00:08I'm in the company of François Gerin, the president of Ampère de Saint National Committee.
00:13Hi, welcome.
00:14Hi.
00:15Could you tell us more about this commemorative project Ampère de Saint and its goal?
00:20André-Marie Ampère is a scientist.
00:23His discoveries have marked the history of science and electricity.
00:28Therefore, it's legitimate to honor Ampère for the discovery of Electrodynamic Laws by Sanctuary.
00:38As SEE, we aim to make Ampère's work and merits known by paying a national and international tribute to this
00:49site.
00:49What is your role in this project?
00:53For over 90 years now, and through Ampère Legacy, both SEE and SAMA, les Amis de André-Marie Ampère, are
01:04the guardians of an exceptional cultural and scientific heritage.
01:11This commemoration is an opportunity for many people in the field to meet and discuss on the importance of electricity
01:21in our modern world,
01:23and present the challenges for the future and train young people.
01:28What are the actions that have been done to put forward Ampère de Saint ?
01:32Through this initiative, sponsored by Gérard Moreau, Physics Nobel Prize 2018, Ampère de Saint-Anne commemoration aims to increase Ampère's
01:45notoriety and present him as an example to our youth,
01:49give electricity a positive image among younger generations in a context of sustainable development and energy transition.
02:00The events include museums exhibitions and various conferences and activities.
02:07The website Ampère200ans.fr has been created to promote them.
02:13Among those events, I'd like to stress the National Ampère 2020 Day in November 2020,
02:22the National Ampère 200ans Day on October 5th, 2022 in Lyon, closing the commemoration.
02:30As we know, these past years have been really challenging, mostly because of the pandemic.
02:37In the meantime, one of this project orientation was organizing Les Journées des Métiers de l'Electricité at schools in
02:44order to revive the interest of young people.
02:47How did COVID impact this event?
02:50The initiative Les Journées des Métiers de l'Electricité aims to help high school students
02:56deciding on their future career path.
03:01Haltered by COVID prohibiting public access to schools,
03:05it's now relaunched with concern of Teachers Association and Ministry of Education.
03:12What kind of link the commemorative project Ampère 200ans has with CIGRE?
03:18CIGRE is a great opportunity for us to present all the today's innovating and powerful domains,
03:25thanks to electrification.
03:28A quick word maybe about this CIGRE session.
03:31In this session, the SEE booth welcomes participants with our publications,
03:37including the ones about Ampères.
03:40It also presents SEE congresses, including Madpost 2023,
03:45that will take place next year in Lyon.
03:49Thank you for coming by and have a great session.
03:52Thank you for your welcome.
03:53.
