00:03 - A lot of people's takeaway was,
00:04 man, this course was difficult to hear,
00:06 but you were five under for a couple of guys at the top.
00:10 The weather is supposed to be getting worse
00:12 as this tournament goes on,
00:15 but right now there are some low and steady scores
00:19 developing here in round number two.
00:22 - Yes, if we just take a look, Kevin,
00:23 and try to talk about round number one
00:25 and how it played out,
00:26 like being on the radio yesterday talking about it,
00:28 I thought one point was very interesting.
00:29 Number one, you had an amateur here
00:31 that was leading the way,
00:32 at least tied with two other guys
00:34 at the end of the first round, which was interesting.
00:36 But the price points of the Fandul Sportsbook,
00:38 yesterday when that round was wrapping up,
00:40 you had Tommy Fleetwood as the leader in the clubhouse
00:43 with great odds to win the tournament.
00:44 And then you saw Lamprak, who's the amateur,
00:47 he was eight and a one in the lead at the British Open,
00:50 which tells you that we don't think that's going to continue
00:52 for the next three days.
00:53 But you're right about it.
00:54 Just watching the golf and watching it extensively,
00:57 that course looks really, really tough, it does.
01:01 - And that's what I know most people want
01:04 out of the majors though, right?
01:06 I mean, again, it's not hard to remember at the US Open,
01:09 you know, a couple of opening round
01:11 record-setting performances from Ricky Fowler
01:13 and Xander Schauffele had people like you saying,
01:16 "Hold on a minute, what have they done to my US Open?
01:19 "Did you restart this tournament here?
01:21 "This is not what I'm looking for."
01:22 And the tournament did play harder the rest of the way here,
01:24 but people want a challenge of a course.
01:26 And so far, we've seen that here.
01:29 So for me, DRS, kind of, you know,
01:31 pre-tournament situations,
01:33 I did ultimately land on Scotty Scheffler.
01:36 And I know you kind of landed on Rory McIlroy,
01:39 but I am backing Rory today.
01:42 His round score prop was 70 and a half.
01:45 Rory, for the first time,
01:47 snapped a four-event streak of that opening round
01:52 being under par.
01:53 Shot it even yesterday, hardly a bad round,
01:55 but that's just how good of a form Rory has been in.
01:58 However, the last two times that his opening round
02:00 was not under par,
02:02 goes out there round two, DRS,
02:04 and just lights the course on fire.
02:07 He's off to a great start right now.
02:09 If you look at it through his first seven holes here,
02:11 a pair of birdies, everything else is par.
02:13 Rory right now, T11.
02:16 - Yeah, it looks like he's in a position
02:18 to actually make another par right now,
02:19 with sometimes in the British Open,
02:20 or the Open, as they call it now,
02:22 that's just as important, possibly,
02:24 just not ruining around with the bogey
02:26 and playing birdie, goth at that time.
02:28 But looking overall here at Rory Mackerel,
02:29 I'm impressed here, Kevin, because you're right.
02:31 You don't want the tournament to get away from him.
02:32 He came in with a lot of momentum
02:34 winning the Scottish Open,
02:35 didn't play all that well yesterday,
02:36 but also, you can't win the tournament, Kevin,
02:39 on a Thursday, right?
02:40 You can't lose the tournament on a Thursday, technically.
02:43 He's playing good goth today, two under,
02:45 and also, you brought up a very good point.
02:47 If you get in with a solid round today,
02:50 and the weather starts to change a little bit later,
02:52 that's advantage for you.
02:54 Rory's playing great goth here.
02:55 Maybe he moves in tomorrow, moving day,
02:57 makes it really interesting,
02:58 if we do see some of that wind and rain.
