00:24doom and gloom on the station i do before we get to that i do want to start with whether

00:29you were the manager whether you would have started gavin tonight or not absolutely not i i you know
00:36it's easy for everybody to say oh well he's a competitor but like you can't challenge his
00:40competitiveness obviously he's been unbelievable but we've seen time and time again in the playoffs
00:45that guys that go on short rest don't pitch well so i i just in the end i understand well
00:52if you
00:52don't win today you can't win tomorrow but if you win today and lose tomorrow that's no good either
00:57you don't get extra points for going to a seventh game and still losing so you got to win both

01:03one day you're going to have to have not not have gavin williams and i think it makes sense to
01:08not
01:08have him on the day where he would have to pitch on short rest as opposed to normal rest he
01:12was all
01:13especially if you consider the fact that in his last start in that last inning his velocity was down
01:18so i think anybody saying he should pitch tonight is wrong i think it's absolutely the right move not
01:24to pitch him tonight yeah we all agree with you there all right so it's going to be armstrong
01:28after armstrong tonight would you go bybee would you go cantillo what direction are you going
01:34i think well i i said earlier today that i i would and listen none of these options are good
01:42as we all
01:42know so it's not like we're picking between one good option and one bad i would have started bybee
01:48tonight which i know sounds crazy because he's only pitched once in the playoffs and he walked two guys
01:53and he was out of there and he didn't pitch well down the stretch and you know had a subpar
01:58season
01:59but thinking about tonight's game i said well of all the bad choices which one has the highest
02:07potential upside and to me it was tanner bybee starting okay so they're not going to do it so i
02:12think with armstrong starting and that's risky by the way coming off injury and now pitching three days
02:18in a row and these guys have seen him a bunch of times already that's part of the reason i
02:23like
02:23bybee is because they haven't seen him at all in this series i think if you're going to start
02:28armstrong then you got to go to the lefty next because after the you know after um uh camonero the
02:36rest of the lineup is much better against right-handed pitching so i think they'll go i actually think
02:42they might go foster griffin even though he pitched two days ago but it'll be either cantillo or foster
02:47griffin but i think the key is for yandy and camonero and even a ronda because he'll hit between
02:53them uh you can't they really can't let any pitcher face those guys more than one time in this game
03:00so i think we're going to see a ton of pitching changes i would consider going with bybee at some
03:08point uh with the you know facing that group and trying to get two three innings out of him
03:13because i i still think there's something something in there the guy's been a good pitcher
03:18so i don't know it's a guys it's all bad options and i'm rambling here at this point so i'll

03:22shut up bull uh where is your confidence that they're going to win tonight and extend this to a
03:28game seven tomorrow i have been one of the most confident people in this team but i'm down
03:33i'm down i'm not i i on a scale of one to ten i'm going with a four and a

03:40overly confident the rays have a big edge today but the good news is the guardians have been much
03:47better on the road this season they've been much better on the road in the playoffs uh there's only
03:52been two games this postseason where a team had a chance to be eliminated and if they won they
04:03you know didn't win the series if that's not too confusing and it's both wins but the only two wins

04:09that situation are by the guardians so i give them a shot and if they do win tonight i love

04:14obviously with gavin williams tomorrow but i don't feel great if they're gonna have guys they've scored
04:1910 runs in the last four games they've got to score i think a minimum of four and probably five

04:25to win this game if they can get the bats going yeah they got it they got a shot but
04:30they're not
04:31winning 2-1 3-2 in this game i just don't see that happening all right bull let's go to

04:35browns they get another win it's another deshaun watson fourth quarter win uh how sustainable
04:40is what they're currently doing is this something you look at and say uh this team's good and this
04:45is going to last or is this something where you look and say offense is averaging 17 points a game
04:50deshaun is hit or miss i just don't know what we're in store for here i i think it could
04:57be
04:57sustainable for one season and i think nobody could have imagined this and i know like nick you
05:04and and earl and tyvus were like three the only people i know that were confident in this team and
05:09i didn't see this at all and and that's because i didn't think the defense would be this good
05:15the defense is way better than i thought it would be and so i think that makes it sustainable
05:22in a league that offense is just down a little bit overall except for a few teams now can they
05:28make you know even if they make the playoffs can they make a run i doubt it not with deshaun
05:32watson
05:32and it's just so crazy because if you look i don't know if you guys saw this stat but
05:37first three quarters he's got the second worst qbr in the league only malik willis is worse
05:42and then in the fourth quarter he's got the ninth best qbr so i don't know if he can continue
05:48with that
05:50but if he can't continue to play well in the fourth quarter they got a shot that the defense
05:54is playing so well and carson swessinger and denzel ward in particular are just playing out of their
06:00minds it's crazy bull you mentioned the up and down offense here i i i do think they should get
06:07better as the season goes on because it's a new offensive line and a lot of young players around
06:12deshaun but what's the first domino that has to fall in line for the offense say i mean again it
06:19might just end up being league average but to kind of come together around deshaun watson
06:26good question i think it's the running game having some life and some juice and i don't know if that's
06:33quinshawn judkins or you know he just hasn't looked right all year he just has no juice i thought
06:40jaleel mclaughlin had a little juice yesterday but he's the only one so i think the only chance
06:47they have of being adequate offensively in the long term this season is if the running game improves
06:54so i guess that's part of what you were saying with the offensive line i'm not as convinced as
06:59you are that the offensive line is going to get much better i obviously i like the two young guys
07:04but i don't really like the rest of the line i mean elton jenkins is fine but the other two
07:09spots i
07:10think are they don't have a long-term answer i don't know why they signed titus howard to that
07:15that contract i thought that was a mistake but if the running game can significantly improve
07:21then you you'll have a better chance of surviving when deshaun watson's inconsistent
07:27did we write jerry judy off too fast i think so you know we're all so extreme these days myself
07:35included it's like we sometimes we ignore the nuance and like a guy doesn't have to be a 10 or

07:43you know i think the browns made a mistake when they gave him an extension when he first got here

07:49obviously he had he did have a good first season but he's always been pretty inconsistent in his career
07:54and last year was terrible but the whole team was terrible and it was a terrible situation but

09:37to like part of me if you heard todd todd munkin at halftime like his comments made you think they
09:43were close to benching him and so like one minute you're thinking about benching him but i mean i

09:55quickly he gets out of the pocket too quick like that you don't usually hear coaches say that to the
10:00halftime reporter but he did because he was frustrated and deshaun watson is frustrating to watch but
10:06week after week since week two he plays his best football at the end of the game isn't that what
