00:28season same old same old how about you all good yeah looking forward to seeing the Browns this
00:33will be the third time that I see them which which helps as a play-by-play guy and uh

00:38time I saw him was that thrilling win in Tennessee and we'll see what they've got in store for us

00:43Sunday yeah I mean I you know you got to feel as a as a play-by-play guy I
00:48know you're I don't know
00:49do you guys care about whether or not there's a lot of juice attached to certain games and what
00:53this brings especially with the Shador element of this where there's a lot of people that'll be
00:57watching just exclusively for Shador yeah no I mean I think that's certainly an interesting angle I
01:02don't you know for me I'm just happy to do whatever game they assign me to but I think when
01:07you look at
01:07this game um certainly with Shador now I was there last year when he came in against Baltimore I believe
01:13when when Gabriel got the concussion but you know I'm looking forward to talking with him I haven't
01:18spoke with him before assuming he's the guy I assume he'd be the guy that we'd meet with in our
01:23production meeting I know there's still some time to figure out who it's going to be but it definitely
01:27seems like it's headed that way and yeah I think there'll be more eyeballs on it but for me I'm
01:31just
01:31excited to get down there and uh and hopefully have a good close game now Andrew my my partner's a
01:36big
01:36supporter of Shador I'm actually pretty I feel like I've strongly supported Shador but I also have said a
01:44couple critical things so I have known both the love and the wrath of Shador's supporters as I call them
01:50supporters I'm curious because I don't know how terminally online you are and I also don't know
01:56what it's like is is more of a play-by-play guy uh have you come in contact with supporters

02:02Shador hive the shahive as it were and have you enjoyed those experiences you know I haven't come in
02:11with the uh that's a great term by the way um I haven't come in contact with them yet um
02:17you know I
02:17look I just call the game like you know when when Deshaun had that game-winning comeback against
02:24uh Tennessee all I'm thinking about is calling the game and what Deshaun is doing in that moment and
02:30the same is true for Shador I know that he is a polarizing person I was at the feds I
02:35told you guys
02:36last time I was in the building for the preseason game against the Bills when everybody booed Watson and
02:41I walked out of there and thought it would probably be Shador's time to start obviously that didn't happen
02:46uh but when it comes to the game time in terms of the the talk radio stuff the social media
02:51stuff
02:52which is strong I tune all that out I'm just calling the game I mean that's what people want
02:56I mean all week you guys have a field day and that's awesome and I listen to it but trust
03:01me I
03:01listen to it I love it but I think in my opinion come Sunday people just want to watch football
03:06and
03:06that's what I'm there to do all right from a football perspective then it's going to be different
03:10than the last time you saw Shador obviously it was a Kevin Stefanski led team and didn't have
03:15Concepcion didn't have Boston how different do you expect Shador to look if at all from one year
03:21to the next yeah I mean I think that you know the hardest thing and it's been talked about at
03:25length
03:26the last couple of days is just the lack of reps that a backup QB gets during uh the regular
03:32season
03:33I know they have hungry dogs and I know that you know that they've been trying to do extra walkthroughs
03:38and such but you know I think that this is really the first time that we really can see him
03:42as Todd
03:42Munkin and everyone has said let it rip and I think there is a curiosity to that I mean Shador
03:48himself said yesterday that he's matured he saw that you know what he you know needed to improve
03:53upon in the offseason and attack that well so he's saying the right things in that regard but I think
03:58until we come out and kick it off on Sunday we don't really know how much better or how much
04:03improved
04:04or how much different he's going to look like but that's why we tune in. Andrew why do you think
04:09Todd
04:09Munkin has been able to hit the ground running and get five wins in the first eight games when
04:14that was the high water mark in the two previous seasons? Yeah I mean he's definitely in the running
04:20for coach of the year in my opinion um I don't think a lot of people especially after week one
04:25saw this coming um you know in my interactions with him and I think that you guys see it when
04:30he
04:30goes to the podium and he's a straight shooter I mean there's nothing um there's no element of
04:37mystery with Todd Munkin he's telling you what he feels and my guess is that he's the same exact
04:43direct way with the team and I think that's working um you know he's he's not afraid of
04:48anything he attacks everything head-on um this is his shot I mean he as you guys know he said
04:54it like
04:54he waited his whole life to be an NFL head coach this is his chance he's working his butt off
04:58and I
04:59really love his approach um I really think that he's very candid he's very honest he's refreshing
05:04when he does these interviews he'll throw in a curse word here or there I mean he's just who he
05:09is and he's not anyone different and I think the team has rallied around that responded to that and
05:14we're seeing that with the five and three record uh what can you tell us about the Saints as you
05:19get
05:19ready for obviously the other side of this and we're trying to figure out some people in Vegas is
05:23one that tries to tell us the Saints team is much better than maybe what their record suggests
05:28yeah I'm coming off a bye that always would worry me from a you know an opponent perspective
05:32they've had a little extra time you know I think the big thing for them is are they going to
05:36get
05:36this Jordan Tyson kid to play um you know he's been out all year with the hamstring injury returned to
05:43practice yesterday by all reports he's flying around I mean you look at this team with Tyson and Olave
05:49and even Devon Vele and you know they can they can throw the ball I mean I saw Tyler Shook
05:54a bunch last
05:55year I think he's a really good quarterback I mean he's not scared he'll step up he'll make the big
05:59throw
05:59you know the big question for the Saints is the run game and obviously that's been the the Browns
06:04bugaboo defensively especially the last couple of weeks I don't know where New Orleans is gonna
06:09try to run the ball obviously they signed Estime this week after the Browns let him go so you know
06:14that's how that's where they're at uh and it's no disrespect to Estime but they just don't have
06:19anything going in their run game they fired their run game coordinator this week it's the first time
06:24Kellen Moore has fired an assistant coach since he took over so I mean they have their issues but I
06:29think
06:29that you know they want to be the team that can run the football and then do play action off
06:35that
06:35and look deep down the field for Tyson if he plays Olave and Vele it's not a bad team um
06:40and I think
06:41it's going to be a close game it's interesting you're you're talking about uh the Browns run defense
06:46I know that the Saints have uh trouble stopping the run as well both offenses have trouble running the ball
06:53and neither team is any good in the first quarter there is such an element of Spider-Man
07:00Spider-Man Spider-Man versus Spider-Man meme here and yet one team has five wins and the others
07:05doesn't I I don't think anyone could be any more confused about this matchup Andrew yeah I mean the
07:11first quarter is just so drastic I mean we know the Browns outscored 65 to 13 but the Saints have
07:18been
07:18outscored 44 to 6 they've only scored six points in the first quarter this year they have not scored
07:25at all on their opening drives um and you know the Browns fans have seen that how you know digging
07:31out
07:31of a hole and they figured out ways to win in the end a lot of the times not all
07:35the time and the
07:36Saints haven't done that I mean they just they they haven't been able to dig out of these holes
07:40they've blown some big leads they nearly coughed it up against the Giants they did blow it against
07:45Las Vegas you know they had that wild week one game against the Lions where they went for two in
07:51overtime and the wind came up short you know for the most part they're not really getting blown out
07:56in their games they're just a younger team with a young head coach who hasn't really figured out a
08:00way to finish games but as I said I saw this team four times last year and you can kind
08:05of see that
08:06the culture that Kellen Moore is looking for and and how Tyler Shuck is taking some steps forward so
08:12you know you mentioned the the Vegas line and I think it's a pretty evenly matched game that the
08:17difference this year is the Browns have figured out ways to finish games and the Saints have not
08:21all right correct me if I'm wrong your two games this year Jets game and the Titans game right yes
08:26all right so that's Braylon Allen going for a million yards and that's Tony Power going for a million yards
08:32uh the theme seems to be that it is for such a good defense the run defense has allowed these
08:37these
08:38pretty good running backs to kind of take off here is that been surprising as you guys are are doing
08:42these games and have watched now in the previous month or so as this Rutenberg defense is showing
08:47some weaknesses do you think it's because the Browns sell out too much to stop the run in certain
08:52instances or what are you guys thinking there yeah I mean I've read all the the quotes and the articles
08:58about the trap runs and what Pittsburgh did last week and you know I think that um it was really
09:04interesting talking and we I think we mentioned this on the broadcast when we did the Titans game
09:08that Robert Sala is such a huge fan of Mike Rutenberg and how that all went down where
09:14Sala told Rutenberg that he was going to hire him to be the defensive coordinator for him
09:18and then Gus Bradley became available who's like a second father for Sala so he had to hire Gus
09:24and then it was Sala who kind of told Todd hey you should look at this guy so look it's
09:29his first year as a
09:30defensive coordinator but the way that people talk about him it's he's a bright guy and I think
09:36he's going to figure it out there's no doubt it's not working right now and and I don't have the
09:41x's
09:41and o's to to tell him how to fix it I'm sure if he did he would do it but
09:45there's certainly something
09:46that needs to change because the last couple of games on the ground have not been pretty
09:51Andrew the Saints are wearing their all gold unis in the black helmet uh which I I actually think
09:57would be a cool cool thing here and I know you try and stay neutral here can we just both

10:03that's not gold that's more of like a beige yeah that's a good call I'll give you that the only
10:09thing I care about is the numbers and I so I can read them and I did see that they're
10:14black numbers
10:15which I think will help me so beige gold I'm good there as long as the numbers aren't beige or

10:23then then I'd have a big problem all right Andrew so now you got to know when you when you're
10:26on the
10:27broadcast and you're you're calling everyone a supporter and then you're also differentiating
10:31between the the uniforms that's Nick Wilson and Jonathan Peterlin afternoon drive but you gotta
10:36put Nick's name first it's his ideas and also forget afternoon drive just Nick yeah that's fine
