00:00Obviously, I've been waiting for this one for a good little bit, but, you know, the whole bulletin board material
00:04and things like that,
00:05I'm just ready to go put them hands on them. I'm just going to keep it simple like that.
00:08Did you see Cam Hayward's comments the other day about what you had said after the game?
00:12I'm not worried about Cam. I'm not worried about their O-line. I'm not worried about nobody that got on
00:16their team.
00:16We're out there to go to dominate. We're about to make Pittsburgh guards on Saturday or Sunday.
00:20I think if you get too focused on bulletin board material, if you need that to kind of hype you
00:24up and to get ready for a game,
00:25if you need a coach to come up there and be like, oh, this is what they said, then you're
00:27not ready for football.
00:28I look for the type of football that you just have pure aggression for.
00:31I look for the type of football where the fans are yelling at you and screaming at you,
00:34where the coaches are getting at you. You're in the coach's face. The coach is in your face.
00:38Everyone just has pure passion and pure love for the game.
00:40If you need bulletin board material, then you're not part of the game I love.
00:43Ooh, I like the end of it.
00:44I love this guy.
00:46Did he say make Pittsburgh ours? Is that what that was?
00:49It was kind of quick.
00:51It was right in the middle.
00:53I don't know. I heard it, but I couldn't understand it.
00:56Maybe that was it. That'd be awesome.
00:57I think he said make Pittsburgh ours.
01:01That's lovely.
01:03Isn't that lovely?
01:04That's awesome.
01:05That's someone to get.
01:06I mean, again, I gave you that great speech.
01:08Battle him of the Browns.
01:11Hi, I'm Andy Baskin.
01:12I gave you the great speech.
01:17Yeah, there it is.
01:19That's applause worthy right there.
01:21I gave you the great speech.
01:28My people.
01:34From the bottom of my heart for letting me be your leader there.
01:37Yeah.
01:38For just a few moments.
01:39Really good.
01:39Yeah.
01:40The problem is that I got Jeff backstabbing me the whole time.
01:46No.
01:46Questioning whether I know the three rumors or not.
01:48Oh, I didn't question.
01:50You spit them all out.
01:51Nice job.
01:52Yeah.
01:53On behalf of all my teachers in the Cleveland Heights system, thank you.
01:59I appreciate you.
02:00Has Jared Burst been disappointed to you?
02:01No, I have not really been.
02:03Look, I didn't expect Jared Burst to be Miles Garrett.
02:07Agreed.
02:07So, if you didn't expect him to be Miles Garrett and you expected him to be, to be honest,
02:13he's done what I want him to do.
02:16Make the game tough for the other team.
02:19Pressure the quarterback.
02:21I wanted him to, you know, tackle for loss.
02:24All of those things that kind of go along with that.
02:26I did not expect him to be the all-time sack leader in Browns history.
02:30Agreed.
02:31And so, because of that, Jared Burst, for me, I know I hear people go, I better come
02:36up with a sack.
02:37You better have a sack here, a sack there.
02:39I don't care.
02:41They're winning.
02:42Something's going right.
02:44I feel like everybody else on the defensive line is playing to a new level because I think
02:49they all kind of felt like, well, you know, all the attention was on Miles before, and
02:54now I think these guys are playing with more freedom.
02:56You know, there was talk about, you know, with Miles, like, don't go in on a play where
03:01Miles could have the full sack because we don't want to be giving away half sacks for
03:05a guy trying to break the record.
03:06Well, as much as that's great, and it gave us something to cheer about at the end of the
03:10season when we thought it was important to have something to hang our hat on, kind of
03:14a loser's mentality.
03:16Like, we're sitting here worried about someone who's breaking a record rather than winning
03:20games.
03:21Like, what's wrong with us?
03:23And I was excited for Miles.
03:24Don't get me wrong.
03:25I was happy he broke the record, but the priority on that should have been like a level
03:30two priority rather than the whole reason that we want to go to the stadium on Sunday
03:34is to see if we can get a sack.
03:37Jared's been a little edgy.
03:38I like it.
03:39I like it, too.
03:41Because he's on our team, got to be honest.
03:43Well, I think it's been infectious.
03:45You know, I think as opposed to Miles, who was more of a lead by example type of guy.
03:53He's just quiet.
03:53Yeah, and then nothing wrong with, I mean, come on, he was the defense player of the
03:57year and he was really good.
04:00Miles was not the same kind of a vocal catalyst that Jared Verce is.
04:06And I can only imagine what he's like in those meeting rooms and meetings and practice and
04:11everything else.
04:12I bet he gets those guys going.
04:14Even if just by example.
04:17You know, I mean, Miles led in a different way by example.
04:21Verce does another thing.
04:22And if you ask Verce in his heart of hearts, he would probably say, are you kidding me?
04:30The Rams.
04:31He's on a team that's 5-2 and the team he left is 3-4.
04:35Which team, if you had said, hey, Jared, after seven games, which one's going to be 5-2 and
04:40which one's going to be 3-4?
04:43I mean, he's got to be thrilled.
04:44And when he came here, remember he said, wasn't happy to leave.
04:48Took me a day or so.
04:49No, he wanted to tell his team in L.A. that he was leaving.
04:52And it took him a day or so to wrap his head around the fact that he was leaving a
04:55place
04:56that he liked being.
04:57And as soon as he got here, he just started saying the right things and positive things.
05:05And really throwing out thoughts about what he thought this team could do.
05:09And by golly, there it sits right now at 5-2.
05:13216-474-0092.
05:16Interesting to talk about Jared Verce there.
05:18And hear what he had to say.
05:19Is that the kind of leader we need?
05:20Is that what we want?
05:21Do we need someone that can talk smack or not care about Boldenbord and try to get his
05:26guys fired up?
05:27And getting into the grittiness of the game.
05:32Forcing quarterbacks to go one way or another.
05:36Changing and sending quarterbacks the other way so other guys can get sacks.
05:40I think Verce is what I expected.
05:43Because I didn't expect Miles Garrett.
05:46Calvin's in Cleveland.
05:47Hi, Calvin.
05:47How are you?
05:48Hey, how you doing?
05:49Good, good.
05:50What's going on?
05:51Hey, Calvin.
05:51I was just calling in about the Browns and how they've been doing this year.
05:57Go for it.
05:58What's the most impressive thing, my friend?
06:00I would say their resilience in that fourth quarter, man.
06:03You know, previous years, those would be losses automatically if we got into close games in the
06:08fourth quarter.
06:08But this year, this team has seemed to erase that pass and have been doing awesome, spectacular
06:14things offensively and defensively.
06:17You know, everybody seems to lock in and focus up a little bit more when it comes to that
06:20fourth quarter, which has helped us out tremendously.
06:24You know?
06:24So, that's what my take would be that I have seen the most impressive thing that I like
06:29to say that they have, you know, shown this year.
06:32Calvin, thank you.
06:33Appreciate it.
06:33Good job.
06:34You know, I can't argue that.
06:37I can't argue that at all.
06:38I think he's right.
06:39Like, how are they doing this?
06:40How are they pulling this off in the fourth quarter?
06:42Is it, there's something a little bit special about this team, which is fine.
06:48I think it's something that we've yearned for for a long time.
06:51Yearned?
06:51Is that the right word?
06:52That we...
06:52That's heavy.
06:53Yeah, thank you.
06:54That we've won it for a long...
06:55Like, how many times have we watched games and go, all right, maybe they got a chance
06:59to win this, and then just absolutely watch them, you know, lose it.
07:03In the fourth quarter.
07:03Yeah, lose it in the fourth quarter.
07:05Too many of those times.
07:06Dan is in Strongsville.
07:08Hey, Dan, how are you?
07:09Good.
07:09How are you guys?
07:10Good.
07:10What's going on, man?
07:11Hey, I agree with you about Jared Burst and Miles Garrett.
07:16I think, you know, losing Miles, you know, he's a Hall of Famer, but I think Jared brings
07:22so many intangibles, a leader, the vocalness that we've tried to get from Miles Garrett
07:28for years, and I think even though he doesn't have the sack numbers that Miles had, I think
07:36that those intangibles are showing up on the field, you know, I think that the pressure
07:43and everything like that comes, but I love what I'm seeing from him.
07:47I mean, yeah, sacks would be great, but I think overall our defense is why we can do these
07:53fourth quarter comebacks, is because they keep fighting.
07:56I mean, he's got, not that ego, I don't want to say that, but I think he's got that, you
08:03know, the defensive end, you know, mentality that we wanted for Miles for so long.
08:09Miss Miles, yeah, but I agree with you guys.
08:13I love our defense right now.
08:15It's fun to watch our defense.
08:16Thank you, Dan.
08:17Appreciate it.
08:18I will tell you this, Jeff.
08:19He's edgy.
08:20I like it.
08:20If Jared Verse played for the Steelers, I'd hate him.
08:23I'm not going to lie.
08:23Oh, of course you would.
08:24He's the guy that you, and by the way, that's the ultimate sign of respect.
08:28Guys that I can't stand on other teams, that drive me nuts because they talk smack, because
08:33they're arrogant, because they're just like in your face, and you're just like, I can't
08:39stand players like that.
08:40And to me, I always want that guy on my team, because you're like, oh, if he's on my team,
08:44it's okay, but if he's on your team, I can't stand him.
08:47So he is on our team, and we'll take Jared Verse, and I hope they're talking.
08:51You know they're going to be talking smack on Sunday.
08:53You know it.
08:54We're already going into it.
08:55You know what he said about them.
08:57You know what they've said about him going into this week, and it's just, it's part of
09:01the game.
09:01It's part of the battle.
09:02It's part of the fun of Brown Steelers for us, and to be happy, just like to just even
09:09be the Steelers rival, I'm good with that now, too, because for too long,
09:14I've thought the rivalry went to Baltimore.
09:17Here's a chance to bring the rivalry back, not only for the players on the field, if
09:21they care, but for the fans, more importantly.
09:23And by the way, we're the ones that are buying the tickets, right?
