00:03 - That was the Washington Commanders
00:04 over the Baltimore Ravens ending
00:06 the Baltimore Ravens 24 pre-game pre-season win streak,
00:10 which was pretty impressive.
00:12 Now, the thing I liked about this one is
00:13 you sort of could see it coming on the horizon, Mike.
00:15 And the reason being is you're not gonna be able to win
00:17 every single game in the pre-season,
00:19 but since 2015, the Baltimore Ravens have done that.
00:22 You saw the commanders yesterday say,
00:24 "All right, we're gonna run our starting offense out there
00:26 for quite a bit to see if we can ramp this thing up
00:28 with Eric Bien-Ami's new offense."
00:30 And they did, and they look good in doing that.
00:31 But this was a Ravens team with a lot of backups
00:34 to backups out on the field.
00:36 They played extremely well,
00:37 and it took a late field goal, basically,
00:39 at the gun to win it for the commanders 29 to 28.
00:43 And you saw at the end of the game,
00:44 there was a little bit of celebrating going on
00:46 in the commander's sideline.
00:47 New owner liked the win, the team was ready for it,
00:49 and also an offensive lineman yesterday basically saying,
00:52 "This is the dumbest streak I've ever seen,
00:54 and we are going to end it."
00:56 And the commanders, they did end it, Mike.
00:59 - Yeah, Sam Cosme didn't have kind words
01:01 before the game about the streak,
01:03 and he called his shot.
01:05 Josh Harris, the new owner,
01:07 some awkward antics in the booth with Joe Buck,
01:09 shaking hands when it wasn't a handshake.
01:12 But a big part of this, Donnie,
01:14 the Ravens ran 49 offensive plays,
01:19 and the Washington commanders ran 78 offensive plays.
01:24 So they got a lot of reps in.
01:25 Washington threw the ball a ton.
01:28 Three quarterbacks in last night.
01:29 Howell goes 19 of 25 for 188 and two touchdowns
01:34 from 10 of 16 with a touchdown,
01:37 and Jacoby Brissett, seven for 11 for 47 yards.
01:41 So they were chucking the ball all around the field,
01:44 and at times looked pretty good.
01:46 Sam Howell made some nice plays
01:47 at the end of the first half there
01:49 against number two defenders,
01:52 but still, I thought there were some positive things
01:54 to take out of there.
01:56 Some, a good rapport, obviously, with De'Ami Brown,
01:59 his former college teammate,
02:02 and then Terry McCorrin, I think, was a story last night
02:05 because he came out of the game
02:07 with what looked like a sprained ankle.
02:09 I think he's avoided any serious injuries, X-rays negative,
02:12 and it didn't look to be as severe
02:14 as some other high ankle sprains that we've seen,
02:17 but that's something to monitor.
02:18 I think the other highlights there
02:20 is Zay Flowers on the first drive
02:23 working with Josh Johnson.
02:24 Makes a really nice, explosive play
02:26 and scores a touchdown.
02:27 There's been a lot of positives out of camp
02:30 regarding Zay Flowers,
02:32 and I think he's somebody to keep an eye on
02:35 in the offensive rookie of the year chase.
