00:45dead 3.75 inch action figure series wave one's six figure set it brings the iconic characters from
00:51the landmark film night of the living dead to life with an innovative twist each figure can be
00:55customized from a retro five-point articulated figure with an advanced 14 point action figure
01:00simply by swamping out the arms and legs providing the flexibility to recreate scenes in both the
01:04classic and modern styles just think johnny was fighting off a zombie that was attacking his
01:09sister and he banged his noggin on a headstone how's that for irony before though we get a closer look
01:14a spooky look at the retro night of the living dead johnny first i'd like to also thank the folks
01:18over
01:18at zola world that were kind enough to provide not only the sample of barbara but now her brother
01:23johnny as well these were available on their site at one point you could get the entire set of six
01:28plus
01:29the farmhouse plus some additional stickers for 199 dollars and 99 cents hate to though be the bear of
01:34the bad news with the brains but unfortunately though the set has sold out we can only though hope that
01:40was zola world world seeing though how much demand there is to getting these figures that they may
01:45release the figures again for how tall johnny's going to be though tape measures telling me he's not
01:50quite four but he's a lot more than three and a half i clocked this guy at about three point
01:56maybe
01:56three point seven five which matches really the description online that's going to also work out
02:00to be a figure that's nine and a half centimeters tall yeah picked off by a zombie in a cemetery
02:05that's
02:05got to really suck but then again really he was baiting the zombie in the first place and teasing
02:10his poor sister in the process here's what johnny looks like by the way compared along with his
02:14sister barbara i know i had already showed you the packaging and came included with barbara but
02:18we'll do the same for johnny's as well classic looking artwork uh including as well the girl that
02:22made a lot a lot of really the appearances on the physical media release of night of the living dead
02:26because again it was public domain by now they never really copyrighted the movie at all it gave
02:31really a chance for a lot of people to re-release night of the living dead and a lot of
02:35times it usually
02:36was this girl that was featured on the front the back of the card does give all six characters a
02:41time to shine of course johnny and barbara we're going to be looking at already graveyard ghoul ben
02:45hospital gown ghoul and karen cooper combining then all six characters gives you a chance to build the
02:51creator george a romero himself let's move that aside speaking of those accessories by the way i happen
02:56to have a whole bunch of them in the bag having already dealt with the territory covered the territory
03:01when it came to barbara i kind of have some idea of what to expect now so with these figures
03:05you're
03:05going to be getting yourself some swappable arms and swappable legs for johnny in that too you also
03:11get a camera now that's not going to be for johnny obviously that's going to be for george a romero
03:18it's unfortunate though by just the way that i'm looking at these oh and also you get yourself a
03:22pistol too it's a shame really by the way that i'm looking at these characters that i know i'm not
03:27going to be able to finish the the entire set of building george um i will be able to at
03:32least show
03:32you guys that it looks like with johnny let's just dump all the contents out here it looks like the
03:38only really thing that he comes include for george is actually his arm so right now i've got george's
03:44head romero's head is inside the bag and i've got myself my arm so i'll probably do to keep everything
03:50together just so i don't end up losing anything and of course when we also look at karen i'm hoping
03:57that we're going to make some progress if i can get at the very least a torso i haven't honestly
04:01looked at the accessories that come include with karen you also get some legs open up the bag for
04:06that too dump out the legs and again we've already kind of done this with barbara so i know something
04:12to expect now when it comes to johnny johnny's legs gives you first the option to swap them out so
04:17if
04:18you like like the retro figures that aren't going to have as much posability standard i wouldn't really
04:22want to even say standard posability because generally you would get like just a swivel in the
04:26head right swiveled arms swiveled legs with these at least even before you start to swap anything out
04:32tommy already has out the gates a ball joint in his head he has also hinges in his arms so
04:37right there
04:37they already are more posable than your 80s figures this i would imagine you probably would have to take
04:42the jacket off obviously to change and you know swap out the arms the legs would be easier i think
04:47you'd just be able to pop those off now for me when it comes to these on display i rather
04:53would much
04:54rather have these actually with posability in their arms and posability in their legs so i do
04:58like though that zolo world includes now again these are a little bit more expensive figures if
05:02you i think were to buy them separately to be over 30 a piece but you really again have to
05:06factor in
05:07some additional engineering that they did include extra arms extra legs with additional posability
05:12points uh to change out the arms i guess for that should we maybe look at johnny first you know

05:18gotta say i really liked barbara i think i like johnny a little bit more though there's something
05:22really about his glasses i really like them a lot it's weird though when you look at from the side
05:28it looks like his eyeballs are bulging out now they obviously had done that for just a precautionary
05:34measure just to ensure though that the glasses had they been loose you know again like if you put them
05:39over top of his face i would feel like they would probably be more risky of breaking because again
05:44there wouldn't be attached to anything now one side does look like it's a little bit darker
05:48than this side here i don't know if maybe they missed not painting this because it definitely
05:53looks a little bit better i think on this side just adding a little bit more of a gray this
05:57side
05:57doesn't have that so again it looks like he's got one big large bulb bulging eye face sculpt looks
06:03good on this again he's got some decent posability he's got the shirt and tie and in this case like
06:08with barbara had the dress johnny actually has a fabric jacket so looks to me like we're gonna
06:14probably have to take this off in order to swap out the arms so much like undressing you know
06:20undressing yourself obviously you're just gonna be undressing a slightly smaller version of yourself
06:24just take off the jacket that seemed pretty easy enough yep so again like just without not even
06:29changing out the arms you already have posability in the shoulders nothing at all in the hands nothing
06:35really yet in the elbows or in the knees but we're going to make short work of that in a
06:39second
06:39we're just going to take off these arms swap them out with these ones and do the same things with
06:44the legs the arms just kind of wiggle them back and forth there now we know with the legs they
06:51pop
06:51on by pegs those might actually be the easier ones to change these arms though you're going to have to
06:56swivel back and forth take the peg and pop it off the off the torso and maybe what we'll do
07:02is we'll
07:02do these one at a time so there's the new arm and oh actually too it's got supposedly in the
07:07hands
07:08the arm that we just removed looks like maybe there's a little bit of a swivel but certainly
07:13not to the extent of what we're getting with the new arm we're just going to bring the hinge down
07:18where that storms you would think really by now the storm has settled yet some somehow for these
07:24reviews they still still continues to come down outside we're going to pop out the other arm
07:31probably should not have eaten all that buttery popcorn before i did this review there we go pop
07:35that out where's the arm that has the hinge right there so we're going to want to bend this down
07:40first pop that back in place now one thing i did notice with johnny and i didn't notice it obviously
07:47with barbara because we weren't undressing her because he has the black jacket over top there is
07:51a little bit of a stain as you can see that started to appear on the back of his body
07:55i don't see that
07:56there's anything here on the front but again like for me i'm only just going to put the jacket back

08:02him anyways maybe what i'll also do too is pop off his legs his legs are a lot easier because
08:07they're
08:08only just going to be attached by pegs so there's one and where's the other leg i want to make
08:14sure
08:14i've got these facing the right way johnny does also look like he's got a peg hole on the bottom

08:19his feet these figures don't come with display stands but i guess if they did they probably would
08:25have to use display stands with a much larger much smaller peg because obviously these legs are going
08:30to be a little bit smaller that's one leg so that's already a knee bend the other knee never
08:35had that and we'll pop this one off too get ourselves the right knee get the right leg with
08:43the right knee and we'll pop that in place now this already feels like it's easier than what we
08:48were doing with barbara because again like barbara had the dress i want to keep things somewhat decent
08:54as well there we go is it on there i think it's on there so now johnny's got not just
09:00swivels back
09:01and forth but he does also have bends in his knees bends now on his elbows to finish the look
09:06move
09:07everything out of the way here we'll get his jacket back in place jacket looks good too i think they've
09:11done a nice job of stitching the inside of it slide up the arms slide up the arms
09:21yeah i think the jacket overall is pretty good it's got a little again of that staining on the
09:25back but if you have plans to do what i'm doing right now i don't think it's really going to
09:29bother
09:29you all that much now he does also come in clue with a pistol i don't know if the pistol
09:34really does
09:34belong to him it doesn't really sit all that securely in his hand in fact it actually does look
09:40like it's just going to fall out the moment i start to move things around but at least he does
09:45come in clue with a weapon um barbara also did come in clue with a knife as well i didn't
09:50end up
09:50putting the knife in her hand just because again like it was it didn't seem like it was staying
09:53well in place uh because again also these figures did i mention the fact i don't think i did this
09:59with
09:59barbara yeah barbara's also got a waist swivel there too so for the posability on johnny we've already
10:06kind of looked at his head a little bit here again really like the face just again aside from that
10:10little bit of extra unpainted plastic on the side of his face i think overall again like johnny does
10:15look good head's going to be in a ball joint for johnny normally i would have been able to say
10:20that
10:20the arms would rotate all the way around but now with the jacket now in place it's not going to
10:24be
10:25as easy to turn things around just because again like the jacket's going to get a little bit bunched
10:29up the arms still easily hinge out no issues really there now he's also got the benefit of a
10:33bend in his elbow do i have it going the right way i think i had it going the wrong
10:36way
10:36there we go bend at the elbow that allows also the forearm to rotate you can hinge now also too
10:43and i i'd already said this it does look like there's a hinge on the hands and you can turn
10:47them back and forth the other original hand that's not even i mean it moves just only a little bit
10:54but
10:54i don't know if that's just the way it's been assembled this arm that's now new hand does seem
10:59like it has a hinge back and forth you can also turn it as well waist swivel nothing really in
11:04the legs
11:04so that's the one thing that these figures don't have is they don't have hinges in their legs
11:08legs still go forward and back though bend the knee lower leg does rotate there too and he does
11:14also have some pretty good posability in the feet as well uh i know we're really closer to building
11:20george uh unfortunately though the only thing i really have again is the head from barbara which
11:25was again just seems just seems wrong the fact that i've got george romero's head inside of a bag
11:31and then i've also got now one arm uh again i would have to look at karen karen's right over
11:38there uh i don't think she come maybe she comes with the torso i don't think she does though
11:42so unfortunately i don't know how close i'll be to actually building the creator of night of the
11:46living dead but still though i really like the look of these figures you know again like it's it's a
11:51shame really that they sold out on their site they were selling again for 199 that just didn't give
11:56you the six figures that also gave you again the the farmstead uh diorama that also gave you to some
12:02additional stickers they're good figures they're a little on the more expensive side but you know
12:07again like if you are collecting stuff most retro figures nowadays anyways like a lot of the stuff we
12:12were getting from super seven you can still go to stores and find retro reaction figures and
12:17they're alone they're setting you back 26 27 these benefit at least from not just having good looking
12:23sculpts fabric outfits which is not something you tend to get really with small figures like this
12:27but you then you also get the options of swapping out limbs how many times has there been small figures
12:33like this especially for horror where you've been able to pop limbs and swap the limbs out for ones
12:37that have some additional possibility i can't think of really many zola world is doing a great job so far
12:42with what we're looking at for the night of the living dead i was just looking at the packaging for
12:45karen cooper also sent over from zola world she's also the girl that's usually featured on the front of
12:50physical media of night of the living dead she seems only to come include with the other arm for
12:54george so unfortunately though while he's not disarmed he is certainly missing his torso there's
13:00no real place to attach his shoulders nor his head so i'm going to have some floating parts of
13:04george romero sitting inside of a ziploc bag maybe i'm going to see if i can try to get my
13:08hands on
13:09the other remaining figures the graveyard ghoul uh ben hospital gown ghoul and then with those other
13:15three figures i can finally put together george a romero i i just i hate to like leave a project
13:21unfinished i will say though there's nothing that's unfinished about these figures maybe the only
13:26thing i could say about johnny is that the side of his glasses you can see though like there wasn't
13:31paint unfortunately added to the sides where his glasses would be aside from that though i really
13:36think that zola world's done a great job on these night of the living dead figures including first of
13:40all some swappable limbs so you can either go from the five point articulated figures and even then
13:45even then to say classic retro and i'm doing bunny ears for that right now to say retro figures and
13:51saying five points of articulation even if you choose not to swap out the limbs for ones that
13:55have better arms or better elbows and better knees those arms still hinge out old retro figures
14:01couldn't do that he also has a ball joint in the head retro figures couldn't do that either
14:05so right out the gate before you stop start to swap anything around on them you already have a lot
14:10more possibility than even the original figures would have had in the first place
14:14popping out the arms seems to be easy enough i find really between the limbs the legs are a lot
14:19easier because they're only just gonna be attaching onto the pegs the arms you have to work a little
14:22harder with now i struggle a little bit more because i didn't take the time to heat these up
14:26i would probably say if you are worried about them with having such small pegs after all maybe heat
14:32them up first obviously take the jacket off for johnny you don't want to be heating it with the jacket
14:36on
14:36him but yeah maybe heat it first before you pop it off changing in the arms changing in the legs
14:41gives him additional posability i think it goes from 5 to 14 and 14 is not bad at all for
14:46a figure
14:47this size a big thank you again to the folks over at zolo world that provided the new samples of

14:52night of the living dead retro figures we just looked at barbara we now looked at johnny and one of
14:57the
14:57upcoming reviews as well as during spottober we're also going to be looking at karen cooper as well i
15:01don't know about you guys whenever i would see karen cooper featured in any publicity or marketing for
15:07the face on her just always freaked me out so i i can't ensure that i'm not gonna be freaked
