00:00Hair is your greatest accessory and that you should have fun with it.
00:04Even if you get a bad haircut, you can get through it.
00:09Hi, I'm Alice and today I'm getting a diffused shaggy hair look with bangs.
00:14Other hairstyles I've had in the past include bleach, blonde, ombre, gone wrong.
00:21I've done the ashy gray.
00:23You name it, I've probably done it and I've most likely done it to myself so it's looked
00:27terrible.
00:28The last time I got my hair done, I think it was last year around this time.
00:35It was in the summer and I just got like a chop and then this just grew out from that.
00:39Alexa Chung has always been a big hair inspo for me.
00:43The look I want is just something that will look more effortless, better air dried, it's
00:49feeling so heavy.
00:50It's one layer right now.
00:51It's super bland and I think this will just be a fun, light, airy look.
00:57Ta-ta-da!
01:00Alice!
01:02Woo!
01:03Hi everyone.
01:04I'm Adira Abregel.
01:05Welcome to Hair Factory LA.
01:06I have been a hairstylist for almost 30 years and I think what I've learned throughout the
01:14history of doing hair is that you have to find each individual's individuality so make sure
01:22that you explore yourself.
01:24Make sure you get a lot of different haircuts because you don't know what you're going to
01:27find out about yourself and that's the beauty of hair.
01:30You have a beautiful wave that we don't even see and so I want it to come to life.
01:34I want to create this beautiful movement and you're going to look gorgeous, okay?
01:39Alright!
01:40Let's do this baby.
01:42So now we're going to start with Alice's hair.
01:44It's dry, right?
01:45So we're going to take it and separate it into three different sections.
01:50Now that we created the right perimeter and the right length, you're going to take the
01:55hair and you're going to create some layers that have some movement and you want to make
02:00sure that you go around the front and create bangs that are almost wrapping around your
02:06face.
02:07You throw your hair up, you have all of these beautiful layers.
02:13I'm really kind of hoping for that 70s shaggy vibe.
02:18I feel like this new haircut will affect my mood, it'll get me more excited to just wake
02:24up and have a different look.
02:28The diffuse shaggy hair is something that has been iconic during the 70s and a lot of
02:35the time during that period people used to cut their own hair and so that's why it was
02:40highly layered.
02:41I knew immediately when I met Alice and I saw her texture that her hair was going to fly
02:48and explode with all of this beautiful natural texture.
02:52It's about freedom.
02:54It's about not caring.
02:55It's about living in the moment and letting your hair do what it wants to do.
03:00The way I style my hair and the effort I put into it I feel like kind of reflects what
03:05I'm feeling so it's just another extension of me.
03:10I used a few different products by Virtue.
03:12The first one that I used is the unfrizz cream and I loved mixing that with the healing oil.
03:18You want to make sure that you use it almost like hand cream and always start in the back
03:22and then move to the front.
03:24And then the final product that I ended up using is a moisture defining whip which is all about
03:29celebrating your natural texture.
03:38and then the final product that I used to do.
03:38Okay, keep your eyes closed and open your eyes.
03:42Okay, oh my god.
03:46Oh my god.
03:46I didn't know my hair could do it.
03:49And the best, babe.
03:50The best.
04:02You can kind of just take your hair, throw it up into like a simple chignon like that.
04:08Wow.
04:08So sexy on you.
04:10You're welcome, baby.
04:11I love it.
04:12I love you.
04:12I love you.
04:14I love you.
04:15I love you.
04:17I am so obsessed with my new hair.
04:20I feel like it's 70s, hair queen, cool girl dreams, achieved.
04:25Like it's been so hidden under all those long layers.
04:29I can't wait to drive home, put my windows down, put some music on, shake my hair, feel
04:34how light and breezy it is.
04:36Working with Alice was awesome.
04:38I know that she was a little bit nervous that it was going to look a little bit more like
04:41a mullet.
04:42I understood that she shouldn't have straight across thing.
04:46I wanted it to feel more of a modern shag and we achieved it and she looked absolutely
04:52gorgeous.
04:52This look definitely boosted my confidence.
04:56Heat Wave who?
04:57Alexa Chung who?
04:59Scoot over.
05:00Scoochie, scoochie.
05:01There's a new 70s girl in town and she's feeling good.
