00:03Hello, it is Sunday the 25th of October and this is Queensland's weather update for the week ahead.
00:08First off, I hope everyone is safe in the current severe weather. We're going to talk about it today
00:13and just also note that there's a little bit of reprieve on the way day by day but overall there's
00:18still a lot of rain on the way for a lot of these areas so let's get started. Looking here
00:22this is
00:23the Sunday weather warnings that have been issued. All of these are flood warnings of different
00:27severities, blue being a general flood warning, green being minor, brown being major, brown being
00:32moderate and red being major. So the Fraser coastal region is in a major flood risk area with many
00:37areas around already receiving flooding. So we're going to have a look at this day by day. So this
00:42is the Sunday rainfall and you can see 25 to 50 mils in this sort of darker orangey colour which
00:48is
00:49possible around the southeast coast but much of Queensland is still receiving a lot of rain. We're
00:55the severe rainfall area is just moving around a bit but also because they're moving around in a
01:00small area there's not a lot of confidence where that rainfall is going to come. It should be noted
01:05that there will be severe weather attached to this so strong rain, potentially strong winds,
01:09maybe small to moderate hail and rain and lightning and thunder as well. So severe weather continues
01:16through much of this week. Here looking at Monday it's looking like it goes further south into the
01:20border regions but again still anywhere between 1 and 15 mils across most of Queensland there.
01:26Tuesday it does back off a little bit which is I suppose potentially good news but on Wednesday we
01:30see those still strong severe systems around again this is likely to bring those those storm risks
01:35attached with it here. On to Thursday we have some reprieve down in the southwest here but some
01:41potential storm action over in the states west around the Mount Isa region. For Friday we get again
01:48another severe storm area down into the sort of central southern areas of Queensland. Saturday it
01:55looks like that severity is easing but again there's still a lot of rain around this southeast region,
02:0010 to 15 mils possible there which could contribute to elevated flood risk because we have so many days
02:05connected. And then Sunday it looks like there's finally a little bit of reprieve of rainfall on the
02:10way there. So a lot of severe weather still on the way this week for Queensland. If you're in an
02:16area which is
02:17currently seeing flood warnings know that your minor flood warning could elevate to a major or moderate
02:23flood risk as the week continues so please do stay aware with those warnings as they continue to be
02:29updated and issued. Okay be safe. If we're having a look at the total rainfall contribution you can
02:36see there are some areas which will receive over 75 or over 100 mils of rain this week that is
02:43possible.
02:43Most areas are anywhere between 25 and 50 mils in the singular week so lots of severe rainfall on the
02:49way. Do be safe, have a great week, and we'll see you next time. Bye.
