00:02 - But what can this change in ownership,
00:07 now made official, do for this team's mentality?
00:10 - I think it's nice to be done with the clown show,
00:14 but there's other franchises out there
00:16 that deal with the law on a regular basis
00:19 from ownership groups, and it can be distracting.
00:23 There are some owners that are very supportive
00:25 and don't necessarily have successful teams.
00:28 It's a hard thing to measure,
00:30 but I will say it's got to be at least a relief
00:33 for the coaching staff in the short term
00:36 to not have to worry about all the investigations
00:39 that are ongoing.
00:41 But in the medium to long term,
00:43 you have to wonder whether or not
00:45 this coaching staff sticks around.
00:47 Ron Rivera obviously has a ton of respect
00:50 from around the league.
00:51 He's in the fourth year of a five-year deal.
00:55 Owners typically want to make their mark
00:57 with splashy moves and coaching changes
00:59 and perhaps general manager and presidential changes
01:02 if needed, but I think you have to wonder
01:05 where this franchise is this year.
01:08 Solid defensive club, good numbers from last year.
01:11 I think eight, eight and one was surprising
01:13 for a lot of people considering the way they played offense.
01:16 Very old school, not dynamic in any way,
01:19 which is frustrating when you have a player
01:21 like Terry McLaurin on the field.
01:24 We'll see if they can do anything to improve it,
01:26 and Eric Biennemi will obviously do his best
01:28 to try to make these quarterbacks,
01:30 and particularly Sam Howell, play a lot better
01:32 than they did one season ago.
