04:12Tonight, we're going to jump into a few pieces of information that have come out in the last 24 hours.

04:16We're going to start with Mason Rook.

04:18He was scheduled to challenge for the NXT Championship against Grayson Waller this past week.

04:24We know that that championship opportunity did not go to him.

04:27It went to EK Prosper instead because Mason Rook is injured and he is out of action currently.

04:31Well, of course, people start to wonder, is this storyline, do they think maybe this match

04:36would have been better on a bigger quality event, maybe a stand and deliver or something

04:40like that?

04:41Unfortunately, it sounds as though from a report that came out today that that is not the case,

04:45that Mason Rook is legit injured.

04:47And not only is he injured, that he may be out for an extended period of time with no return

04:52timetable mentioned in any articles I could find.

04:55And then I looked at e-wrestling, I looked at WrestleZone, all the different sites I go

05:01to, F4W, all of them, they all have the same kind of general information that at some point

05:06he'll be back, but it could be an extended period of time.

05:08What a shame for a kid who was really starting to make his bones in NXT.

05:12And the only flaw, I think, in his entire presentation was the outfit.

05:16Got to find something better for that guy to wear to the ring.

05:18I was not loving the gear.

05:19It was like, it was almost like Timu Bronson Reed, but hopefully they find a way to get

05:25him back sooner than later because I love everything about him.

05:27I hope they start letting him do some of the crazy moves that he was doing on Pursuit

05:31Pro Wrestling YouTube channel shorts for years now.

05:37It's incredible.

05:38You should see the stuff this guy can do.

05:40From there, really exciting news for the city of New Orleans, Louisiana.

05:45They were supposed to host WrestleMania this past year.

05:49It got taken away from them.

05:50It went to Las Vegas for back-to-back years.

05:52But today, a report came out that Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, basically from, I

05:58believe it was March 31st through like April 12th or 21st or something like that, has a

06:03hold on it.

06:04And the inside scoop is, is that that is on hold so that WrestleMania 2029 could potentially

06:10go back to the Superdome in New Orleans for WrestleMania.

06:15And look, how do you make it right?

06:17You promised it to that city and then you pulled it out from under him.

06:20You went to Las Vegas, which I think most people in the wrestling space thought was a bad idea.

06:25And now you've got a chance to make it right.

06:27Go back there.

06:28We know that 2027 is going to be in Saudi.

06:30I don't remember where 2028 was supposed to be.

06:33I have to look that up at some point.

06:34I don't remember off the top of my head.

06:35But 2029 sounds like that's where New Orleans is going to get their comeback and they should

06:40post be hosting WrestleMania.

06:41Now they did host WrestleMania twice before.

06:43I believe it was 30 and 34 maybe.

06:46So this will be the first time in a little while, but a great city, great hosts.

06:51I think it's an exciting opportunity for that, for them and something that they kind of deserved

06:55after having like the wind pulled out of their sails when they canceled WrestleMania, moved

06:59into Las Vegas.

07:00There was a report about a month, month and a half, maybe at this point, heck, it might

07:04be two months ago, that Richard Holiday, independent wrestling superstar, GCW superstar, he's all

07:09over the indies.

07:10This guy is a really, really talented performer.

07:13The word was is that he had signed a developmental deal to go to WWE's ID program, then eventually

07:19potentially go to NXT.

07:21But there were no firm details on whether he actually signed, whether this was hypothetical.

07:25And now Sean Ross Sapp reports that he has heard nothing about him going to WWE, and rather

07:33the opposite is true, that he had mentioned about how Richard Holiday wants to be the independent

07:38wrestler of the year.

07:39And if you're under a WWE contract, you cannot do that.

07:42So it is his perspective that he is not going to WWE, which is a head scratcher for a lot

07:47of people who've seen him work.

07:49He's an incredible talent.

07:50He's somebody who really would do well in their system.

07:52He is a custom fit for NXT, and eventually could be a great fit for the main roster.

07:57So it's somewhat shocking that he is not currently signed to WWE, if you were to understand this

08:02from Sean Ross Sapp.

08:04And kind of perplexing.

08:06I've seen the guy's work.

08:07He can work with anybody, any body size, any match type.

08:10He's got great moves.

08:12The kid is super talented.

08:14I'd love to see him in the ring, in a WWE ring.

08:16I guess we'll have to wait and see.

08:17Now, if WWE is not going to sign him, perhaps AEW makes a move in.

08:21Now, if he's trying to win this, you know, Independent Wrestler of the Year thing, I get

08:25it.

08:26Maybe he's holding off signing with anybody until he earns that accolade.

08:29Maybe that's something that's super important to him.

08:31And you got to have goals.

08:33Goal setting is important all throughout your life.

08:35So, you know, more power to him if that's the case.

08:37But if not, if I was AEW and he's not going to WWE, I would swoop in and grab him.

08:41This is a talented young man, and he would bolster any roster that he's on.

08:45One of the more confusing things I saw in the news today is that if you're unfamiliar with

08:51him, Necro Butcher.

08:52If you watch Dark Side of the Ring, there was a thing about Samoa Joe and Necro Butcher having

08:56a match on one of the episodes.

08:57Really cool episode.

08:58You should check it out.

08:59If you're not familiar with his work, go look up some Combat Zone Wrestling, places like that.

09:03He also made an appearance in The Wrestler, the movie.

09:06At this point, at an advanced age, he has now signed a WWE Legends contract, despite the

09:14fact that Necro Butcher has never appeared for WWE in his life, if he's to believe that

09:21he signed this contract.

09:21I have no reason to doubt him.

09:23I just think it's ludicrous that somebody who's never been in your company somehow gets

09:27a Legends deal.

09:28How is he a WWE Legend when he's never been in WWE?

09:31WWE, it almost sours my perspective on those contracts altogether.

09:37Now, why would they do this?

09:38I don't know.

09:39I don't know what their motivation would be for associating with someone who, and I'm

09:43just going to say it's the only way I can.

09:44If you go back and look at his body of work, this is a guy who would use weed whackers

09:49on

09:49people on their stomach in matches, staple guns, all sorts of crazy, ultra-violent, hardcore

09:56wrestling.

09:57That's not typically somebody that WWE would align themselves with.

10:01Before his untimely passing, New Jack didn't have a WWE Legends deal, and he was far more

10:06popular, far bigger reputation than Necro Butcher, but they didn't give him one.

10:13So, I don't know.

10:13It's a strange...

10:14If they did indeed sign this, it's kind of perplexing for me.

10:18I don't know why that would be something they'd be interested in, but the man's getting

10:22paid.

10:23More power to him.

10:25Let WWE share some of those billions upon billions of dollars that they make for all

10:29their media rights deals.

10:30He gives some to Necro Butcher, who has given his body to the sport.

10:34Again, if you've never seen his stuff, go check it out.

10:37Man, this guy, he could take some punishment, man.

10:40And watch that Dark Side of the Ring episode from this past season, him and Samoa Joe.

10:44That was some brutal, brutal stuff.

10:46I mean, bloodbath stuff.

10:48So, crazy, crazy stuff.

10:49And then the last thing for tonight, Chris Jericho having a conversation about the potential

10:54for him to eventually go into the WWE Hall of Fame.

10:57And I love his perspective, basically highlighting that he has done so many things.

11:03He has so many memories, so many moments, so many championships, characters, storylines,

11:09all the things that he's done in WWE.

11:11And let's be honest, in WCW as well, since they purchased WCW, that obviously he has a Hall

11:18of Fame level career.

11:19But at the same time, he understands if there's tribalism or politics or whatever there is

11:25going on that would preclude him from getting it, he understands.

11:30Though, me, now this is me speaking, I don't agree with that.

11:33If your Hall of Fame is meant to be just that, a true Hall of Fame of legendary performers,

11:39here is a guy who has meant more to WWE than half the people in the Hall of Fame.

11:44Let's be honest.

11:45I'm not trying to be a jerk when I say this.

11:47A few years ago, a friend of mine at the time got me one of those cameo videos from

11:53Coco Beware.

11:54As a matter of fact, the video is on our YouTube channel.

11:57You can check it out.

11:57It's a goofy video.

11:59They got me that because I always had a thing with the fact that Coco Beware was in the

12:03WWE Hall of Fame.

12:04He was a glorified jobber his entire career in WWE, and he's in the Hall of Fame.

12:09Chris Jericho holds the record for the most intercontinental championship reigns.

12:13He's a multi-time world champion.

12:16Reinvented himself so many times, I can't even keep count of it.

12:19Then he goes, and before that, in WCW, his feud with Dean Malenko was one that I always

12:25really, really enjoyed there.

12:26The Monday Night Jericho, when he was on Nitro, the stuff he did in ECW is pretty powerful.

12:38Now, yes, you have to talk about the fact that he is one of the originators in AEW, AEW World

12:45Champion, Ring of Honor Champion.

12:47He's done stuff in New Japan Pro Wrestling that is off the chain.

12:50He was a part of the original all-in pay-per-view.

12:54So, yes, his career is absolutely multi-times over Hall of Fame worthy.

12:59Now, will WWE swallow their pride and put him into the WWE Hall of Fame?

13:04I certainly hope so.

13:05But according to Chris Jericho, he doesn't need that validation.

13:08He knows that he has a Hall of Fame career, and he's satisfied with that.

13:13He's not bitter about it.

13:14He just is what it is.

13:16And I love that perspective.

13:17I really do.

13:17Now, here's the counterpoint to that.

13:20As a wrestling fan, I need Chris Jericho in the WWE Hall of Fame.

13:23Like, if AEW came out with a Hall of Fame tomorrow, they've only been around for like, what is it,

13:29since 2019, so seven years.

13:32That is not long enough to have your own Hall of Fame.

13:35It's just not.

13:35TNA having theirs is kind of ludicrous in a lot of ways to me for as young a company as

13:40they are.

13:40I get it, but it's still kind of weird for me, especially since they started inducting

13:43people years and years ago.

13:46But WWE's Hall of Fame, even though there's not a physical building, is as legitimate a

13:50Hall of Fame as there's going to be in pro wrestling.

13:53So for me, I think he has to be in there.

13:55I expect Cauliflower Alley Club will put him into theirs, and there's the Pro Wrestling

13:59Hall of Fame that is run by Johnny Mantel and things like that.

14:03But WWE Hall of Fame needs to happen, and I know he's cool with it, but I hope WWE is

14:09more mature than that, and they put somebody who is absolutely worthy in there.

14:13But we all know that there's enough guys who are in there that shouldn't be, and there's

14:17also enough guys who should be in there who aren't, that I could easily see Jericho falling

14:21on that list for far too long.

14:22And I just hope they don't wait until he's 75 years old and passes away or something before

14:29they put them in.

14:30It would be kind of ludicrous.

14:32But I don't know, we'll have to wait and see.

14:33If I was them, I would do it sooner than later.

14:35I mean, as long as he's an in-ring competitor for AEW, not going to happen.

14:39But if he ever stops, jump on it.

14:41I'm just saying.
