00:00Basketball, doing a lot of the little things to create this league.
00:03It's great to have you with us here on TNT Sports for the 2026 FIBO Women's Basketball World Cup
00:11here at Berlin Arena in Berlin, Germany.
00:15Spain in control ahead of host Germany.
00:25Spain leads the host country, Germany, 50-24.
00:30What an offensive performance by Spain in the first 20 minutes.
00:33Offensive performance in a way that they just found one another for some clean open looks
00:38and connected ball movement, extra passing, a lot of three-point shots.
00:44You know they're going to try and take those three-point looks at a high volume,
00:48but it was how they were creating them.
00:50It was really smooth and fluid to watch, and so much too was predicated
00:53by what they did on the defensive end.
00:55The box score tells you everything, jumping off the page,
00:58the discrepancy and three-point shooting accuracy along with those assist numbers.
01:0415 for Spain, just two for Germany.
01:07We're finding a hard time getting the job done on both ends of the floor.
01:10Yeah, they hit the threes early on, and then we watched our fam
01:14and Raquel Carrera take care of business in the post
01:19and found their opportunities around the basket.
01:22How does Germany come out in the second half?
01:24Feebush had nine.
01:25How do they get others going?
01:27Get going, but I think a lot of it, too, starts with trying to find ways
01:30to get stops against Spain, because that will allow them to get out
01:34to run a little bit more.
01:35They also need to take care of the glass.
01:37There was too many offensive rebounds and second-chance opportunities
01:39for a Spain offense that was already cooking.
01:43Deep in the paint.
01:45Eichmeyer spins into a layup.
01:47No good.
01:48Buehner now 0 for 2, and they finally get one to go.
01:51And for that, getting some offensive rebounds
01:54and some second-chance points as well
01:57will certainly help their cause.
02:00Eichmeyer played about 25 minutes a game at the qualifiers.
02:03Germany's were in France, stayed, played their qualifiers
02:08in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
02:10Good start here for Germany.
02:11Good rotations on that defensive end.
02:15Geisel Suda, nice flick of the wrist.
02:23It's a 22-point game.
02:26Geisel Suda with her first field goal of the ball game.
02:32Lob pass by Kolde, out of bounds, was looking for Cazorla.
02:38Brendan, you asked it, but if you're Germany,
02:40you couldn't ask for a better start.
02:42They're doing a nice job offensively,
02:44getting off some looks on the inside and connecting
02:46and getting stops on the defensive end.
02:49Really, that's the formula.
02:50You can't look at the score necessarily
02:52and the deficit as a whole.
02:53You just need to compartmentalize it to start cutting into it.
02:57Germany really impressed at the qualifiers in France.
03:01Their only loss was to France.
03:02We'll see them later on on TNT Sports against Hungary.
03:07Deflection by Spain.
03:09They look to dial it back up defensively.
03:13So much as Aston Bauer, the fan, to pull down the floor.
03:16Keep mentioning her age, but she's been a pro for five years
03:19at the international level.
03:22Peterson to trigger it in.
03:23Fiebershop, one foot.
03:26I also think we mentioned this off the top,
03:28an important thing to remember.
03:29This is just the second time that Germany is participating
03:32in the World Cup.
03:33The first time since 1998.
03:35Both times being the host city.
03:38And there is just an added level of pressure,
03:41responsibility, both on the court, off the court.
03:44We heard Renee Montgomery talk about it in the pregame show.
03:47Oh, it's tickets, family-friendly.
03:49Sometimes there's a lot going on.
03:51So you get yourself settled in after that first half.
03:54And hopefully now they found an added level of comfort and familiarity.
04:01Meanwhile, Pham attacked the basket.
04:03Geisel Suda followed her on the upper body.
04:07Awa Pham to the free throw line.
04:09She has seven points.
04:10Her first trip to the free throw line.
04:1683% free throw shooter as a member of the Seattle Storm.
04:21Watch her post-teammate Dominique Molanda for France.
04:26Hit her today.
04:28The talent that we are going to have the opportunity and great fortune
04:33to witness through the course of this World Cup tournament
04:36is going to be incredible.
04:37Well, Peterson, great hedge by Spain defensively.
04:43Ianna Martin settles the offense in the half court.
04:48Spain tries to under rhythm as it did to start the game.
04:53Hard to replicate that.
04:54They were so in sync.
04:58Conde, all of her points are from behind the arc.
05:00She is fouled and will get two in the line.
05:03Conde, followed by Eichmann.
05:06That's, though, the challenge in playing against Spain
05:09as we continue to talk about the offense and the dynamics of it.
05:13They also have players that can create on their own.
05:16So even looking at Conde, you put the ball in her hands,
05:18her ability to create, get off a shot.
05:21They've been passing the ball extremely well.
05:24The fact that they already have 16 assists on the day,
05:28but they also can play in isolation,
05:31play on one-on-one if they need to, if they're single coverage.
05:41Conde, off the mark, has played for the Spanish national team since 2017,
05:46part of both Olympic teams in 2020 and 2024.
05:5225-point lead for Spain.
05:55Missed out on the World Cup four years ago.
05:57They're back in this phase.
06:01Eichmeyer fakes left.
06:03On the perimeter, Buhner.
06:06Offensive rebound, Eichmeyer is stuffed by Pham.
06:12What a block.
06:14Tracking timing coming from behind out of nowhere.
06:17Eichmeyer.
06:18Martin is stripped.
06:21Germany converged inside.
06:24Peterson skips away from the defense,
06:27tried to curl a pass.
06:28It is fouled.
06:30For Eichmeyer in the pocket.
06:39Peterson defensively.
06:40Great strip.
06:41And does a good job staying in front, active hands,
06:44and then on the other end, strong on her attack to get downhill.
06:48Alexis Peterson, as we have mentioned,
06:51player really familiar with international play.
06:54Played 17 games for the Seattle Storm in 2017,
06:58before stints in Israel, Poland, Turkey, France,
07:01and big strength to her game.
07:04Peterson was approached by Germany in the summer of 2023,
07:08gauging her interest to join the national team.
07:11She considered it because she did play some 3x3 for USA basketball,
07:15but then thought, hey, the great Becky Hammond,
07:17she played for Russia.
07:19Why not take advantage of the naturalization rule in FIBA?
07:23Get more playing time.
07:24FIBA is shaking up on that play.
07:33Going in for catch.
07:38And I think she's got a bit on the hand.
07:40You see her clenching her fist a little bit.
07:49FIBA checks out of the game for now.
07:52Shot clock at 8 for Germany.
08:02Now is Saboli into the ball game.
08:06As well as Clara Bielefeldt for the Germany squad.
08:13Saboli rumbles in there.
08:15FAM with another rejection.
08:18FIBA checks out of the ball game.
08:22Cazorla at the controls.
08:25Uses the screen by Carrera.
08:27Knocks down the jumper, mate Cazorla.
08:3355-28.
08:42Saboli commits the offensive foul.
08:44There was some movement while setting the screen.
08:48And it's a tough play on that,
08:49especially when you see the three-point shot go through.
08:53Is Saboli, or rather, not Saboli,
08:54is the R thinking freedom of movement?
08:56This isn't the WNBA.
08:57I thought things were supposed to be a little bit more physical.
09:00And it would benefit the defense in some capacity.
09:13Carrera sets the screen.
09:14Carrera sets the screen.
09:15Cazorla, long two.
09:19Saboli, the rebound.
09:22Yes, she can't be wished her sister, saw too well, who was out for the remainder of the season.
09:27FAM is putting on a clinic, a block party here in the third.
09:33This time, an offensive foul against Spain.
09:39And that's a just tough play here.
09:42Look at that.
09:42I mean, FAM, it's a big part of her defensive prowess.
09:46This isn't just the length, but she's got really good feel and timing.
09:49On the flip side, though, Germany does a great job.
09:52And Dobb coming back on the other end to be able to pick up that charge, regain possession.
09:59I'm intrigued to continue, though, watching Spain through the course of this game
10:03and through the course of the tournament, though,
10:04because of the way in which they really have done a nice job
10:08in how they're able to use their defense to fuel their offense.
10:13And there's a lot of pressure, they're disruptive,
10:16and it slows down opposing offenses and what they want to get into.
10:21Spain, number six in the FIBA rankings ahead of this World Cup.
10:27FAM's defense has been so impressive.
10:29Takes a seat, Megan DeLeo in the game, contests the Saboli three.
10:33Offensive rebound, Buehner.
10:35Swing on the perimeter.
10:36Vilcox makes it rain.
10:39For the host city, Berlin.
10:41There's life in the building at Berlin Arena.
10:44Much needed.
10:45You know they're looking for those type of things to cheer for.
10:51This is starting to add up a bit here.
10:57Offensive foul, Spain.
11:01It's on Martin.
11:08And it's two personal fouls.
11:11Midway point, third quarter.
11:18Alexandra Vilco.
11:21Buehner, the lob.
11:24Staying here, last touch by Martine.
11:26It's just everywhere.
11:29Both ends.
11:31It's been so much fun to watch her.
11:33Oh my gosh.
11:33And we keep talking about her, drafted this season.
11:38Number seven overall.
11:39By the Portland fire, not playing for the fire this season.
11:43But so much optimism for the impact that she can make at that young age.
11:49And their skill set, disposition she brings.
11:53Catch and shoot.
11:54Per the dob.
11:55Missed it short.
11:59Saboli engaged on the offensive glass.
12:04Going the other way.
12:06Last touched by Germany.
12:08Number 11 in the FIBA rankings.
12:16Spain not as crisp offensively in terms of shot making.
12:20But Pham with multiple blocked shots.
12:23She's got three for the game.
12:26On the bench right now, Carrera and DeLeo are the two bigs to anchor the defense and their offense.
12:35Martine separates.
12:37Touch for DeLeo.
12:38Flick with the left hand.
12:41Megan DeLeo can fill it up.
12:44Formerly Megan Gustafson got married this past year.
12:50And I remember her being a superstar at Iowa, National Player of the Year back in 2019.
12:55She gained Spanish citizenship in 2023.
12:58And another option for this team to go through when they need scoring.
13:04Formerly Iowa's all-time leading scorer, Kaitlyn Clark, past her in her senior year.
13:09Nice take to the rack by Martine.
13:11Spain continues to rack it up.
13:15They're on a revenge tour this year.
13:17Their first World Cup appearance since 2018, up by 28.
13:21You're watching the Women's FIBA World Cup on TNT Sports.
13:25Bali.
13:26So they're right now in the driver's seat of Group A.
13:29And right now it looks like Spain will be the team to even that 1-0 record.
13:35Germany's got something to say about that.
13:37It's still time to go in the third.
13:38But what a start and a tone-setting performance by Japan.
13:42You've got to feel great about that if you are Japan.
13:46And as we continue to watch, the way things play out with these group plays, as we know,
13:5116 teams that will compete in these group stages, four groups of four round-robin teams
13:58all playing one another.
13:59The group winners advance directly to the quarterfinals.
14:02So for all these teams, just a level of comfort here is they get things going.
14:05And this is the excitement.
14:06We've all been waiting for it.
14:08We've all been anticipating it, but I think finally have this tip-off take place is something
14:12that we've been ready for.
14:14And you know the players and teams have been for a long time.
14:17Earlier today, we watched the United States with nine players debuting in a FIBA World Cup
14:23defeat China by 30-plus.
14:28After this on TNT Sports, we have Hungary and France.
14:35Zontag with the old board.
14:36You know, Germany's racked those up.
14:38They now have 12 offensive rebounds.
14:41Just can't capitalize.
14:44Ghoulish flipped it up, and will go to the line for two.
14:49Team is distraught.
14:54And that's a great post-up.
14:56There was a mismatch defensively as you already look down below Floreth, trying to switch off,
15:02switching on to another one of her guard teammates.
15:06But for Germany, they just haven't been able to find it consistently enough.
15:11And also the discrepancy in the three-point shooting.
15:16And while a lot of what they can do is try and pound it in the paint,
15:21trying to catch up to this deficit is something that has been really challenging to do,
15:25given the difference of how they've connected from deep.
15:29Mariona Ortiz now the orchestrator.
15:33Four in the white and maroon.
15:35Curls a pass into DeLeo.
15:38And DeLeo spins by Phoebus for two.
15:43Her footwork is really special.
15:44So, their size, their skill, there's a lot of aspects to her game
15:49that make her really efficient offensively.
15:51But the footwork is where it all begins.
15:53Four points for DeLeo and two of three shooting.
15:56Phoebus from way deep.
16:00Fouls on Spain.
16:02Loose ball foul.
16:03And we talked a lot coming into this about the responsibility put on the shoulders of Leonie Phoebus.
16:11You see her trying to defend here on this end of the floor,
16:15the matchups that she will receive.
16:17But offensively, there's been a ton of attention on her.
16:20So, three of 11 from the field.
16:22She's had a rough time getting it going.
16:24But a big part of that has just been the compliments of there hasn't been a lot of extra help
16:28from this German team.
16:31The host city, Berlin, just the second time in the FIBA World Cup history.
16:44Back-to-back turnovers by each country.
16:5861-33.
17:01It's all Spain.
17:03Suffocating defense by Ortiz.
17:09The long-winded possession for the Germans.
17:13Spin.
17:14Zone tag.
17:15Missed it.
17:16Offensive rebound, Bessois.
17:2213 offensive rebounds for Germany.
17:26Vilka to Phoebus for three.
17:30Second three-pointer for Leonie Phoebus.
17:3412 points.
17:35The first Germany player in double figures.
17:37And good passing by Germany to get Phoebus that cleaner look.
17:43Big part of what they're going to need to do for as much as we've talked about Spain's defense.
17:47To Leo shoved to the baseline.
17:53Fox is right back up.
17:59And Zontag and Leo just really clocking into one another off that possession.
18:05Part of the level of physicality we talk about in this play.
18:09Just call for the foul.
18:15Nine personal fouls assessed to Germany.
18:2014 to Spain.
18:271.34 to go in the third.
18:35DeRio's going to shoot.
18:37Upgraded the foul.
18:52Blue's happy.
18:57Two free throws and the ball after the upgrade.
19:02Spain still in control.
19:0457% shooting.
19:069 of 18 from three.
19:08They haven't hit a three in this second half.
19:11Until now.
19:12Ortiz.
19:19Spoken into existence a little bit there.
19:21Teed it up, Brennan.
19:24Makes you so good.
19:26Phoebus hit a three earlier.
19:28Locks it with the left hand.
19:33Spain.
19:34Hit with a foul.
19:35And Phoebus picks up a foul there.
19:37But that's another example of she's got a collapse of two, three bodies trying to get in front of her.
19:42What Spain has done so well is show bodies, show traffic.
19:47Germany has had a tough time connecting from three and hitting outside shots.
19:51So it's given them even more leeway to play boxes and elbows, to pack the paint, to make sure that
19:57they have got those extra levels of help on the inside to at least force some tough contests.
20:03And you've got to give them credit for, again, what Miguel Mendez and this group have done on the defensive
20:10side that's allowed them to be just as fluid offensively.
20:1813 for Phoebus.
20:21Final minute, third quarter.
20:27Floreth lobs it.
20:30Deep in the paint, Ginzo.
20:32And the stuff by Phoebus.
20:36Pushes the ball up the other end.
20:38Leads to a paint touch.
20:39They swarm the inside.
20:42Spain recovers defensively.
20:44Goulish in the post.
20:46Fadeaway is good.
20:49Marie Goulish.
20:50That's a tough shot made by Goulish.
20:53Almost even got repositioned and pushed out a little bit by DeLeo off of the reset.
21:00Goulish earned her spot, snuck onto this World Cup roster after not participating in the qualifiers.
21:07Gets Germany an experienced big.
21:13The defense of Phoebus to ignite that trip.
21:16She's been, I mean, you've seen that through the course of her career.
21:21Strength of a player that can be your go-to scorer offensively, but also how she can defend.
21:28And, yeah, and with Goulish, that's, you know, part of her experience, too, was even playing with Spain at the
21:342024 Paris Games.
21:36How she was able to help on the glass, doing a lot of little things at that 6'5 size
21:40and frame.
21:41And she's played pro.
21:43German, Spain, France, Italy, Australia, Poland.
21:47Some sense with three WNBA teams.
21:49So, as you mentioned, just a lot of experience in different places and areas that they're going to rely upon.
21:59Feebus with 13 to lead Germany, contested triple.
22:03And the third quarter horn sounds 65-39.
22:07Spain leads as we make the turn for home in Berlin.
22:12Fourth quarter is next.
22:18TNT connection changes everything.
22:20Oh, we've seen a lot of assists from Spain, but this was a beauty.
22:23Look at our fan.
22:24Collapses the defense.
22:26Draws a ton of attention herself off the double and finds an open teammate.
22:31Top of the key.
22:31Drains the three-point shot.
22:33Optimizing how Spain has played here today and why they have been so efficient on the offensive side.
22:40We were looking.
22:41The Spain fans were looking.
22:42It was an owl, was it?
22:43That was a no-look kickoff.
22:45That was nice.
22:47Pueyo is fouled.
22:49Shooting from behind the arc.
22:52Brendan Glasheen, Sarah Kustak, stay tuned.
22:54We have another game, part of our triple header on TNT Sports, Hungary and France.
23:03There's a ball there by Zontek.
23:05Yeah, a little clip of the hand, though.
23:06You saw the little, little get.
23:14Spain had seven different players score in the third, some by a free throw.
23:19Five field goals in that quarter.
23:22So there were a lot of fouls and a lot of trips to the line from Spain.
23:30But I think even to that point, you've got three players in double figures for Spain.
23:36Our fan is a point shy of that and doing a little bit of everything.
23:41There has been a balance in their attack.
23:46Bilka missed the three, short.
23:48Floreth comes up with the ball.
23:51The table setter, eyes up the floor.
23:55DeLeo looks forward in the post.
23:57They get it to him, but far from the basket.
24:00DeLeo, fade away.
24:04Boxed off by Buter, who was not really able to get into a rhythm in this game.
24:09Picked up two fouls early.
24:12Buter today has not scored 15 minutes.
24:16And speaking of rhythm, that's why this quarter is so critical for both of these teams.
24:20How are you going to finish off this game in what it may do for you to continue?
24:25Here's Buter, reverse layup.
24:27Her first points, and she even claps to herself to get herself going.
24:30But as you said, get a rhythm, get a feel.
24:34To Leo.
24:36Nails a three to respond.
24:40That's a lot about Puerto Rico.
24:44Nearly 15 a game for this Spanish team.
24:48She had two games, she had 20 or more points.
24:50She just knows how to fill it up.
24:58And while Germany gets two back on the other end.
25:0468-43, that's an excellent point by you to use something from the fourth that you can carry over into
25:10your next game.
25:11Turnarounds in this tournament are rapid.
25:13They're rapid.
25:14This is a stage of group play.
25:18Fam with operation on the block.
25:20All minutes matter.
25:22And for all of these teams, you can practice, you can drill.
25:26There's different levels of the training and where these teams have been at.
25:30But I think the concept of now that you're actually in game action, how are you utilizing that?
25:36What are you getting from it?
25:38I think these coaches are monitoring that.
25:40And that's regardless of score.
25:42They spray it.
25:44Puello connects.
25:47Number three for Spain.
25:52Now up to 12 in the game.
25:57Japan also of group A hit 20 this morning.
26:01Peterson bounces in.
26:04Ghoulish puts it home.
26:14Germany, the host city for the second time of the FIBA World Cup.
26:21It was their last appearance, 1998.
26:24While Spain is back, Fam is a big reason why.
26:27Contested jumper, Awa Fam.
26:30That is a high degree of difficulty look from three.
26:35Putting the ball on the floor is different than a catch and shoot.
26:38A little bit of a sidestep there.
26:41Awa Fam is showcasing all the reasons why there's so much optimism about her game.
26:51Fam with a game high, 14 points, doing it on both ends of the floor.
27:00Olaf Lang doesn't have answers right now.
27:01How do we stop her?
27:03How do we attack her?
27:08Fam with 14, a 5-of-8 shooting.
27:12She's hit two three-pointers, four rebounds, two assists, two steals, three blocks.
27:20That's your definition of filling up a stat sheet.
27:23Right?
27:26Just scratching the surface, turn 20 in June.
27:30Skip pass to Saboli.
27:32Fam was caught on her heels, but Germany ran out of time.
27:46Spain hit about nine threes a game at the FIBA qualifying tournament back in March in Puerto Rico.
27:53They've hit 13 of them.
27:54How about a 14?
27:56Kondé pinballs out.
28:00Kondé really got him going today.
28:02Hit four of them so far.
28:07Saboli motors into Kondé.
28:09Turnover in Germany.
28:10To your point, though, think about how many names you have mentioned, the different aspects that there's been an impact
28:15at.
28:17Saboli is motoring to Kondé and keeps circling back to what Spain has done on the defensive side.
28:24That's both the perimeter pressure is picking up full court, clearing out the glass.
28:38Vilka finds Saboli, Eurostep into the lane.
28:43That was nice.
28:47Niara Saboli with six points.
28:51In coming into this one, there was some question if Niara Saboli will be healthy enough to play.
28:56She last played on August 12th and has missed some time.
28:59With the Toronto temper and in the WNBA with a calf injury, so it's great to have her on the
29:05floor.
29:05But you have to imagine for her, too, just to get a little bit more loose, get a little bit
29:09more acclimated,
29:10get yourself ready because she's a pivotal piece to this group.
29:21Yana Martin checks back into the ball game.
29:25Pham again.
29:27Pham!
29:27Pham bam from three.
29:30Her third today.
29:3317 points.
29:37And an offensive foul, Germany.
29:42Yeah, big ol' smiles for our Pham.
29:45How do you like this?
29:46That's a smooth-looking stroke.
29:49I think that's a big part of it.
29:50It's not just that she's been knocking down three-point shots.
29:53It's the quickness of her release.
29:55You know, whether she's getting them on the catch, off the dribble.
29:58Aspects of her game just continue to evolve.
30:0214 triples for Spain.
30:05We're reminded of their pedigree at the international level, despite missing out in 2022.
30:13They medaled three straight times at the World Cup, prior to the 22 absence.
30:19They were fifth at the Paris Olympics two years ago.
30:23Won silver ten years ago in Rio.
30:28Put back bid by Saboli.
30:30No, that try.
30:31She's fouled.
30:34And I know there's a little frustration on her face for not finishing off those first
30:39couple shots, but what I love that we're seeing out of Saboli is the aggressiveness she's
30:43having to impose her will, use her size, her strength, get to the basket.
30:49A couple short shots that she would typically finish, but that's what you want to see out
30:55of her.
30:56We'll give her some grace.
30:56Remember, she's battled a calf injury since mid-August in the WNBA.
31:00Big 12 football Saturdays are back on TNT Sports.
31:05The season kicks off with a clash between Coastal Carolina and West Virginia.
31:10The action begins tomorrow at 11.30 a.m. Eastern on TNT and HBO Memphis.
31:16I'm very curious what Adam Lefkoe has planned for his suit and attire.
31:20Ooh.
31:22We'll be locked in.
31:24Great crew.
31:26You have anticipation?
31:28Do you have some guesses?
31:32I'll come up with something.
31:33Okay.
31:37Our team heads up play to throw it off of Geisel Suda.
31:41A nice trap there by Germany.
31:44These are the areas, though, again, I know for Germany it's a 30-point deficit, Spain a
31:4930-point lead, but what are you working on?
31:50What are some schemes, coverages, things that these staffs are trying to install for the
31:55group that you can incorporate and use in this game action?
32:00We'll step aside.
32:01A 30-point lead for Spain in their opening game at the FIBA World Cup.
32:05Can you see someone on the screen?
32:07Quest for a fifth consecutive FIBA World Cup gold medal.
32:12They took down China.
32:13It's a back-and-forth game.
32:15China went on a run to cut it to single digits in the second, but then it was all United
32:19States.
32:20The young and turnt crew delivered in the fourth quarter.
32:24Clark, Beckers, Howard, all over this game.
32:27All over this game.
32:27These are the headliners by the numbers, but it was a complete team effort.
32:31And for USA, I think right out of the gates you saw their level of organization, the depth,
32:37the talent.
32:39Everyone was able to understand their roles, and similar to the things that we are saying
32:43about Spain, of how complete it was defensively, offensively, the ball-sharing and passing,
32:48where the efficiency numbers were at, the assist numbers were at, it was very similar for
32:53game one of this World Cup for USA.
32:56Jackie Young was also in double figures for the United States.
33:01Conde missed the triple.
33:03Going for a fifth.
33:05Four of seven.
33:05But Peterson with the shovel.
33:08Up and in.
33:10Alexis Peterson studying to look and see.
33:13She only has one assist today.
33:15Peterson averaged six at the qualifiers, five at the Paris Olympics.
33:20Typically when she's in that five to six range, it means Germany's clicking offensively.
33:26The tough part for Germany, they have just not been very accurate.
33:30They've had a hard time scoring against this Spanish team.
33:34They're shooting under 30% from the field.
33:37Rim run by Cazorla.
33:40Comes up empty.
33:42On the other end, Milka.
33:44Outlet.
33:46Saboli short.
33:49Cleared by Raquel Carrera.
33:51And those shots for Germany just have not fallen.
33:54To think about the fact they're four of 22 from three as opposed to 14 of 26 for Spain.
34:02It's really tough to match that up and stay within a game.
34:08Carrera rolls to the rim.
34:10They couldn't find her.
34:13Saboli rips in the rebound.
34:16She hasn't had it going.
34:17Shooting at seven boards to lead Germany today.
34:23Nice little Suda.
34:25For a double team, that means someone's open.
34:28Bielafilm.
34:29Excellent read.
34:30Great cut, good movement.
34:33You got a Spanish team that's taking some risks in their defensive pressure,
34:38putting out some blitz and traps, and in that instance, Germany makes them pay.
34:43But, not a Martine.
34:47What a calm day.
34:48They play catch.
34:49Martine.
34:51Sidestep.
34:51Bluffing.
34:52Driving.
34:53Martine for two.
34:56Oh, put the defense on skates.
35:01Watch out.
35:04She's been so fun to watch with that speed, but also a good feeling, instinct she has for the game.
35:10I have a feeling in the Moda Center, next summer, will be a sold-out jersey in Portland.
35:17Vilka misses the reverse.
35:20Under two minutes to go in the fourth.
35:23Martine's got 12 in this game.
35:26One of three Spain players in double figures.
35:30High dribble, loose ball.
35:32Carrera, followed by Vilka.
35:34College of team number three, and this is the first person in London.
35:49Handful of substitutions made by both countries.
35:55Again, coming up next, Hungary, France.
36:00TNT Sports.
36:04We discussed this briefly in our first game of the day, but many, the talking heads, those that really just
36:13know the landscape that France poses the biggest threat to the United States for a gold medal.
36:19I think there's a lot of reasons to point to.
36:22As recent as the 2024 Paris games, Gabby Williams was able to put forth a foot over the line of
36:32a one-point loss by France to that USA team in the gold medal game.
36:38And the depth, the talent, and excited for us to be able to watch them play here as they get
36:43sent to play against Hungary.
36:45But there is a lot of skill, talent, continuity for what they bring to the table.
36:52Gabby Williams, the newly appointed captain of France.
36:56Curious if she trimmed a few centimeters off her shoes after what happened in Paris, France.
37:02She's had a great year for the Golden State Valkyries.
37:10Zone tag, it's stolen away by Carrera.
37:15Approach the final minute.
37:25Cazorla sprays to Buena Vida.
37:32Ginzo, no angle.
37:36Tracked down by Buena Vida.
37:41Spain runs some clock.
37:44Closing time against the host city, Berlin.
37:48And a great take by Cazorla.
37:5230-point lead once again for Spain.
38:03Turnover.
38:06Carrera being pressured before the timeline.
38:08They cross it.
38:09Shot clock is off.
38:13All the chit-chat about Spain was they didn't qualify in 2022.
38:18Many were stunned by them.
38:21Now they're back.
38:23On this stage for the first time in eight years.
38:26And wow, what a commanding performance to alert the rest of Roubaix and this entire field.
38:35That's your ballgame.
38:3683-53.
38:38Spain defeats Germany.
38:41They hit 17 three-pointers today.
38:49It was a dominant performance offensively, defensively.
38:53But our fam is the perfect example of how they were hitting on all points.
38:59The ability to facilitate and pass defensively, getting after it, stepping out, knocking down three-point shots.
39:06Thank you, man.
