00:00Appreciate it as always. And, um, certainly a great win, but a tough one. And, um, I know you
00:06guys have been asked a lot about, uh, Jack Campbell, but just your reaction to hearing
00:11that there's positive news, uh, the details that are not public, but just the fact that it's at
00:17least positive has to have you guys feeling a little bit better. Yeah, man, absolutely. I mean,
00:24we're all, uh, we're all praying for Jack in this time. And, um, you know, it's the, the news
00:30being positive today is great. And so we're all, uh, we're all keeping in mind, um, you know,
00:35right now and these past couple of days. So we're all praying for him. Yeah. And he wasn't the only
00:40guy that was hurt and certainly not nearly as severe, but you guys had a lot of people go down
00:45defensively in that game. What does it say about your depth guys, your Trevor Nowoskis, your,
00:51your Malcolm Rodriguez, uh, the, the players that Khalil Dorsey that had to step in and make
00:56plays for you guys in, in what was such a huge game? Yeah, man. I mean, that's just, um, yeah,
01:04it's a testament to those guys and their level of preparation. Um, when you don't really know
01:09how many snaps you're going to get in a game, but you still prepare at a high level, you know,
01:12that's a, it goes to show, um, you know, how professional those dudes are. And, um, yeah,
01:17man, it was just a, it's a peculiar game all around. I feel like just with,
01:21so many, you know, two carts on the field, taking dudes out of it. Like, it's just like,
01:26it was just a weird game, man. Um, I don't know if something, something was in the air,
01:30but it was, um, I'm glad it's over with. That's for sure. Yeah. I asked, uh, Jared a while
01:36ago about, uh, feeling, I have to imagine was just completely exhausted emotionally and
01:40physically drained after this one. He's like, yeah, I fell asleep right away. Uh, when I got
01:44home, was it the same for you? No, no, I, I, to me, it was, uh, I don't know. It
01:52was
01:53after that game, it was just the weirdest feeling just with Jack and everything. And then even DJ
01:59leaving the game on a car, I think he left on a car. I don't know if I remember correctly.
02:03And
02:03the BB was, it was just like so many things happened. And, um, man, I don't know. It was,
02:09uh, just a lot of my mind. These really after the game, these past couple of days,
02:14it's just been even getting a win. It was, it was, it was good, but it was, uh, I don't
02:19know. There was, uh, just so much, it feels like so much stuff happened on defense to where
02:25it's just, it's just a lot to process. Yeah. How's your mind space now? It's good. It's
02:31good. Yeah. It's, uh, it's still, I think it's just still, uh, I don't know. It's still
02:38kind of just a lot of stuff's in the air right now. A lot of stuff's up in the air.
02:43So, um,
02:44just, uh, you know, I think once we get to tomorrow and we, cause we're off today. So
02:50once we get into tomorrow into our first second down game plan for Miami, we can kind of really,
02:55uh, put all our focus on that, but, um, yeah, definitely still, still processing for sure.
03:01The last three games, the defense has allowed just 53 points after games like Carolina and,
03:07you know, some of the results earlier in the year, what changed most defensively that
03:13has had you guys be more, uh, more stingy and keep teams out of the end zone?
03:20Yeah, I don't know. I, maybe it's, uh, um, just an energy shift and attitude adjustment,
03:27uh, up front really with, with our whole defense and just a, a change in the standard of what,
03:34what's acceptable and what's not, you know, and, um, probably it's probably a combination
03:39of factors though. But, uh, yeah, as players, you just try to do as much as, as, as much as
03:44you can, um, within your control to try to, uh, you know, get things rolling again. And
03:49I think, man, we've been playing at a high level these past three weeks. And so it's something
03:54that for our team, we're going to have success. It's got to, it's got to start with us.
03:58Was there a tough love moment that helped to galvanize you guys as a unit? Was it, was
04:03there one voice that you guys really resonates with you guys?
04:11Oh, you know, I mean, yeah, I mean, we, we, we all had a conversation together and I think
04:16it was really productive and I think, um, it's, um, it was super beneficial for, uh, for how
04:23far we've come. But I think as far as a lot of those conversations, I think we just like
04:27to keep those in house, but I think, uh, getting on the same page with everybody I
04:31thought was, was, was super crucial. A couple of plays from the game. Uh, one I
04:35want to talk about the first play of the fourth quarter, Minnesota's got a third and
04:3915 and your defensive alignment, everybody was like standing up and just kind of
04:45wandering around. There was nobody in a three point stance. What are you hoping to
04:48accomplish there? And do you like playing that, that, that, that specific defense
04:53where you guys are all standing up at the snap?
04:57Yeah. We had a similar call last week, uh, or a similar presentation to start. Uh, I
05:04think it was a third or second down against green Bay. And, um, I think I got a hit on
05:08that play. So just trying to, you know, as you're trying to play the game as a coordinator,
05:12you're trying to present the same look, but with a different outcome, you know? So, um,
05:19it's definitely, I wouldn't say it's the most comfortable thing. Like, you know, you
05:22got to time it right, but it definitely, uh, it, it put, it makes the offense, uh, they
05:28kind of screws with their protection cause they don't really know who's going to end
05:31up where. And, uh, so it definitely, I think it's, it's beneficial for our defense for sure.
05:36And then later, and unfortunately it came right after the injury, but they're facing a fourth
05:40and four and you got in Kyler Murray's face on that pass that DJ Reed eventually broke up.
05:46Um, and that play take us through that from beginning to end. Cause that was a crucial stop.
05:52Yeah, man. I mean, it was right after Jack got taken off and, uh, it was just a, it was
05:57super
05:58emotional moment, man. And, um, one that, uh, I hope we never have to go through again, you know,
06:06cause it's like, you're, you're, uh, you're, you're, you're on this, uh, tedious line of like
06:12football and like reality. And you're kind of flipping back and forth.
06:16And, um, yeah, that was one of those ones where, you know, I, uh, had to switch back into football
06:23mode after, after something like that. And I just felt like there was a lot of, uh, emotions coursing
06:30through my veins. And, uh, yeah, it was, uh, it was really an, an out of body thing. I feel
06:37like it
06:37was, I feel like I wasn't really even, and I talked to most of the guys too. And most of
06:41the guys,
06:42like for the rest of that game, it just felt like we were all just, you know, um,
06:50I don't know. I'm trying to think of the right word. Uh, it just felt not real. You know, it
06:56just
06:57felt like we were all, uh, just playing almost, uh, you're playing this game, but with something
07:04that's so big just happened, it was, uh, I don't know, it just, the game just felt a little bit
07:09less important, you know, and maybe, uh, uh, I don't know, maybe that, that served us well too
07:15in the end, you know, it kind of got guys. I mean, you, when something like that happens,
07:19you kind of come back down to reality a little bit and, um, yeah, but I think on that play,
07:24man, there was just a lot of emotion, emotion going through and, um, yeah, ended up making a,
07:30making a good play. DJ had good coverage and we got off the field. So you played more than 90
07:34%
07:35of the snaps on defense against the Vikings. What happened to playing a little bit less?
07:42Hey, we're going to use Hutch a little bit less, keep them fresher. And there you go.
07:46I think it was 93% of the snaps on defense. What was going on?
07:51You know, uh, like for the, we were getting a lot of quick stops, you know, so I'm, I'm cool
07:58if we're,
07:58if we're out there for three plays, you know, it's, it's the drives that go long that I have
08:05made an intention on trying to be better at subbing myself out. If it's like a 10 to 15 play
08:11drive, which we've had in the past. So it's more of those ones that I think can wear on your
08:17tank.
08:17But if we're going out there and we're getting stops in three, four or five plays, I have no issue,
08:22you know, going out there and playing. And, um, in that fourth quarter too, um, after,
08:28uh, we got that stop on fourth down, which with the amount of emotional ups and downs of this game,
08:34I, it was, it was bizarre. I've never, we went out the next drive and I had about three plays
08:39in the
08:39tank and I just had to sub myself. I think it was just so much going on in that game
08:44was, uh, you
08:46know, was, uh, just affecting, you know, with the emotions and everything, just affecting my own
08:51endurance. So it was, it was something that I had to sell myself out of the fourth quarter. But yeah,
08:56I think again, it's with those, with those shorter drives that were, you know, if we're getting stops
09:01on defense, you know, you're just more fresh overall, you know? So I felt good. I felt really
09:05good during the game. If DJ Wanham can't go this weekend, there's a couple of young guys that fans
09:10have asked us about. One is Derek Moore. The other is Ahmed Hassanin, who hasn't been up yet. Can you
09:15tell us where those guys are and maybe what you've seen out of them in case they're relied upon?
09:22Yeah. I mean, I, I, if I was a betting man, I'd say Ahmed's probably getting his opportunity this
09:27weekend. Um, Derek Moore is going to be out there for sure. Um, but yeah, I mean, both those guys,
09:35I mean, I think Demo has shown a ton of, uh, progression these first few weeks. And, um, and
09:41I know Ahmed is just, um, he's just itching to get out there, man. He can't wait. So I think
09:47it's going to be a really good opportunity for, for, for both those guys and, um, couldn't be
09:52happier for him. Not, not at DJ's expense, but man, I'm, uh, I think in the NFL dudes are going
09:59to go down sometimes and that, that presents opportunities for dudes, uh, for other guys.
10:03Got a game coming up against Miami. Malik Willis is another quarterback who makes plays with his feet
10:08and extends plays. How much does it help you guys as a defense overall, having just played against
10:13Kyla Murray in preparation for Malik Willis? Uh, yeah, you know, in this league, it's just
10:21another mobile quarterback, you know, I think it's just the standard at this point. So, um,
10:26it's just, uh, yeah, it's just kind of par for the course. So we've got to be good with rush
10:30lanes
10:30and, um, can't let it, I can't let the quarterback slow us down on, uh, on our rushes.
10:36All right. Uh, every week we ask, uh, fans to send in questions. Kang, our producer behind
10:40the glass has a question for you this week. All right, Hutch. This one comes from Bobby
10:44and Clinton Township. He wants to know, as you know, your quarterback, Jared Goff had
10:49a baby last year. Let's say Jared drove over to your house, had no one else to drop the
10:54baby off to and needed you to watch his baby. How long could you last? And what's your first
10:58move? Oh my God. All right. Let me see. Uh, how long could I last? I mean, okay. I have
11:09a, I have a rebuttal back at you. How old is this baby? One and a half. Have you ever
11:13changed
11:13a diaper before? Never changed a diaper. Um, man. Uh, how long could I last? Are you calling
11:24your mom? Are you calling your sisters? Yeah. Um, I mean, if I can bring in reinforcements,
11:30I'll be fine. But if I'm, uh, if I'm, if I'm alone, it's, um, I got a few hours, but
11:36yeah, if that, if that diaper gets a little full, if the baby starts, I don't have the
11:40tips and tricks like, like some people have. So I could definitely do it. Uh, I'd be a willing
11:45participant, but, um, man, the effectiveness, uh, I'm not sure. I'm not sure about it.
11:51Hutch, we appreciate your time. Thank you very much. We'll talk again next week and,
11:55uh, hang in there. All right. Thanks guys. Aiden Hutchinson. You can tell that the Campbell
12:01injury definitely looming on their mind. Oh, no question. Two, four, eight, five, three,
12:08nine, 97, 97. It's Carson Anderson. All right. Uh, we've been talking trade. Uh, obviously
12:13this, uh, the trade deadline as it looms, um, you know, the, the lions have got it. You have
12:20to think, got to find some guys, uh, given how many players have been hurt. Well, they
12:24certainly need to health up. There's no doubt about that. And we don't know the timeline
12:29of some of these players when they're coming back and the news on Rolder isn't good. He's
12:32out for the rest of the year with that hamstring injury. He was really developing into being
12:37a guy that was just making plays at a linebacker position. Uh, obviously things have changed because
12:43of Sunday's game with where the focus is going to be. And I'm curious to see what the lions
12:47view of the focus to be, because I do think they're going to do something before Tuesday's
12:52trade deadline. Uh, but are they going to do multiple things or are they just going to go
12:58out and get, you know, one position's worth of a player that should make a difference?
