00:17I was born in Los Angeles, but I am Eritrean,
00:20which is in East Africa,
00:21and I am first-generation American,
00:23which is an incredible dichotomy of two cultures.
00:25I went from seeing people that had everything
00:28and all the opportunities in the world to very little,
00:31which made me very grateful at a young age,
00:33and I also knew that I had a purpose
00:35and a cause to do something with the blessing
00:37of being the only member of my family
00:39born in the United States.
00:40I want to use that to help people
00:42where I'm from and all over the world.
00:48So my passion is being an actress and creating.
00:51My purpose was making jewelry
00:54to help women and children all over the world.
00:56My first season of Jane, I didn't sleep very much.
00:59I maybe slept two hours a night.
01:01I went to work all day,
01:02and then I spent all night answering emails and designing.
01:06Find what you're good at and attach a purpose to it.
01:08If you're helping other people
01:09and if it's something outside of you,
01:11it's gonna give you more reason to work 18, 19, 20 hours a night.

01:27Whenever I've listened to what I wanted to do with no fear,

01:42told me that there's reasons that everyone acts the way they do,

01:51but she's not all bad and she's not all good.
