00:14using here's your spooky spot on the brand new funko pop doodles trick-or-treat sam
00:37the funko pop doodles collection reimagines iconic horror villains in a playful minimalist
00:42aesthetic designed to look like sketchy children's drawings the sam figure stands approximately four
00:46inches tall and captures his signature burlap sack mask and orange pajamas with a distinct
00:51hand-drawn black and white sketch line pattern overlay just the other day i was trying to draw
00:56sam myself and i was drawing him with square eyes i wish somebody had been there at the time to

01:00was doing it wrong way wrong way wrong way before though we get a close look at the new funko

01:08doodles sam from trick-or-treats let's take the tape measure and see how tall the figure's going to stand
01:12i realize how bad that was hopefully though sam isn't as bad as my joke for how tall the figure's
01:18going to stand you're looking at him roughly being about three and three quarters of an inch that's
01:22going to translate to a figure that's a little over nine centimeters tall i guess the whole point
01:26really of the funko pop doodles is the fact that they're supposed to look like somebody drew them
01:29the wrong way here's what sam looks like with jason universe hold on a second jason universe's jason

01:41have still the saws billy the puppet and actually you know what in fact i'll just move him over a

01:46bit because i happen to also have a spirit halloween exclusive this would be the flocked trick-or-treats
01:52sam you can see what the figure looks like with him because i've done this before i'm going to
01:56bring in the box that comes in clue with sam very crude image there of sam on the side someone

02:01no artistic flair whatsoever have tried their best this might just look like what my sam would look
02:05like although mine would have square eyes wrong way he also has the lollipop in his hand you'll notice
02:11though that the lollipop hasn't had a bite taken out of it and yet the vinyl actually has that
02:15the back of the box uh for reals this doesn't actually have real taped on signs even though it kind
02:21of
02:21looks like hey you're you're lying aren't you no i would never fib you at all don't call me a
02:25fibber face this actually has not been really taped on that's just the way they've actually printed
02:30the box and if somebody did decide who did have probably better artistic flair than me decide to
02:35draw their sam without the burlap sack i would have a good idea that that's probably what the face
02:39would look like let's move the box out of the way actually you know what though before we move
02:43the box out of the way there is one thing a talking point that i wanted to mention after all
02:47this is something that we would generally do in reviews anyways talk about the things i like
02:51talk and discuss about the things maybe i don't like the thing i don't really like and you probably
02:55can even see it for yourself why is sam's pajamas so bright and orange in the kids drawing of him
03:02and yet so very faded when we actually get the vinyl of him it is really the one thing i
03:07don't really
03:07care about when it comes to this vinyl if not for that i think all the rest of it looks

03:12really quite cool going back though to the idea that he's bitten off his lollipop i like the face
03:19even looks as crude as the rest of the character um even though despite really the fact that i guess
03:24if you had bit this off i don't want to like nickel and dime the details but i would feel
03:27like the eye
03:28would be completely gone a child has realized though that there probably would have been a bite in there
03:33and decided to kind of shift relocate everything a little further over that's a smart child now again he i
03:40don't know really how he would have bitten this considering his mask is still fully intact
03:44despite me thinking that sam would have had square eyes i really honestly didn't don't don't let me
03:48know down below in the comment section that he has actually circular eyes i know it was really part
03:53of my shtick the shtick being also when it comes to the funko pop doodles is that they're supposed to
03:58look crude they're supposed to look rough and he certainly has that one thing i do like though is
04:03that even like the little stitch marks that they have across the buttons of his eyes even are lopsided
04:08this one looks like it's done a better job of sewing this looks like somebody has still tried
04:12to sew but they probably sewed with their eyes closed like the little lines that he has it seems
04:17like he's very angry too maybe he's seen the girl blowing out the jack-o'-lantern i think if one

04:23could be broken when it comes to my own halloween rules i blow out jack-o'-lanterns really early on
04:28to the night when i feel like it's time we're kind of looking at kind of the watch you're thinking
04:33yourself you know i want to get in at least a horror movie or two tonight i would probably preempt
04:39that by going outside and blowing out the jack-o'-lantern a little tad too early i probably should have
04:46maybe not said it in front of sam but yeah that is the probably the one trick-or-treating rule

04:50i do break early and that's actually blowing out the jack-o'-lantern just so that i let everybody
04:54know in the neighborhood at least when it comes to kids i would hope probably that's not gonna be
04:58teenagers or people in their 20s going door to door but it lets generally everybody know that's
05:03the rule that tells people we're done for the night we're packing up shop don't throw eggs at our
05:08house what were we talking about oh and the burlap sack does again have a very nice crudeness to it

05:15like that they put little stitch lines on there it actually kind of reminds me of that charlie brown
05:19character pig pen pig pen could you also imagine if there was the great pumpkin charlie brown in the
05:25funko pop doodles style i feel like it would probably look very similar to this again i really
05:30like the lines on that those lines by the way are carved into the vinyl those just aren't those haven't
05:36just been haphazardly scribbled in there i like also the back of that that looks also good too
05:42despite also being something that's very roughly drawn somebody has at least known that the details
05:47on sam involve actually having a little cord at the bottom to keep the burlap sack on his body
05:51the patches look good too those look also let they're lifted speaking of burlap sacks he's also
05:57carrying around his own it looks generally clean so he hasn't been dragging around too much in the
06:01mud i'm not sure really what's going on here with this one foot this foot doesn't look so bad but
06:07this
06:07actually looks like he stepped on a flaming paper bag which if you blow out your candle early somebody
06:13might end just end up leaving a flaming paper bag at your doorstep i would not recommend if you already
06:18know how that ends up happening don't step down don't put your foot down on a flaming bag it's
06:23probably going to be filled with poop there is posability on sam although it's really stiff on
06:29this figure now i've learned my lesson from the previous figures that there is technically posability
06:33although oh you know what i can't get it to budge wouldn't you know it now that i've realized that
06:40all the other three funko pop figures have all had posability in their head maybe sam is the exception to
06:45that rule so again like normally i guess he would have posability maybe it just is the fact that
06:51because the way he's designed he breaks the cardinal rule that he just can't have posability in his head
06:56because there's so much more going on down below here yeah i overall really like the look though
07:01of sam the one thing i just don't like my takeaway from this because again this is going to be
07:05my own
07:06review of him i just wish like the color of his pajamas even if they were closer to the color
07:11of this
07:11and that might have been why funko chose not to have it as bright of an orange so it wasn't
07:16conflicting oranges so much orange is being drawn away from his pajamas making you look then at his
07:21at his lollipop maybe that's one reason why they chose not to have the exact same oranges on both
07:26for though the rest of the funko pop figures let's bring them all back in right now again here's what
07:32looks like with billy the puppet uh jason and here's also what he looks like with art the clown now

07:39also mention when we looked at the other funko pop doodle figures some of them have a little
07:43harder time to stand uh jason and art seem to be really the hardest one to probably stand just
07:49because again like the way they've designed these are they're sidestepping why do we really feel a
07:53need to sidestep and yes they do have possibility in their head so don't please call me a liar i
07:58don't
07:58know again why they had to choose to make them sidesteppers like this jason seems to have a harder
08:03time to stand i think art probably is the hardest one to stand sam's not so bad he's already being
08:08he's already stuck down on a paper bag oh there had to be like dog poop inside of that
08:14uh and then of course billy the puppy doesn't have that problem at all he's the only funko doodles
08:18that hasn't had uh well he's he's already got a display stand even though again like there's no
08:23way at all he's going to be able to ride around with that melted down tricycle wheel
08:27i love again like the look of these characters i think the one thing at one thing that could have
08:31maybe made sam a better looking funko vinyl had had they only changed the color i mean again like
08:37you have sort of the drawing to work from here whether again somebody at funko designed that
08:41themselves or they gave it maybe just to a kid maybe somebody that is the son or the daughter
08:45that works uh one of the parents again work at funko maybe they just said to hey billy hey
08:49shirley who calls their kids shirley anymore could you go maybe and draw what sam would look like in
08:55your mind and maybe they had to look at source material maybe they're just talented and smart enough
09:00kids that love horror they just happen to know what sam looks like without even having to look at
09:03source material but you know again like taking that as a cue i really again wish that the colors
09:09were a little bit brighter on his on his pajamas again to bring back in the flocked version of sam
09:13i feel like he should have looked a little bit more like this and a little less like this now

09:18funko pop doodles that i would like to see funko approach next would be a ghost face
09:22a captain spaulding and a freddie krueger could you imagine what those butter knives would look
09:27like if it looked like a four-year-old was drawing them my daughter by the way draws an
09:31exceptional freddie krueger i drew a freddie krueger once and it looked like crap these don't
09:36look like crap or i guess more it's subjective than anything else you may look at these and think
09:40to yourself well i collect funko pops already but this isn't really my wheelhouse i would generally
09:45like to collect something that looks a little bit more like a funko pop doodle not looking like
09:49something that started to melt in the sun there's one thing though about sam is that his one foot does
09:54look like it's melted just a little bit but that's the weirdness of the funko pop doodles and probably
09:59one of the reasons why i like this line so much so far the one thing again i would only

10:04that maybe could have improved sam is changing the color of his pajamas to be a much brighter orange
10:09but shy of that though i think everything else about the figure looks really good again i tried
10:14to turn the head i can't get it to budge again out of maybe the four figures that we've gotten
