00:03Hello, it is Sunday the 20th September and this is the forecast for WA for the week ahead.
00:09There is a fair bit of rain and interesting weather on the way for WA this week.
00:13Most of it is concentrated in our unpopulated regions, but we'll still go through with it.
00:19Those systems, which are attached to quite a lot of sort of lows moving through and
00:22stalling in the area, are likely to drive thunder and lightning storm activity.
00:26So I definitely think towards the end of the week, there'll be a heightened bushfire risk across many
00:30parts of WA. We will get into that in the forecast. Just to show you, this is Wednesday's bushfire
00:35risk. Again, high bushfire risk in the north central regions, but we can't see later, which is actually
00:41when I think the thunder and lightning storms are developing. So yeah, I just can't show you those
00:43at the moment. Let's get started. So this is Sunday under the influence of the high pressure system
00:48here. That hangs around for a little bit. This is Monday. And then Tuesday, this is the first glimpse
00:53of what we're seeing. This is likely Tuesday night, sort of two to five mils, where it's Wednesday
00:57that we'll actually see the system really start to take place. We're seeing sort of between five to
01:0215 mils here in this system. And you can see this is connected to a cutoff low down here. That's
01:07got
01:07a front moving up into that region. All right. Hangs around here for Thursday. Friday, this is another
01:13intensification with a trough where it really picks up here on Saturday. Saturday, we're talking 25 to 50
01:19mils across large areas of that south coast. But on Sunday, you can really see it actually
01:25probably cut off here into a little mid-latitude cyclone. 15 to 25 mils in the sea. We're seeing
01:30sort of five to 10 up on land. Now, what's I suppose important is on days like this day,
01:37where we have this more intense rainfall, this is likely to also be associated with some pretty
01:40strong thunder and lightning storms. And that's where I could definitely see a potentially elevated
01:44bushfire risk there. It's quite early in the season to have a bushfire, but just preparing
01:49that could be the case or the result of these sorts of intense storms, especially when they're
01:54sitting a little bit further north like they are here on Thursday. So potentially something in that
01:58there. Okay. Wind fields with it. I just will start here on Wednesday. I just want to show you that
02:03the
02:03whole state is fairly gusty this week. So 30 to 40 kilometer hour gusts in this pocket, but mostly
02:0820 to 30. Let's zoom through to like Saturday where we start to see this low. Okay. And we're seeing
02:14mainly gusts 63 to 90 kilometers an hour that could really start to come up and penetrate inland. And
02:19then we've also got a trough here. So 40 to 63 kilometers an hour. So yeah, WA has got quite
02:23a
02:23bit of weather coming. The temperatures are from what I've seen pretty consistent throughout the week,
02:27but the rain can be intense depending on where it lands. The thunderstorms could be intense and that
02:32wind is likely to be fairly gusty this week as well. Okay. So that is mainly it for WA. Do
