00:00Ready to get your eyebrows dutched up?
00:02I am, let's go!
00:03Come right in.
00:03Oh, we went the wrong way, I went the wrong way.
00:08Hey guys, it's me Anne, and this is Beauty With Me.
00:11There are very few beauty treatments that I love so much that I would talk about it to
00:16literally anyone who will listen, and microblading is one of them.
00:20Ever since I got my eyebrows microbladed for the first time,
00:23a little over a year and a half ago, I've been incredibly thrilled with the results,
00:28namely because I can wake up in the morning with perfect eyebrows and not have to spend
00:33a ton of time filling them in with pomades and pencils and powders.
00:38For those of you who may not be familiar, microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup
00:42that inserts pigments into the upper layers of the skin.
00:46It lasts typically anywhere from one to two years before it starts fading.
00:51I noticed that my eyebrows were starting to fade a little bit about a month ago,
00:54so I decided to book an appointment with my microblader Amelia Berry at Permaline Cosmetics.
00:59Okay, on to the microblading. I went and met Amelia at her studio,
01:04where she does a lot of different forms of semi-permanent makeup
01:07and also teaches the craft to students through her training program.
01:11If you're happy with what we did before, I'm just going to refresh it.
01:17I actually really like the shape that you did.
01:19I think if anything, like maybe just adding one extra hair like right here because I feel like it's
01:25faded a little bit on this side.
01:27We got to work right away.
01:29She slapped on some numbing gel on my eyebrows and I sat tight for like 20 minutes while it seeped
01:35in.
01:35Once my brows were sufficiently numbed, Amelia wiped off the excess numbing gel and took a good hard
01:42look at my eyebrows.
01:43Now, what's kind of nice about semi-permanent makeup is that it does fade after one to two years,
01:48so you do have the option to alter and kind of change the shape or the opacity of your brows.
01:54I loved my brows so much though, I was like, Amelia, just do the exact same thing,
01:58but a little bit deeper because it had faded some.
02:01Let's double check the symmetry.
02:03You do have one eyebrow that you lift more, so it's your expression eyebrow.
02:08That one?
02:08Yes.
02:09Yeah.
02:10I like the shape, maybe like a little bit less right here.
02:12Just in the bottom.
02:20Not gonna lie, the first round of microblading hurts.
02:25It's uncomfortable, especially when Amelia was gliding the tool over my brow bone.
02:42After the first layer was done, Amelia added more numbing solution to my brows, and after that,
02:46I couldn't feel a thing.
03:07See, round two after the numbing.
03:09I'm painless.
03:32Once my brows were in a good place, Amelia wiped off the excess fluid and applied an antibiotic ointment
03:37to my eyebrows.
03:38Then she told me exactly how to take care of them and how to keep them from fading so fast.
03:44According to Amelia, everybody has a slightly different experience to microblading.
03:54But there are some external factors that can make them fade faster.
03:58One of these things is the products that you use.
04:07Because they penetrate deeper, they work very well, the problem is if it's applied to the forehead,
04:13not even on the eyebrows itself, it will migrate and find its way to the eyebrows.
04:19They will fade faster than someone that wouldn't use it at all.
04:23I basically accepted that my eyebrows will fade and I'd rather continue my skincare routine
04:29than not use it and have perfectly microbladed brows.
04:33This is how I feel about it.
04:35When it comes to aftercare, it was the exact same procedure as when I first got my eyebrows microbladed.
04:39I had to keep my eyebrows completely dry for five days.
04:42That means in the shower when you're washing your face,
04:45I used like a shower cap and wore it the other way and put it over my face.
04:49When I was washing my face, I used like a wipe and different washcloths.
04:52So there are definitely ways to do it.
04:54It's not the easiest, it's not the fastest, but it works.
04:57First they get dark, right?
05:00Because they're drying in and you're not supposed to put anything on them.
05:03Then they will get extremely light after about a week or so.
05:07And then they kind of set in and they get a little bit deeper, right?
05:10Right, so they get the light and then they oxidize in the next five, six weeks after they faded
05:16and they bloom back in by about 20, 30 percent.
05:19Got it. And I remember it was also warmer and it gets cooler too.
05:24The tone of the bowel gets cooler as it heals.
05:27Right.
05:27I like it.
05:29You can see all the hairs again.
05:30Yay.
05:32You're welcome.
05:33After the five day mark, you can start applying an ointment to it.
05:36I use the A&D ointment, which is what Amelia recommended.
05:39It is a diaper rash ointment, but it helps keep them nice and moist,
05:42helps speed up the healing.
05:43I'm actually in that process right now.
05:45So as you can see, my eyebrows are shiny and they're starting to flake a bit.
05:50I got my eyebrows microbladed at this point.
05:52It was a week ago.
05:53So the scabs that had formed are starting to peel off
05:56and I'm just keeping them nice and moist with the ointment.
05:59And I'm going to keep doing that for another five to seven days.
06:01And here we are.
06:02I will insert a photo right here to show you guys what my eyebrows look like
06:07after all the scabs have come off.
06:10According to Amelia, you don't actually see the final result
06:12of what the eyebrows are going to look like
06:14until about six weeks after your treatment.
06:16So that is it, my eyebrows.
06:18I hope that this answered any of your questions
06:21if you have been thinking about getting microbladed.
06:24I obviously love, love, love, love my microbladed eyebrows,
06:29but I will see you guys next week.
06:32Bye.
