00:00Dating as a dating coach is so awkward.
00:03I met my husband on Twitter.
00:05He was a dating expert too.
00:07His company is called The Professional Wingman, and he goes out with people and helps them
00:12develop their social skills.
00:14I help people online navigate online dating sites and apps, and I felt like I need to
00:21know this guy.
00:21I direct messaged him and asked him to grab a cocktail.
00:25We started by talking about our businesses, but we ended by talking about everything
00:30else in life, and I started liking him a lot.
00:35Thomas proposed on Christmas Eve, which is my favorite day, and neither of us remember
00:41any of what he said, but I do remember saying yes.
00:45Thomas and I were engaged for a few months.
00:47It was really blissful.
00:49Then Thomas starts to act a little funny.
00:53He started to question everything, and he told me he wasn't sure he was getting ready
00:58to get married.
00:59That was so hard for me because I was like knee deep and starting to plan.
01:06I was thinking we'd get married and then we'd have one year, you know, there was like this
01:11trajectory happening.
01:13Feeling iffy and our relationship lasted for almost a year, so I decided to just stop talking
01:18about the wedding, stop talking about the future, like we're just going to be us and live in
01:23the moment.
01:24I really think that that's what pulled us out, is focusing on the present and who we
01:29are, because it's something we lost touch of.
01:33Things just started getting better and better.
01:35On New Year's, we were headed out the door to go to a party, and he said, I think we
01:41should
01:41set the date.
01:43Me and Thomas' relationship started on Twitter, and our love story really has always been about
01:49the words, even in 140 characters, so we had a whole Twitter-themed wedding.
01:55We got married under all these Twitter birds.
01:58All of the table numbers were hashtags that meant something to us, like hashtag Skype date
02:03or hashtag tweet hearts.
02:04Everyone's place card, we made it look like a little Twitter bio.
02:08But the most important thing was that everyone continued to help us write our love story.
02:14So we had everyone live tweet during the wedding, and iPads, when everyone sat down to dinner,
02:21turned into a live feed of the tweets.
02:25And our hashtag was happilyeveredwards, so it still lives on.
