf.
01:00:35But listen.
01:00:36Tonight for St Johnstone.
01:00:37And they've been really resilient throughout the course of the season so far.
01:00:40Under Seymour.
01:00:41But it's a decent ball in.
01:00:42And it's a great header from Josh Campbell.
01:00:45But if you're Motherwell and the manager's been talking about defending the box.
01:00:48Especially it's basically the last touch of the ball of the game.
01:00:52You have to attach yourself to someone.
01:00:54You see I think it's O'Donnell there.
01:00:56And obviously slapping his hands together.
01:00:58But as a team.
01:00:59As soon as you know that crossing.
01:01:00Can you get close to somebody.
01:01:01Josh Campbell's in the middle of the year.
01:01:03Six yard box with a free header.
01:01:05And instead of it being three points it's one point.
01:01:06Yeah.
01:01:07Alfred Jansen you could see there.
01:01:08He was absolutely raging.
01:01:10After six straight defeat.
01:01:11Seconds from the win.
01:01:12But the draw at least stops.
01:01:14That run of defeat stops the rot if you like.
01:01:17It does.
01:01:18But I think.
01:01:18Again.
01:01:19Foundations.
01:01:20Defending properly.
01:01:21You have to start winning games of football.
01:01:23What the positives will take from tonight is.
01:01:25Siding mass when you see getting on the score sheet.
01:01:27And looking threatening again.
01:01:28But defensively they have to sort it out.
01:01:30Absolutely.
01:01:31Hibbs travelled to Paisley earlier.
01:01:33With Manning Reedyke still searching for his first points as manager.
01:01:38St Mernandie.
01:01:39Their own mini crisis.
01:01:40With a first win in six against Dundee at the weekend.
01:01:43While the change of manager has not brought a change of fortune to the Easter Road side.
01:01:47Just yet.
01:01:50Craig McLeish makes a solitary change to that starting 11.
01:01:54There's no Ishmael Kabir.
01:01:56Chris Mockrey gets the start for some middle tonight.
01:02:00The performance against Celtic had its moments.
01:02:03A single change also for Hibbs.
01:02:05Nicky Cadlett is preferred to Thiebaud Cleger.
01:02:14It's a very colourful Hibbs side this evening.
01:02:18There's the opportunity for Hibbs.
01:02:20Hibbs.
01:02:20Eldin brings it down.
01:02:22Out to pass that.
01:02:24Eldin was halted in his tracks.
01:02:27That's across.
01:02:28Mulligan might get ready.
01:02:30Just didn't sit down for him.
01:02:36Nice move from Hibbs.
01:02:37Hibbs.
01:02:39Eldin ran into Gogic.
01:02:41Or the other way around.
01:02:42The other way he looked at it.
01:02:43He's a hard man to get past.
01:02:45And in the end Mulligan.
01:02:47The chance felt up.
01:02:48It was a good one too.
01:02:49It's a good one too.
01:02:56They're going to win at five against Hibbs.
01:02:59Causing problems for themselves.
01:03:02While they've struggled against Hibbs in recent times.
01:03:05And they don't need to give Hibbs any encouragement.
01:03:08Chapman played it out.
01:03:09He was nearly made to pick.
01:03:13John Huell in the right place.
01:03:18Fraser closed down.
01:03:21He's reacting quickly.
01:03:23Cadden with the ball on the inside.
01:03:26McGrath will make the run.
01:03:27Goes in.
01:03:28Runs into Fraser.
01:03:30Half-hearted shout for a penalty.
01:03:34Here's Carr.
01:03:36Carr goes down.
01:03:37That will be a free kick.
01:03:39Jamie McGrath looked back at the referee.
01:03:40Once he was down, more on hope and expectation.
01:03:47And it's corner for the Hibbs support.
01:03:50Desperately trying to find the lead.
01:03:55Just snatching at the efforts that come in the way Hibbs.
01:04:00Looking to the sky.
01:04:02Scored in his last couple of games too.
01:04:04It's been a man in form.
01:04:05Brought it down well.
01:04:07Rising all the way.
01:04:13And it's corner takes a little deflection.
01:04:15It's in.
01:04:17Ivacic.
01:04:18And then got the final touch.
01:04:20It was not a work of art.
01:04:23But Hibbs absolutely thrilled.
01:04:26It will also be the first official shot on target in the game.
01:04:30It bounced around.
01:04:32And it was popped up.
01:04:36Well, Samirn had enough players back.
01:04:38Little deflection and in.
01:04:40And Hibbs take the lead.
01:04:4273 minutes gone.
01:04:44Margaret Ivacic with his first Hibbs goal.
01:04:54No, Samirn have to respond.
01:04:56Here's Kelly Phillips.
01:04:57Phillips plays it wide.
01:05:00Opportunity for Jake Young.
01:05:03Young.
01:05:03Ah, that's delightful.
01:05:04Gets it across.
01:05:05Into Phillips.
01:05:06Good block.
01:05:07Back to Young.
01:05:08Almost through Salinger.
01:05:11And it's Samuel Ramos.
01:05:13Who looks to the heavens.
01:05:16Much better play from Samirn.
01:05:20Excellent footwork from Jake Young.
01:05:22Little drag back.
01:05:23Pass, pass lack.
01:05:25Hibbs had so many players back.
01:05:29He's looking anxious.
01:05:31Here's the Samirn boss.
01:05:34Interesting the process though.
01:05:38Phillips plays it in.
01:05:40It's better.
01:05:40It's the shot.
01:05:42Seven and equal eyes with seven minutes to play.
01:05:45And I think there's a whiff of an on goal about this one.
01:05:53Ezio celebrates.
01:05:55But I think the goalkeeper may have played this off his own man.
01:05:58There it was.
01:05:59And the unlucky player is Jason Kerr.
01:06:03That's two on goals in just a few days.
01:06:06He's unlucky.
01:06:07Could do nothing about it.
01:06:08But Samirn on the level.
01:06:09Paul Ezio will claim it.
01:06:12But this is going down.
01:06:13It's an on goal.
01:06:17Well the game sprung to life with about 15 minutes to play.
01:06:23Both teams.
01:06:24Looking much better.
01:06:26Pledgert.
01:06:26Steps inside.
01:06:27That's a lovely ball towards Mayer.
01:06:30Getting it across.
01:06:31He leaps over the board.
01:06:34And now Samirn will try and come away.
01:06:37Much, much better.
01:06:38Last 15.
01:06:40Perhaps they've only lost twice on this ground in the last 14 league meetings.
01:06:44And Samirn who are looking for a winner.
01:06:47Ramos.
01:06:48Sends it long.
01:06:49Phillips has been dangerous all night.
01:06:52It's a great ball across for Ramsey.
01:06:56Well, Calvin Ramsey, who scored in the weekend against Dundee, had the opportunity that Samirn were looking for.
01:07:04He called for the ball.
01:07:06It fell to him.
01:07:07He just couldn't finish.
01:07:14Sends.
01:07:15Finishing strong.
01:07:17Is there a way through Jake Young?
01:07:19Jake Young.
01:07:21A little nutmeg.
01:07:22Driving in Jake Young.
01:07:23Salinger with a save.
01:07:25Almost fell for Phillips.
01:07:27That's a good stop from the Hibs keeper.
01:07:31He's made a difference.
01:07:35Mayer.
01:07:36Play Jack.
01:07:38Chapman poised in his goal.
01:07:40Waiting for it.
01:07:41All the way across.
01:07:43But Hibs had so many players forward.
01:07:47Goan Eldink thumps the post with his booting frustration.
01:07:51This was a delightful ball.
01:07:53Begging to be knocked away.
01:07:54And it wasn't.
01:07:56You're going to have nights like that where you're not quite at it.
01:07:59And we've still managed to come away from a point.
01:08:01And even then, the response from going a goal down was excellent.
01:08:06And then we actually have probably two or three clear-cut chances after that where we could maybe go and
01:08:10win the game.
01:08:11I think probably a point after it is fair for both sides.
01:08:16I thought Hibs were very good tonight and they made the game difficult for us.
01:08:20I think we should have three points and therefore there is a pride on how the guys fought today for
01:08:29the club, for each other, for every metre on the pitch.
01:08:33I think you say inch on the pitch or yard.
01:08:37But therefore it's unfortunate because I think we deserve more today than just one point.
01:08:43However, we have to live with it.
01:08:45Again, we saw improvements.
01:08:46I think we saw a team who pressed high and regained the ball high.
01:08:51And on the ball we were composed and clinical.
01:08:54So, this is a good step.
01:08:57A point is a point.
01:08:58And we continue to Sunday.
01:09:02Far from a classic in Paisley.
01:09:04But I suppose a draw hard to argue with.
01:09:06Although, Manning Meadink probably thinks his team deserved it.
01:09:09We can talk about that in a minute.
01:09:10Hibs scored the first scrappy.
01:09:12Irizic with the goal.
01:09:14And this, I think, was one of the first shots on target in the game.
01:09:19Which sums it up really.
01:09:19Yeah.
01:09:20And so late on in the game.
01:09:21Listen, what they do do.
01:09:23It's a decent ball in from Nicky Carr.
01:09:24And Hibs keep it alive.
01:09:26They make the first contact.
01:09:27And Irizic obviously for his first goal.
01:09:29They had to tap in.
01:09:30And that was up until that point.
01:09:31There was nothing in terms of imagination from either side in the final third.
01:09:35So you always felt if a goal was coming, it was going to come from a set.
01:09:38Do you agree with the Hibs manager there that his team deserved to win the match?
01:09:41No, I don't think they've done enough creatively in the final third.
01:09:46I think that's been a real problem for Hibs of late.
01:09:49Having that little bit of finesse.
01:09:51Picking the right pass, the way to pass, and then having the finish to go with it.
01:09:54Listen, he has to put a positive on it.
01:09:56It's a point on the road.
01:09:57St Mirren off the back of a good result with the weekend.
01:09:59But I think there needs to be a lot more improvement, especially in the attacking areas.
01:10:03Yeah, agreed.
01:10:03St Mirren equalised.
01:10:05This was equally scrappy.
01:10:07Paul Encio thought he was getting the goal, but he's not getting it.
01:10:10It's a Jason Kerr OG.
01:10:11Yeah.
01:10:12The two goals summed up the standard of the game that was put on show tonight from both sides.
01:10:17Both capable of much better football.
01:10:19And Paul Encio, again, it's the same sort of things.
01:10:21Making first contact.
01:10:22And Hibs not being able to defend the lead late on in the game.
01:10:26And it comes off Jason Kerr.
01:10:27How unlucky is that right off his face?
01:10:29He's had a hard week, hasn't he, with somebody?
01:10:31Oh, man.
01:10:31It's unfortunate.
01:10:32But listen, Hibs.
01:10:33Yeah.
01:10:33Hibs have to take the point and they now have a huge game coming the weekend.
01:10:36We do.
01:10:37We'll chat about that.
01:10:39After losing five in a row, it's another point, I suppose, for St Mirren on the board
01:10:43after the weekend's win.
01:10:45Has they tried to recapture that kind of early season form that was so good?
01:10:51Yeah, they were really bright early part of the season.
01:10:53But I think it says a lot about Craig McLeish and his team because you speak about that run
01:10:56that they were on.
01:10:57Really good performance and terrible conditions at the weekend.
01:11:00And then Hibs, listen, coming looking for their first win under the new manager.
01:11:03Yes, it wasn't a fantastic game.
01:11:05But they managed to dig in and get a point.
01:11:07Let's have a wee chat about the weekend's cup semi-final.
01:11:10I mean, this game is absolutely massive.
01:11:12It's Edinburgh Derby.
01:11:14And I know Marek Reedyk's just in the door.
01:11:17He's yet to win a game.
01:11:18But what a game this would be to win as your first match in the semi-final against your
01:11:23biggest rivals.
01:11:24Yeah, what a way to come into Hibs and endear yourself to the support.
01:11:28But it's going to be a really difficult game.
01:11:30We've seen the quality of Hearts have, especially in the attacking areas.
01:11:32They're creating chances or scoring goals.
01:11:35And Hibs, for me, both boxes still look a bit vulnerable.
01:11:37So, yes, a difficult game, but it's still a Derby.
01:11:39Anything is possible.
01:11:40And he'll be looking at that to get his first win and get Hibs to the final.
01:11:44Yeah, I'm going to ask you for a prediction.
01:11:45But, I mean, I'm kind of guessing what's coming, given you're a high way.
01:11:48Extra time.
01:11:49Extra time.
01:11:50Are you going to?
01:11:50And?
01:11:52And, listen, I think Hearts are our favourites going into this one.
01:11:55I really do.
01:11:55I think they're playing with some really good attacking intent.
01:11:59But you just never know in a day.
01:12:00So, I'm not going to commit to that one.
01:12:01Right.
01:12:02Will you commit to the Rangers-Aberdeen one?
01:12:03Rangers.
01:12:04Right.
01:12:05As succinct as that.
01:12:06Yes.
01:12:07Okay.
01:12:07Right.
01:12:08Let's have a wee look at the table.
01:12:12Celtic top on 28 points.
01:12:15Rangers second with 24.
01:12:18Hearts are in third this evening.
01:12:20Dundee are in 17 points with their neighbours.
01:12:24Dundee United just one behind.
01:12:27Falkirk are into the top six.
01:12:28They've replaced St Mirren who are now in seventh.
01:12:31St Johnston in eighth.
01:12:33Aberdeen ninth with Motherwell two behind in tenth.
01:12:36Hibbs on eighth.
01:12:37The same as Kelly who are bottom on goal difference.
01:12:40And here is what's coming up this week to enjoy.
01:12:43A view from the terrace available Friday midnight on iPlayer.
01:12:49Our championship offering this week is Stenny against Livy.
01:12:53That's Friday 7.25 BBC Scotland.
01:12:58There will be Premiership highlights this weekend.
01:13:01Saturday and Sunday.
01:13:02Both nights 7.15 on BBC Scotland.
01:13:06And look at that.
01:13:08A Milan Derby.
01:13:09Saturday 7.40 BBC 2.
01:13:13That's it for tonight.
01:13:14Thanks very much to Scott and to you for staying up with us.
01:13:18For the beautiful chaos that is Scottish football.
01:13:46What's your world.

01:13:53Where he's just standing by nose,
01:13:55Oh three who stops at nightside.
01:13:57Who stops at nightside somewhat toanno.
