00:07Hi, I'm Chloe with Refinery29, and today on IDOI, we're going to create a colorful summer
00:12necklace that's perfect for day and night. So let's get started. What you'll need are
00:16two colors of parachute rope, two colors of nylon rope, pliers, scissors, a gold chain,
00:24and a necklace fastener. So for your first step, you're going to start braiding the
00:27different colors of rope, and I just guesstimated about an arm's length for all the pieces.
00:34And I'm going to cut two red pieces and cut one pink piece. You'll want to tie a loose
00:40knot at the end, and then I'm going to loosely braid all three strands. Then once you finish
00:46braiding, you'll want to create another red and pink rope and also a third rope with the
00:50yellow kind. Then once you finish braiding the yellow rope, you'll want to go ahead and untie
00:56all of the three ropes at the end and tie them all together into one knot. So once you tied
01:02the large knot, you'll want to go ahead and keep braiding as you did before. Then at the
01:06end, tie another knot. Then I'm going to take a simple gold chain and use my pliers to open
01:13up and attach this little necklace fastener. Next, you'll want to take the fastened end and
01:19slip it through the knot. Pull it about an inch out. Next, I'm just going to weave the chain through
01:25the braided rope. And once you've pulled that taut, trim the ends of the rope on either side.
01:31Then you'll just want to tidy up the ends here. And that's it. Now you have a great bold necklace
01:36for summer.
