01:53Tonight is a sad day in the wrestling world.

01:56Earlier today, it was reported that WB Sign Guy had passed away after some health ailments and health issues.

02:05That's a tough pill to swallow and I've seen a lot of outpouring of love and support for him throughout

02:09the day on social media.

02:11And then tonight, I open my computer and I'm just going through some things and I get breaking news

02:15that All Elite Wrestling, AEW, has announced the untimely passing of Benjamin Satterley, known to wrestling fans around the world

02:24as Pac.

02:25Pac, who wrestled in WWE on their NXT brand and in the main roster as Adrian Neville and eventually Neville,

02:33was just 40 years old.

02:34And sadly, he has passed away.

02:37No details about what led to his untimely passing have been released as of the recording of this episode.

02:44But I'll be very honest with you.

02:47As I've done this show over the last several years, Pac is somebody who I don't often talk enough about

02:53because I'm a huge fan.

02:55But I also know that some people, when he left WWE, the circumstances he left under, some of the things

03:01over the years that he's done in terms of where he's wrestled, what he could have done.

03:07He could have been so much in WWE and left.

03:09He had some contractual issues, issues with having to, they wanted him to take a loss to Enzo Amore at

03:13one point.

03:14And that's when he walked out on Raw.

03:15I just didn't love the way he handled business.

03:17And I know when I posted about that when it first happened, I got a lot of flack and comments

03:21and things like that.

03:22So I've sometimes pulled back on my coverage of Pac, unless it's relevant to a current show.

03:27But the truth is, Pac is one of the best pound-for-pound wrestlers in the world.

03:31He really, really is.

03:32This is a guy who has spent the majority of his wrestling career as a cruiserweight of sorts.

03:38And despite that size, has been able to put on matches that are of the best quality, compete with anybody

03:46out there, anybody in the world.

03:49And if you don't know enough about this guy, where he comes from and everything he's done,

03:53you know, this is a guy who is literally 16 years old.

03:57And at 16 years old, decided he was going to be a professional wrestler.

04:01And he didn't just become a pro wrestler, go to a training school and all that stuff.

04:05He started his journey doing, like, backyard companies.

04:11TWXW in, I believe it was in someplace like Gatesheed or something like that.

04:17He was in FXW, which is another, like, backyard-ish style company in Middlesboro.

04:22And then he was in Scarsboro Wrestling Alliance and Essex Championship Wrestling and 3-Count Wrestling.

04:27These are all really small promotions throughout the United Kingdom and really started making a name for himself.

04:36He, you know, showed up in places like New Japan and Chikara, Full Impact Pro.

04:45As a matter of fact, in Full Impact Pro, in 2006, he ended up being tag team partners with the

04:49guy who,

04:50Sheamus O'Shaughnessy, who had become just Sheamus in WWE, challenging for the British Championship Wrestling Tag Team Championships.

04:58I mean, this guy's been in so many places.

05:01CMLL, IPW.

05:04He's been in so many places.

05:08If you remember, the Ultimate Warrior's last match was for New Wrestling Evolution.

05:12Pac was a part of that corporation.

05:14He went to American Wrestling Rampage, where he had a very eventful and crucial part of his career.

05:22He wrestled in a match against Kevin Owens and El Generico, now known as Sami Zayn.

05:28And Kevin Steen and El Generico.

05:32Kevin Steen, now Kevin Owens, was so impressed, as was Sami Zayn, that they went to the owner and promoter

05:38of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla

05:39and basically gave their backing of bringing him in.

05:44He ends up going to Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and doing so much there.

05:48He became PWG Tag Team Champions with Roderick Strong in Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

05:54He's just, he's done so much.

05:57And he's been so many.

05:58And the number of matches that people don't even realize he's had.

06:02He had a series of matches with El Generico that were literally recommended for awards throughout the year.

06:07Pro Wrestling Observer and all that kind of stuff because they were just so incredible.

06:10He was on TNA's Impact Tour in Portugal.

06:12He wrestled for Ring of Honor.

06:14But he's had matches with people like Chris Hero.

06:17He defeated Claudio Castagnoli in Battle of Los Angeles Tournament.

06:21He wrestled, you know, the Young Bucks in their early days.

06:25Like, this guy has had such a history with so many premium wrestlers.

06:31And like, so tonight when I see this news, it just hits like a freight train because I've been a

06:36fan for so long.

06:37And I always felt like he was on a level he never was given the opportunity to showcase.

06:46More places, I mean, he's IWF, RQW, One Pro.

06:51Like, he's Dragon Gate.

06:52The guy was in Dragon Gate and won essentially every major championship in Dragon Gate.

06:57Moved over to Dragon Gate USA and won championships there.

07:01He was in Chikara wrestling in the singles division, tag division, their trios division, winning championships there.

07:08When he finally gets to NXT is when I think his biggest exposure starts to take off.

07:14Early in his NXT career, he starts becoming a tag team wrestler with, gosh, I'm trying to remember the guy's

07:21name.

07:21He was tag team with, it was like Oliver Gray or something like that.

07:26They were the inaugural NXT tag team champions as British Ambition.

07:31Then eventually they lose the tag team championship.

07:33Well, actually his partner blew out his ACL and eventually takes on a new partner.

07:36Somebody you're all familiar with, Corey Graves.

07:38And he and Corey Graves won the NXT tag team championship as well.

07:42Eventually he'll move on into singles competition in NXT.

07:45He ends up having a few, first he teams with Bo Dallas.

07:48Then he ends up having a feud with Bo Dallas.

07:50And at the time, Bo Dallas was the NXT champion.

07:54He ends up facing, and eventually after a couple opportunities, getting, I think it was his third or fourth shot

07:59at the title,

07:59he defeated Bo Dallas to become the NXT champion.

08:03And, you know, had a lengthy run with that championship.

08:07And was a huge part of the NXT division, the black and gold era that people speak so fondly of.

08:13From there, he goes, you know, 205 live, where they make the Cruiserweight Championship something of merit.

08:19He is the longest ever title holder of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

08:24Won the title twice, and he had the longest reign.

08:27It was during that reign that he had some issues.

08:31He ends up, you know, being asked to drop a match to Enzo Amore on Raw.

08:35He had difficulty with the booking.

08:38I don't know if it was a respect issue, if he thought that the match should have taken place on

08:41a pay-per-view or what it was.

08:43But it led to a falling out, and Pac ended up leaving, or Neville, ended up leaving WWE, and I

08:49believe it was 2018, I think.

08:52Took about a year where he traveled to various independents, you know, back to OnePro, different places, bouncing around, back

09:00to Dragon Gate, won the championship in Dragon Gate USA that year.

09:03And then 2019 is where we, you know, 2018 is actually, that's where he coined the term the Bastard Pack.

09:11He added a little gruffness to his character.

09:142019 signs with AEW and becomes eventually their first ever inaugural international champion.

09:21He joins a trios team, the Death Triangle, with Penta and Ray Phoenix, which, just think about that on paper.

09:28He was the first double champion in AEW, holding that international championship and the trios title at the same time.

09:35And this guy, later on, he would win the trios championship again, this time with the Death Riders, teaming with

09:40Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.

09:42He's done so much, you know, and the people he's worked with.

09:45I mean, let's be honest, I said earlier about him winning the tag team championship at NXT.

09:49He won those tag team championships by defeating the Wyatt family, Luke Harper and Eric Rowan.

09:55Legendary tag team.

09:56You know what I mean?

09:56Like, this guy has been in there with so many people.

09:58Had a feud with Austin Aries over the Cruiserweight Championship at WWE.

10:03They got an opportunity to wrestle at WrestleMania.

10:05Like, there's just...

10:09I've never seen a bad pack match.

10:11Ever.

10:12Not even close.

10:13And I think what hurts the most reading this news today was that just 24 hours earlier, not even 24

10:19hours earlier,

10:21he's in the ring with one of the most incredible wrestlers in the world right now, Andrade El Idolo.

10:26Challenging for the national championship at All Out.

10:3010,000 seats sold out arena.

10:32Putting on one of the best matches of the night.

10:35And this short...

10:37Just hours later, he's gone.

10:40You know?

10:41And look, I've done episodes when various talents have passed away in the past.

10:47I think the most emotional one I ever did was the passing of Hulk Hogan.

10:50There's been others that have really affected me.

10:53Pac, I think what's really getting me about Pac is that I really felt like at some point,

11:00Tony Khan would have to give him an opportunity.

11:03He would have to let him show everything that he had.

11:06And unfortunately, that hasn't been the case.

11:10And I really...

11:11I just...

11:13I wanted so much more for him.

11:15And when it comes to the news breaking, I think Cage Side Seats was the first one I saw.

11:20I saw AEW's post.

11:21Then I started looking.

11:22I saw Cage Side Seats had it.

11:23At this point, Wrestling Inc. has it up there.

11:26E-Wrestling News.

11:27Everybody's posting about it.

11:29And the announcement from All Elite Wrestling.

11:32All Elite Wrestling sad to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, a.k.a. Pac, a native

11:37of Newcastle, upon Toon, England.

11:40Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations

11:44all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible

11:48in-ring ability.

11:49Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW championships and competed

11:53in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history.

11:56Our condolences go out to Satterley's family, friends, and fans.

12:00Right now, there are no details about his death and nothing's been made immediately available.

12:09Obviously, my sincere condolences to his friends, families, other talents, wrestlers who've

12:14shared the ring with Pac.

12:15And it's like a who's who, you know, from Seamus to, you know, to Will Ospreay to John Moxley

12:24to Claudio Castagnoli to Chris Hero, the Young Bucks, like all these guys, Kevin Owens, Sammy

12:30Zane.

12:31And I can't imagine, even Seth Rollins, Seth Rollins, if you don't know, was Tyler Black

12:36going through Ring of Honor and going through Pro Wrestling Guerrilla.

12:39Like these guys, as much as they may be polarized now because they're in different companies,

12:43it's a fraternity, it's a brotherhood, it's a friendship that goes beyond the organization

12:49you work for right now.

12:50These guys were in the ring together, shared time in the ring together, and had meaningful

12:55matches.

12:55Matches that defined a generation of Pro Wrestling Guerrilla and Ring of Honor in their

13:00early days.

13:00Like if you go back and watch some of those, they're some of the most hard-hitting but

13:04incredible matches you'll ever see.

13:06If you can find Chikara matches, Pac and Chikara is next level.

13:11You know, Chikara's not around anymore.

13:13They went out of business a few years back, but, and I apologize to anybody who tunes into

13:17my show normally.

13:18Normally, I try to be very eloquent.

13:19I usually have everything scripted out that I want to say, and I know I'm kind of rambling

13:23all over the place tonight.

13:23I'm still kind of feeling the effects of this because it's hard enough when you see wrestlers

13:29go in their 60s and their 70s, even their late 50s, when they were heroes of yours and

13:35you grew up watching him.

13:36Pac, much younger guy, he's 40.

13:38You know, I'm 10 years older than Pac, you know?

13:42And even in the short amount of time I got to see him wrestle, he left a mark.

13:47His matches left a mark.

13:48Everything about his moveset left a mark.

13:53Just an incredible wrestler.

13:55Incredible wrestler.

13:56So sad to see him go so young.

13:58And honestly, guys, if you're tuning into this show, if you appreciate this episode, I hate

14:48incredible energy.

14:49His just endurance was off the chain.

14:52And sadly, we've lost Pac, formerly known as Neville, way too soon.
