00:03Hello, it's Sunday the 20th September and this is your weather forecast for South Australia,
00:07Victoria and Tasmania for the week ahead. As you can see, there's not much rain in the forecast.
00:11A lot of this rain down here in Tassie is coming tonight, so Sunday, as a front moves through,
00:16which is why today has been a bit breezy. It was warm, then it cooled off. Beautiful. Let's get
00:21into this week. So actually starting off, this is, let's start here. This is the current wind
00:26warnings because of that front that's moving through. They persist into Monday as that front
00:30starts to move into the Tasman. And then they should ease as the high starts to move through
00:36by Tuesday and Wednesday. Let's have a look now at the rainfall forecast. So this is the front moving
00:42through, delivering five to 10 mils to the west coast of Tasmania, which is not a lot of rain for
00:46the west coast. And then it's pretty much dry everywhere else. Monday, it's still dry. You can
00:50see that the high is starting to move over again. Then by Tuesday, the high firmly sits over there
00:55and we're starting, South Australia might be warming up by around Tuesday. There's a little
01:00bit of a more northerly direction to the flow. But by Wednesday, we're starting to see sort of
01:05regular spring temperatures again. Again, no rain in any of these three states. And then Thursday and
01:11Friday, it's warming up again. So Thursday, again, really not any rain for those three states.
01:17Same for Friday. Saturday, maybe a little bit of a shower across southern Victoria. And then
01:24Tasmania could be seeing anywhere from sort of one to maybe five mils. And then Sunday,
01:30relatively mild there as well. You can probably see this quite behind my head. Got a new setup
01:36today. There's quite an active system here in WA that doesn't really seem to come across
01:41into South Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, but potentially next week that might start shifting
01:45across. So maybe a little bit of rain at the start of next week. All right. Speaking of wind gusts,
01:51today, Sunday night is probably our windiest night. We're seeing gusts 63 to 90 kilometres
01:55an hour, which are making their way inland, especially in Tasmania. Very, very, very strong
01:59gusts. So probably dangerous, hazardous wind there in Tasmania, which is why that bushwalking
02:03warning has been issued. All right. As for temperatures, I moved ahead to Friday because
02:10Thursday and Friday seem to be a little bit warmer. You can see South Australia, large parts,
02:1535 to 40 degrees, even down here on the coastal areas. Same for Northern Victoria. And then in Tassie
02:23on the East Coast, we're 20 to 25 degrees. So it's quite warm. Just to put into context that,
02:28yes, it has been warmer than usual. I thought I'd pull up the one day maximum temperature anomaly
02:32for yesterday, Saturday, the 19th of September. And as you can see, large parts of South Australia
02:39and Victoria were eight to 10 degrees above their maximum temperature mean. So she's roasty toasty.
02:46I'm not imagining it. But when we look at the one week, we're seeing sort of two to four degrees
02:52Celsius, which is a mix of a global warming trend and also a slightly warmer spring this year than
02:57usual because of our El Nino. All righties, that is it for this week. As you can see, not a
03:03lot of rain
03:03on the way. Windiest conditions are at the start. Potential rain sort of Friday, if that. And there
03:09might be a lightning storm attached with it, just depending on where you are. Okay. Stay safe.
