00:00It's Jersey Sweat Radio 95.9 The Rat Time to kick off your first set of stories here as far as the No Sweat News.
00:08If you miss any of them, don't worry about it. Just check out WRET.com. We'll have them up in the podcast section so you can study up, alright?
00:14Let's go. Let's rock and roll, baby.
00:15Alright, story number one. Like I said, we're dedicating this one to Joey Chestnut for winning the hot dog eating contest and almost choking somebody out.
00:23Joey Chestnut, 63 hot dogs yesterday.
00:26Well, he's going to love this one because a brewery in Fort Worth, Texas called Martin House Brewing Company, they're releasing a hard seltzer brewed from hot dog water.
00:37What? That's disgusting.
00:40It's called Awesome Sauce, bun length. It's got 5.2% alcohol in there.
00:46Okay.
00:47Yeah, it's leftover water from 52 pounds of boiled hot dogs.
00:51Do they know that hot dog water is gross? It's actually like, that's like a, that's basically like an insult.
00:58When you want to say someone's like cooking is bad, you say it tastes like hot dog water.
01:03Mm-hmm. And yeah, apparently tastes like a boozy hot dog.
01:07So unfortunately, it's not available in stores just yet, but I don't know if you're really looking for one.
01:12No, I, I don't need all these food, booze, crossovers. Just give me beer that tastes like beer and food that tastes like food.
01:19They're unveiling it at an event at a brewery on July 16th. And if you go, it'll be available on drafts or in cans.
01:28Okay. Yeah.
01:29No, I don't think so. Then you're going to be giving me a sauerkraut drink and a horseradish drink.
01:36Wash it down with some mustard, you know, shots of mustard.
01:40No, thanks. Crazy. Story number two, Dave, would you give up $10,000 for a flight? Would you pass up 10 grand?
01:48No. Well, this time is.
01:50Someone offered me $10,000 for a flight? Mm-hmm.
01:53For, for my tickets? Of course I'll give it to you.
01:55Here's the story. A writer for Inc.com named Jason Atten.
02:00He went on a trip to Alaska last week with seven family members, his wife, four kids, and two other adults.
02:05And before they took off, Delta offered them $10,000 to get bumped to a later flight, and Jason turned it down.
02:15What the hell, man?
02:17That's 12, uh...
02:19That's insanity.
02:20Nuts, right? $1,250 a seat for eight seats.
02:23Holy cow.
02:24And not in travel vouchers.
02:25They were offering a $10,000 on a Visa gift card or with immediate transfer over Apple Pay.
02:32Apple Pay.
02:33Oh, my gosh. He turned it down.
02:35Yeah. Jason says it took a minute to register that it was a serious offer.
02:39And then he worried about how long they were going to be delayed, if their plans in Alaska would be affected, and whether $10,000 was worth it.
02:46So he declined and watched a few other people take up, uh, take Delta up on their offer instead.
02:51And he said, my wife is still pissed about it.
02:54I would be, too.
02:56What the hell is the matter with you, you douchebag?
02:59Like, you would just give it a $10,000 gift from God.
03:05Yeah.
03:05And you turned it down because you're the typical little worrying, I'm worried.
03:10I'm worried that this, and I'm worried about that, and I'm worried about that.
03:13No, you take the money, stupid.
03:15A little crazy right there. No doubt about that.
03:17Golly.
03:18And lastly, Dateline, Florida, capital of the No Sweat News.
03:21Listen to this guy.
03:2344-year-old guy named David Proudfoot.
03:26He's facing charges after he tried to land a security job at Disney World.
03:30Here's what happened.
03:32Right.
03:32He recently applied for a job as a security guard at the park, and he thought he could up his chances by exposing weakness in their security protocols.
03:40So what did he do?
03:41He dressed up as an employee, walked into one of the resort hotels on May 31st, and he tried to steal a replica R2-D2 droid worth about $10,000.
03:50Ha ha! There you go! That's my boy!
03:53His plan didn't work, though.
03:55Oh, come on!
03:55And if anything, he showed that their security is fairly robust.
03:59Someone saw him pushing a cart around, and it seemed suspicious.
04:03So security confronted him, and he claimed that he worked there, but they knew he was lying when he said his job was to move stuff around the park, but he didn't know where anything was.
04:12He tried to lead them to an employee locker room, but he went the wrong way.
04:18This guy's awesome.
04:19Then he couldn't open the locker that was supposed to be his, and when they asked for his boss's name, he gave the name of an employee who works in California, not Florida.
04:27Ha ha!
04:29Okay, now that is fantastic.
04:31He eventually came clean.
04:32He admitted that he was trying to show weakness in their security, so they hired him.
04:37Instead, he's facing charges for grand theft.
04:41Fantasticness.
04:41Gotta love that one, huh?
04:42And, you know, he tried to steal R2.
04:45Next time, he needs C-3PO's help.
04:46Gotta get C-3PO's help if you're gonna get R2.
04:50Crazy.
04:50Come on.
04:51Absolutely crazy.
04:52There you go.
04:53We're wrapping up the No Sweat News for the first stories as far as Tuesday.
04:57Like I said, we'll have a nice quiz for you lined up.
04:59Maybe one of those stories will pop up on Friday's quiz.
