00:05Hey guys I'm Hannah and this is Test Lab where we put the internet's craziest
00:09trends to the test. Today we'll be experimenting with three different dry
00:13shampoo methods. We've got our store-bought dry shampoo, the OG Johnson &
00:18Johnson's baby powder, and to make things a little bit interesting we've got a DIY
00:22dry shampoo which is made up of cocoa powder and cornstarch. Let's get started.
00:29I am so excited because I'm here with Candice who has never used dry shampoo
00:35before. Yeah, first timer. First timers and you are doing none other than the
00:41store-bought dry shampoo.
00:48Finish up. Shorts all the way through. Okay so final thoughts. How do we feel
00:56what do you think about it? Final thoughts. It felt really good going on. It
01:01definitely felt dry. It's not sticky. There's no residue. I'm not sure if there's
01:05any change in how oily it feels. I mean I hadn't washed it in a while and I think it
01:10still looks a little bit oily, but I would try it again.
01:19When was the last time you washed your hair this week? Probably three nights ago. Are
01:24there types of dry shampoos that you would gravitate towards? Not particularly. Nothing
01:29really beats drugstore-bought baby powder in my opinion. I mean what are we waiting for?
01:34Let's do this. My hair desperately needs it. So I usually just focus on the roots. Okay.
01:41And just like do a little bit on my hairline.
01:50There we go. Oh, I feel like I missed the back a little bit. I actually enjoy the smell of
01:54baby
01:55powder. I know that it probably makes me smell like a baby butt, but I'm okay with that. As amazing
02:01as
02:01this stuff is, I feel like one of the only downfalls is time. You have to really spend
02:05time, especially if you have dark hair, you have to really spend time massaging it into
02:09your scalp. Yeah. I feel like with regular dry shampoos, I'm not a fan personally, but
02:14I will say that the time getting ready is shorter. Yeah. Because you can literally just
02:19spray it like that and be good to go. I think your hair looks great. Thank you. I'm glad that
02:24this has been a tried-and-true formula for you for so long. Yes. Everyone use baby
02:29powder. I promise it works. Oh yeah, you look like a million bucks. Thank you. And
02:33you only cost 99 cents.
02:42Our third and final guest, my friend Annie Georgia Greenberg, who will be making her very
02:48own DIY dry shampoo. Some people like to know exactly what it is that they're putting in their
02:54hair. It's just these three things. That's just these three things. Yeah. I definitely put
02:58chemicals in my hair regularly. Me too. That's the difference. Okay. Do you want to do it?
03:02Yeah. What's the formula? Super simple. Same ratio of cornstarch to cocoa powder. I'm just
03:09eyeballing it. Uh-huh. And then five drops of lavender oil. One, two, three, four, five.
03:18I'm really not a really good mixer. This is kind of why I don't do DIYs because I can't stay
03:24inside the
03:25lines. I think it's good. Now for best application, they say to use a brush. Okay.
03:39I think it did absorb the grease. Would you do this again? I would definitely use dry shampoo again. I
03:44don't
03:45know if I would go through the steps of making it myself. But for anybody that, you know, wants to
03:51know what is in the products that they're using and using all natural products. And when I say it out
03:55loud like that, it really is like convincing me that I should do it again. So how does this compare
04:00to the dry shampoos you normally use? This one, the color works and it's giving me that grit. Whether
04:06or not it'll clump up or shake out later on is yet to be determined. You smell great. You look
04:14great.
04:19All in all, we've got three solid options. If you want to go to the store and buy your favorite
04:23dry
04:23shampoo, they work really great. Or if you've got five minutes to spare and there's baby powder
04:28lying around at home, that's great too. And if you're feeling a little bit crafty, you can make
04:33your own dry shampoo and it works really, really well. So there you have it. You never have to wash
04:39your hair again. Thanks so much for watching and we'll see you next time.
