00:08it's a wonderful feeling again already a successful season it is well we say that

00:23so halfway through the year I asked the question I know you don't like doing things like

00:31to do it every day but we can always bring back old conversations and earlier this year when they
00:38were struggling like the month of July kind of got away from them after the injuries that happened
00:43in June month of July kind of went oh boy and it was still like kind of an up and
00:49down sort of deal
00:50like hey can they if they still make the postseason is that a success and there were people
00:56in the station who said no they said that that is not a successful season just by making the
01:00postseason they've already made the postseason many many times over but what the beauty is of the
01:07regular season is that it gives you the proper perspective I think of a life worth lived a life
01:14well lived that was worth it and I think that watching them come together throughout the second
01:21half of the season you know and it's not just you know everybody Jose Jose Jose Jose yeah and he's
01:27playing through injury and I know it can't get any worse so he's just going to deal with the pain

01:32that's the way that's going to go but like Stephen Kwan getting back to form Travis Bazzana being somebody
01:38that you know not an everyday guy that you can hope that he's going to contribute but someday he's an
01:43everyday guy that you hope that he contribute obviously but you know he's going to have his
01:46peaks and valleys and bad at bats and bad days that's that's what happens with young young players
01:52chase the lottery how many different rookies have they called up how bad was the bullpen to start
01:56off the year I mean there were so many things that they got straightened out that I can't look back
02:01and say this wasn't a successful run this wasn't a great run by the by the team sorry I can't

02:07all of that is true I'm just saying what everyone's going to say the minute they get eliminated

02:28the argument though that it wasn't a successful season why did they say it wasn't they have champion
02:32they've been to the playoffs they have championship expectations so if you're telling me they don't
02:37have the Guardians don't have championship expectations then yeah I guess well I mean they do but I
02:41still think and this is not I mean this would be a knock on the owner if anything I'm not

02:47the owner in this conversation I guess this would be a knock on ownership you feel that way because
02:54without a doubt it had to be brought up day by day by day it was the most expensive roster

03:00so the most expensive roster in the NBA getting to the Eastern Conference Finals and failing to win a
03:06game in the Eastern Conference Finals I I guess I could see where people were really sorely
03:11disappointed I I could see the other side of that argument with this unless you're not as big of a
03:16deal in the NBA that way the way it is in baseball it's such an advantage in baseball but you

03:20comparison I have to make the comparison so if there's the comparison there then I gotta do it
03:24the Browns spent the most amount of money but the last five years they spent the most money in the
03:27NFL the Browns spent a lot of money but I I just see what the Guardian so I I can't
03:32say that it's a low
03:34payroll and that's it because the low payroll team like the Guardians yeah it's just that that's the
03:40hard part about discussing them all the time in the city because they're always going to be one of
03:43the younger teams are always going to be one of the lowest payroll that's never going to change
03:47well so is it dumb is it dumb luck that they they're able to get into the postseason all the
03:51time internet will have you believe it's just because they're in this division that that is which
03:55somebody already tweeted at me about the well if they were in the AL East they'd be in last okay

03:59they were in the AL West they would already won the division so what is the argument here guys

04:35had another team eliminated I every day other teams are eliminated and we get to continue playing

04:53baseball at Municipal Stadium it was just a foregone I saw the Indians at Municipal it was just a
04:58foregone conclusion that you were never going to the playoffs it was just that was it there was no
05:04point no and this is such a dramatic difference from so from decades of baseball that a lot of fans
05:12had to endure some of our older fans now had to endure now the younger fans they've been spoiled
05:17it's just they make playoffs every year so the younger fans I could understand if they care more a
05:22little more about hey we've been there done that we've seen it well it's like the Steelers but I
05:27guess Steelers go to the playoffs every year but nobody cares in Pittsburgh anymore because that's
05:31what they've done well then I guess I'm all too happy to line up and have the argument every single
05:34year because I don't want to teach fans a lesson and put the Guardians in the cellar and have some
05:40sort of like 20-year run like Seattle did where they didn't make the postseason so I'm not I'm not
05:44here to teach any fan base lessons or any young fans in the fan base lessons or anything like that
05:50I guess I'm just going to line up and have this argument every single year the postseason is the
05:54postseason it's all professional baseball the Guardians cannot answer for the mistakes or bad
05:59luck in some cases or both in some cases of the other teams that are in the division that is

06:06their fault that is not their business they care about their own business and business has been pretty
06:11good has it been the best I'm not sure like I want them to go deep but I think I

07:13like guys I I think it should be and maybe people feel differently maybe they're maybe you're not
07:19going to be excited until they win the win the uh the division maybe you're not going to be excited
07:23until they go to the World Series I don't know now if they win listen if they win well I'm

07:42think it's more people be going nuts if they end up solidifying this division over the weekend I think
07:49then you've got some time to let it marinate and then it sets up everybody can get their viewing
07:54plans everybody can get their plans for going to you know the actual home game to start out a
08:00playoff series then if there's a way that they can get this done before Sunday then you get your
08:05pitchers all lined up you know that's a big deal too and then that only build the confidence and
08:11you get to watch other teams play in the wild card let the carnage ensue let their bullpens get taxed
08:18while we wait and then I think it'll be a different story then I think they'll be lined up we're

09:20thought it was pretty fun to watch a conga line I thought that that was pretty fun to see in

09:24clubhouse yesterday sorry I thought that was fun of course it was and they'll get and they will get
09:30made fun of if they are an early exit team I don't think they should that's how it works it

09:34every year now okay but I guess I'll defend them because you only get so many chances to celebrate
09:38this sort of thing you might as well go out and celebrate it I mean that's the fun of major

09:42baseball they don't do this in the NFL but I like but they they have not been there done that

09:47Guardians have been there done that I like that they kept their eye on the prize that I thought
09:52they said the right things yesterday I love that they did not lose focus on what really matters and
09:57that is taking care of business this weekend and hopefully lining things up for a division winner

10:34their chances that make it a deep run they're they're just a young team I'm sure there's other nights
10:40out during the season that they've had and maybe they woke up a little groggy the next day or
10:44something like that I mean they have lost 76 games in 2026 so I'm sure that they weren't all hung

10:52for 76 losses so my issue or my my point is as I'm saying I hope that they celebrate it

11:00want to do it within reason fine but I hope there is something to savor here of making the postseason
11:04these appearances don't just fall off of trees and I think young guys there have to savor the moment
11:10that they've contributed to a team that holds itself to a high standard and that standard is
11:14going to the postseason and trying to make a run every year where there it's unrealistic for a lot
11:19of teams in their in their uh in their market in their kind of market to do so and I
11:23just would feel
11:25I'd feel like a missed opportunity if they go and they don't win the division they could they could
11:29lose two out of three to the whites or the to the royals no matter what if they go and
11:34they don't win
11:34the division and then they go to the wild card round and they don't win the wild card and it's
11:40like well that's it and I'm like well you didn't get a chance to really enjoy the fruits of your
11:44labor the labor is the regular season there should be some you don't think they could do a makeup party
11:50celebration or something it's not the same it's not the same can't just let the record show Ken
11:56Carmen is the man of the people I just want him to be able to have a little bit of

12:00the athletes get a chance to have a night out I just want him to have finally somebody not even

12:23on it is just so crazy how they are holding on to this thing by the absolute slimmest of
12:30margins that if I mean you have Gavin Williams today and he will not have been having the
12:37champagne doused all over him and everything and if for just whatever reason he had a bad outing
12:42and Kansas City wins this game tonight and it could cost them the division like it's that crazy
12:48all these positive feel-good vibes down the stretch they literally have had to win almost every game
12:53they did lose one to Boston but it didn't matter because the White Sox
12:57were able to you know cough one up so it is quite literally coming down to most likely the last
13:03day
13:03of the year it's crazy but I'm glad I'm glad that they're in and I think that I think the
13:08moment
13:08needs to be savored by fans it doesn't happen all the time and in my generation you're older than me
13:14so definitely in your generation this was not something I understand the postseason was in a
13:19different format than in those days than they are now I just think that the moment should be
13:24savored I think the moment should be enjoyed by everybody who who gets a chance to partake in it
13:29and that includes the players that includes the staff I hope that there was some sort of
