00:00It's the cookie jar. It's brought to you by Moran Chevrolet where you always get the best price period on
00:06this episode of the cookie jar. We have pizza ice cream beer ice dancers and back to school. We start
00:13with pizza. Okay, I was hanging out with some friends and the text came through. Can one of you pick
00:18up the pizza to which I said, yeah, I'll pick up the pizza. I show up. There's no pizza. He
00:26expected me to order and pick up the pizza. Who was in the wrong?
00:30Um, he was in the wrong semantically. He should have just told you to order the pizza and pick it
00:35up because you would have done what I did. Pick up the pizza. You just show up and go, Hey,
00:39you think order for air or you could have. Did you ask him what the pizza's name is under? Like
00:45I asked him as I was pulling up. I said, what's the name? It's under and he goes, uh, you
00:52were supposed to order it. Oh, yeah. He should have just used the word order. Yes. Could you order the
00:58pizza? Yeah.
01:00He used the wrong, wrong words. Yes. Generally. I think it should have. If he said get the pizza, I
01:08think there would have been a expectation that you order it. This sounds like it was for a gathering. Yes.
01:16Yes. He semantically failed his man. I think it's for a gathering. The people are coming from different places and
01:24they're getting it. I think, I don't know. I think the word choice is questionable.
01:29Yes. I think that if my wife had told me to pick up the pizza, yes, there's more of that
01:36expectation that it's already been ordered and paid for and just to pick it up. He should have ordered it.
01:42He's clueless. He should have been direct with you and not left it out there. So then you had to
01:47wait. Yes. I had to see that. You were inconvenienced anyway. He took time out of your life. You know,
01:52not only should he have ordered it, he should have paid for it already. Were you literally going and say,
01:56yeah, I'm picking this up. Boom, boom. I grab it and go. Yep.
01:59Yep. You should have even got your car side.
02:03Is it fair or foul to drink a non-alcoholic beer at work?
02:10It's fair. However, if you're doing that, you just look like such a loser for some stride. I don't know
02:17why.
02:20Well, you never see it. Nobody walks around holding a beer can. I mean, non-alcoholic.
02:26Or I don't walk around with like a mocktail in my hand, like a pina colada or something.
02:32You could. You wouldn't get in any trouble, but it's just really, you're going to do that in front of
02:36people? You're a loser.
02:37Yeah, I'll say foul.
02:39Why is it foul? You're not drunk?
02:41It's fair. I know. Well, it's everything Stoney just said. Like, yeah, of course, go for it.
02:44I don't really care what you drink, but it just doesn't seem weird. I'll say no.
02:50Do you ever drink non-alcoholic beer? Are you always a loser? Or is it only at work?
02:53I'm talking about at work.
02:54At work.
02:56But then what's the difference?
02:59Because when people, your colleagues see beer, they're not sitting there figuring out if it's non-alcoholic or not.
03:06It's just, especially if it's on a Friday. You're drinking a beer, it's not alcoholic.
03:13You know, people want to go out and have a little happy hour and things like that? No.
03:16Do you think the bosses should say something if they saw a coworker drink a non-alcoholic beer?
03:22Well, first of all, I said, what are you drinking for? And the coworker would say, well, it's non-alcoholic.
03:26And the boss would say, well, you're a loser.
03:30I mean, I've never seen it happen anywhere. And I've worked in a lot of places.
03:34Never. I know people who drink non-alcoholic beers, former alcoholics, people who have diabetes and things like that.
03:41Sure.
03:42Look, I like to think that I want a concern with what is and not what things look like.
03:48I think this is one of the things that I'm thinking about what it looks like more so.
03:52And I think it just, it does not look good.
03:55And that's not a phrase that I like saying a lot, but I'm going to say it's foul.
03:58Imagine if I'm sitting here right now and there's an O'Doul sitting right now.
04:01Right.
04:01That would look so weird.
04:03I know.
04:03You'd be a loser.
04:05Yes.
04:05I think it's foul.
04:07I mean, around these parts, anything's fair game, but.
04:11How many free samples are you allowed when you go to get ice cream during busy hours?
04:16I had this experience up north.
04:18Three samples, people, that's way too many.
04:20Too many people waiting in line of one.
04:22That's it.
04:24You get one.
04:25Basically, I had the same opinion.
04:27You have the one that you have in your mind as your safe pick, but you want to try something
04:30and be adventurous.
04:31Yes.
04:32And then it's a yes or no.
04:33I'm getting it or I'm doing the fallback.
04:35Exactly.
04:35It's busy.
04:36Moving along.
04:37I don't need every kid to get three samples.
04:39Exactly.
04:40We're on the same page on this one.
04:42Man, I wrote down three, question mark.
04:44Like, I'd like to say unlimited.
04:46You can try every ice cream, but if it's busy.
04:48Not when it's busy.
04:49Three, I think.
04:51Three is appropriate.
04:52I mean, not every single person in your family.
04:54Like, if me, Colin, and the kids, we're not all going to get three samples.
04:57That's ridiculous.
04:57So you're going, I want to try the one with the pretzel pieces.
04:59What about the bubble gum?
05:00All that one.
05:01Seriously?
05:02Yeah.
05:03Moving along.
05:05I never do it.
05:06I've never asked for an ice cream sample, but I think three sounds good.
05:09And you're taking time of the people waiting in line.
05:11You got to go pick up some pizza.
05:12But you're spending money, and I'm sure it's not, like, cheap.
05:15You want to make sure you're getting the kind you really, really want to ask, don't you?
05:19Are you new to ice cream?
05:20Small?
05:21Maybe.
05:22There's maybe one different one that you're not sure about.
05:24Get the sample, and then move on.
05:26Right.
05:27I still say three.
05:27At the third, I would throw up a mental, eh, really?
05:31So the answer's two for me.
05:33Yeah.
05:33Two.
05:34Okay.
05:34Mine's one.
05:35I'm with you.
05:36Yeah, I know where you were at when this happened.
05:38It was Moomer's.
05:38Yes.
05:39Great ice cream.
05:41Yes.
05:41And I think because of the place, it matters that you should be able to do at least two.
05:45Because they have such unique, good, well-tasting ice cream.
05:50Yes.
05:50If you do this at DDQ, you're a loser.
05:53Let me try the chocolate soft serve and the vanilla.
05:57Is this a different strawberry this time?
05:59You're at Moomer's, man.
06:00That is, like, I'm willing to wait for somebody to get what they want.
06:05Okay.
06:06We saw the ice dancers at Lions Training Camp, the Olympians.
06:10Madison Chalk, Evan Bates, they were there at the training camp.
06:13And they are a couple.
06:14How the hell did they ice dance?
06:16It's August.
06:16I know.
06:18They're married.
06:19They're married, and their job is to work with one another.
06:22Would you like to work at the same job with your spouse?
06:26Not really.
06:27I was in a situation where that happened when I worked.
06:31George Michael, the sportsman, his wife was a writer.
06:35And it was okay.
06:37I mean, we liked her.
06:38But she would influence him on the decisions.
06:41And, you know, you don't want that dynamic.
06:43I'm not asking, do you want to work with a couple?
06:45I'm saying, do you want to work with your wife?
06:48Not really.
06:49Okay.
06:50Yeah, I would say no.
06:51I mean, I think that I could work well with him.
06:54But I just wouldn't want to be with him every second of the day.
06:57Yes.
06:58Carpool?
06:59I'd have no issue working with my wife.
07:02I'd like it.
07:02I like spending time with her.
07:03I do, too.
07:04I'm not your wife.
07:05I do, too.
07:06But it's just like...
07:07I mean, I've never really hung out with your wife, so I can't say that.
07:09But I wouldn't get sick of her.
07:11No, I wouldn't get sick of her.
07:13Like you people who don't like your partners.
07:14But if you're in a situation where you have to make decisions and you argue, you don't need
07:18that dynamic in there, do you?
07:20I think it's just nice to have your own thing going on.
07:25Yeah.
07:25My wife kicks ass.
07:26And we're a great team.
07:27So, yes, I would like to work with her.
07:28There you go, Greg.
07:29No, awkward.
07:32All right, last question.
07:33Back to school.
07:34Who would be the best teacher at the station?
07:40I'm going to have to think about this one for a second.
07:41Are you doing some substitute teaching?
07:43I know.
07:43Do you think you're a good substitute teacher?
07:45Depends on that.
07:46Well...
07:47People probably love having you as a subs, don't they?
07:49If they know...
07:49We do.
07:51That's right.
07:52Yeah, we do.
07:53Substitute a great tongue about who.
07:54Um, I think Doug would be a really good teacher because he would go through the lesson plan.
08:04You'd actually learn things and he's got enough of a dry wit that it would be okay.
08:11Gosh, I kind of agree with you.
08:13In my head, I was thinking you, Stoney, because if you walked in...
08:17How about you?
08:18You were a teacher.
08:19I was.
08:19Well, it depends on the grade, too.
08:20Yeah.
08:21But if you were my teacher, like, yes, I got Stoney.
08:25Like, how awesome would that be?
08:27I mean, you saw the videos when I did some music, when I was doing some music for the
08:32kids.
08:33It's weird.
08:36But Doug, I think, is a great choice.
08:38I think Doug would be a great teacher.
08:39I think you'd learn the most from Doug.
08:41And I do think there's enough of a sense of humor that you'd enjoy the class.
08:44You couldn't do Valenny.
08:45He'd just send everybody to detention.
08:46No, I know.
08:49You guys nailed it.
08:50Doug Karsh.
08:50Yeah.
08:51Married to a schoolteacher, n'est-ce pas?
08:53Oh, okay.
08:53Yeah.
08:54Easy answer is Heather, because she's been a teacher.
08:56You know?
08:57Well, Stoney is now.
08:58I thought Doug, he's a substitute.
09:00Yeah.
09:00Just like here.
09:01Yeah.
09:02Oh, no.
09:05We can roll in the TV when we have Stoney?
09:07That's right.
09:08Yeah, exactly.
09:10And turn on Aussie Rules Football.
09:11Clash of the Titans.
09:12I remember watching that in high school.
09:13Remember the Titans.
09:15Yeah.
09:16Yeah.
09:16Heather, easy answer.
09:17But Doug, I think Doug would be a great high school teacher.
09:20That's true.
09:20I can see him doing high school history.
09:22History.
09:23Yes.
09:24I have to say, though, the most fitting role at the station would be, I believe Gator being
09:28a gym teacher would be fabulous.
09:30I think when the kids would walk into the gym class and see Gator, it's like, this is
09:33going to be fun.
09:35Yes.
09:35Well, if we're expanding subjects, Greg could be the math teacher.
09:39That's right.
09:40He's an engineer.
09:40Yeah.
09:42What subject would you teach, Stoney?
09:46Drugs and society.
09:47No.
09:47Oh, my gosh.
09:48What would Ringo teach?
09:50Oh, no.
09:50Trolling 101.
09:51Yes.
09:53Actually, Wojo would be a fun teacher.
09:55Yeah, he would be.
09:55Oh, he would be.
09:56He'd be a blast.
09:58Because he wouldn't show up.
09:59He'd be a better substitute teacher.
10:00He'd show.
10:00Well, actually, Gator.
10:01I mean, you'd be sitting there in class.
10:03If Gator was the teacher, are we going to get a substitute today?
10:06He's not here yet.
10:06He's not here yet.
10:07Pardon me, by the way.
10:09Did you guys mention Rico's been a teacher?
10:11Yes, that's true.
10:12Oh, yeah, yeah.
10:12What did he teach?
10:13He's at Specs.
10:14He still is.
10:15Oh, cool.
10:15Does he still do it?
10:16I'm not sure.
10:18I think Rico would be a good teacher.
10:19Yes, absolutely.
10:21Mike.
10:22Well, I said Mike would give everybody the attention.
10:24He'd be the worst teacher.
10:26What do you mean?
10:27Not here.
10:28Not here.
10:29It's either win or lose.
10:31A or F.
10:31Yes, exactly.
10:32Pass, fail.
10:34You're right.
10:34That would be Valenti.
10:36Pass, fail.
10:37It's a cookie jar.
10:38Moran Chevrolet, 97.1.
