We wish we could keep makeup pro James Vincent in our pocket for hourly confidence boosts. He thinks we're great just the way we are, and he sees what we consider our flaws as opportunities to enhance our natural features — not to hide behind pounds of caked makeup.

So, when it came to tackling our dark circles, we knew he was the man for the job. Instead of piling on layer upon layer of thick, crease-prone concealer, he taught us the power of color correction and strategically placed luminizer. James, where have you been all our lives?!

00:06Cheese. Yeah, that's approved. I like that. Yeah, that's a good one. I'll post that.
00:13I went out last night. Sorry, not sorry, but now I have to go to work and I need some
00:18under
00:18eye concealer like yesterday. While I'm not always about hiding things with my makeup,
00:23I want to show you a few tricks that can help you use concealer to brighten and maybe look
00:28more white. Great. I'm going to use a sheer peach shade and mix it in with some moisturizer and I'm
00:35going to put that right in the area where you've got some blue. Anything in the orange or coral
00:40family will cut that blue. A lot of women are convinced that they only need one shade with
00:45concealer, but for me it's about mixing shades together. So you might want to consider a palette
00:50that has a three pour with three different shades or a pro palette that has a five color option.
00:57You might not need all of them, but it's a great way to kind of blend and combine.
01:01I prefer a pro palette, all of the shades you need in one place. The next shade that I'm going
01:05to use is kind of a medium tone. And again, only in the area where there's discoloration and you're
01:10kind of pulling it down in a V shape. Next, we're going in with a lighter color and the lighter
01:17color
01:17is just going to brighten all of that up. And I'm bringing that right under the eye and then to
01:22the
01:23highest point of the cheekbone. And that's really going to give us a lift and life. My other trick,
01:28I'm going to take that same brush in that lighter shade and just bring it onto all of the high
01:32points of the face. So that way, in a photograph or even in real life, it looks all like one
01:38shade
01:39of skin instead of like you're wearing concealer in one obvious area. I want you to take a look.
01:45Okay. I know you, so I know you don't like to wear a lot of makeup. I don't really. So
01:49let me know
01:50what you think of this. Okay. You know what, James? I know that you don't like concealer,
01:54but it's pretty magical what you've done here. A next little trick, if you want to really distract
01:59from the area, take in a bit of shimmer. Shimmer at the highest point of the cheekbone is a great
02:05way
02:06to bring in some gold and really deflect from under eye discoloration, especially if you're feeling
02:12tired, it's a great way to give lift and life. I love this. I think we are ready to go
02:18back out
02:18on the town tonight. I think so too. I feel ready. Um, I just think it's like you said,
02:22like, is this makeup selfie approved? Do you want to just give it a quick test? Well, I think we
02:26should.
02:26We're gorgeous in selfies. No duck faces. That's good. I like that. I like that too. No duck faces.
02:32No duck faces. It's not the duck anymore. It's the sparrow. I'm not cool. I don't know what that is.
02:36Me neither.
02:36Okay. Okay.
02:43We'll see you next time.
