00:00Hello, very good day to you. There is some heavy rain on the way, but that's coming tonight and into
00:06tomorrow.
00:06Before that, well, the front that's across parts of the northwest through today, that's quite a weak feature.
00:12And actually, we have high pressure firmly in control over many areas.
00:17It's that high pressure that's led to the warmth by day, but also the mist and fog that some of
00:22us woke up to in the south.
00:24That front then in the northwest, as I mentioned, bringing some rain. It's already brought some rain to northwestern parts
00:29of Scotland.
00:30And it's going to bring more rain across Scotland and Northern Ireland as we go into the afternoon, albeit the
00:35rain today not especially heavy.
00:38Like I say, quite a weak feature.
00:40There will also be some brighter weather across the far north of Scotland as that front pushes through.
00:43And then across the bulk of England and Wales looking dry.
00:46Best of the sunshine, the sunniest skies across eastern areas, some southern counties as well.
00:50Further west, the cloud thick enough for a few spots of rain.
00:53It's where we get the sunshine that we're going to get the highest temperatures.
00:56Widely, they are above average for this stage in September.
00:59But in the east-southeast, we could be looking at highs of around 25, 26, possibly 27 Celsius.
01:06That's pretty warm indeed for the time of year.
01:09Later on, we are going to see that front in the northwest, which has been lingering for a wee while
01:15across Scotland and Northern Ireland.
01:16That's going to edge its way south and eastwards.
01:18And as it does so, it's going to pep up through tomorrow.
01:21So, we're going to see some heavier bursts of rain, some more persistent rain across Northern Ireland and many areas
01:26of Scotland overnight.
01:28And also some sherry outbreaks of rain across the north and west.
01:31And then that heavier rain is edging its way southeastwards as we go into tomorrow as well.
01:36Ahead of that, towards the southeast, well, it's actually going to be generally dry, clear skies, lighter winds here.
01:42And as a result, again, we could see some mist and fog patches developing through the early hours of tomorrow
01:47morning as things turn a little fresh here.
01:50Elsewhere, temperatures, well, for many, will hold up in double digits.
01:53As I mentioned, that band of rain then in the northwest, that does continue its way southeast.
01:57So, it's through tomorrow with some heavy bursts of thundery rain, likely across many areas of England and Wales.
02:02Particularly the North Midlands, Lincolnshire area, that's where we're likely to see the heaviest bursts of rain.
02:08And there will be gusty winds in association with it.
02:10There will be the strongest winds at the moment.
02:12Look like they will be out in the North Sea.
02:15But nonetheless, some gusty winds could come through.
02:17That then close away towards the east and we see drier, brighter weather following in behind.
02:21And it's also worth noting, Southern County's not really seeing much, if any, of that rain.
02:26And so, actually, looking largely fine here.
02:29It is still going to be relatively warm.
02:31Temperatures in the south-southeast will peak in the low to mid-twenties.
02:35Elsewhere, slightly fresher air coming in.
02:37So, mid to high teens for many here.
02:40Later on Wednesday, we have a ridge of high pressure buildings.
02:43So, that's going to help clear that rain away.
02:45And things are going to turn dry and often clear over Wednesday night and into Thursday.
02:50As a result, Thursday morning could be quite chilly for many of us with a touch of frost in some
02:55places.
02:56A bit of a surprise after the warmth of today.
